I found this spot to be very professional, QUICK, CLEAN & ORGANIZED. They were very thorough and attentive. I would love to move this to Washington DC. It was the best money spent. This shop is within walking distance of my work and still offers a $35 mani/pedi Mon-Wed. You can't beat the price! I've had my nails done at Mario's and Spa Space and although I received more pampering at the other places, Bijou gets the job done for less money! My nails always look great. Once I messed up the polish on my big toe several hours after I left the salon. When I went back and showed them what I did, the gal redid my toe polish and wouldn't take any extra money. What I find the most interesting is learning about the hard working women at this salon, the countries they come from and what they think of the Americans they interact with on a day-to-day basis. The place was very clean. The staff were friendly. I could watch any show on t.v. They were very professional. When I was there, none of the staff talked to each other, and they were respectful. The staff were knowledgeable and knew what they were doing.They knew what I wanted and suggested what would go with my skin tone. After my manicure and pedicure. When getting a pedicure, there are massage chairs. It helped me to truly unwind. The nail polish dryers are very technological as well. And they gave me a massage as well while my nails were drying. I've been to other nail places where the staff are talking to one another and laughing obnoxiously, and that annoyed me. And I haven't been back there since. read more

Worst manicure experience ever!! The owner took an electric nail file (meant for acrylics) & filed down my nail bed in an attempt to cut my cuticles. One would think you can trust the owner to know what they are doing and take care of you... When i pointed out the indentations/gashes to my nails she told me not to worry because my nails will eventually grow out. A $17 manicure has resulted in me having to look at a damaged nail bed. I wouldn't have even give this salon "one star" if that had been an option! read more

I have driven by the place many times. They have lots of signs for their $35.00 Mani/Pedi. I had a couple of hours to kill. What a mistake. Walked in the "spa" a dog was roaming around. I am a dog lover (own two)... What the heck, nervous about the hygiene. The owner pick the dog up and kept it on her lap. Eeek! Notice all of the nail polishes looked so watered down with nail polish remover. The manicure was sloppy, I asked for a do over and she sighed and said "do over". um, yes! The pedicure, nightmare, all of my toenails are cut on a 45 degree angle. None are straight. Now I must cut all of my nails down. Just not good. My nails were an absolute mess when I walked in (not their fault) and they took me right away. Grace worked very hard on my nails and they look amazing! Even the owner came over and helped out. All of my cuticles were literally scabbed over from a previous hack job at a another place and they fixed me right up. I decided to stay for a pedicure and it was the best pedicure I have ever had! I am extremely ticklish on my feet so I never get the foot massage. How he massaged my feet without me feeling the least bit ticklish is beyond me. I may go once a week just for a foot massage ;) Price was right on point- plus the salon is gorgeous. 5 stars! read more

Terrible experience today. My manicure (no-chip) was very sloppy and was finished in 20 minutes. I elected not to tip based on this service. A staff member chased me out the door and told me to tip. She was very persistent and this was completely unprofessional. Gratuity is optional and should be based on quality of service. I typically tip 15-20% for good service. Do not get the no chip manicure! They advertise a $35 cost, but when I went with my friend, I was charged $45 because of the brand I selected. This was not communicated to me until after they charged my card. The technicians were unsure how to apply the polish. After one day, the polish has chipped! I will never go there again. This place deserves one star and that is for its location and space for a fun get together with girlfriends. But thats definitely not enough to bring me back! I went in on my birthday last Wednesday. This is not normally the place I go but my girlfriend I was going to see afterwards lives across the street. So why not try somewhere new? You think since they have such a great location and prices are higher than my normal salons, which is not even a mile away, that they have to do a good job. Not too mention they have competition right around the corner. Anyways I go in for a take off and new set of acrylics. I show her a picture of what I would like instead of having to explain. Oval and long. So we get to the point where she starts filing my nails and they are god awful crooked and not near oval. They are all mismatched lengths. I stop her to show her by comparing my two thumbs. They were two totally different crooked shapes and lenths. She says "ok ok. I know. I have been doing this shape long time." 65 bucks later she didn't fix them like I had asked her I walked out and I will never ever go there again. I went home and spent a half hour fixing them myself! Not worth it! Also to mention that she was making faces as if she was frusterated she had a customer the whole time I had her. Do not recommend. Quick to chip and did not even pumice my feet! I've come in a few times with coworkers and had a meh experience. Quick to chip every time. For a cheaper mani/pedi you sort of know it isn't going to be the best, this spot charges $35 so it is in the middle of the road on rates. From first glance, to me, it isn't the cleanest. Peep the towel warmer and the windows if you want to confirm...filthy. Their staff is quiet, speak very little English and are a bit on the aggressive side. I didn't "enjoy" my experience the first few times, but it did the job. The latest time, I came in for a pedicure with my friend, after a vacation in the desert. Due to wearing sandals I had rough heels and was looking to get them fixed up. I had stubbed my toe pretty hard the previous day, so my big toe was quite sensitive. I mention this at the start. She doesn't look up or acknowledge me in any way and proceeds to WRENCH the sharp end of the tool in the corner of my cuticle, set my teeth on edge immediately. My toe is now bleeding. She moves to the second toe, goes at it just as rough, I have to tell her to stop. Now my second toe is bleeding. She liberally sprays these with alcohol and it burns like hell. She finishing the cuticles, moves directly to painting. Usually at that point they pumice. I think she is going to do it after. Nope, throws on the paraffin and picks up my sandals. I ask, "Are you going to pumice?" and she says "I did." Ummmmm....I think I would've noticed, especially considering that is the whole reason I came and I can be quite ticklish so I would know. She shoves my sandals on and bounces, never to return. I wait until the paraffin dries and pull it off, sure enough, my heels are still rough as hell. I flag down the owner and we tell him that she never pumiced my feet, he says "Yes she did, I saw her do it." He had been on a manicure with his back to us nearly the entire time. Not only that, whatever happened to customer service?! He says something to his wife and she makes a face before walking over. She inspects my feet and then clearly realizes it was never attempted and goes through the process. No apologies, no acknowledgement, no mention or wonder as to why TWO of my toes were bleeding. A pedicure should be relaxing, not feel like medieval torture. I won't be returning, and I will recommend to my friends and to everyone else not to patronize this shop. read more

This place is clean, the staff is nice, and the mani/pedi is great! They even show movies while you are drying your nails. I really enjoy coming here. The only negative is the price. It is a tad expensive. If they had a lower price I would give this place 5 stars! read more

I live just down the street and honestly kept going back b/c I hadn't realized there was another option even closer to me (Salon Excursion). Pros: - Super clean place, light, big windows - New and comfy pedi chairs that all face out toward the windows and a big TV that's always showing a fun movie (27 dresses, SITC, Bridget Jones) - Special M-W $35 mani/pedi - BYOB - Typically pretty empty so you can get in and out. - Sometimes they give you a mini back massage as you dry your nails. - Good selection for regular nail polish Cons: - Not very friendly at all. I've now had most of the staff there do my nails and feet, and they're typically distracted talking on their phone, and scoff at you when you ask them to please clean up around your nails when they've left nail polish around them (has happened EVERY time but I still insist b/c I want my nails to look done by a professional not a child). - Very poor nail color selection when it comes to no chip. - Very poor quality no chip nail polish. I don't know if its that their no-chip nail polish is expired and they just keep adding something to it to try and keep it fresh instead of buying new polish, but twice now, I've had my no-chip mani color actually fade the same day I had it done. The first time, I went back and they were willing to redo it after some back-and-forth but they still charged me to remove it ($13). The second time I left to France the same day, when I came back I hoped they might at least take it off free of charge since the inconsistency in my nails was still visible on each nail. They rolled their eyes at me and refused since it had been weeks later (b/c I was out of the country). - I had the owner's daughter (Rebecca) do my nails twice for regular polish. Both times, my nails were brittle afterward and actually broke. The tips of my nails came off in layers. I've never had that happen after any other mani in the decade I've been getting mani's or even in the months I had been going there and having someone else there do my mani's, so though she was sarcastic to me about my concern and blamed me for it, I'm convinced it has something to do with how she does mani's. All in all, I haven't been back since the second no-chip incident which was in June, and am very happy to have found Salon Excursion. I would say if its M-W and you want a fast, cheap mani-pedi with regular polish, consider but do not go with Rebecca. If you're looking for a no-chip, don't bother. read more

I work in the area and have very little time outside of work to do anything. I had an appointment, and was seated right after I picked my color. I was surprised by the good reviews about Grace because she actually came off very crabby to me. I ended up with another girl who did my nails whom was very nice. The place was clean, but my nails are just ok but a bid oddly shaped. Definitely not worth the higher price. I will stick my my regular spot when I have time to get there. read more

I live right across the street and found the location of this nail salon to be the most convenient location I could ever ask for, but that's about the only thing that is good about this place. The woman that started doing my mani-pedi was disheveled looking with a dirty apron and coke bottle glasses. I was concerned, but wanted to give her a chance. Once she started doing my pedicure I realized my instinct was right on par. She filed every nail a different shape and cut my cuticles to the point that I had an ingrown toenail for the first time in my life!! Ouch! Anyways, she barely got through the pedicure before another nail technician took over. This was a male with the worst breath I have ever smelled, breathing it straight into my face!!! I thought I was going to die! Needless to say, the manicure was not any better than the pedicure. My nails looked better before I went in, and I will never return to that place again! read more
