Ribeye and shrimp combo is/dill rice and grilled veggies
    Lisa J.

The three stars are for the very outstanding service , atmosphere and the Yadi's Favorite which was one of there very tasty chicken dishes. And I'm so glad my cousin let me taste it because the dish that I ordered , the combination shrimp and ribeye with dill rice was extremely bland and underwhelming. Not to mentioned the ribeye was very tough .. I've had better Persian food and wish this had been good like others I've tried, but overall was still a pleasant experience.

Every time we come to Garson we enjoy our time. We love Persian food, and their Fecenjan is to die for! What is not to love about a delicious pieces of chicken dipped in a luscious and rich amazing pomegranate sauce?! We are obsessed with it, we have also tried their other dishes and it was all very good. We love the bread and a bonus point...it's made in house! Definitely give this place a try and you won't regret it.

We came for dinner on a Friday evening. There was plenty of parking in their lot. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant and dining area itself were very clean. I thought the menus were nicely designed as well. All of the servers were very attentive and came by frequently to refill water. There was lots of complimentary bread as well. The bread itself wasn't the best, but I appreciated that they kept bringing more. I ordered the boneless chicken and beef koubideh with doogh. Prices and portion sizes were very reasonable. However I thought the tomatoes on the side tasted a bit too sour. The beef was cooked well, but I thought it tasted a little too salty. The chicken needed more seasoning. Overall, this is an okay place if you want affordable Persian food. But there are probably better spots to try in the area.

Incredible food! We had the lamb - so tender! The seafood kabob was the highlight of the meal wow. Can't wait to come back!

Okay the service alone gave this 5 stars! They were so kind, attentive and genuine. We were a big party on Mother's Day and they took care of us like family. All the food was delicious, especially the boneless chicken kabobs! The dill rice wasn't over powering with dill but definitely there. All dishes were packed with flavor and very satisfying large portions.

If the capital of Nevada was Garson City, I'd never go to Nevada. That's how much I like this restaurant. One of my worst experiences in Houston. We showed up to have some delicious Persian kebabs (never been before), and I was wearing my usual muscle shirt and Barbie her usual sexy outfit, and we were told to leave or to sit in the spare room (empty, cold, by the door) separate from the dining room (nice, warm, lots of people), because my muscle shirt "isn't proper attire". Meanwhile there was people smoking in the doorway, a old smelly guy with his old man bare feet up on a chair drinking tea and reading, and 2 people vaping as well. This isn't a fine dining place, it's just a little locally owned place with decent prices which shouldn't be so judgy and prehistoric - I hate to see what would happen if they put this place in Montrose or Midtown. Those kinds of double standards are disgusting but when you consider it's a $10 Kabob place and not fancy restaurant, and that we've even in a lot of fancy restaurants (and lots of Persian places, cheap and expensive) around the country, and that I'm Persian (lol), and literally never been told to leave or change outfits even once, anywhere, you can see why it would rub me the wrong way. Besides, I didn't have any other shirts with me that day, we'd come from the gym and I only had a dirty similar shirt or the clean one I was wearing. I wanted to try all the Persian places, but I'm skipping this one and telling all my friends to do the same after the nastiness and prejudice and hypocrisy. Nearby Darband is probably the best Persian in the country anyway, so we generally tend to stick with that or the equally excellent Bijan just down the road.

All dinners come with a Greek garlic bread starter. I love their iced tea- fresh brewed and always good! The wine is Greek and seems a small bit pricey, but for the extra dollar or two it's worth it- Very delicious. Anything you get at Athena's is amazing so feel free to branch out on your choice. If you come on a weekend evening, you may run into the owner having the time of her life! And they take pride in serving the most sweet and ripe slice of melon with every dish. Started to enjoy this first each time I come. It is that delicious, but why can't I find fruit like that anywhere at a grocery store? Give this place a try. Yummy. Officially the authentic Greek restaurant without going overboard. Wait- the homemade 3 layer chocolate cake and the lemon cake! Actually bought a whole one for a large birthday party and everyone wanted to know the bakery name- just Athena's homemade cake! Remember, Greek food is fresh with best ingredients. Established back in 1977, this Greek café has grown from a humble walk‑up window into a full‑fledged neighborhood institution, beloved for its hearty Mediterranean comfort food and lively, come‑as‑you‑are atmosphere. The Montrose location stays bustling from lunch through late night, drawing in everyone from families to night‑owls to longtime regulars who've been coming here for decades. What keeps people returning is simple: the food hits. Diners consistently praise the authentic Greek flavors, especially the gyro plates -- a blend of beef and lamb shaved from the spit, tucked into warm, fresh pita, and finished with cool, garlicky tzatziki. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and the pricing stays reasonable, making it one of the best value spots in the neighborhood. Your gyro arrives stacked, your fries come hot, and your plate feels like it was built by someone who actually wants you to leave full. The menu is huge, but the classics shine brightest. The Greek salad is crisp and refreshing, loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, and their famous dressing. Service here is fast, friendly, and efficient -- the kind of counter‑style operation where the staff keeps things moving without losing the warmth that makes the place feel welcoming. Guests frequently mention how upbeat and helpful the team is, even during rush hours. The vibe is lively but never chaotic: families grabbing dinner, couples sharing mezze plates, and regulars chatting with staff like old friends. It's casual, energetic, and unmistakably Montrose. One thing that sets Niko Niko's apart is its deep Houston history. The Fetokakis family has run the restaurant for nearly half a century, maintaining a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality that helped the café earn multiple Houston Press awards over the years -- from Best Pork Chops to Best Family‑Owned Restaurant. Even as the city has changed around it, Niko Niko's has stayed true to its roots: hearty food, Greek hospitality, and a community‑driven spirit. Whether you're grabbing a quick gyro, sitting down for a full spread, or stopping by for dessert after a night out, Niko Niko's delivers exactly what a neighborhood staple should: great food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and the experience feels like Houston -- diverse, warm, and full of character. If you're in Montrose and craving Greek comfort done right, this spot remains one of the city's most reliable pleasures.
