Second experience here, disappointed again. Most unprofessional customer service. They are close to my home, so went in for an oil change, Saturday. Guy at counter told me they were very busy, to 'come back Monday.'. Called Monday for an appointment. Put on hold for 6 min - no problem , may be busy, I decided to call back. Lady on the line makes me an appointment for Monday afternoon. Walk in, guy at counter takes one look at me and says 'come back tomorrow'. When I said I have an appointment, he rudely challenged me if I have a confirmation number (no hello, no offer to make me an appointment etc). I ignored him and spoke to the girl at the other counter who had made my appointment on the phone. She arranged the oil change. I left the car to be worked on. I concerns with the work. Prior experience. Had small leaks on two tires. Came in with a big-o-tire coupon for a free flat fix. I offered to pay for the second tire assuming the coupon only worked for one tire. Same guy above, did an inspection, told me I needed to change my tires due to wear, he would not fix the leak. May be he is concerned about my safety or may be he is just trying to sell me on tires and not honor their own offer? . There are multiple oil change places and tire replacement shops in the area locally where you will find professional and competent service, that you might consider. read more

Was trying to become new client of this service. Needed just to change oil and rotate tires. From Big O Tires web site I requested an appointment. There were no same day ones, but I was okay to wait and chose time slot suggested by the site. Shortly after that I received "appointment request confirmation" with the promise to review my request. Some time later I received one more email with words like: "We are sorry, but there is a potential conflict with your appointment request. A store associate will be reaching out to you shortly to coordinate other options." First of all that is weird since that was they who suggested available time slot. Anyway, I read "potential conflict" and "associate will reach me out" as they are not sure about the conflict and I can go if not contacted by "associate". Nobody have reached me out, of course. When arrived at the service in appointment time I was told my reservation had been rejected and I was free to go away. Nice job, folks! I had a slow leak in my tire due to a nail and, they were busy the day I decided to stop in. Albert made sure to fit me in the next day. I got off work late but they were nice enough to repair my tire and rotate and balance my tires at the end of the day. They also let me know that my rim was bent. Great service. read more

I went to get new tires and have them check the front end because of an odd sound I heard from the right side when turning sharply in reverse. They came back with a laundry list of parts and service that "needed" to be done, including left and right control arms, front strut complete assembly, shocks, and sway bar link. Total was almost $3,000. I decided to get a second opinion from my Toyota dealer who has always worked on this car. They put it up on the lift and showed me that all the parts that Big O wanted to replace were in good condition, and reminded me that I had some of that same work done, at Toyota, just a year prior. So the Big O guys were just trying to scam me. Now let's talk about the tire purchase. This is for a 10 year old minivan. They tried to sell me $260 tires, claiming they had no other tires that would fit my van. A Sienna. Like the most common van on the planet. Of course when I said no, some more affordable tires miraculously showed up. Finally, for the alignment they asked if I wanted t a 6 month, 12 month, or 18 month alignment. WTF? This refers to how long they warranty the work. Never heard of such a ridiculous thing. read more

Made an appointment online for 3pm for an oil change, brake and alignment inspection. Mike was the technician who helped me out. I received a call about an hour later regarding my car's alignment that they recommend me getting it done. They had a deal going on for 4-wheel alignment so I gave them the OK. Within 30-40 mins my car was finished being serviced. My groupon paid for the a full synthetic oil change that comes with a tire rotation and 21-point inspection so I did not pay out of pocket for that. I'm one satisfied customer and will drive up from San Jose in the future. read more

This guys are very dishonest and try to up sell you on tires warranty etc. I went there to take care of a warranty issue I waited 1-2 hours. I even got an oil change and continue to wait for them to contact Michelin regarding an issue with tires that had 37k miles on them. Their reps lacked on customer service and seemed as they were angry or upset that I was there. When she finally spoke to Michelin after I left she pursued Michelin to not cover my tires. After doing some research I found out Big O tires is Michelin's #1 tire distributor and it's more concerned about making money than the customers safety as it's obvious it happened in my case. I sent a picture to Michelin and they immediately send me to another shop to cover all my tires as they believed it's a defect in the tires and it was important to get them all replaced before a blow out. I mention my experience to the Michelin representative and they said they will reach out to them to ensure they are properly trained. This place is dishonest !!! read more

I went to this Big O when they first opened. They outright lied and told me that my front end suspension was frozen and need to be completely replaced. Geez, I had an alignment a year before and it was fine. Front End Suspensions don't freeze up in a year. So I just figured they were just lying. 3-21-22 I just went to another place, and had an alignment done just fine. This store is run by crooks and liars. This was previously a Midas, with a very bad reputation. I am guessing they kept on the same people. read more

I purchased a Groupon good for one synthetic oil change at Big O Tires. I work in Silicon valley, and opted to redeem it at this business close to work. The day after purchase, I made an appt, showed up on time, checked in, confirmed coupon would be accepted, received a healthy attempt to upsell me unneeded tires, and proceeded to wait about an hour for my service. An hour later I was summoned, and was later told they couldn't service my Tacoma because the oil drain plug was stuck! I've changed my own oil, and never had any such issues with my dependable as heck Toyota vehicle (and neither had my competent mechanic.) I questioned this again, and was told "..you may need a new drain plug or oil pan....we didn't want to cause damage....we cannot perform the job." I was still in disbelief, but left. 2 weeks later, on Friday, I had my personal mechanic perform that service & not only did they have NO problem getting the drain plug off, but he even sent me a video showing how easy it came off with a HAND WRENCH ! I still have the video. Needless to say, I'm now pissed as the lie, and waste of my time, it's clear to me they had no desire to honor my Groupon. I will be complaining to the manager at this facility, and warning customers on other platforms to beware of them. I've received a credit from Groupon. I've had very good service at the Dublin Big O, but I suggest avoiding this MOUNTAIN VIEW Big O and hope this helps someone out. UPDATE 11/25/20 I received a phone call today from the Manager, who was very pleasant & explained why they chose not to do the service. He apologized, and offered me a free oil change. I appreciated the call and the offer. Based upon my experience, I gave an additional star but won't be back. read more

I went in to have my Subaru tires checked. Jorge attended to me and inspected the tires thoroughly. He told me the front two tires were unevenly worn out and needed replacement. He advised that though back tires had treads left, there were tiny crack showing due to age and prudent to get them replaced. A wheel alignment would fix the uneven wear problem in the future. I wanted the OEM Yokohama tires, though Big-O-Tires don't carry them, he said it won't be a problem to order them and honor prices at comparable stores like Americas Tires or Costco. The wheel alignment cost were discounted as well. I was very happy with the Customer interaction and professional manner in which Jorge and rest of the crew conducted business. I even had them do the wheel alignment done for my Camry for which I had recently replaced the tires at a nearby big tire store to fix the uneven worn tire issue. I highly recommend this place as I was quite satisfied with the service that they provided and manner in which they did it, I will come back here again ! read more

I had an oil service done at this place on El Camino and somehow they managed to lose one of the engine covers underneath. I knew it was there before I dropped it off because I specifically checked underneath. They just shrugged it off and denied. I don't recommend this place for oil service. read more

The service was a huge disappointment. I went there to have a flat tire replaced and to have an oil change done. Multiple things made me upset with this shop: 1. They mounted a wrong tire. They are not even able to select and order the right tire 2. They suggest to replace the timing belt. They were just after my money, the timing belt is totally fine. 3. After the oil change they said that they couldn't reset the oil change light. I insisted to have it checked again and got another mechanics to look at it, and it worked without any problem. So either the first mechanics didn't know how to do it, which is concerning, or they were to lazy. Anyway, this is not professional. 4. Repair time was two hours longer than scheduled. They stated that they have to wait for the guy to do the oil change. Shouldn't they know before? Overall, this shop is not professional, not trustworthy and just after your money. Never ever again and I strongly recommend going to another place. read more

I normally do not give five ratings but in this case I wanted to acknowledge Tai and his team for great customer service and working with the customer. I bought four tires there a year plus ago and did NOT buy the extra wear warranty. My front two tires were worn down to the tread and Tia who I believe is the manager explained it to me that they were not covered but said he would work with me which he did. When I went to get the tires I had to sit and wait for almost two hours and had to go back to get the alignment. I was not happy they had not completed the job when I was the first person there in the morning. When i went back in the next day Tia again appologized I had to come back. He then sat down with me and showed me how the alignment was off and again and apologized again I had to come back. Bottom line is they did put customer first and appreciated that. read more

Super rude. I walked in for a quick oil change, there was one person in line in front of me when I walked in I was completely ignored. When the customer in front of me left, I was not acknowledged. I went up to the front desk and asked if I could get an oil change. And he responded oh yeah girl in like 5 hours in a rude sarcastic tone. Highly recommend! I am from out of town & needed an alignment on my car the day before Christmas. Wes & Matt were extremely polite & said I could bring my car in. Upon looking at my car, Miguel the mechanic noticed that my car was in need of a critical repair in order for me to be able to drive 5 hours home. Miguel was so professional and kind. He fully explained what I needed & how it worked and even showed me the parts that had the damages. I was so grateful to them to take the time to make sure my car was safe to drive home on Christmas weekend. Highly recommend!! I would be repeat customer hands down! read more

I was given a price for one tire and tire insurance for four tires and he didn't like the price I was given by the very nice rep that worked there Tai said I was underquoted for the tire plus insurance it wasn't a quote the price was given to me before they started the tire change. I love these guys! Been coming for years because their service is great and they are transparent. Their services can take a while but that's because they are thorough. I have come multiple times and they have told me I don't need the service I think I need. Yesterday I came in inquiring about breaks. They offered me their recommendation and stated to come back in a few months, but they are good for now (after being told otherwise from another mechanic). Took my car in for a tire pressure leak. Turns out the wheel was cracked and that's where the tire pressure was leaking out from. They had to order a new wheel and when I arrived a few days later to get it replaced, was not happy with the quality of the used wheel that they installed. I talked to the manager Albert and he got a new (used) wheel for me and a few days later replaced the cracked one. Because of the customer service I will most likely come back. Received the worst customer service today. I had purchased a warranty and when I called to have a blown tire replaced the rep didn't tell me I had free tow service. Also, the manager told me I had to repurchase the warranty. Not true. The rep helping me today keeps arguing with me. This place is a scam. I have a very mixed feelings about today's oil change experience. Bought a full synthetic oil on Groupon. And in the end got what I paid for, but... wish there were no problems I faced. Scheduling within a few days was pretty easy with them. 1. When I bring a coupon in, the car somehow was scheduled for a synthetic blend instead of a full synthetic. Had to notice that and let them know before they started a job. Got no apology however. 2. Asked to put a reminder sticker on a car window, but they don't do this anymore. 3. They promised to call me when the car is ready. Came back in 1.5 hours and the car was already done, but nobody actually called me yet. 4. In addition to what I payed on Groupon, they charged me extra $9, which is I think a bit dishonest practice. 5. Lady upfront glanced at my tires and insisted they need immediate replacement, and Big-O just got what I need. Checked tires myself with a penny test and it shows tires are good for some more years to run. Conclusion? Same as above. 6. After I left, immediately noticed a new noise coming out of a fan. What's the most alarming is that when I came back, they started telling me that they "only did an oil change" and this couldn't cause any new noise. Asked them to take a look anyways, and they reluctantly agreed to spend on this "maximum 2-3 minutes". The repairman was nice and found the issue. When he checked a cabin filter during service, some leaves got into fan and caused a noise. So obviously the noise was actually caused by their inspection. I do not blame the repairman, but I do blame their complete absence of responsibility for what they did. So if you decide to have a business with Big-O Tires, have this in mind! read more

I was a walk-in this morning for a tire alignment. I showed up at 8am sharp to drop my car off. A representative came outside just as I pulled in. I thought he was there to open the garage, but he actually had come outside to greet me. That had never been done before at America's Tire, Wheel Works, or Firestone. I was very impressed. I was done with the drop off process in 5 minutes. I asked them not to text me when it was ready because I would just swing by at the end of the day to pick it up, and they respected that request. I was almost certain I'd get a text anyway, but they remembered! When I came at the end of the day to pick it up, two other representatives were there, and both were very service oriented and cordial as well. I even heard one on the phone offer to stay 20 minutes later for another client who was worried they wouldn't make it in time to pick up the car before closing. He even offered to hold the car until the next day without charge. Every single customer-facing person was so well mannered and good natured. And the cherry on top: when I started my engine, they had switched my radio station to my hip hop preset and had the volume up loud. I'm smitten. read more

I chose Big O Tires in Mountain View after two other calls, so that says a lot. But the really positive part started when I got my car home and the three passenger doors wouldn't unlock with the remote. It may have been coincidental that it occurred just after service (read on) , but Ty told me to bring it back and he'd see what he could do. After some detective work, he found and fixed the problem (resetting a computer on the car), which even the dealership didn't suggest when I called them. Ty's and the others' dedication to fixing this problem was outstanding and this business gets my highest recommendation. read more

Not too happy with my experience here. They replaced my TPM with a new one which didnt work. I would have thought they would have tested it before I picked up the car. This meant i had to schedule another trip to get this new one replaced. The young guy that helped us was nice and helpful but didnt care for the management at all who came across quite brash and pompous. read more
