BIG NO! This is the worst place in Eagle County and possibly Colorado. We live here in the Valley and have given them a couple of chances now and they have screwed something up every time. A few years ago I bought four tires for my 3 Series BMW and had this shop install them. Big Mistake. While removing the old tires from the wheel rims they forgot to remove the balancing weights from one wheel. As a result, their tire removal tool pushed the lead weight around the rim causing permanent damage to it. They only owned up to the mistake after I brought it to their attention, after the car had new tires installed and was out in the parking lot. The store manager agreed to buy me a new rim but not a new one, a reconditioned one. So now I have three original rims and one reconditioned one. You can imagine how that makes me feel. Also, when they balanced my wheels they used really inexpensive and tacky looking wheel weights. It's not a huge issue if you drive an old pickup truck but if you value the look of your wheels you may not be happy with them. read more

This was the worst customer service experience that I have ever had from a business. I will never return or recommend this shop to anyone. After walking in the door and having to greet the salesperson that was staring right at me without saying anything. I had to explain to him multiple times of the service that I needed. Finally he had enough understanding to grab the needed paperwork to go out to my vehicle and get more information. Once we reached the vehicle the "Service Expert" decided it was a good time to check and respond to something on his cell phone as I stood next time him waiting. After 10 Minutes of him checking a few small things on my car we went back inside and he had to ask other associates 3 times how to enter the work order into the system. After the the person helping him literally wrote down the service code for him he still had a very confused look on his face. I was then told it would take 4 hours to perform a car inspection. After all of this I decided I didn't want these people touching my car so I asked for my keys and left. While I was leaving the parking lot a saw a friend of mine walking in and he had just gotten a new set of brakes put on and by the time that he drove his car from the shop to work his two front brakes were smoking almost to the point of being on fire. I called and spoke with the manager about my experience and he said that he would perform the work for free and get it done ASAP. I told him that I would not be returning read more

I came to Big O to get tires initially. They have a decent deal to switch them out when you have their tires so I'm forced to go back when I need to change out my tires. The last 2 times I went, I asked for an oil change and an inspection as well, which they didn't do. When I asked about it at the end, the guy just kinda shrugged and said he didn't know about that part. I left it alone because they were obviously too busy to take care of their customers. I called today to see how busy they are but Nick told me that they are "unfortunately unable to give me any kind of estimate." I understand not giving an exact estimate but a "we're busy" or "we're not too busy today" would have been nice. They are always rushed and stressed out and treat customers like an inconvenience. We have been loyal customers of this store for years, until today. Why? Because I was insulted and lied to. This winter, we purchased snow times for my new GL wagon. The day we took the car in to swap the tires, we arrived at 7:00am, only to find the location was already overflowing. As the parking lot was full, we were directed to park the car Highway 6. Much to my surprise, the car remained on Highway 6 well past 3:00. Not surprisingly, the windsheild was hit by a rock as a result of passing traffic, and cracked. When the staff became aware of what had occurred, I was directed to contact a local windshield repair company to determine if the windshield could be repaired, or would have to be replaced. I did, and was told it needed to be replaced. As a result, I called the store and let the staff know. I was told this would be a claim submitted to their insurance company, so I needed to speak to Peter, the manager. After many messages left for Peter to call me (he never called back) I gave up and figured I would catch up with him when I brought the car back in to get the tires changed out, once the snow stopped falling. When I called this past week to schedule both the tire swap, and the windsheild repair, I was warmly greeted by a staff member who immediatly remembered who I was, and was surprised the windsheild hadn't yet been replaced. This staff person remarked, "I thought that had been repaired already. Let's get you scheduled for the 12th, and you can come in and get both the tires and windsheild taken care of, at the same time." I replied that sounded great -- and Dennis let me know he would leave a message for Peter, and he would call me back later that day. Needless to say, Peter never called back. When I finally was able to speak to Peter today, he also remembered me. But, now, instead of working out how to help me, he instead claimed he only sent me to the windshield repair company to see if the windshield could be repaired. He claimed he never agreed to replace it. He then proceeded to say I chose to park my car on the 6, and this was my fault. What?? None of this makes any sense, of course. Why would he have suggested I call the autoglass vendor in the first place, unless he felt responsible for the repair? He was responsible if it was a crack repair, but not a complete replacement? In any event, Peter was rude, and insulted me by saying I must be crazy to think he would just replace my windshield -- and didn't care it the least when I suggested this would result in the loss of my business. read more

Took my car in because my whole car shook, and pulled to the left. On my way to big o, I get a flat. AAA changed my tire and put my spare on. I finally make it to big O they tell me it's an alignment problem and that they'll fix my tire for me as well. $130 later, they tell me it is all good to go. Go to pick up my car, they left my spare on the car and my whole car still shakes and pulling to the left. Go back into big o to ask them too look at it. 4 hours later they do two more alignments and tell me they can't figure out what is wrong with my car. That it could possibly be the tires but there is nothing physically wrong with them that they can see. Now I'm back in my car, and my whole body is literally shaking as I drive away. I go in for a second opinion somewhere else, 30 minutes is all it took to tell me the lining in my tires is practically gone and that they could blow at any minute. New tires and another alignment later (my car was still out of alignment although big o claims they did an alignment 4 times), my car feels brand new. The best part is when I went back into tell them about what had happened, the manager became very condescending and refused to admit they had done anything wrong. If you value your time, money, and safety, then I suggest anywhere else in the valley. read more

I brought my car in for a loud noise which turned out to be my muffler hanging loose under the car, and banging into things when I was turning. The mechanic was not able to clearly explain what was going on, when it was a very easy explanation. They were not able to make the repair there so I returned to pick up the vehicle. When I got to my car it was littered with all the protective plastic and papers they put in to keep your car from getting greasy, as well as a big pile of nasty, oil covered rags and garbage on the unprotected passenger's seat As I was about to leave I decided I would get under the car to see if I could identify the problem that was not well explained. Upon doing so I noticed my ENTIRE tail pipe and muffler were now gone. The tail pipe and muffler were still in PERFECT shape - it is just a small straight coupling that needs to be replaced. I had to go back inside and demand the pipe and muffler back. The mechanic only brought them up to show me, and when I could clearly see that the muffler and pipe were in perfect shape it took some convincing to have him give back MY muffler. I will now have a simple $12 coupling clamped on to the pipe to reattach it rather than the several hundred dollars it would have cost to have the muffler/tailpipe replaced The mechanics treated me as though I as I could not possibly understand my car (because I am a female) and I distinctly felt I was being scammed. They also were quite pushy about offering services that I did not want and declined repeatedly The gentleman who handled the customer service was great, but the mechanics are rude, careless, and incompetent. read more

Still waiting for a call after one month and empty promises. Went to the BBB and Big O rejected my claim stating I "asked for the higher mileage tires." What a scam and a con job by this team. We had been driving for two hours with kids and our dog for a camping trip. Or trailer tire went bald and we needed new tires. Quote over the phone was considerably less than the quote in store as well I asked about the wait and was told to come on down. Of course the wait was longer than quoted. Nick was able to get the price closer to the quote and get us started faster than expected. Disappointed with the quote but thankful Nick was able to help salvage our experience otherwise would be giving 1 star instead of 3.5. read more

Big O Tires in Avon, Colorado is the best! I called from an hour away on a busy Saturday with a flat on my employer's pick-up, and they said get here and we'll fix it. When I got there you would have thought I was tipping everyone with $100 bills, they were all gracious polite fast accurate efficient and overall as helpful as could be. To top it off, I didn't know because it was a company truck, but the truck had Big O Tires so fixing the flat was FREE!!! When they told me the tire was fixed and they realized I would have replace an 8 lug-nut wheel by hand with a jack, they had me pull the truck in, they pulled off the spare, put on the repaired tire, and re-installed the spare on the truck! I was only there one half hour, start to finish. It literally doesn't get any better than this. Thank you Big O Tires Avon. read more

tires may be priced well but service is far from great. last time I was in for a rotation. the guy behind the desk strongly recommended I replace my suspension.... I had my truck lifted with a brand new suspension only two months prior. Given this I had to ask why he came up with this recommendation. the employee told me that my suspension was showing significant signs of wear and could be dangerous if I kept driving it. When I told him my suspension was just replaced, he replied with "well its really dirty then" - sure it was since I had taken the truck off road a week prior. I'll also mention they tightened the lugs so much they stripped almost half of them. This is the kind of place that encourages people not to trust auto mechanics. Definitely would not recommend anything more than buying tires here. read more

Amazing service and great price. I went in last Thursday to inquire about a leveling kit and tires. Bill and Dave quoted me a price and said it could be done the next day. Big O in glenwood springs said it would be at least three weeks and they quoted a higher price. So did 4-wheel parts in Denver. I will absolutely be a return customer for other services as well. I had a very positive experience here. I had a flat tire on a Saturday. They repaired our flat tire and put it on at NO CHARGE! The staff was friendly and knowledgable. It was a Saturday and they were a bit busy. Even though they had a comfortable waiting area, my aunt, my sister and I walked a 2 block distance to The Route 6 Cafe which was recommended by one of the staff members,. We had a great meal and the approximate 1 1/2 hour wait passed quickly. These guys were super. read more

I recently tried out Big O as I was in the area and needed an oil change. I called to see if I could make an appointment because I did not want to sit there all day. Well, I sat there all day. I arrived around 10 AM. The employee behind the counter was very friendly. I mentioned that I also needed a quote on rear brakes and made sure to emphasize that i would be interested in getting those done that day as well. My car was taken back to the shop very quick as there were only two other people in the store when I arrived. I thought for sure I would be in and out with an oil change and new brakes, especially since the staff knew I was waiting for my car. If I owned a business I would make sure to try and get those who were waiting to the top of the list, but hey that's why this place is getting one star. So, I waited for 2.5 hours then finally went up to the desk to find out what was going on. The employee went down to check on my vehicle, he spent 10 minutes down there and finally came back up. He did not stop to inform me what the hold up was, so I walked up there. His response was "He is finishing it up right now". I asked how it could take 2.5 hours for an oil change? His response was "We're busy".....Really? That's funny because I have seen at least 6 people come and go since I sat down. So I wait another 25 minutes or so. Took a walk down to the garage, my vehicle is still on the lift....finishing up eh??? Not only that, but I know my tires were not rotated because my vehicle was on a lift that picked the whole vehicle up so there was no way to get the tires off. It was not on a center post mount lift to hold the vehicle up by the frame. Plus I made a note of what the tire pattern was. So, all in all it took 3 hours to get an oil change, my tires were not rotated, and I never received the brake quote that I specifically asked about and told the employee I would be interested in doing that day. Very poor experience. I do not recommend this location. read more

Never buy tires here. The service is horrible. It takes all day to get a tire rotation. The last 2 times they screwed up the balance. Afterwords they said to bring it back and they will fix it immediately but..it took hours of waiting again. Terrible service. Save yourself the Hassel and go somewhere else. read more

Sloppy and no customer service. They blew off an appointment on the busiest day of the year. I made an appointment for the day before Thanksgiving; 9am. I made the appt several days ago just because I knew it would be a busy day. They claimed the lift in the appt bay was down and that they tried to call. They did not try to call (CallerID) and they made no attempt to apologize. I will never set foot in another Big O Tire shop again and you should not either. there are plenty of shops with competitive pricing who will work for our money. read more

I brought in a set of tires to put on my vehicle, and they would not do it because it was the wrong type of tire. The right size, but the wrong type. So I don't know enough about tires, I can confess that. I bought a set from them that they were willing to put on, instead. Then they lost my personal tires...for a week! It really put me through a lot of frustration, and for sure gave me a scare. Therefore, I will not go back to Big O. There are two more tire shops within a half-mile of there. read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would. On 12/28/18 we brought in our car for low tire pressure hoping for a patch. We were told we needed a new tire. The only tires they had to fit our car were a $2k set of snow tires. In a bind and needing to address it before we drove back to Denver the next day, we purchased the set. Picked up the car that night only to go out the next morning to find the left rear completely flat - on a brand new tire. Called asked them to come add air so we could get the car there to be addressed. After they initially refused (we live less than a mile from the shop) they came. After over an hour, the tires were "fixed." Drive to Denver that morning with a horrible vibration. Take it straight to a Big O down there. The tires were each off by 3/4 of an ounce and had to be rebalanced by that location. And now for the past two week the tire pressure warning continues to come on reporting a loss of 13-15 psi on the front left. Filled it with air each time. Brought it back to this location this morning (first opportunity back up here). To be told it had nothing to do with their install but there is a small hole in the tire - no nail or screw, just a small hole. Is it possible, sure but how likely is it given the quality of the install with the first two issues? The amount of time we have wasted dealing with a brand new set of tires has been absurd. The staff is dismissive and inept. I would rather tow the car anywhere else than this store than risk the safety of my family or give them another dime. We have asked for a call from the GM. read more

Terrible, rude, rip off artists. I asked for a standard oil change, waited 2 hours, then the supervisor had taken it upon himself to use synthetic oil at $120 vs the quoted $45 regular oil change that I requested. The supervisor became belligerent and a know it all. In the end he apologized for being "aggressive". Don't expect any customer service or reasonable pricing at that schlock operation. read more

Horrible experience. Showed up at 6:30am for 7am opening with 8 other possible victims in front of me. Needed four things serviced and willing to pick up vehicle at end of day. They called mid-day with two service items completed and said it was "done." My #1 service issue was new brake pads. Was told by Big-O, "shouldn't drive the vehicle anywhere outside of Eagle Vail" and told me to "come back two days later" or whenever because they don't take appointments. There were, "too many other vehicles" meaning oil changes and tire service were more important than my brakes. I had an emergency on my hands so called Integra (Gypsum) who understood my dilemma and stayed open to help me. Big-O Avon was a Big-Disappointment. read more

They didn't have the right size snow tires for my truck anywhere in Summit county, so I drove to this location to get some really nice tires. Unfortunately they didn't have time to put them on that day, but the salesperson who took care of me, Dave, was super friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions and helped me price everything out before I bought the tires. I would highly recommend that anyone thinking of going to the Frisco location to STAY AWAY. Frisco has the worst customer service around summit. Make sure you go to THIS location and ask for Dave, he's the man. read more

Watch out! I almost got charged 5 times more , I went just to get my blazer radiator flushed, and then I was called by a technician who was working in my car, telling me that I was going to need some more work, just the flushing was going to be 100, and he came up with almost 500 work, I said : just do what I asked u to do, and when I was with the cashier he ask me for 500! And they didn't do any extra work, after all being cleared, the DIDN APOLOGIED, customer service really sucks at this place!! read more

I am new to the area and Big-O tires was recommended to me by a few different people. After my first experience I will not be recommending Big-O tires to anyone. I gave 2 stars because Joel was great while quoting me a price for snow tires and a brake job. He was straight forward and efficient. Big-O beat Walmart's quote. Also great. Big-O doesn't take appointments, which is fine, however a head's up that arriving a few minutes before 7am (opening) isn't a safe bet would have been nice. After being turned away once, I made a point to arrive at 6:15 am the next morning and get in line. I got my car in and spoke with Dave (good experience) about what services my car needed. After this it was nothing, but downhill. I intended to leave my car just for the day, not the THREE DAYS it took for snow tires and brakes. I was called later the same day of drop off to let me know my car was "done". I showed up the following day to pick it up only to find that it wasn't done. I was told there were 2 mechanics on hand that would finish the car quickly and I could expect a call in a few hours. I didn't receive a call that day. I called back the next am and spoke with Dennis who was pretty damn rude. He asked me "Have you received a call saying it was done?" Obviously I said no, but before I could explain he cut me off with "then it probably isn't done." After explaining the situation he couldn't find out whether or not my car was done. He said he would call back. Again, no call. I called back in the afternoon and after a long hold while someone went to find out the actual status of my car, I received confirmation that my car was indeed done. I arrived around 7 pm to pick up my car. There were 2 guys at the counter, one was helping another customer, the other was counting the cash drawer and refused to make eye contact with me. After waiting awhile a third employee rounded the corner. I checked out and left for good. read more

To all y local friends, steer clear of Big O Tires Avon, Had 4 new tires put on a month ago and from the very next day I kept getting reading on internal tire monitor that pressure was low on back passenger tire, went back to Big O when Peter the manager said it was the internal tire gauge and put air air in all 4 tires not 1 but all four were wrong. I continued to have message show up on my dashboard. I continued to need air in my rear passenger tire daily. Brought back in to Peter again and he Psychic powers to tell me I must have ran over a screw right when I left his facility the day they put the tires on and proceeded to check my tires and could not find anything, and requested i bring car in next day so they could put tire in water to look for leaks and by all magical powers he called me in less than hour to tell me there was a screw in my tire which he took a picture of right in plain site on the outer portion of the tire( how surprising) just like he predicted. Then he gives me back vehicle stating I would need to keep putting air in as needed because there was nothing they could do. The worst service ever. Sad part is they don't care. They have so many negative complaints they just keep moving on. Sad business for a great small town. read more

It's not often you feel better walking our of a car repair shop than in, but I had one of those experiences at this Big O Tires. At my last oil change the shop I went to in Denver told me I need some serious work done on my front driver-side tire, but at $800 I wanted to do some looking around. I was going to a friend's house in Vail when my car started making this awful clunking sound on I-70. I called up Big O Tires the next day to have them do the prescribed maintenance. The price was much lower than the shop in Denver and they could get me in that day. I dropped it off and then went on a bike ride while waiting for their official diagnosis. I got a call less than an hour later to tell me that what I had had asked them to do didn't actually need done, so they had checked out some other things that may be the problem but said it didn't look like anything wrong. They said the clunking noise was likely worn out struts/shocks and nothing urgent. I picked up my car for no charge and haven't had a problem since (that was almost a year ago). I was incredibly impressed that they were honest about what needed to be done, took the time to look into other options, and didn't charge me a penny to inspect my car. read more

Five Stars are not enough. I was passing through the area towing a loaded 14' flatbed. One wheel literally fell off in a Wendy's lot. An adaptor had failed and ripped stud bolts through the hub. By luck I contacted Big 'O' and Manager, Dave Antanies, who told me they could help. I managed to get to their location and waited my turn for an empty bay. Dave's guys dismantled my ruined adaptor and hub and cleaned and inspected everything that remained of the mess. They got several hubs from local parts stores including one from Dave's personal boat trailer. My trailer was old and nothing fit. Dave said I could leave my trailer, as it was late Saturday, which I did and drove six hours home. New hubs for my trailer are no longer available so a magician machinist was able to make my hub almost new again. I returned to Big 'O' on Tuesday and they were packed with customers. Dave allowed me to reinstall my hub on their lot but didn't want me to leave until they had time to inspect my trailer. Dave said " for your safety, I want to remove the other three wheels and inspect the adaptors and hubs, which they did. I went to settle my bill and Dave would not allow me to pay anything. I reminded him that they had several hours of time into my trailer. Tell me anyplace else where you can get that kind of service. Dave is a good manager probably because of his training, but he is a great guy because it is in his genes. On a future trip to the Denver area, I will make every effort to get my next set of tires from Big 'O's, TEAM ANTANIES in Eagle-Vail, Co. read more

Just wanted to give an update on my situation with Big O Tires in Eagle Vail. I received calls from Bill, the Western Slope Manager and Peter, the store manager to try and correct my situation. We had already gone to the Subaru Dealership and had the sensor replaced. It was covered under warranty since they cannot prove it was "damaged". Subaru said the sensors do not really just go bad and Peter at Big O said that was his experience with Subaru sensors as well. Peter was very apologetic for what happened, as was Bill, and neither of them made any excuses as to why it happened. They both just took responsibility and made no bones about it. Although I wish we did not have to spend all this time trying to correct the situation, Peter at Big O did offer us a generous alignment package at no cost, and as far as I am concerned that is more than fair compensation. I was very impressed with Big O's response and concern to to my review on Yelp. Hopefully if any issues arise next visit, it will be resolved immediately. Based on what Peter and Bill said to me, I am confident there will not be a repeat of my unfortunate experience. read more

Waste of time and money - they also tried to rip me off $400. Called in to inquire regarding waiting time for oil change - told no wait, come on in. Arrived 15 minutes later - waiting room full. Told only 3-4 cars ahead of me - figured it wouldn't be more than an hour wait. Checked in after an hour and again after 3 hours - still not changed. On-call for work and called in after 3.5 hours - asked about car which they said was being worked on and would be ready soon. Paid bill and waited for car. Mechanic pulled up and said, "sorry, I didn't get to the oil change." Left car the next day to have oil changed - oil was successfully changed but when checked was at the lowest level of normal on dip stick. Fortunately got there before closing and they added more. Wouldn't have taken time to write all of this except for they told me I needed new front brake pads which would cost $400 and that I shouldn't brake too hard or I would be in trouble - they even included some for of chemistry brake test that was supposed to show I need new pads. I thought it was odd as I had them replaced a few months ago. Took to a dealership for second opinion - no surprise - pads still look new. read more
