STAY AWAY!!! These douchebags are crooks. Last October, I spun my car out and hit a curb with my 2 drivers' side tires. I was glad to be ok, and the car didn't have any body damage, but the front and rear drivers' side tires were blown and the wheels were toast. I called a wrecker, and asked to go to Discount Tire in Flagstaff, but the wrecker driver said that he didn't think that Discount would be able to fix the wheels or the axle if it was damaged. He suggested I take it to Big O tires. He said he was friends with the guy over there, and they would do me right. I should have known that they were running a scam right then and there. ANYWAY, to try and make this brief, Big O had my car for about a month, and every time I talked to them, the price went up. They said the rims weren't salvageable, and had to be replaced. Only 2 were damaged, but they said that my rims were a "odd size" and that they couldn't find 2 more to match my 2 good ones, so I needed 4 new rims of a different size. Therefore, I needed 4 new tires instead of 2. Then there was damage to the toe link and the trailing arm. I asked them to use salvaged parts but they said they couldn't. I had to pay for: 4 tires, 4 rims, an alignment, new lug nuts, right rear toe link, right rear trailing arm, reset steering angle, front camber kit, and right rear wheel bearing. The total?? $2465.00. YUP. I was pissed to say the least, but I just needed my freakin car back, so I took it and vowed to NEVER visit Big O Tires again. Fast forward 1 year. I ran over a piece of roofing and found it tacked to my sidewall by a nail. I was going to replace my tire at Wal-Mart when I remembered the road hazard from Big O. My papers say my tires have 3-year free repair or replace road hazard warranty, so I took my damaged tire back to Big O. They got me right in and back out quickly, but I noticed that it appeared to be the same tire. I was always taught that damage to the sidewall can't be repaired, but I thought "maybe it wasn't in my tire as deeply as it looked, and they were able to salvage this tire". BIG O MISTAKE TO TRUST THAT THESE YA-HOOS KNOW WTF THEY ARE DOING! Now I am sitting on the side of I-17 in a freakin curve, no less, with a blowout on the tire that they were supposed to have fixed. I WAS DRIVING 75 MPH FOR GOD SAKES! THROUGH THESE FREAKIN MOUNTAINS!!! IDK how I was able to keep from wiping out and killing myself and who knows else. So I sit here waiting in a curve on the interstate for roadside assistance to come rescue me, praying that one of these big trucks doesn't smash me. I went in with a screw lodged in my tire. I was told from another business in town that my front brakes were on their last legs and would need to be replaced. While at Big-O getting my tire fixed, I asked if they would check the brakes. An employee (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) came back a short time later and said I was good to go. He told me the brakes are still at 60 percent and good; and he said I didn't owe him to fix my flat. I can't say enough about how well this man helped me start off a Monday on a right note. I can not give this tire shop a rating... they damaged my rim and they have the audacity to blame me for the lug nut being on to tight. When they called me to pick up the tire I asked if they damaged the tire, the general manager told me "no." I get home and my brother checks the tires, he see's the damage rim and 3 stripped lug nuts. They tell me their not going to charge me. I call corporate because dealing with the general manager is a joke. It's been a month and nothing has been done. They don't admit to their fault they don't have to pay for what they damaged. We trust them with our vehicles think they will be careful and respectful of our property. We work hard to put nice things on our vehicles and for them to damage my rim....shame on you, we trust that you handle our vehicles with care. read more

They still treated me with honesty and respect, and finished repairing my tire much more quickly than I expected. When I went here I was going for a vehicle inspection. Unfortunately my tires were bald and I needed A few upgrades which I was completely fine with. Then he shows me the bill which came out to be over $1000 which was completely unnecessary & he included things that were unecessary.Then he proceeded to look at me and say "i know it's a lot of money and it's hard when you don't have good credit I don't have good credit either" I was very thrown off guard because not once did I tell him about my credit score then he proceeds to ask what my credit score looks like and I told him it was good and I felt very uncomfortable. Then I left the store got in my car and drove away and looked down to find the cover to my air filter on the Floor of my car surrounded by a bunch of debris and leaves. Right before I went to get my inspection I spent about an hour and a half deep cleaning my car so that it would be clean for them and they just a bunch of stuff on my car floor like it was nothing. And then proceeded to not mention anything about it and told me I was good to go I just left very confused, uncomfortable and I don't plan on going back. read more

These guys will fuck up your car as soon as look at it. Went in for an oil change on my girlfriends car because we had a $15 coupon and walked away with $500 bill. The car had, had its previous oil change done here and when we returned for the next one, they found the threads had been stripped out on the drain plug (from the previous oil change). This resulted in us having to pay for a brand new oil pan with no apology or understanding from the staff as to the fact that they had stripped out the threads in the first place! I'll never be going here ever again. I wouldn't trust them with a bicycle. read more

Absolutely horrible. This place is the definition of a sleazy repair shop. I went in for a brake issue (figured out I needed all 4 pads replaced and all 4 rotors resurfaced). They were going to charge me about $630. That seemed like a lot. And I know what you're thinking: "Don't go to a tire shop for a brake job". I checked with the Big O Tires back home in Longmont, CO. They said they'd only charge me $362 for the same job and parts. The guys here in flagstaff were completely unwilling to negotiate on the price. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. But they still charged me $43 for a brake inspection..... The Big O I was used to back home was my go-to repair shop for almost anything. That is not the case here in flagstaff. Never go to these guys for anything brake related, I certainly won't be giving them any kind of business after that experience. read more

Woke up to a flat tire. Filed it with air but could hear a slow leak. We drove straight to Big O (in pajamas) to get it looked at. The guys took the car in before they officially opened, found the problem (broken valve stem,) and replaced it. No charge and we were out of there by 5 after 8. It took 15 minutes total. Always nice. Worst tires I have ever purchased. Tread lasted less than a year with under 12,000 miles on them. Service is terrible as well. They no longer make appointments so be prepared to be turned away or to wait for hours. They do not return emails so don't bother trying to contact them that way if you need a response. You'll be put on hold for at least 5 minutes every time you call. They are cheap, I'll give them that. But my time is worth something too. And they clearly do not value their customers. read more

The wait for the oil change and tire rotation was just over an hour. The excuse to change the front driver's side signal bulb was ridiculous, "we have to remove the bumper." Even after letting them know that I've had it changed twice before during the tires being rotated. The next excuse well "that's what the guide states." I found two videos on YouTube that show how to go through the wheel well to get to the bulbs. I guess they don't understand anything about customer service, it's the little things you do get people to come back for other repairs. read more

I was in Flagstaff to move my daughter out of her dorm for the summer and after a very crazy day realized my brakes were "failing". Since I knew we had to drive downhill all the way to Phoenix the timing couldn't have been worse. I had a complete brake job and alignment from Big O in Mesa in August and when I drove in to James shop on Walgreen street I hoped against hope that me and my 2 girls wouldnt be stranded in Flagstaff and that whatever happened would be covered under my warranty. The guys went right to work and I nervously paced the shop and tried to watch what was happening, so afraid of being "a clueless and desperate woman that would be taken advantage of". Turns out the brake fluid was the culprit and was not properly done during my August brake job in Mesa. James and his team called the other shop and went to bat for me and then fixed the problem with my brake fluid all for free. Best of all he put me so at ease that I knew I could trust the repair and totally turned around what had been a very bad day. I made it down the mountain all the way to the Valley safely with my two daughters and a fully loaded car. They are truely 5 star guys. Wish I lived close enough to make them my Home Store. every time I come here for something like a wheel alignment, the mechanics after they meet with their service managers try to tell me about non existing "problems" like a faulty gasket or try to get me to have perfectly good parts replaced to pad their bill. I've seen people forking over $600.00 to over $1000. I've often wondered how much of that is for legitimate repairs. I'm fairly good mechanic and challenge them when their fiction gets too wild for me, they usually change their tune after being challenged with the truth. this place is a fraud shop...woe to the unsuspecting young mom and her kids who roll up to this den of thieves! read more

After shopping around a little bit, we found a decent price on tires at big O in East Flag. The sales manager there was friendly and helpful. After driving away and seeing metal pieces fly off the tire (probably from something in the road, but couldn't be sure), we went back to have the work double checked. That was all fine and good, but then a couple days later I got on the highway and the steering wheel started shaking like crazy - back to big O. At this point I think they just wanted to get rid of us, because they rushed to "fix" the problem, but as soon as I was back on the road, the car was right back to shaking. I finally had to go to a big O at a different location where they fixed the issue with no problems. I can't believe it took 4 visits just to get a set of tires on correctly, and we were treated like an inconvenience. I hate to be the writer of bad reviews, but DON'T SHOP HERE. read more

The owner lied said he knew nothing about me having issues with my truck. Beware of franchise shops. Which all Big O tires are. They can do as they please. My vehicle broke down about a mile & 1/2 away. Rack & pinion snapped. This happened about 3:00 PM. I called and asked Big O if i could get my truck towed there and whether they had time to repair it. Not only did they say certainly, they arranged for a tow service to pick me up. about 2 hrs faster than Allstate Motor Club could. They replaced the R & P, aligned it and had me out by 5:15. This place now gets all my business. I worked at Les Schwab (tire/brake store) for three years, so I have a fair understanding of the business. I shopped for tires in town for my Jeep Grand Cherokee last summer. The best price was not at Big O, but they did work with me to get very close to the lowest price for a comparable tire. I also got an oil change at a great price! (Very Appreciated!) Eight months later, I am shopping for tires for my 1 ton dually. I found that Big O had the lowest price on the exact tires I wanted. These 10 ply tires were even the all terrain tread that I wanted. (Very Appreciated!) I also needed an oil change, rotors turned, and brake check on the dually, so I dropped it off and told them I would pick it up at the end of day. They called me around 2:00 to let me know that they were running behind and said they would call me later to keep me updated. (Very Appreciated!) Sure enough, they called me at 4:00 and asked if they could keep it overnight and finish the next day, due to some emergency walk ins. This was no skin off my back since I didn't need my truck right away, so I told them to take care of the people in dire straights first. My truck was done by 10:00 the next morning and I was surprised to find that they did not turn the rotors because they were getting close to the minimum spec and the pads were at 40%. Instead of turning them, they recommended running the brakes to end of life and replacing the rotors and pads at the same time, providing that the shaking was not terrible while braking (it is a minor shake and only on occasion). This was a mechanically sound recommendation that saved me money. (Very Appreciated!) I just took my wife's Civic in for an oil change as a walk in and, not only did they squeeze me in, they told me that the brakes, the filters, and all the fluids were in great shape. Then they told me that this oil change was on the house for being a loyal customer! (Very Appreciated!) SUMMARY - For generally great prices on tires, sound mechanical advice without bogus sales pitches for things you don't need, great customer service and appreciation - I now trust Big O Tires. Just had a brake flush done.... or rather I PAID for one. they DID NOT flush my brakes, all they did was replace the fluid in the reservior! I watched the whole thing and then they said they were done with the job and billed me over 70 bucks. When I questioned them about it, they lied to me saying they did the work I paid them for! Never going to these people again, the techs in the back are lazy and cut corners, all the while joking around with each other instead of doing the work I paid them for, and then lying to me about it as If I didn't just watch them!
