I went in because I was having problems with my tires for weeks!! I had gone to a different shop and they kept telling me it was something with my tire pressure sensor and I kept thinking there has to be something wrong with my actual tire? The sensors kept coming back on after I put air and it keeps popping up but they just kept blaming the tire pressure sensor! Armando from Big O Tires ACTUALLY HELPED ME!! Turned out there was a NAIL IN MY TIRE!! It wasn't my sensor being faulty!! As a girl its always overwhelming going in to get your car look at! But the nice man who helped me figure out what was wrong with my car made the experience so much smoother and didn't make me feel like and idiot!!!! read more

Went in for a Transmission and Coolant flush that they recommended and since my family and i were planning on traveling to CA for a week i agreed, no lights no issues or anything with the car just regular maintenance i wanted to get done for the road trip, next minute, they were done paid for the service and wasnt told anything except have a good day, got in the car, got onto the main road and less than 1 minute away while pressing on gas it wouldn't pick up so i turned into the nearest neighbor the oil pressure light came on and car was still not picking up, pulled into a drive way and the oil pressure light came on and car just shut off on me, called BIG O and they said bring it back so same issues going on the main road car wouldn't pick up speed and by the time i got to turn into their drive way car shuts off so they come out to help push car up, they said they will go and see what the issue is and give me a call, 2 days almost 3 days pass so i call to see what was the hold up and they say "car wont turn i need a new engine" mind you this is a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder with less than 120k miles on it, nothing wrong with it no lights on everything perfectly fine until i took it to BigOs, they quoted me about no more than $9600 that would be for a New Engine and 3 Days worth of labor they couldnt compensate me for the issue, couldnt help me with a tow, Chris at the front desk said "they are not a shop" they pointed fingers at Walmart because thats were i get my oil change done and said "CarFax doesnt show walmart doing anything to your car" ... just flipping great! read more

With the holiday season you never know so I always make an appt, but I'm sure they could accommodate walk ins! He was in and out within 30 minutes and they comped the repair. Excellent service! Waste of time. Told me 1.5 - 2hr to do an alignment, came back 3 hours later and they hadn't even touched it.

I had a flat tire and needed to get it fixed at the closest business. There's an auto place by my house, but couldn't find the name on Yelp so I decided to go to Big O. They were very nice, well organized and when they were done they told me "No charge" I was really shocked and happy! I just had an addition done to my house and the contractor ripped me off in multiple ways, so I thought every business must be corrupt. Big O you know how to treat people! read more

I've always had great experiences at other Big-O-Tire locations; however, this location is pretty shady. I took my car in for CV joint replacement. Omar, the person assisting me, insisted that I replace shocks, structs, and tires and claimed they worked out a good deal for me. I knew these things needed to be changed, but I countered that I didn't want to spend that much and that repairs other than the CV joints would have to wait. At this point, they offered a no-interest payment plan and a reduced amount on the tires, so I agreed. They made the repairs, and when I went in to get my car, we filled out the payment plan forms. At one point, the total ballooned from $2800 to $6400. Omar said, "Don't pay attention to that, it's only if you don't make payments on time then the interest kicks in." He quickly scrolled past the numbers to move on and rush me. We set everything up, I got my key and left. Once I looked at the receipts, I was shocked to see that I'd been charged full price for things they said would be cheaper. Then I got the statements for the Snap payments, that thing they said would be a no-interest payment plan, yeah, that $6400 thing was actually legit and was the actual payment. Luckily, you have 100 days to pay off the exact amount without interest kicking in, so I quickly nixed the Snap payments they had set up. While I certainly should have paid more attention to the agreement, this was not what was sold to me by the staff, and it was borderline fraud. So yes, the staff lied to me about prices and the payment plan to upsell things. Do not use their Snap payment plans without reading the whole agreement; yes, they will rush you through it so that you just sign it. Get an itemized list of repair prices because they will lie to you over the phone. Better yet, go somewhere else. read more

Bought tires at Big O. The tires wore out unevenly and still had several thousand miles of what should've been a warranty for wearing out prematurely. BIG O would not warranty the tires because the technician said the tires were not rotated every 3000 miles and the warranty was void. I was pretty disappointed the last time I went here. I had a flat with my rhino Tire. I already knew from previous flats that has a tube inside. So when I rolled up I drop the tire off at the bay door and went inside. it was a Saturday morning so I wasn't surprised that I had to wait find a couple people. A woman was on the counter and asked how she could help me. I told her right away that I had a tube in it and asked if they could fix it. She says that they could and would be able to fix in about 30 to 45 minutes. I said perfect I've got to run some errands and I'll be back. About 20 minutes later I get a phone call from someone. He said that because it has a tube in it that have to order it and it wouldn't be ready till Monday. There goes my plans. I would have taken it somewhere else that could have fixed it the same day. I always get really frustrated when salesman who over sale and under deliver. If you don't KNOW, say that you don't know, and find out. read more

I came in for an alignment check because I just got a whole new set of tires (By them and this was their suggestion). The guy at the front said just so you know it will be 180 dollars. Cool. All good. Then he comes back out and says that all of my tie rods are seized. Specifically, he said because my car was so old this was bound to happen. He also said that on a scale of I shouldn't be driving my car, it was a 4/5 and this was an URGENT thing. He said that replacing all of them would be 1067 dollars. I think that the pure look of panic on my face said something because he said he could maybe get it down to 900 maybe 850 dollars. I went outside and talked to my uncle who is a mechanic, and he said that doesn't sound right, and that just before I officially got the car he had replaced the tie rods, therefor they are only about 2, 2 and a half years old. I decided to drive it down to my uncle, and he told me that all it was was that it needed one tie rod end on the inner passenger side. He said he ordered the part and it was COMPLETELY safe for me to drive my car. I haven't gotten the bill yet, but I can assure you it won't be even close to 1000 dollars. What makes me feel worse is that I came in as a 16-year-old girl, new to driving, and was told that I needed to spend all of this money that I didn't have for something that wasn't even an issue. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was too much. So not cool. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment for 10 am to get an alignment done. When I arrived I asked about the duration the work would take and was told about an hour. At 11:10 I checked in since I hadn't received an update. My truck still hadn't been taken into the shop. I was told it was just about to go in and shouldn't take long. At 11:47, I still hadn't heard anything so I checked in again. My truck still hadn't been taken into the shop. Why take an appointment if my car is going to sit two hours before being worked on? If you're going to tell a customer that it won't be much longer and things change, don't leave them in the dark. Had the team just told me it would be 2+ hours for an alignment I would have made other arrangements rather than just wasting time at the shop. I get service here cuz I got my tires and shocks here. When Big O was selling/installing new product, the service was good. When I come in for regular maintenance and service the quality isn't there. The Big O locations are all franchised so you can't go to other locations in the valley. They don't share info among locations nor do warranties and service plans carry over. read more

So how long has the new manager been in place ? I just went to change my 19 yr old daughters brakes because she was told By GREG that she was metal on metal. I know the car very well, was pretty sure this was not the case. The Brakes are probably 90% Front and maybe 50% rear. So what happened ? , I read a similar review from May 30 2019. This happened to my daughter on June 3rd . Greg went out to check them himself.... Somebody needs to be fired !!! Charles Paul P.S. I had a trailer tire I needed to get fixed. So I took it here and they put the new tire on and gave it to my flat so I had to tell them to pump up the tire. Then I came home put the tire on and it's flat again. They didn't even fix the flat and just wasted a week of my time. And $110 worth of my hard earned money. My tire was losing pressure slowly but consistently. I called Big O and Armando advised to bring the vehicle in. He checked my vehicle in quickly and advised he would call me when it was ready. This was a very bad experience. This Big O Tires location came highly recommended and I have NO idea why. Main issues: I took my car in because of a loud noise under the hood. After being charged $488.22 my issue was not only NOT fixed, the sound is literally TEN times louder than before I brought it in. I had to keep calling for the status of my car to get any updates. I finally go pick up my car and literally had to go walk around the back lot to try to find my car when other customers had their cars driven to the front of the building for them. When I finally found my car in the back lot, the mechanic had left garbage on my seat (packaging, a random light bulb, etc). Driving home, the sound is now literally TEN times louder than before. This place not only didn't fix my car, they caused a worse problem and charged me $488.22. Very disappointing experience! read more

I blew a tire 40 miles from home (they only had one tire in stock) and afterwards I needed to get a second tire to match or be close to the new one. I called 5+ other Big O (all of them very nice and willing to do what they could) no one had that size tire in stock (they could get the tire w/in a few hours) but this was the only SLC location that had anything in stock. Monday morning is busy but they got me in right away, fixed me up and got me out the door in time for work. I was having a problem with a tire losing air under wierd circumstances. On a trip from SoCal stopped here to see what Big O could find. Showed me pictures of what they found, a bent wheel. Doesn't appear bent from just looking, but it is. Ordered me a wheel, which I didn't agree to beforehand. So came to get the car and they wanted $1597.00 for what they had not done, replace the wheel and mount the tire. Said no, no that doen't work. Ended up paying $42.80 to get out of the place. Near as I can tell the $42.80 is the mount and balance they didn't do on the new tire and wheel. Worst customer service in the Salt Lake valley. Go elsewhere. read more

This review breaks my heart to write. I have been taking my cars here for over 10 years, and recommending them to everyone I know. I have bought 6 sets of tires from them. They have always been efficient and honest. About a year ago, I convinced my son to take his car in for an oil change and tire rotation, since we bought his tires there. My husband had just changed his oil and air filter and his brakes 3 months prior. He was told he needed new filters and brakes. Not true. I ignored it and just thought it was a fluke, even though I have seen increasing negative reviews lately. Two weeks ago, my daughter brought my old car (now her car) in because it was throwing a vacuum seal error. She told the person at the desk that. They called her back an hour later to tell her that her gas cap was failing (?) and she needed a new transmission. I knew that couldn't possibly be right, so I told her to pick up the car so we could take it for a second opinion at another local maintenance shop. After charging her over $170, for what I have no idea, we took it to the other mechanic. He replaced the vacuum hose (original error) and topped off the fluids and $100 later, the car is running like a champ. I feel my teenage daughter was taken advantage of and will not be coming back. I am heartbroken to say, after 10+ years, I am done. read more

I needed to get a smog check and vin verification for my wife's car. I dropped by without an appointment and in less than 10 minutes I was on my way. A few days later, my father in law needed the same service. I took him with me, and again, without an appointment, we were done in 10 minutes. I have been trying to find tires for my 30 year old ski car. I called them yesterday, and Chris was able to find the tires that I needed for this winter. I dropped off the wheels and in just a couple hours, I got a call that they were ready. At checkout, there was a price difference between the web estimate and actual cost. Chris was able to not only match the online price but actually ended up saving me $80. Chris was great to work with and helped me load my tires into my car. This Big O location is very well managed. Everyone who works there is polite and very willing to help you. I would highly recommend this Big O location for your automotive maintenance/ repairs. read more

They have very low, morals and ethics, and I would recommend taking my car somewhere else.Telll my sister a hose is rubbing and ask for $175 until another mechanic from a reputable shop calls and you said all you needed to do is move it to the side. These guys are honest, fast and super nice. I can show up with a blown tire and be out the door in 45 minutes (and I did this week). This is the place I feel comfortable taking my Mini Cooper to. They are always able to help me right away to get things cared for. They also communicate with me about what's going on and what I am experiencing with my vehicle. Always friendly when I call and/or come in. I have had brakes, oil change, and also harmonic balancer fixed here on separate occasions. They have been fast, efficient, and knowledgeable with all my situations. I really feel they strive to take care of customers here to build relationships and have long term customers. Taylor is usually the one that helps me when I come in at the counter. I believe he is a mechanic as well. He's always great, friendly and makes sure he gets the details of the situation to best find what is happening with my car. I have also had another mechanic who is great as well as I am unsure of his name. Dark hair, tall with dark beard. He is also great to help with repair and great at communicating with what is going on with my situation. I recently went to this store for a tire the side of mine appeared to be damaged they inspected it gave me a quote and an appointment when I went back they informed me that I had a tire lock and it would be $130 to remove it I didn't have the money at that time and it seemed to be a little high to me so a week later I went to Les Schwab who inspected the tire and assured me that the damage was cosmetic and was perfectly safe to drive.Big O would have taken advantage of me to a tune of up to $300 I will never go back and advise others not to trust this tire store read more

SCAM...Don't support this place anymore! Started going downhill probably 4ish years ago. The 8 of them that they have posted at the desks when you walk in are just sales ppl at this point. I heard one of them complain to another about how he needs to make money too because the other guy I guess was taking all the customers or whatever...I'm not sure if that means they get commission off how many ppl they help or a % of the overall price ppl end up spending but either way, super suspect. Fck these people for taking advantage of people and the work is way worse than it used to be. You'd be lucky if they just rotated your tires and didn't get quoted for an alignment, new rotors, and a flush/fluid service on every system they can name. I hear about ppl all the time still going here and after they pick up their vehicle there's a new noise/problem they've never had before. Suspect. 5 stars for alignment. I've been searching for YEARS to find a great alignment place in the south end of the valley. It's an art, and I always made the trip up to Russ's Alignment up in SLC because I wasn't satisfied with any other shop. After a few guys (and even other shops) recommended Big O to me, I finally brought my Tacoma in last week. They were friendly, fast, very reasonably priced, and most importantly the alignment is absolutely spot on. They have the combination of great technicians and state-of-the-art equipment to align everything from little cars to lifted trucks. Travis was great to work with. I'll definitely be coming back to Big O for alignment, and will be recommending it to everyone I can in the meantime. read more

This place has excellent service! I came in to get my battery tested, which they did for free, and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes with a brand new battery. The longest wait was just for the computer to process the payment. They even brought the new battery out to my truck for me! I'll definitely be coming back here in the future for any problems I have with my truck. read more

Have been coming to this Big O Tires for over 20 years but will not return. The ownership has changed and it is very apparent in the service received. When I arrived for a routine oil change the person checking me in asked how many miles my car had and when I responded he began asking whether I had recently had several services. I responded I didn't know that all of the services I had on the car had been done at their shop and should be noted on their computer. He said he would take a look and call if there were any concerns. I left the car and before we even arrived home he called my husband and told him that we needed $3,700 worth of work on our car! Struts, shocks, new tires (bought 60,000 mile tires in 2020 and have put fewer than 30,000 miles on), power steering flush, brake flush, and radiator flush. My husband told him, "No, we would check the items out because the car did not seem to be having any issues to us. When we picked up the car the receptionist was rude and the pictures show the interior of the car and oil left. Don't expect the high quality service the Sandy Big O used to be known for. We will find another shop to take our business to. read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A GIRL!!! Seriously if you know nothing about cars they will scam you!! At first told me it was going to be 80 dollars to even look at it. They told it was going to be 3 hours, after I said I would just go somewhere else they magically turned it to 10-15 minutes. After I signed up to be in line they told me it was going to be an hour. When I ubered home they called me and told me it was going to be 159 DOLLARS!!! When I told them it was one light and it shouldn't take that long they told me they needed their "best mechanics on it." My car is. Nissan, they're not hard. THREE HOURS after dropping my car off I called my friend who usually works on my car and he instantly told me we needed to pick it up. I told him everything they said and he told me they shouldn't even be charging me something that would take them 5 minutes to do. When he drive me there and walked in they instantly changed their behavior and said it was big miscommunication and that since it was "so easy" they weren't going to charge me. Apparently my car had been done for over 30 minutes and they still hadn't called me to pick it up and wanted me to keep it there over night. When we got the code and everything he gave me my keys and told me to have a great day. Didn't hand me paper work by the way. I honestly don't even think they looked my car and they're just lying to me. Will never EVER go to Big O again. read more

I have been going to this Big-O in particular for years and years and years. I'm a big car & truck guy that can sniff out most deceitful car shops so needless to say I'm very picky with my car care, and run the other way if I get a whiff of shady crap. With these guys I was skeptical with the sense of genuine concern...I didn't buy it...just another ploy to take down your guard. But they've proven my skepticism wrong every time. They never over charge me, I price check randomly and they're always competitively priced. They frequently recommend that I NOT have service done for several months until the usable life of brakes or tires, etc are reached. They know my wife and I by name and make us feel like part of the family. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for honorable service work. They're head and shoulders above the rest...5 huge stars for me!! read more
