I'm not going to lie - I don't know much about cars and I have always serviced mine at various Jiffy Lubes. But I know I'll be coming to this company and this location from now on for three reasons: 1. The price of a simple oil change here is about less than half the cost at a Jiffy Lube ($24 compared to $60) 2. I absolutely love the manager and the assistant manager - Josh and Fernando - they're friendly, efficient, and knowledgable 3. I felt like the service was very honest - they gave me a list of things that my car would need (new spark plugs, brake fluid, etc) and since it was pricey, I told them I would have come back after my next paycheck. But they let me know that my Maintenance Check light would turn off right after an oil change because it's all that it really needed right now. Most places will try to get as much as they can out of you, but I think this store really works hard to build trust between them and their customers. Needless to say, I got the oil change and just stayed and chatted with them. I'm so incredibly happy that I don't have to worry about my car and what was potentially wrong with it anymore. I was at the store this morning for an oil change and have them see why the check engine soon light was on and check the emergency brake cable. These guys are incompetent! Didn't turn off the check engine light and didn't tell me why it was on. The guy up front, Fernando, told me the brake cable was fine and didn't need anything. Then when I got in the car and the engine light was still on he asked the mechanic who said he only checked the brake cable and it was broken!!! Really, he had just told me it was fine. Apparently not. Then the mechanic told me he never checked as to why the check engine light was on!!! What the hell did they do while I was waiting for an hour and a half? When I came back to get the car I had to wait in the lobby 17 minutes before Fernando even came up front to check me out! Horrible service and he was extremely rude as well. This Big O Tires location royally f**ked up my steering wheel. I went in there to get my tires rotated, and they gave me some bull crap story about my car needing an alignment done. I said fine. What happens next, they screwed up my steering wheel, and now it's off center. It wasn't off center before I took it in. So for about 3-4 weeks I would go in there to have them adjust the steering wheel, and each time it was as if they didn't do a thing. The last time I took it in they made it even worse! I told them that I wanted my money back and that I would take it to the dealer where they wouldn't f**k it up, and they were still trying to sell my on some bull crap that I know wasn't needed for the car. If you need tires fine buy them there but don't let them screw with your wheel alignment! Also the waiting area is dirty and smelly! read more

Don't go here. They try to rip you off. They charge more for everything than other Big O Stores. Everything from disposal fees, tire mounting, state tire tax, cost of the same tire, try to add on the Oxygen without being asked, etc. DO NOT GO to this shop. This place is THE BEST place to go for tires. They are fair, courteous and very knowledgeable about many tire types and can recommend a great tire for your car. So I've been to this Big O tires a lot. I met Surf the manager there about 5 years ago and what great customer service. He is to be trusted. I also met there top mechanic Javier this guy is truly a professional. They totally took care a my car from oil changes, new breaks, tires and when my transmission went out I called Surf and again he took care of me. When surf moved on to Chino Hills he assured me that the great service wouldn't stop. So it's time for tires on my newer car and I went in and met Josh. Just like Surf said Josh has been extremely professional. Also super cool to see Javier again a man you can trust to take care of you and your car. I guess the easiest way to explain Big O on Katella is that they make me feel like family. I will continue to let everyone I know that these guys can be trusted. Great service and they treat their customers great. They helped fix my car and installed new headlights which made my car look brand new. They also rotated my tires and changed a couple of them too and it even feels brand new when I drive it. Again, great costumer service and they fix your car very fast. read more

Today my husband and I decided to go for a drive through the canyon, beautiful day in So Cal. Five miles from home, the low tire pressure warning came on. We have a NAIL in our tire. Went to two tire places, each quoted an hour and a half wait. Called Big O and spoke with Dan, who said "come on over, it will take 10 minutes. " I was already in love wirh Dan, but they were quick, inexpensive and the BEST service. We were greated and helped out by Fernando, who was so friendly. Thanks Big O! I'm no regular here, but of the times that I have been here, the service was great! I expect every car shop to upsell their services, so it didn't surprise me that they wanted to have me take care of some items at the same time as my oil change. When I had questions about the upsell, the gentleman at the counter answered thoroughly. I've been to places where they were short with me & just wanted me to spend more money. I feel this is one of the more sincere car shops. When I said "no thank you", the gentleman did not push the matter. This made for a very pleasant experience. I have been taking my 2005 Camry and 2008 Infinity G35 to this Big O Tire for the last 8 years. I only take my cars to the dealership to be services because I never want to run into any problems with the dealership saying that another auto shop ruined the care or did something wrong. I started by only purchasing my tires from this Big O. I always price shop and compare their prices to 2-3 other shops. They ALWAYS give me the best deal for the high quality tires, Michelin. After a couple years of owning the cars the tires were wearing unevenly. Of course I could replace the tires, but the problem would come back. Big O told me that if they regularly align and balance my tires they will wear evenly. I purchase the 5 year unlimited alignment package for both cars and have the wheels aligned with every oil change (still get the oil changed at the dealerships). I have not had ANY issues with my tires since. I then needed breaks. Big O is able to get Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) car parts. I compared the prices to the dealership and other auto stores and again Big O had the best price by more then 25% even with the dealer coupon. Bog O also has a 12 month warranty on the brake pads. I have also replaced my shocks on the Camry at Big O. I highly recommend this particular Big O Tire. In the last 8 years the store had been run by three different managers. Two of them took over other locations and they now have Josh as the store manager since April 2013. I cannot say enough good things about Josh! He is HONEST! Josh is able to explain what my car needs or does not need any why. He is very personable. Josh has demonstrated to me multiple times that he is never trying to sell me something I do not need. Josh has actually told me to hold off on a service because it was not necessary at this time. I really trust this store and have been extremely pleased with all of their services. I will NEVER take my care elsewhere to have the tires, breaks, or suspension worked on. Not even the dealership. I have referred multiple family members and close friends and they have all had the same experience. Thank you Josh and Fernando, assistant manager, for providing such honest and professional experience every time I call or visit your store. Big O Tires is lucky to have you both! This place deserves five stars for customer service! I was calling around last minute for a shop to install my rims. This place was the only one able to so I came in. Junior is the man! He was so friendly and made sure I was aware of everything they did before I left. They even installed a new tire pressure sensor for free. I Love this Big O location!!! I used to live in the IE and went to the Big O in Rancho Cucamonga (They're great too) but when I moved to OC, they recommend this location so I went to try it. Since day 1, the entire staff has been nothing but honest, helpful and friendly! Since I'm a woman, I've been taken advantage of before at dealerships and other locations but not here. They always show me and tell exactly what I need done with my car and what I will need next. I trust these guys very much and will never take my car any where else! This business is super fair and transparent. I spoke with Jr. right after they opened, who quoted me a price over the phone, and brought my car in for service later in the day. While they gave me a price over the phone, I expected a different story once I arrived. However, I was pleasantly surprised when this was not the case. Jr. met me in front of the repair shop and immediately remembered our conversation over the phone. After a sincere assessment of my tire situation, he recommended two new new tires instead of the single tire I initially came in for. Even though he recommend more tires than I initially wanted, I never felt pressured or that he was trying to up sell me just to make a quota. I would definitely recommend this business to a friend and plan on using them in the future. Also, it's only ten bucks per tire for a nation-wide, no questions asked, repair/replacement warranty. I've been a long time customer of this particular Big O Tires because they are always friendly, fast and super helpful.

I wouldn't trust them to inflate a bicycle tire. They tried to tell me a leaking oil pan drain plug is a maintenance item. When I went to the store to argue the nonsense of this statement, they said another shop performed the last maintenance and stripped the drain plug. It sounded like stock answers to customer complaints. Besides the first oil change at the dealer, Big O is the only shop that serviced the car. Prior to this set of lies, we brought the car to them on several previous occasions due to the oil pan leak and a rear differential leak we noticed from the area we park the car. On all previous visits to them to diagnose the leaks, we were told that everything was fine. Fast forward, after losing my trust, I immediately took the car to another local repair shop and they rethreaded the oil pan drain plug, replaced the inexpensive gasket, and notified me the rear differential had zero oil from the pinion seal. They replaced the seal on the differential and with no help from Big O the car is fine. We are fortunate that the oversight by Big O on the differential didn't cost us a complete differential rebuild. Never again, this Big O or any other. They have lost my trust and business forever. I have been getting tires here for some time... so when my rear tire started losing air, I went in to see if they could repair or replace it. I waited about 20 minutes and was told that my car was done. I took out my credit card and asked how much I owed. The manager said no charge... there was a construction spike in my tire, but it was easily patched. Junior and his team are the best! This is my first post on Yelp! Strange that as a self professed foodie my first post would be for a random tire shop! Having just drove for two weeks cross country from Boston I came to discover that my front right tire was slowly leaking air. I pulled into this location and they took great care of me. Didn't try to sell me anything...just took my car and returned it 15-minutes later leak-free. BUT the mostly amazing thing was they didn't even charge me a dime for the time/effort! I can't believe this day and age that things like that still exist! It was a great introduction to California for me and I will definitely be back for my next set of tires! read more
