I expected better than what I got: malpractice and abuse. I brought two bikes in for repair. One had a suspected front wheel issue I flagged as uncertain. The shop quoted one bike, never quoted or explained work on the other, then went unreachable and closed during posted hours (including a day I was told they'd be open). My bikes sat there for 7 days. I was charged $230, including unexplained work on the second bike. I paid without argument. Immediately after leaving, I found that bike's actual problem was still unfixed. When I brought it back, the owner looked at it for ten seconds and admitted it was the back wheel, not the front. When I asked why she hadn't caught this in seven days, she said it wasn't her job to look beyond what I'd pointed to, and offered to fix it for an extra fee. When I calmly pushed back on that logic, she told me I had "an attitude" and to leave her store. I responded that relying on her expertise wasn't an attitude. She then screamed at me, hurled a sexist slur and repeated profanity at me, and demanded I get out of her store. She grabbed a bike rack to physically block the entrance and shoo me out, and kicked dirt and twigs at me and my sweet mother standing outside, as she slammed the door, locking another customer inside the store with her in the process. This isn't a bad day, it's a pattern. Check the other reviews, including her own replies calling customers "entitled liars." Take your bike anywhere else on the Westside, anyone else will have the sense to appreciate your business and treat you with respect.

Sometimes they are understaffed, which makes service a bit slow, but they were always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - so when I decided to buy and e-bike, they were of course my first choice. Unfortunately, they did not have the model I wanted so I ordered directly from the manufacturer and had it shipped to Wheel World for assembly and delivery. Very, very different experience so far. I called them twice. Just twice. Over a period of 3 days. I first called to confirm they had received the bike (I received a delivery estimate, but no tracking number from the manufacturer). Instead of a "yes, we have it," I was met with a defensive and condescending diatribe about how they're very busy and it takes time to assemble a bike. I politely clarified that I just wanted to make sure they got it because I had no tracking number, and was told "that's what happens when you order directly from the manufacturer." He then, reluctantly looked it up and told me yes, they had received it, but they are very busy so it probably wouldn't be ready until the next day. I would get a phone call when it was ready. Given my rather long history with Wheel World, I hope that this was abherent behavior and that he was just having a bad day or something. I didn't get a phone call then next day, so I followed up the day after that (2 days after the first phone call) to get an ETA. Spoke to a different person, who started with "As my colleague told you..." then proceeded to give me the same defensive and condescending behavior, but did at least tell me they were charging the battery and downloading software updates, so the bike will be ready "today or tomorrow." So, apparently not abherent behavior - at least when it comes to bikes ordered online and shipped to them for assembly and delivery. My current theory is that they don't like playing this role because the bike wasn't bought from them. They're entitled to their feelings, but it's more than a little unprofessional of them to share them with a customer this way. This is a $6,000 e-bike. If they wanted me to buy it from them, they should have had it in stock. Since they didn't, they needed to exercise a little impulse control and not express their hurt feelings to a retail customer who had called them exactly TWICE in 3 days. The second time ONLY because it wasn't ready on the day they said it would be the first time I called. Now, instead of feeling excited about getting my new bike, I'm nervous about the kind of delivery experience I will have. They get 1 star so far. I'll update this review after I pick up the bike. UPDATE: Delivery experience was mostly excellent. Store was mostly empty (Super Bowl Sunday). Manager helped me and he was friendly and professional. I did share my telephone experience with him and he did listen and did apologize for my experience, but I have a feeling nobody else at Wheel World will ever hear about it. Still, the experience was at least pleasant, so I gave them 2 additional stars for that.

Our salesperson, Al, sold us on the "quality and value" of a $1,799 MSRP Magnum e-bike (purchased on sale for $1,100 in April 2024). We thought we were investing in a reliable bike. We were wrong. My bike has failed 3 times in just 2 months. After the first repair failed, management (Kit) promised to waive the costs if we brought it back. He broke that promise and charged us again anyway. You cannot trust a word this management says. After these "repairs," the shop returned the bike in a lethal state: it experienced unintended acceleration over 20mph without any user input. This "ghost riding" is a massive safety defect, yet the shop's "fix" lasted less than 2 miles before the bike died again. When we asked for a refund for the failed service, Kit treated us poorly and actually justified the breakdown by saying it's a "cheap" bike and we should expect it to break within 18 months. How do you sell someone a bike based on "$1,799 quality" and then tell them it's "disposable" once it becomes a death trap? One of our identical bikes works; this one is a lemon. Do not give your business to a shop that treats repeat customers like this and hides behind "cheap price" excuses for life-threatening defects. Edit** The manager's long-winded response perfectly proves my point. According to their logic, an $1,800 bike purchased from their shop is only expected to last about a year before it becomes a 'disposable' death trap. Instead of taking responsibility for returning a bike with a lethal safety defect (unintended 20mph acceleration), management chooses to hide behind technicalities and point the finger at the customer. If you expect your investment to last more than 18 months, do not buy from Bike Attack.

We rented bikes from Daniel's and had a very poor experience from start to finish…read more The bikes were old, rusted, and poorly maintained. Multiple gears didn't work correctly, the brakes barely functioned, and one bike had flat tires that I had to inflate myself before we could even ride. The helmets provided were heavily worn, and the lock included with the rental was just a basic cable lock. The employee specifically warned us to lock the bikes carefully since we were going to the Santa Monica Pier. Unfortunately, the cable lock THEY provided was cut, and one of the bikes was stolen. After returning and showing them the cut lock, they charged us $225 for the stolen bike, plus still charged us the rental fee. I understand being responsible for stolen rental equipment, but charging $225 for a bike in the condition this one was in felt excessive and unreasonable. These were not high-end bikes -- they looked heavily used and poorly maintained. What made the situation worse was the attitude afterward. They even told us they were "being nice" by not charging us for the cut lock. Then, after we said we would not return, one employee offered us a gift card to come back, which honestly felt strange after charging us hundreds of dollars. Overall, the bikes were low quality, poorly maintained, and the handling of the situation left a bad impression. I would not recommend renting here.
