Most of these reviews are for "Sergios", the company that used to be here. I noticed someone say they were confused on the quality of pizza considering the good reviews. That is why. Doesnt seem right to me they can keep someone else's good reviews for themselves. Anywho, they definitely arent as good as The original Sergios. They're decent. But with other pizza choices in the area, decent just isnt good enough to me. The pizza isnt bad, just isnt as good as it used to be. I was obsessed with their wings but now something about them are different. Also they went from 12 to 10 wings and jacked the price up at the same time. This place used to be great. We always loved the pizza here. But now they're under new management and it's become disappointing. For example, we got a mushroom pizza and wings (without sauce). The pizza has now just half the mushrooms it used to. And they forgot to put salt on the wings-no seasoning whatsoever. Another time, the pizza was overcooked and tasted like cardboard. It's such a shame because this was our favorite pizza place. Definitely not as good as it used to be. On the plus side, the staff has always been nice here. We went for lunch based on the Yelp reviews. The service is great (the guys behind the counter were fantastic) and the place is comfortable but the food left me wondering how the ratings are so high. Nothing was bad but in general, it was bland and lifeless. The pizza was ok but there are others I prefer in Apex. The chicken parm sub was borderline. The texture of the chicken was off. A bit rubbery. If you want cheap, quick and easy, this is a good option. But if you want serious pizza and subs, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I've gone several times, with mixed results. Sometimes the pizza is quite good and the slices are plenty large. On a couple of occasions it was too burnt to eat & I had to have them remake it. I'm talking black charcoal on the bottom & around the edge. I'm astonished that the cooks & counter staff thought they could pass it off as edible. Service is equally spotty. I've been greeted warmly & served efficiently sometimes and sometimes the staff is so lackadaisical and distracted that I have to give them my order repeatedly and sometimes wait an inordinately long time to get my slices. Today I watched couple guys who'd ordered take out ahead have to give their order again and wait for it to be cooked because somebody forgot it. I think it would help if you speak Spanish, as most of the time nobody on duty seems to speak English proficiently and they have Spanish-language TV playing. No disrespect to our Spanish-speaking brethren, but a restaurant in the U.S. should be able to serve native English speakers effectively. The store is moderately clean, though the seats are already showing substantial wear. The overall feel is definitely a little tired. By the way for those for whom it matters, they don't have sweet tea -- just a Pepsi product fountain. I'm probably not going back. read more

The Calzone is amazing! Their service was on point. I order over the phone she told me around 30 minutes. I arrive before time thinking it won't be busy... for my surprise the place was busy with customers dining in and multiple order for carry out. The only aspect I will suggest to improve would be the sauce (it was watery) other than that everything was perfect! I live in Charlotte but i will definitely be back soon! I enjoyed my Father's Day Keto cheat meal at Sergio's. I drove 30 miles to eat there and I wasn't disappointed. The knots were delicious the Grandma Pizza was savory and excellent, and the New York style was perfect. If that wasn't enough, the service was outstanding. There was a young gentleman there named Kamal who tended to our every need and made sure we had everything we wanted. He wished me a Happy Father's Day and I couldn't imagine it said in a more genuine way. So what do I wish? I wish them more customers! You can get the real taste of New York right heeh! this is the place I always order my pizza from. But last night I called up and was told 20 minutes wish I got there I was told it would not be ready for another 20 minutes . When I got home I realize the bottom of the pizza was all burnt ....it was not eatable at all . When I called up the girl said she was sorry but she doesn't know what to do about this . Kudos to the whole staff at Sergio's for being super courteous. My family and I have been there twice, and both times were memorable. The staff is patient and willing to go out of their way to make sure we were happy. We've tried the pizza, wings, Zeppole, and Sergio's salad so far. We are hooked! Good, cheap pizza, friendly service, clean tables. And ice cream treats in the freezer. We can't ask for much more. Bill for 2 adults and 1 kid came out to about $10. If you're not looking to impress a date, want to stay cheap, but still need a good, hot slice that doesn't feel soggy or like cardboard, this is your place. We came on a friday night and were surprised at how empty the place was. Don't be deceived, they were constantly taking phone orders and people were coming in and out to pick up to-go orders, so they were plenty busy. Despite that, the guy at the counter was still happy to answer questions about the different pies. They were well staffed and ran efficiently. I'm going to add to the chorus of 5 star reviews for Sergio's! This pizzeria opened up a few months ago less than 2 miles from our house and has had a pronounced effect on my waistline ever since. When I heard that their original location is in Riverhead, Long Island that peaked my interest. Riverhead isn't pizza country like the rest of NY/LI is, but I'd wager that the average slice of pizza over there is better than what you get in Cary, damn all the Yankees (including myself) that have moved down here. After a couple of successful visits of trying their regular slice and a couple of special slices including the buffalo chicken and chicken parm, I went up to the front counter and started interrogating the owner... Time and again, I hear that the reason NY pizza is so good is because of the water (and if you have swam in the Hudson and gotten the Hudson beard, well that's the last source of water I want for my pizza). The owner simply said that he follows the same recipe down here that he does in NY and the pizza comes out exactly the same, no need to import water. They also deliver within a reasonable area and have a ridiculous family special for under $25 which includes a pie, meatball parm hero, garlic knots, and baked ziti so you get a sampling of all those carb-loading classics before your half marathon run or, in my wife's case, or a binge-watching session with the Good Wife. The owner's father came to our office to tell us about this place. He said, "You know how I can guarantee you that we use quality ingredients? ...We eat it it too." Everyone in my office has ordered from Sergio's and every time, it is delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients and their pizza is the most authentic tasting NYC pizza I've had in the area. Delivery comes in a reasonable time and the food is always hot when it arrives. What's even better is that they offer free delivery with no minimum! My favorites so far? The meatballs--I'm picky about my meat and the quality is superb. No gristle and not greasy. I have been a weekly customer of this establishment for close to a year now. I have been patient and understanding that staffing might be an issue in getting food orders out on time and accurate but my last two experiences have been less than acceptable. Friday, I placed an order online and delivery time was 6:45. When food was still not delivered by 7:20, I called. I was told that there was an "emergency" in the restaurant and that my order was being worked on. Delivery came at 8pm with an undercooked pizza and items missing from my order. I called the restaurant and wanted to leave a message with the manager as I knew they were busy. I did not want to cause problems for the front staff as it was not their problem at this point. I asked for the manager to call me the next day when it would be convenient to talk but I never received a call. Big Sergio's has GREAT food when done right but the expediting process MUST be worked on in order to keep customers. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The nicest people work here. The food is delicious. I usually get the Sergio's special. It's ridiculous you get a large cheese pizza, Baked ziti, a meatball sub, and garlic knots. It feeds 5 of us for dinner and left overs for lunch the next day. That's 2 meals for 5 people. NEW OWNERS as of January 2020...... I figured I would wait a while to go in there so they could settle in.... I went there on a Saturday afternoon. The display counter was empty except for 3/4 of a cheese pie, so it looked like that was the only thing I could order. Those slices were nothing special, the quality and taste definitely went down from the previous ownership. I wouldn't go back; there are plenty of other local pizzerias to eat at. read more

I'm from CT so I'm skeptical about pizza down here. I admit, I'm a pizza snob. My husband and I have tried many places in this year we've lived here and we struggle to find any resemblance to up north pizza unless we go to some expensive place that charges $25 dollars for a small gourmet pizza. So I was surprised to see this little plaza restaurant advertising New York style pizza and we decided to try it. The fact that they also have Sicilian pizza on the menu was exciting. I still haven't seen that anywhere else down here. Obviously this is no Frank Pepe's or Modern Apizza. But this pizza is pretty good. Prices are reasonable, slices are HUGE, and it does resemble NY style pizza. I said RESEMBLE, to all my readers. They do a pretty good job at this without that Long Island water (it's a dough thing, told ya I'm a pizza snob). Big Sergio's has become our new go-to for pizza because it does meet our expectations. The garlic knots are pretty on point too. We've had pizza 3 times now, two deliveries and one walk-in for slices) and we aren't disappointed. We will keep trying other items on the menu after the holiday (looking forward to the cannolis). Good job Big Sergio's! Thanks for the yummy crust and flavors. Went for dinner. Don't get the eggplant. They are from New York and should know how to cook. Told my husband they tell people not to order it. I don't think we will be back.
