Veggie sampler with lentil soup, shirazi salad and eggplant dip. Love the hot tea too!

How have I not reviewed Bijan?? This is one of our family favorites. In fact, when our daughter applied to college and the prompt was to write about a family tradition, she wrote about Sunday family dinners at Bijan with three generations. Imagine grandparents, parents, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins eating all together every weekend, frequently at Bijan, for the first 18 years of her life. Sharing a meal together. Building memories. So wonderful. A decade later, we are still are having family dinners at Bijan. During the pandemic, this was the last place that we ate before everything closed down and it was one of the first when we decided to eat out again as a family. It was nice to hear a warm hello, welcome back, we missed you. 29B-Grilled Chicken Breast. Lentil soup. Shirazi salad. Bijan special. Hummus. Salmon kabobs. Lamb kabobs. Plates filled with extra radishes, feta cheese and herbs. Extra crispy bread fresh out of the oven for my father-in-law. Pouring hot cardamon tea into dainty glass tea cups while we wait for our food. One cube of sugar that lasts several cups. Maybe a little mint added as well. So good. Love the renovation. It looks great. Thanks for the great food and honoring our family's customizations over the years. We will be back again...and again. BTW...If you were wondering, the essay was a winner. She did get accepted to the school that asked about a family tradition.

Just think that the food here is amazing isn't my statement. I ended up ordering a bunch of extra food to try at home. I'll try to post those pictures later, but it won't do it justice. It is a fantastic. The immune is nice. The personnel is super helpful and sweet and the location is easy to find.

Spontaneously went to Bijan Persian grill in Houston for late night dinner. I got the lamb soultani, which comes with lamb and a skewer of beef koobideh. It comes with basmati rice and some grilled veggies. The meat was honestly just ok. They were both on the dry side and had a more heavy char. The rice was amazing mixed with the butter and this red spice thing you can mix in to make it a little more tangy. They give you complimentary pita, feta, mints, and radishes. I also got a kashk-e-bademjan (eggplant dip), it comes with yogurt, garlic, mint, onion, and basil. It was decent but I felt like the dip I had at other Persian restaurants were more dynamic in flavor. The portions were big though and I had plenty of leftovers. They also gave me another pita bread to go

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Lina my waiter was truly kind and amazing. The place was also pretty cute. Upon arrival they bring you complementary hot bread, cheese, butter and herbs to try. Then since I wanted to try the specials on the menu I tried the beef chicken kebob combo as well as the ghorme sabzi stew and gheimeh stew combo option which this option of food was pretty unique option on the menu compared to the other Persian restaurants. Their shirazi salad was also pretty great with great flavor and seasoning. Price was also pretty good and affordable for the food options provided. For drinks I got dough which is yogurt drink with mint and then for dessert I got hot tea and bakhlava. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I walked in to the restaurant and was welcomed by the friendly staff. It was an afternoon and less busy weekday. The place is clean and well maintained. The naan and a plate with lime, butter and cheese I believe was complimentary. I ordered the Special combo meal. It was beef fillet and juicy chicken fillet, that's marinated and grilled. Additional to that, I ordered tea because who doesn't like tea with their meal. Great combination and I do recommend. I also ordered the Bijan Special in the menu to go as well. They do have parking lot, coming in and leaving was not a hassle since it was not busy. SPECIAL COMBO - 9/10 BIJAN SPECIAL - 8.5/10

This would be my last restaurant meal before having to hunker down at home due to weather. I wanted either hummus or soup. They had a lentil soup. The serving is large. I couldn't finish it. It was good but I've had better lentil soup. The bread served with feta cheese and herbs is delicious. I wanted hot tea too. The tea is watered down and not my type. It's served with sugar cubes. The waiter at the end told me I could have ordered stronger tea when I mentioned it to him.

This is one of my favorite Persian restaurants. I almost always get the ground beef kabobs. The feta and bread are a great snack to start the meal. Reminds me of my roommate from Iran during college. We often ate feta and radishes for a snack. The restaurant is clean and the service is very friendly. My only complaint is that after I was served know one every offered me any more tea or water.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Houston. I could write love songs about Bijan. And after recently trying another Persian Houston restaurant with a near identical menu but slightly higher prices that left me with regrets, I figured a Yelp review praising Bijan was long overdue. I've lost track of how many times I've eaten here in the past year. And I will be eternally grateful to my boyfriend for introducing me to this place. The staff is great and starts you with a complimentary plate of freshly made flat bread and mint, butter, feta cheese cubes, and radish. My preference is to melt some butter on the warm bread and sprinkle on a healthy amount of paprika and then wrap it around a cube of feta. In terms of recommendations, you can't go wrong with the warm eggplant dip as an appetizer. This is probably my favorite dish on the menu, and I think it's done better here than other Persian restaurants. The name is Kashk-E-Bademjan and it's a warm eggplant with a drizzle of yogurt topped with roasted garlic, caramelized onions, and a sprig of mint. If the staff hasn't already offered a second flat bread with your eggplant, just ask. The size is big enough to share but I can easily polish off one of these by myself and prefer it that way. For the main course, I strongly suggest the Bijan special. It is a massive plate of chicken and filet mignon beef skewer, saffron rice topped with cherries, cranberries, almonds, and pistachios, and lastly roasted vegetables. Note that some of their dishes do not come with the cranberry/almond topping on the rice. Fortunately the menu includes pictures of pretty much every single dish. If you like some sweetness with your savory food, the rice is much better with the addition. Honestly, nothing compares to a fresh plate of Bijan, and the food is generally very consistent in flavor. There was a singular visit when I thought the Kafta kebob had too much parsley. On my last visit, it was phenomenal. The meat is always tender and juicy. If I had to choose a final meal, it would be Bijan. Thank you guys for the wonderful meals!

Came here with a large party and everyone loved it! The family platters are HUGE and all very tasty. The service was also exceptional and everyone was very friendly.

First time stopping by here, I heard numerous positive reviews about it. I definitely plan to return. We were served fresh herbs, very fresh feta cheese, and hot, freshly baked naan. We later ordered plate #32 and #29B, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken and lamb were juicy and well-marinated, pairing well with the rice and cranberry on top. Furthermore, the portion sizes were generous. To finish off we ordered a 64-Baklava with some Black tea and it was just the perfect ending of our dinner. We appreciated our waitress, who was kind and attentive. The service was exceptional. The establishment itself is warm, welcoming, and inviting, making me feel comfortable and at home. I would definitely recommend this place. 10/10 must try!

The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.

We ordered the Habibi Feast, which is perfect for sharing and gives you a little bit of everything. It came with brisket, turkey, chicken, and sausage--and every protein was cooked to perfection. The brisket was tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the turkey was juicy, and the chicken had a great flavorful crust. For sides, we went with mac and cheese, creamed corn, potato salad, and fried okra. Honestly, all of them hit--especially the creamy mac and cheese and the fried okra, which had a perfect crunch. We also tried the brisket shawarma, and that was a standout. It's a really cool fusion of Texas BBQ and Mediterranean flavors--smoky, saucy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Overall, this spot brings a unique twist to traditional BBQ with its Mediterranean influence. Great food, great service, and a solid atmosphere--definitely a place I'll be coming back to. Highly recommend if you're in Houston and want something different from your usual BBQ spot.

Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I def recommend this spot, esp if you like lamb as all the dishes we had were excellent and priced fairly for the portion and current economic situation.

These are easily the most delicious wings I've had in a LONG time. 87 flavors is ridiculous but I…read morewant to try them ALL. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman at the front but he was super easy going, professional and patient with us while we decided why to get since it was our first time. The inside reminded me of a place in Austin where there's signatures from everyone who's visited on the inside, it's small and not a lot of place to sit there's like 5 seats but it's still chill to eat there if you fit, will absolutely be back!

I'm a pretty big wing fan, so I was excited to try this place out. They have a list of their top flavors posted right in front of where you order, which made it a little easier to narrow things down. I ended up picking two from that list. I went with the garlic parmesan wings and the lemon pepper buffalo since those seemed to be two of the more favored options. I was slightly disappointed because with the amount of flavors they have, the sauces and rubs were good, but the wings themselves were not cooked crispy. They were a little on the softer side and slightly undercooked for my taste, which is why I ended up deducting a star. If the wings had been fried a bit longer and had that crispy bite, this probably would have easily been a five-star experience for me. I ordered inside and the customer service was really good. The staff was friendly and my food came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. Flavor-wise everything was solid, so the potential is definitely there. I also snapped a picture of the menu because they run different specials throughout the week. Unfortunately I came on the weekend, so I wasn't able to take advantage of any of the weekday deals. The wings are a little pricey, but honestly that seems to be the going rate for wings these days. If I come back, I would probably just ask for the wings and fries to be cooked a little longer so they come out crispier. I'd also be curious to try more of the flavors since they have so many. I may stop by on their $0.87 wing day just to sample a few more and give them another shot. Overall, not bad
