Oh and I can't legally let you get back on the road without it being fixed." Meaning your female family member or friend will be "inclined" (scammed) into doing way more work. No garage or shop is legally allowed to keep your car unless it's fixed. The car was worth $2400, the work done amounted to $6000+. I came here about a week ago to get my Honda Accord fixed. I knew exactly what needed to be fixed on it. They proceeded to check the car for free, which was nice of them, but proceeded to make up a bunch of stuff that was wrong with the car when I knew none of that was wrong because my grandpa is a mechanic and had checked it, and I had gone to other previous stores that had checked it I thought this was a reputable place so I came here to get it fixed at this location, but they wanted to check it themselves before doing any work which makes sense they later came to tell me my car had a leak. My brakes were bad and that several other things needed to be fixed and that it would cost $3000 that is ridiculous considering that I had no leak and I know for a fact, my brakes were fine cause I checked them earlier that day they tried to take advantage of me because I am a underage girl just because I am a girl does not mean I'm stupid. read more

After being told by Firestone in Lincoln that the nail in my nearly new tire could not be repaired and that I needed a new tire that was hard to find and would have to be shipped for an extra $100, I started calling around town to find other options. From Sam's to Costco to Goodyear, no one had it in stock. Except Big O. In fact, even though Big O was closed, I was able to use their online tool to discover that they had my tire in stock, that it would be cheaper than anywhere else and that I could schedule an appointment for 9 am the next day. Traffic was bad, so I called to tell them I would be late, and the person on the phone said, "Don't worry, we are here to serve you. We will take you when you get here. Please drive safely." Despite my great experience so far, my jaw clenched when they told me to have a seat while they inspected my car from tires to tail pipe to windshield wiper. I decided to walk over to Starbucks, braced for a long wait and an upsell. Instead, I when I returned 20 minutes later, my car was done and ready, and they told me I was good to go. I was so surprised that I couldn't process what they were telling me: they had repaired my tire FOR FREE! Big O will now be my first choice when I need new tires. Not only were they honest, they had great customer service, a clean and comfortable lobby, and they are conveniently located next to a Starbucks. :) read more

I went to the AutoNation dodge in Roseville and after taking a quick look at my tire, they said they couldn't patch it and I would need to replace not only that tire, but all of my tires which were 13 months old. I came here for a Groupon oil change. The staff checked the oil level under the hood and asked a lot of questions when checking in which felt unusual because I've been to multiple Big O Tires locations. Later, they called saying my coolant system was weak and recommended a $375 service, plus new tires. I declined since my engine was recently replaced (coolant is part of the service) and still under warranty. When my friend picked up the car, they pushed the coolant service again, warning it could cause more issues. They also said there's crust on the radiator which is new news to me. I took it to my mechanic the same day. He found no leaks or problems at all. Be careful! They seem to upsell unnecessary services. Always get a second opinion. read more

We had an excellent experience with CJ at Big O Tires in Roseville! My partner and I were traveling from Portland, OR and we noticed something wasn't right with our car. We were able to make an appointment and be seen the very next morning. CJ and Doug discovered our tires had cracked and we're bulging and unsafe to drive. YIKES! This was after Les Schwab in Oregon told us we were safe to keep driving to Cali. CJ went to pick us up brand new AWD tires at a great price the very same day. They replaced our brake pads, rotors and tires for a reasonable price. They had us in and out within 4 hours on 4th of July weekend. Came in for an oil change and tire rotation at 8am. After inspection they recommended that my control arms for tires to be changed and that it could be a safety issues. I use my car to take my kid to School so I didn't want to take any changes. 1500 dollars later they pushed on me hard on changing the struts next because it was also a safety issue. That would bring my total to 3k. I've been to many Big o tires locations and this is the first time these items came up. After them keeping my car all day when I came to pick up my car at the stated time from them they then told me that my was not done yet and that it would be another 20 mins. I would not recommend this location because the do not service their customers honorably or morally correct. Worst experience I have ever had with Big o tires. read more

I used a Groupon for an oil change last year and was impressed with Big O Tires on S. Harding. Yesterday I picked up a big bolt in my tire. AAA put on my spare and said the tire could not be repaired. All my tires were getting near end of life so I shopped for tires. I called Big O and spoke with CJ. Super nice guy and gave me options and prices. When I got there he said the tires I wanted weren't part of their Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotion but he gave it to me anyway. He didn't talk down to me like I was some dumb old lady. He said they could do a free check to see if I needed alignment. It turns out I did need alignment. They also found a leak in my valve cover gasket but said that could wait until my next oil change/60K service. (I just had oil changed somewhere else but that shop didn't notice the leak). It took about 30 minutes for them to replace all 4 tires and complete the alignment. My car rides and steers much more smoothly after the new tires and alignment. Great team, great service. Would highly recommend this location! We happened to get a Groupon deal for an oil change and made an appointment on Valentines Day and were in and out in no time with the best customer service possible. Fast forward two weeks we started having issues with the suspension in our car. We purchased our car from Carmax along with the warranty and were told that they work with Maxcare warranty and can have our car fixed at this location instead of waiting for an appointment with Carmax which was weeks out. My fiancé called them to schedule an appointment and was put in contact with CJ, who from the very beginning of the conversation was extremely helpful and offered to waive the diag fee for us. From then on he has been consistently advocating for us through maxcare dragging their feet for over a week. Each and every single time I called to get status he was the one that answered and assured me he is doing everything in his power to have them approve our claim because they wanted to deny it at first. Fast forward a week later and our claim has been approved after MANY MANY MANY phone calls a day from Cj to the claim center. We can't express how much we appreciate the due diligence done by Cj and the absolute amazing care they have taken of us as customers and our car. I had my oil change with Big O Tires on Sat 06/01 at 1pm, 2:03pm i got out the shop, they are close to the freeway so about to get in the freeway I heard a tikking sound, next exit is 2.3 miles away and cant stop at the shoulder bcoz of construction. Exited at Auburn and stopped at another shop, waiting 1 hr and a mechanic informed me that they have not put the cover undearneath my car properly so its flapping when im driving at the freeway. (Similar as Katherine review 10 months ago) I got in contact with Ken and helpful I should say. Monday I saw a leak by my driveway, thought it was my boyfriend car because i dont see any leaks before. Wednesday my boyfriend told my go ahead and back up let me check if there is a leak because my mom said she saw a leak on the driveway when you left to go to work. He said yes theres a leak give me a tissue let me see if its oil. and yes indeed it is. I took a photo everyday of the leak and wipe it with a tissue so see if its oil and yes its still oil Been communicating with them since, Thurs 06/06 i left my work and got to the shop at 2pm. Around 250pm, i was told they found a leak at the engine timing cover (which the checklist on my very 1st visit shows no leaked when it was inspected) I did monitor my car and the leaked. i still keep communicating with Big O tires. (i mean who would like to missed few hours of work, being late at work, not being safe in driving) my 3rd time coming to Big O tires I spoked to the Manager Mike, he showed me where the leak is coming from etc, and I thought he was right. at this point i am still trying to understand. He said bring it to the dealer and they can call us when they have questions. Soooo!!! went to the dealer, found out?!! Well,the dealership called me and asked did Big O tires told me anything about the oil change I said no, the guy from the dealer said, yes timing cover has leak but also there are some they missed to tell you, here are some result they gave me, about the services from Big O tires (i have more but this is not connected to my service to big o tires) OIL FILTER NOT TORQUE LEFT LOOSE OIL/FILTER WITH DRAIN PLUG(LEAKING FROM WASHER) COOLANT LEAKING and these all came from your previous change oil. all mind you, i used to park at my garage and no visible of leak from my car, i started parking by the driveway because garage is now starting to get hot due to the weather which im glad I did so i could see the difference, Why are they doing this to their customer, now i dont feel safe driving my car. Im having some trauma with what happened, has made me so frustrated. pls dont get your car done here. read more

Never left a yelp review before, but had to with the service this shop gave me and a coworker. Had a blow out in 80 had to get a tow off the freeway and got dropped off around 5:15pm 45 min before closing. They gave us the time of day and really helped us get back on the road within 45 min. Amazing thought we're going to be stuck and miss out on work due to commuting back and fourth from Reno. Everyone from the technicians who was literally a nascar pit crew, with the efficiency and professionalism and the customer service was amazing. Really thankful we got towed to this shop. read more

We had a not great experience here today for a tire change and I don't recommend it. My husband dropped off our van first thing in the morning to get the tires changed . They said they had openings and it wouldn't take too long. They paid to send him home in an uber which we thought was great, at first. However hours went by and it still wasn't done. We kept having to call in for updates and ultimately it ended up taking them the entire day and we had to get our own uber in order to get back right before closing at 6pm. They did reimburse us for the return uber trip-- but in the end they still only replaced 2 tires and weren't able to get all 4 done after having our car for over 8 hours. The hardest part was that it was not communicated to us from the start that it would take all day. And then when it was all day-- the job wasn't even completed. Definitely recommend going elsewhere for a tire change. The whole experience was really inconvenient and now we still have to go somewhere else to finish the job. read more

Came in for just an alignment. Was quoted $ 5,200.00 plus for parts and repairs they stated car needed. Didn't know Big O was an auto repair shop. Tires did need replacement which was 800.00 of the quoted amount above. 800.00 for 3 tires for a 4 door basic sedan car. Seemed expensive. Car was just serviced for the 60,000 inspection recommended 6 months ago and nothing was mentioned regarding the parts this shop states needs to be replaced. This shop even offered a free alignment because of the cost of the other parts and labor. The up sale was significant. We felt pressured to fix the problems saying to us it's only going to get worse. Decided to take the car to another shop to compare estimates. We went to another shop asking for just an alignment not telling them about big O's estimate. This shop recommended tires and an alignment. That's it! $635.00 4 tires and an alignment. No other repairs or part replacements was recommended nor required at this time! I bought a Groupon for an oil change two days ago. After I left I heard metal scraping... I did not know what was wrong with my car. When I got home I found that the metal piece under my car that protects it from people messing with my car only had two screws.. it was scraping on the ground. Where did all the other screws go? It was not like the is before I brought my car? Why did the guy who change my oil not warn me of this? It could have come off on the freeway and cause a major accident. Who does this? Who works on your car and does not disclose this? I am planning on contacting the Bureau of Automotive Repair to report them. This is terrible and a complete lack of professionalism and care. Big O tires more like BIG O LIARS! This place is nothing but a sham! My sister took her car in a while back with my nephews grandma, they had said she needed a total of 7000$ worth of work done! This did not sit with me at all. Here we are not even 90 days later and her car is having the same issues. Our friend said to take him because of course in this industry they take advantage of women with little to no car knowledge. He took her to firestone to see what they had to say and firestone had told them that nothing was ever changed! Firestone said the same parts that came with the car were the ones still on there. So 7000$ for nothing? My friend called Big O and told them what Firestone had found and they said bring it in and they will fix it. When they took it in of course they took forever and then said they would send pictures to my friend right away, it took 3 hrs to hear anything. They tried to divert away from the pictures and up sale saying they car had issues that were a danger if left untouched. My friend and sister said no but they kept trying to push for the yes which never came. Finally they said the car was ready and to come get it, still no pictures until I mentioned the pictures and videos again. They had sent them to my friend but when we went to get my sisters car we asked for the pictures again. I kept my eyes on the mans phone and the pictures were further back in his camera roll meaning there was no way those were new pictures. I didn't comment though but his demeanor changed to almost anxious. We couldn't leave without the up sale being shoved down our throats before we denied once again. I called to see if they were able to check the tired pressure on the inside tires of the dually set up on my motorhome. They did not have the tool needed but instead of telling me they could not help they ordered the tool and were able to have me come down in less than 30 minutes. They were able to check and fill up the tires in only a few minutes free of charge. I am so grateful for their quick action, friendly nature and professionalism. My husband and I have gone to Big O for years for various repairs and oil changes. I have never had a problem there (though my husband says he has), so when the time came to get new tires, I chose to get them there. I chose their best tires for my SUV and had an alignment done as well for a total of $1200. A few days later I noticed my car was drifting to the right, so I went back to have them look at it. They rebalanced all my tires and did a new alignment at no charge (warrantee work) but notified me that I needed to get new struts and control arms, and I shouldn't drive too much before getting the repair done. The quote for this was almost $3000. I'm not sure why this wasn't caught when I had the tires put on. I may have opted for cheaper tires. So, I decided to get a 2nd opinion at a different shop that I had been to before. They did a thorough inspection and test drove it. I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I didn't need any of the repairs Big O said I needed to get ASAP! I don't know why they would do this, especially since I had spent so much there just a few days before. They were so kind and caring to my face that it makes me feel sick to think of what was going on behind my back. Oh, and my car is still drifting to the right, so I will need to get another alignment done, but somewhere else. Big O will not touch my car again! read more

They were: Friendly - I dealt with a couple different people there, and both were great, but Ken is definitely my favorite. Fast - Even though I showed up at a kind of busy time, I was out of there in less than an hour. Inexpensive - Hard to beat ZERO dollars Essentially no sales pressure - Just a "if we can't fix your tire, here are your options" chat. Very mellow. Honest - They could have told me I needed a new tire and had a $250 sale, and I would have never known, but they fixed my flat and sent me on my way.
