I bought my first brand new car yesterday at Bill Wright Toyota. My dad and I came the night before to check things out after looking at Hondas, but the service at Honda was so bad we moved on. After a minute of being out of the car, Richard approached us and took our search seriously. Since I wasn't sure what I wanted, he took us through a few different areas until I decided I liked the Corolla iM the best. They didn't have any available for test drive since one had sold that day and the other was on the showroom floor, but he put me in a Corolla SE to try. It was late and i went home. This guy was personable, knowledgeable, and very customer first oriented, so I decided to come back in the morning and make my purchase! It took quite some time to get all the paperwork right, but he was so patient and helpful through the process and always looking for little ways to help things go smoothly. Our finance guy was also really friendly and thorough! When the whole process was done, they staged my car with a big red bow so I could take pictures. They also gave me a little reusable grocery bag, a nice pen, and a keychain. It was a thoughtful gesture. Had a deal in place for a used truck. Cash pay. I had an appt the next day to buy the truck the next morning after my baby's dr appointment. We settled on price and got a total out the door. They sold it under my nose 1 hr before my appointment. Bill Leen was my salesmen. This was disappointing, unprofessional, and very upsetting to me. All that time and talking was pointless and a waste of time. 3 of my family members have bought cars there doesn't matter. Only the fastest sale matters and no customer loyalty are taken in account. Bill wright Toyota needs to get their shit together. We scheduled an appt last week to go in today (2/5/22) for a recall service. When we got there they had no record of our appt. Which was fine, we explained to them that we talked to an employee in person last week to schedule the appt and they still took us in. No problems just yet. We dropped the car off at 9am and the paperwork said 11:30 estimated completion time. We didn't get any sort of text so eventually we went back at 1pm. They told us that they ran tests on the part that needed recall but weren't seeing any issues and wanted to keep the car til Monday to run further tests. We told them we couldn't due to our work schedules and we'd just wait for the recall part became available before coming back to have it replaced. At this point, they said they would run it thru the car wash and bring our car out. By the time we got our paperwork it was around 2:30-3p and I realized they didn't provide the multipoint inspection paperwork. When I went to ask the employee about it, he said they didn't do it. I pointed out that it was listed as job #2 on our paperwork so why was it not done? They said that since we decided not to leave it, they wanted to just get it thru the car wash as quick as possible so that we could be on our way. Weird but ok fine, at least the car would be clean, right? WRONG. They brought our car out @3:30 looking exactly how we brought it in. So WTF was our car doing there from 9am to 3:30pm if they didn't replace any parts, didn't do a multipoint inspection, and didn't wash it? I would have had no issue if it was just the recall issue. Yet they specifically told me to my face that no multipoint was done in order to wash our car and THEN THEY DONT EVEN FREAKING WASH IT. USELESS EMPLOYEES TODAY. I contacted the service dept. for a quote for front and rear strut and shock replacement on my '03 4Runner. I promptly received an email stating they would send a quote to me soon. I sent a reminder email 2 days later and heard nothing back. Contacted them 6 days later, and the service dept. said I would receive a quote, but didn't know when. I called Sierra Toyota in Lancaster, and they put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back with a quote. Think I'll take my business there. read more

Well this is my 4th Toyota from Bill Wright so you figure it would be 5 stars. I'm giving one star to the first sales rep that helped me and one for the second who was a floor manager. Well 3 visits later after getting ignored by smokers huddled in a circle and acting like I'm wasting their time and being treated like a was a dime a dozen, I bought a Highlander. This is a 1/3 of my income. I would have gone to Frontier who kept calling me but it was too far and I didn't have the time. The day I bought the car I thought OK this is their last chance, everything went great UNTIL they insisted I give them a 10 on the survey because their pay depends on it over 4x.WHAT? They should have said "We would like you to give us a 10 if for any reason you think we dont deserve one please let us know what we can do." I just have to say I don't know what has happened to Bill Wright Toyota but I have been a customer for 20 years your sales people and managers need a class on manners and how to treat people that are spending their hard earned $$, like they are human. This is for the Bill Wright Toyota service department. I've been taking advantage of the warranty I have with my Toyota and get my oil changed, tires rotated, and aligned regularly. I have never had a bad experience. The staff has always been fast, nice and accommodating. The longest I've had to wait was an hour. The waiting room is large, but fills up rather quickly. They have a free soda machine, coffee machine and cooler for water bottles. They have a play room for those who have to bring their children. You don't have to have an appointment to get service, but be prepared to wait longer. read more

This has been the worst experience of my life. I brought my car in for a check up and they messed up my rim and ripped the tire , which makes me wonder how they were driving my car (no respect towards others property). On top of that they sent me home with a messed up tire and had me come back a week later so that they could fix it. Then to find out I had to leave my car over night they offered me a rental said it would all be covered. Then once a got to the rental place they said I had to pay for the deposit. You can imagine my frustration on top of the messing up my car I still had to pay for rental deposit, so frustrating. When I finally go pick up my car they have me wait for an hour just to give me my paper work. This place is ridiculous no communication, no respect towards property,I can go on and on. I purchased a 2010 Toyota Prius in December 2014. When I took it on the test drive, I tried to mess with the GPS and it wouldn't do anything. The salesman said it worked but wasn't familiar with the system, and said he would help when we got back from the test drive. When I got back to the dealership, the haggling started. The salesman couldn't get to where I needed, so he went and got a "manager" for me to talk to. The manager said not to worry, or shop anywhere else because they went through the car 100% to ensure everything worked correctly and said that the car was 100% functional. After leaving the "manager" called me and said he could do the price I wanted and I decided to buy the car with $5000 dollars down. Next I spoke with the finance manager and he informed me that I did not need the warranty because the car was went through and nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I actually wanted he warranty, but he reassured me that I did not need to worry. The next day I took the car out and tried to connect the blue tooth to my phone and set up the GPS. Weird, it didn't work! I couldn't even adjust the bass or set radio stations and the bass is set way too high. I texted the salesman and he said he would talk to the "manager" I spoke with initially an see what they could do. Upon buying the vehicle told me to read the manual, so of course I did, with zero success. Less than a week from buying the car, I was driving down the road and the whole drivers side wheel well cover just fell off. The whole thing! I called them back to let them know about it. I contacted my salesman several times through texts and you guessed it no reply. The service department called and set up an appointment so I brought it in. They said that it would be $330 for the wheel well cover and something like $2500 for the GPS/Bluetooth system. I said I would not be paying for it because I was assured everything worked prior to the vehicle purchase. They informed me that thy would not replace anything for free because the week well cover happened because I hit something while driving. I had two witness with me all day when the wheel well cover fell of and reiterated that I didn't hit anything. They informed me because it was not a safety hazard they would not be replacing anything. I contacted my lawyer, which I can't talk too much about because we are still seeking legal avenues, but I was able to get another appointment. I also found out that the "manager" I spoke with was merely just another salesman pretending to play the part. In my mind, the integrity of the dealership was lost at that point. Lying several times to your buyer is a perfect example of zero integrity. I brought the car back and they said thy would replace the wheel well cover, but when they did it was I'll fitting and looked extremely cheap. Remember they wanted to charge me $330 for this, and when I found it online it ranged between $36 - $56. Wow! My family and friends have purchased several vehicles from this dealership in the past but will not be returning do to my experience. I have thousands of friends here in Bakersfield and trust me, I have told most of them my story. Sad that a few thousand dollars to fix my car has ended up with Bill Wright toyota loosing potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars. I hope no one has to go through the hellacious experience I went through, and only shop at dealerships that provide the upmost customer service; that is expected when you buy the second largest investment most will make in a lifetime. read more

Not my best experience here. When I was contacted to verify my appointment, the gal asked if I needed a loaner vehicle or if I wanted to take the courtesy shuttle. I explained I had an appointment just down the street shortly after and said the shuttle would be fine. I made it clear that I needed the shuttle immediately after I drop off my vehicle for service. On the day of my appointment, the courtesy van was full and Jaime R. stated I needed to wait for the other shuttle or take my car back and bring it at a later time. I then asked for a loaner vehicle and Jaime said they do not offer those. I explained to Jaime I was offered one a few days prior. Anyhow, it was turning a bit into an argument. Pretty upset on how this dude handled the situation. When I arrived to pick up my car, my car was not washed as I previously asked Jaime. He said he forgot to write it on the ticket. read more

We just bought our used 2012 Dodge Challenger Yellow Jacket from Robert Miller at Bill Wright Toyota. We were pre-qualified and ready to buy. It was 7:00 pm by the time we got there (after my Husband got home from work in LA). It was on a Wednesday night. Robert went with us for the test drive. He was SO professional and courteous. He was never pushy or the stereotypical "car salesman". He worked very hard for us and we were there very late. Everyone (Us and the staff) were very tired. But nobody rushed us or made us feel like a hindrance. We love our car. Love our experience with Robert. We got a great deal and will definitely call on Robert for any future car buying we do. While signing our paperwork, the finance guy, "Paul" noticed that my Husband is a veteran (due to us having USAA insurance). He asked my Husband what branch and kindly thanked my husband for his service. And when he learned that my Husband is an injured Combat Veteran (Marine), he exclaimed that he is going to do something VERY nice for us!!! After signing a majority of our documents, he showed us what he was "doing" for us. That he was "throwing in" this killer warranty that covers dents and many other things: at NO COST to us! Had us sign something just acknowledging that we are receiving this. Sounded so simple! In the meantime, our finance company says that this $300 warranty was added to our loan amount. Now Bill Wright Toyota is telling us that our finance company "denied" us. However, we hung up from BWT and called our loan company and they said, "you are ABSOLUTELY APPROVED and the only thing 'denied' is this warranty that BWT is trying to slide into your loan"! We were pre-approved for and purchased a $40,000 + vehicle and it's coming down to $300 we didn't even ask for or agree to??? What's wrong with this picture? So, needless to say, I'm NOT so excited and/or happy about my purchase and/or the experience any longer! This has been a huge nuisance and burden during our "vacation". Causing lots of anxieties, burden and worry. Not fun. I don't like anyone "sliding" things into my loan or misleading us under the guise of respecting an injured Combat Veteran. I bought my Prius at this location (Jan 2010) and it was a pretty standard transaction. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted; I called ahead to make sure they had it in inventory; I paid exactly what I expected and researched. So, there's that. I've found their service department o be superior to other dealers in the LA/Kern area. I made an appointment online and was able to change it online also. I was early and they accomodated me. They recommended less service than I was due for based on the previous maintenance done to my vehicle and did not recommend extraneous services (ie, windshield wipers, etc). They honored my expired coupon. The car wash was free. I had an oil change/tire rotation/inspection and I was in and out in 75 minutes- they had told me 90 minutes tops. So my expectations were managed, I left paying less than I expected, and got a free car wash. What else can you ask for? read more

1-15-22 went in for oil change and inspection on my tires. Told advisor I purchased tires 1 year ago and it's only been 12,000 miles and in your package you guys said they were guaranteed cover for 4 years. If tires didn't last for 4 years then honor price difference that was guaranteed for life of tire. The advisor took no initiative to help me and would not look into this. I ask for list for tire cost and she would not give me anything until after tires inspection. I feel with or without the inspection I should have received tire prices and cost comparison like I did last year. The advisor could of also look up the advisor who service me year ago and ask him. Also when it was time to pick up my car the counter lady call Estela to bring the invoice and she respond she needs a minute. 10 minutes later I'm waiting and I decide to go to Esela office she is fooling around and laughing with another co worker and I do not appreciate that. As soon as I step in the office the male guy leaves immediately and I ask for my invoice. She doesn't fully go over the results and fails to tell me about my air filter. She tells me everything check out good just tires are in red. Clearly she didn't even read the inspection paper work. I've been going to Toyota since 2009 and this is by far the worst service I've ever received. Also with limited women In the automotive industry it's disappointing her actions and flirting with another co worker and Ignoring her duty as an advisor. I cannot say enough good things about Drew (service advisor) and this dealership. My mom and son were driving to LA from Sacramento and broke-down near the Grapevine. I had the car towed to Bill Wright Toyota around 5pm. Drew took care of them by arranging a rental car so they could continue their 3 day trip while he looked into the problem. Drew kept us up to date on the progress and could not replicate the issue even after the technician put 50 miles on the car. I bought the Toyota Care package so that all my routine maintenance is paid for in advance. My truck started to grab when braking so I asked them to look at my brakes on rotors during my routine maintenance. After they completed they told me my brakes are fine and so are the rotors ( I specifically asked to check those too). Again at my next routine maintenance I told them the problem seems to be getting worse. Again they "check" the brakes and rotors and say everything is fine. On my last routine maintenance my husband takes it in and tells them and was told our rotors are warped and needed repair. I think they intentionally over look problems so when it gets bad enough they can charge more. I recommend going else where for routine maintenance so maybe things will be fixed as before he gets too expensive. Not to mention the safety factor in all of this. read more

Recently purchased a new vehicle from the dealership. We had a great experience with the purchase process and Bill Wright actually beat our bank's offer by quite a bit. We also purchased a warranty and service plan since the vehicle was new and was our first hybrid. When we arrived for our first service, we were taken care of very well. We had come in a bit early on the mileage, but we don't rack up a lot of miles. They still gave us a full service, rotated my tires and cleaned it up. We had a few scratches from a local stray that enjoys our warm hood, and the service team had them buffed out for me - a service we were prepared to pay for.
