I've been here several time before, and it's a great sports bar for pub fare and drinks that are a bit on the premium side (to be expected). However, I have to draw the line on the unexpected $6.50 change for a SINGLE BLACK DRIP COFFEE. A cappuccino at any nice coffee shop will run $3 - $4, and this Folgers drip cost double that. I even asked to be sure there wasn't a mistake, and I was told by my server "yeah...it's right. Shit is expensive here." Be weary of purchasing anything that isn't on the menu. read more

Great place to watch sporting events with TV everywhere, but be aware of the high cost of drinks! $19 for a single grey goose and soda with lime. Tried this place twice, once during Super Bowl week and again on Friday night Oct 6th, and both times (around 9-11 pm) it was a disappointment. The seating was wide open (at least 50% avail), and there were plenty of staff (20+) standing around chatting with each other, but nobody was interested in our business. No greeting at all. When we got their attention and asked about seating, we were told it would be at least a 30-minute wait. Surely a good manager could get the staff working instead of standing around, and have the waiting customers (about a dozen from what I saw) get seated and start bar tabs. You know, MAKE some money?!! We went through the hotel lobby to the other bar and were able to get cocktails and seating without delay. What a shame! Biggio's is missing out on high-margin beverage revenue on weekend "prime time" evenings because it is so poorly managed. That's two strikes, and I doubt we'll give them a look for a third strike. read more

Hubs and I were in town from California. Upon driving to our hotel, we passed this place and immediately said "we HAVE to try that place" awesome atmosphere, a ton of tv's, huge beer selection. While waiting for our table we ordered drinks at the bar and received fast friendly service. Once we got to our table, it was probably about 8-10 minutes before a server came by and asked if we were "ok" the wait didn't seem like long because we were watching the raider game. Order came out correctly, but PLEASE tell me how the beyond burger tasted better than my regular burger! I waited and waited for our server to ask for some sauce to perk it up, she never came. We asked another server who I wish was our server because she got some sauce right away. Fries were awesome. But still burger was blah. My beer was empty for a while, I was never asked if I wanted another. I didn't even feel the need to ask someone else for it because I was already over this place. Oh, I failed to mention, this server also kept checking on every table in her section, except ours. I also had to ask for our check twice which took forever. Please find better servers. read more

This is a great place to get a drink and a bite. The pretzels were awesome. If you are lucky you may get Chase as a server because he was amazing. He had great recommendations and was funny and present. If you are staying local I would highly recommend this place. read more

I was there Saturday night for the World Series game. The setting was very nice with nice seating areas and two story big TV screens . The waitresses were nice but little under-educated on type of drinks(she didn't know what irish-coffee was) and spotty in checking up on us. We had dinner, and also had 3 vodka and sodas, so when we got our bill, it had a line item, $5 for Rocks. So i asked the waitress what that was, and she said it was for ice...??? I said you charge for Ice? It wasn't even those fancy block ice, but just plain old small ice you get from ice machine.. Is this a trend? they charge $11 for voda and soda, then addition for ice? I'm staying at the marquis and was looking for a good place for lunch and I found the right spot. I sat at the bar with no wait which was awesome. Ordered the BBQ brisket tacos with a side of green chile cheese and damn was it delicious! Not too heavy but still so good. The bartenders are so nice and friendly. My companion and I had lunch at Biggio's after leaving UH Downtown's graduation commencement at Minute Maid Park. We were impressed with the the initial atmosphere of the restaurant. However, it seems that whoever was in charge of the televisions and projectors didn't have the foresight to realize how daylight would poorly affect the quality of whatever is projected onto the screens. Also, the layout of the TVs and screens did not allow for most customers to view games from where they're seated. I expected the menu to be on the pricey side, because if the location. However, the food did not seem to justify the prices. BUT, that I'll remind the audience that this is my first dining experience, so maybe trying something else will wow me. I ordered the Angus Sliders. Nice presentation. I loved the pickles, but there was excessive bread. They were served with "Dugout Sauce", which was described by our server Chace as a spicey mayo. But there has to be another name for that. It just doesn't sound appetizing. My companion thought his tacos were marginal. Iced tea was very good on this hot day. Our server Chace was great! He was very friendly, checked on us here and there (we didn't have to look for him), and just did a bang-up job. It will be interesting to see how this place draws repeat business from the locals, but it definitely helps this establishment being in a hotel (with the Texas-shaped lazy river attraction) and being in walking distance the the ballpark, Discovery Green, and the GRB Convention Center. read more

The bar is huge with tons of tvs with sports and the bartenders are working their tails off on a Friday night, but they are seriously understaffed. Unless you sit in the middle of the bar by the cash register you wait forever for service, for silverware with your food, or even for the check. My group of 6 people were seated promptly, however service was sloooow. Our drinks took 30 minutes to get to our table. At a sports bar!!! When our glasses were empty, we were never asked if we wanted another round. The waitress did not seem to know what was on the menu. I had the nachos with added chicken (extra), which were ok. The cobb salad which someone else in my party had also looked fine. However, the flatbread & the black bean burger were not good. Stopped at the marriott marquis for a quick bite before the Astros game. Love, love that pretzel. Yummy, best I've ever had, tasty, Soft, not a lot of salt and not loaded with cheese. Plain is the best because you can taste the flavour of the pretzel. Great place for watching the game if you don't have a ticket. Will probably never return after such a horrible experience from a clear unethical violation by my waiter The food, drinks, and portions were great. The atmosphere was very relaxed and casual- a good place to watch a sports game, especially baseball. If I was just evaluating on food, drinks, and atmosphere it would be 5 stars for sure! HOWEVER!... the service and the experience I went through with my waiter makes it a 2 stars. (The food and atmosphere is what saves it from being a 1 star). He tried to cheat us out of money (explained below) and was never there. I can find another place with great food that actually has great service First, there were multiple times I ran out of my drink and I had to get up to waive down my waiter multiple times. I had to wave my arms like a madman many times just to get his attention for any small thing (wanting to order food, drinks, not having napkins, etc.). While this was very frustrating, I wasn't as livid because it was game 6 of the WS. The issue that really made me frustrated was a blatant UNETHICAL attempt by my table's waiter to CHEAT us out of money. I was in a party of 6 and the bill (understandably) had a 18% service charge. There was no issue with this. However, my waiter told us that none of that service charge went to him. He told us it was a service charge for the table because of how busy the night was. We asked for clarification and he told us that we had to actually add another tip in the additional tip section - basically wanting us to add another 15-20% to a $100+ bill (that was the price without the "service charge") on top of the 18% "Service charge" we were paying... I have heard of cases like this, but a sign is usually posted. Therefore, I thought it was really suspicious. I went to ask (who I believe was) a manager. She informed me that this was incorrect- that the service charge WAS the gratuity charge. Basically, my waiter lied to my party and tried to cheat us out of more money and I can only think that he thought he could get away with it because we were all young females (around 21)... **We had friends earlier who had him as a waiter who were around 45 and he didn't ask them to tip extra (on top of the "service charge")... The "manager" didn't do anything either after I told her about the situation... She showed no signs of astonishment that her employee was clearly violating ethical standards and was trying to swindle us out of money. She didn't say she would take care of the issue or even that she would talk to him. If this is the type of stuff they allow to happen then I will NEVER go back again. I hate when people believe they can take advantage of me and swindle me out of money to pad their pockets I can easily find another sports bar in Houston with better and ethical service... my friends and I liked Biggios and have gone before, but if this is the type of people they hire, if they continue to have horrible service, and if they don't actually resolve a CLEAR ETHICAL VIOLATION ...then I will never go back and I will direct everyone I know to a better bar with better service. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!!! The host was the most disorganized host I had ever seen, she was running around all over the place instead of tending to people that were trying to be seated. Prior to being seating we asked her 3 different times if we could be seated near a tv that we could change to Fox to watch a local football game that was at Rice. She said "yeah no problem" and then proceeded to sit us in front of the big main screens which clearly we couldn't get changed, so then after previously telling her 3 times, we had to tell her again and then the story changed to "well I'll have to ask my manager" at that point the game had already started and we kept being told to stand around and wait for the manager as other parties that were there after us were getting seating. ITS A SPORTS BAR!!!! How is it that hard to get a tv changed to a FOOTBALL GAME!! And on top of all of that, in the middle of trying to seat people the host had to go print more menus we finally just left after 45 minutes of being told to wait for a manager TO WATCH SPORTS AT A SPORTS BAR. Finally came to Biggio's and was very disappointed. Bad service and food was nothing you can't find at Chilli's or Logans. We waited 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order. A group of people that got seated after us, got served before us. We asked for the manager. Gave us the excuse that the server at our area was running late. Then why sit us where there is no server available? Didn't feel like a kid friendly restaurant. The food was okay. Nothing I haven't tasted before. Had leftovers and as soon as we walked out, handed them to a homeless couple because we were not going to eat them later. I did not eat here!!! It was a great spot to watch a game and have a few drinks. TV's are huge and can be seen from any seat. Bartenders were great and served quickly. Large bar area, so you don't feel confined. I would recommend to go for a sport bars that you feel comfortable in. read more

I was on a work trip for 5 days staying at a hotel down the street. Came here and grabbed some food to-go on the first night because they were open late. This was a bad idea. I ate a pulled pork sandwich and i got food poisoning. I am now back home and still cant get off the toilet. It ruined my entire week stay out in Houston. The drinks here are fine but DO NOT eat the food. Ive been sick from food before but this by far topped the charts. Hope they can straighten up their kitchen.
