DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!!! The host was the most disorganized host I had ever seen, she was running around all over the place instead of tending to people that were trying to be seated. Prior to being seating we asked her 3 different times if we could be seated near a tv that we could change to Fox to watch a local football game that was at Rice. She said "yeah no problem" and then proceeded to sit us in front of the big main screens which clearly we couldn't get changed, so then after previously telling her 3 times, we had to tell her again and then the story changed to "well I'll have to ask my manager" at that point the game had already started and we kept being told to stand around and wait for the manager as other parties that were there after us were getting seating. ITS A SPORTS BAR!!!! How is it that hard to get a tv changed to a FOOTBALL GAME!! And on top of all of that, in the middle of trying to seat people the host had to go print more menus we finally just left after 45 minutes of being told to wait for a manager TO WATCH SPORTS AT A SPORTS BAR. Finally came to Biggio's and was very disappointed. Bad service and food was nothing you can't find at Chilli's or Logans. We waited 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order. A group of people that got seated after us, got served before us. We asked for the manager. Gave us the excuse that the server at our area was running late. Then why sit us where there is no server available? Didn't feel like a kid friendly restaurant. The food was okay. Nothing I haven't tasted before. Had leftovers and as soon as we walked out, handed them to a homeless couple because we were not going to eat them later. I did not eat here!!! It was a great spot to watch a game and have a few drinks. TV's are huge and can be seen from any seat. Bartenders were great and served quickly. Large bar area, so you don't feel confined. I would recommend to go for a sport bars that you feel comfortable in. read more

I was on a work trip for 5 days staying at a hotel down the street. Came here and grabbed some food to-go on the first night because they were open late. This was a bad idea. I ate a pulled pork sandwich and i got food poisoning. I am now back home and still cant get off the toilet. It ruined my entire week stay out in Houston. The drinks here are fine but DO NOT eat the food. Ive been sick from food before but this by far topped the charts. Hope they can straighten up their kitchen. The brisket tacos are sooo dang good and filling. It comes with a side of chips and onion dip. The onion dip should be it's own item on the menu. it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating it. We also order the nachos with the bison chili. That was ok. I probably would not order the nachos again, but boy am I craving those tacos. The service was also pretty good. I have been to Biggio's 7 times since they have opened. I believe they opened January before the Superbowl. Marriott Marquis is a beautiful hotel, if not the best in Houston CBD. This sports bar is very well designed and it almost made me feel like I was in Chicago or New York. BUT the service is not good. I am not sure where they are hiring their servers or bartenders from but I believe there is some in house training that Marriott should have with employees. A training like the Pappas Franchise has with their employees. This is not a good look for the Hotel, I have not experienced the dining ( restaurant ) portion of the hotel but it makes me not want to eat at either of the restaurants attached to the hotel. read more

Great atmosphere and décor. We wanted to like the food because it is so convenient since we are staying all week at the Marriott. We tried the flatbread, the sliders, nachos and a salad. None of it was good. The salad had no flavor.....it was just lettuce, cucumbers and croutons. The nachos were just chips, soggy meat, jalapenos and a little cheese. Went for lunch on today, Friday. Not very busy at all. Got seated right away but had to go ask one of the waitresses that was standing there, holding up the wall to take my order. She never checked on me. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it was all tuff and dried out. Had to run the waitress down again to bring my check. My friends and I are from Houston and came in for the weekend for the Rodeo. We had a blast and utterly seem-less weekend. Until we went to Biggio's. We thought with the name of a local legend and stand up guy, the service and experience would be equal to the name it represents. However, we waited for close to an hour while there were 5 open tables throughout our wait period. The wait staff once we were seated were un-responsive and took them a while to notice us. Absolutely the best sports bar in Houston! I was honestly surprised - just weeks after opening this place already has excellent food and a perfect blend of fun and relaxed atmosphere. It's somehow is neither pretentious nor grungy- a difficult balance for a sports bar. The general manager, Cameron, stopped by to make sure everything was going well. All of the staff were making an effort to be attentive despite how busy it was- I would say the only thing holding this place back is that it seemed understaffed. For food, I'd recommend the brisket tacos, but the chicken and waffles that my husband ordered were awesome too. Definitely get a Rocket Fuel on draft while you're there too! read more

Had a private event and sign said theyd open at 10. I go in and guy tells me to come back at 10:30, after slamming door. I trusted him, waited and came back and didnt go anywhere else. Awful experience because of terrible service! My husband and I were staying at the Marquis for a couple of nights to celebrate our wedding. We sat at the bar, and we weren't helped by anyone. There were two bartenders standing right in front of us, and they acted as if we weren't there! One of the bartenders, Horace (I believe), was having a long conversation with the gentleman to our left while the bartender to our right avoided us. We finally were able to get the attention of the bartender to our right after 15 minutes. He gave us a couple of menus and left. No greeting, no words... Just a menu... Another 20 minutes go by and we had to flag down that same bartender, because Horace was still into his conversation. We ordered nachos and a couple of drinks... The bartender was cold and took our order as if it was a chore. We noticed a few people come up to the bar and leave once they realized that they weren't going to receive any service. After our first round of drinks, we left... We refused to spend another dime at that establishment. Such a shame too. We had been enjoying our stay at the Marquis until this happened. Oh! We came an hour and a half earlier in order to ensure that we'd get a table for a party of 8, however we were sat in the very front and when we tried to cooperate with the hostess and the waiters they were rude and condescending. The prices weren't unexpected but considering the staff and the attitude, etc. Not to mention that the food was extremely overpriced. I shared a crappy burger for 16 dollars. I went to Biggio's with a fairly large group, so I knew it would have been hard to serve us quickly but the rate of service was some of the worst I have seen. I had a full cup of ice water spilt on my be a waiter, and was soaking wet throughout the rest of my experience there. I realize this might be an accident, but there was no apology or compensation for the extreme discomfort they caused me. My meal came at the same time as the rest of my table but my mother's meal came around twenty minutes later, and as expected from previous incidents, with no apology and no compensation. The waiters tried to ignore the fact that we were very distressed and unhappy, they were not nice and did not care that we just wanted to eat. The most frustrating part was that you had to pay a set tip amount, which I remember being fairly high. I will not go back unless my only other option is to eat my dog. read more

Skip this place! Considering that it is a famous Astro's place, I am super disappointed in the way we were treated and the services we received from both Carlos the waiter and Jonathan the manager at the time. We arrived about 11:40pm on Saturday night (12/15/18). We asked Carlos if he could help our table and he ignored us, we called for a manager who said he would get someone and still nothing. We called again for the manager to find out what happened and upon me asking yet another server, we still had to wait so long for service! I absolutely can't believe that our experience at Biggio's Restaurant was so awful! My husband is such a huge Astros fan and was so excited to go in and experience it but our experience was so awful! We asked a waiter named Carlos to help us and he ignored us. However, he did help another table, brought them drinks and food. So we asked for a manager. Then Jonathan the manager came down and said he would get us help...well that didn't happen. So I got up and asked another waiter to please call the manager again and it took forever for us to get the manager just to find out it was Jonathan coming down again. We explained that we had not gotten service after he said he would get someone. At that point the bartender came over and explained that they don't do service at the tables after a certain hour and that we had missed the food cutoff time at this point and she couldn't help us with that. I have to say she was very patient and sympathetic to us. However, had we had help when we first asked Carlos to help us, we could have been told that in time to follow their protocol but we didn't know that considering he ignored us. And Jonathan the manager didn't tell us that so had we not waited so long on his second visit, we could have ordered. He stated he would take care of our bills and get us a round of drinks to make up for the fact that we had waited over 30 minutes for service and we didn't get food. I am so sad that Biggio allows this type of service at a restaurant with his name on it. So upon leaving, we notice that another table had gotten serviced and food!! Wait, I thought we had missed the time, and that they didn't service at tables??? How did this other table who got there after us and by like 20 minutes, got serviced??? This was completely unacceptable to our standards and should have been unacceptable to Biggio's and Marriotts standards as well! And when we went to make sure we were not charged the manager Jonathan couldn't find our bill until the bartender said it had not been closed yet...well, he closed it right in front of us and said he was not going to take care of the bill because he had taken care of the other bill which was not our bill, it was a friends bill. He said he would t refund our $23 (which was for one drink). Seriously? It was one drink you said you would take care of and then decided not too. Unprofessional and very very upsetting to the customer. I can't believe such a high end hotel allows a restaurant like this to be associated with them, it is bringing down their name and I will never return and the saddest part is my husband is so disappointed because he only watches one sport and the Astros are his team and this is how he experienced one of the players spots??? read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. We were there for 2 hours waiting for food/drinks. It took over 30 minutes for drinks and once the waitress arrived she finally decided to inform me that they didn't have all the ingredients for my drink (not sure why that wasn't told before everyone else received drinks. Our food took forever and once arrived it was ice cold and the adult hamburgers had no seasoning so she brought salt/pepper. We informed the manager who said she would give us a round of drinks on the house which didn't happen. They didn't comp our check and STILL wanted us to pay the waitress a tip. We complained to the manager and then the waitress got rude and disrespectful to someone in our party. After we went to speak to the manager AGAIN some drunk customer was hitting on my and got into it with my husband, threatening me AND pushing an 8 month old baby I was pushing in a stroller. The manager was too scared to stop the drunk customer and called security. After all this horrible customer service we still had to pay our bill in FULL. Don't waist your money on double drinks. Had a double on cranberry vodka and $22 a drink was not worth it! First waitress told me it was a taller glass and then when I got my bill for 2 drinks with our meal and saw it was $44. I asked her Idk it would be double the price and she said well it's double shots. I wouldn't have been able to walk out of there had it really been double the shots in these drinks! read more

Called multiple times to make a reservation for a work Happy Hour for about 16 people. The phone was never answered, nor my voicemail returned. Upon arrival the hostess informed us that they do not take reservations nor will they seat a party unless the majority are present. I understand this, but her delivery was incredible rude. Considering the bar was pretty empty, we decided to wait there for our coworkers to arrive. There are NO Happy Hour specials and draft beers are $6.00 and $7.00. When you open a tab downstairs, then go upstairs you have to open a new tab - it does not stay open for the entire bar. BEWARE: There is an automatic hold put on your card for $50.00 when you open a tab at the bar. I closed out and tipped. This morning several of my coworkers noticed a $50 charge on their cards. I called Biggio's, again with no answer. I explained to the lady that answers the main number for the hotel that we had all been charged $50, she said, "Yes, it does that but should fall off in 24 hours." Unacceptable! Native Houstonian that now live in Austin. Visiting home for the weekend and had a horrible experience. The hostess was so rude and disrespectful for no reason. Asked her politely how would she know when a seat was available, would there be a signal on her iPad or something because I was curious and was told, "Let me do my job, I have been doing it for a year." I then said I wasn't trying to be rude, just curious. Then I was told I will let you know when a table is ready. I then went to the manager who told me he would talk to her and see what happened and he apologized, but proceeded to give me a run down of how the sports bar was setup and what all they had to offer. If this is a representation of Craig Biggio, I am very disappointed. I went across the street to Salt Grass and spent my money there. Professionalism is so lacking and I would assume the food and drinks would be too. Also connected to Marriott Marquis Downtown, so that makes me question the Marriott Marquis as well. We decided to eat here on our way to the opera at the George R Brown Convention Center. What a wonderful lunch we had. The chili was some of the best I have ever had. The chips and salsa were very good. My husband loved the beef skewers. The seating is comfortable and well-spaced. The screens are large and it's such a fun atmosphere. I can't rate the food, because we never got that far. First off, there was no one to greet us coming from the hotel entrance (where we were staying), only from the street. Ok. So as I approach the hostess, she doesn't even look up from a her blank piece of paper. Once I got her attention, I ask her if we should seat ourselves or if there's a wait (there are open tables literally everywhere). She tells me we can sit at the bar, which was currently packed with drunkards chugging green beer for St Patrick's Day, or there will be a 30 minute wait. I took a look around at all the open tables in the restaurant, and all the wait staff just standing around talking to each other, and just said "no thanks". Stopped by with three friends to give this place a try. Unfortunately it missed on all levels: service, food and price. Our server had a small section; four, 4-top tables which were half full. Yet he got our appetizers and beer ($6.50 happy hour local - yikes!) orders incorrect. The appetizers took 30 minutes... we ordered wings, a pretzel, chips and queso which should have taken 10 minutes at most. When we finally received our food, it was pure crap. No flavor (or color). We didn't bother ordering entres after that. The wait crew appeared dismissive and uninterested in service. I had high hopes for this place, but very disappointed with reality. Attended the Astro's game on July 14, 2018 and visited Biggio's for dinner as we had been here on several occasions and always thought the food, atmosphere and service .and was great. When we arrived, we were seated within about 15 minutes and provided with a small condensed menu. When I asked our server for the full menu, I was told that management had made the decision to offer a scaled down menu on game days due to the crowd they receive in order to make it easy for the kitchen staff. Just a few salads, burgers and sandwiches were offered. Appetizers included a cup of jarred salsa and store bought chips for $6 with no refills. My wife ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and was told that their "scaled back" drink menu did not include any frozen or fruit flavored drinks. She had water. We both ordered salads which were very small for the price; $15 and $16. When eating our average coffee shop caliber salads my wife discovered they had included the large inedible core in her salad. The used to be a nice restaurant with excellent dinner selections, now they are food court fare at a high price. They have either gotten very lazy with no interest in pleasing the customer or they no longer have the financial resources to stock their kitchen and bar. They appear to be a business whose days are numbered. Either way, they won't be here long and we will not be back.
