Really nice surprise visiting this unassuming bar based on the terrific reviews I've been reading for over a year. We just went on impulse and made in with 30 minutes to spare to make breakfast. We eat here weekly and have been going here since 2014. The staff are fast fun and always friendly. Service is great no matter how busy. The room is darker at night but cozy despite being bigger. They have music frequently and even do music outside on the deck in summer time. Soups are really great, steaks, burgers lots to choose that has been reliably delicious I'm happy to say. Steaks made as ordered and full bar. Kids welcome until 9pm. They frequently sponsor worthy causes such as Rock for Autism. This is close to i5 right off hwy 99. Stopped in for lunch with family. A family friend had told us to check it out for their food. Prior to today, the only other time I've visited was to see a cover band with a group of friends on a Saturday night. We were greeted as we walked in and invited to sit anywhere we'd like. We chose a table across from the bar. The seating wasn't typical for a restaurant, definitely a bar atmosphere. Our server was nice and friendly. She came over and took our drink order. We also asked for menus as some of us don't have the QR code app on our phone. She was helpful and accommodating. Our table ordered the reuben sandwich with fries, halibut tacos with Spanish rice and tortilla chips, and the chicken cobb salad. We also ordered a couple of beers, one on tap and the other bottled. We asked for a glass for the bottled beer and were given a nice frosty one. I'm not sure why one wasn't served with the bottled beer, but she did bring it promptly after asking. Our food was fresh and good, but nothing spectacular. The halibut portions in the two tacos were pretty small...it tasted mostly like lettuce. I didn't care for the Spanish rice and thought salsa should have been served with the tortilla chips. It was just an odd combination for me. It also came with a side salad of mixed greens. The salad was fresh and had a slice of cucumber and croutons. The ranch dressing was really good. My husband really liked his reuben sandwich and fries. My father-in-law seemed to like his salad. It was a large salad and he ate more than half. It looked fresh. Overall, it was a decent experience. The old bar/tavern atmosphere isn't that appealing to me, and the food wasn't memorable, so I won't be returning. My husband said he would definitely return with his buddies for a guys night out. This is an awesome place. Especially Friday evenings when they serve their prime rib. I got there around 5:30 pm on Friday evening and the place was pretty packed. We got a couple $7.00 micro beers and talked for awhile at our table of 8 people. I got an $11.00 tic-tac- too. Lol. Most of ordered either the 16oz prime rib special for $32.00 or the 12 ounce prime rib for $28.00. It comes with salad or soup, mashed or fully loaded baked potato. They give you hot and creamy horseradish sauce and aujus. I got the end cut of the 12 oz prime rib and it was deliciously seasoned, hot and good. The baked potato was loaded and mucho hot too. Which I like it hot. The salad was really good with my thousand island dressing. You can tell this place is a well fine tuned machine as they have a good rhythm going. It was fun playing pool in the back with my buddies. The pool is free too. The band starts at 9pm and if you arrive at 5:30pm like we did you still have to pay $15.00 each to watch the band if you wanna stay there after 9pm. Sad because we spend $125.00 each of us. That's four husbands paying close to $500.00 and we can't even watch the show? Wth? Oh well, I was stuffed anyways and we gout out of there by 8:45pm. I will come back again for sure. read more

We love it here. Each kids meal is 7-8 dollars and comes with a gummy worm, which my daughter loves. The adult entrees are great - killer blue cheese burger for $19 and the portion is generous. The food is pretty good, I do enjoy it, but the prices are outrageous. $20 for chicken fried steak? And this was pretty consistent through the whole menu, almost every item was about $20. Ended up ordering a Bloody Mary and a beer, and those two things also came out to $20. The Bloody Mary was also just ok. Very weak. I don't know how anyone could even get a buzz with those prices and weak drinks. I don't enjoy how dark and stagnant it is inside either. I love going to Billy's for their live Music and for swing and blues partner dancing. They are allowing the volume to be too loud for their patrons safety. I was there last week and even with musician grade ear protection my ears were ringing for 3 days. I've posted a discussion on this on Facebook and learned that at least 8 friends who go out dancing won't go there anymore because of the unsafe decibel level. We went for my birthday and they had excellent live music with no cover charge. Service was excellent. Food was not bad, but French dip roll was a bit greasy. Shrimp appetizer was good. If you like loud music, sports bars with tvs, and loud people, this place is for you! I ordered Hungarian mushroom soup and fish & chips. The soup was so thick and gluggy you could almost stand your spoon up in it. It needed to be thinned down a lot. The flavor was pretty good. The fish & chips were fine. One of the things I love most about this place is that no matter how large our city grows, it remains comfortingly the same. The service, the menu, the food...consistently the same. Love that! Their breakfasts are hearty and remind me of the meals I'd like to cook if I had those skills! Chicken-fried steak, biscuits and gravy, crispy hash browns, skillets, and delicious Bloody Marys. We used to go to Billy Blues for decent food for a reasonable price..it's close to our house but the last several times we've been there the food has been subpar and overpriced The calamari was so rubbery and badly crusted Also the clam chowder had big lumps of flour in it i was hoping the lumps were clam or potato but nooo they were flour. not good! the service was fine this last time and mostly good every time we've been there. If you're looking for the best French Dip in the county, look no further! It's a bar and dining room, so it's not fancy, but the food is fantastic! In the summer they have outdoor seating, which I personally love. They have pool tables and a decent selection from the bar. The service is quick! The employees seem like family and the live music is fun, if that's what you're looking for. We have been enjoying dinners from Billy Blues for years. It just never disappoints. Go check them out. Stopped in here on a Wednesday at about 1 o'clock. Had an appointment in a half an hour. I asked the bartender if I could get a cup of soup or a salad in that time. She said yes. I went and sat down. She never came over to me at all. Didn't bring me my water until the soup came. Which was about 20 or so minutes later. It was French onion. Not good at all. Soup was not even hot. I do love this place, I really do! My family and I have been coming here for years, but something has changed and I am not sure if they went through an ownership/management change or what. But I am not really digging the vibe and here is why. *Manager - not friendly at all. Treats you like a child yet doesn't check your ID * Can't move tables together for outside seating and friends. Cant crank down the umbrellas to enjoy some sunshine on the outside patio -outside! Can't sit on the couches if they don't feel like putting the cushions out. Can't! Can't! Can't! That's all I hear and I am just trying to enjoy myself on the patio. *Food is good - I really like the chicken salad and the portions are always filling and smells great! Great dance floor, Great music. Decent food, fair cover charge. We love to come here to dance, all except that damn fog machine !! it is sooooo awful and they use it a lot. Poor service, can't get a drink or water. Stand at the bar for feels like 10 min. then try to poor my own water ( several pitchers sitting on bar) and get chastised by the bartender ( WHO IS ALWAYS VERY RUDE) and told to ask my waitress! who never comes by to ask if we want anything!! We are not drinkers but usually order food or appetizers and soda's . we always leave a great tip, and tip while ordering things like lemons for our water that are free, give the waitress a buck or 2 for her time. I used to waitress in a tavern , I was trained to treat all customers the same, doesn't matter what they are drinking , eating , or not!! I always got great tips because of it!! Definitely recommend this place for food and drinks. It is a bar so later they have live bands and adult entertainment with the music. Weekends they have football games playing on big screens throughout the restaurant. Ok all that being said. I am not really into the bar scene. So I come here for the Outstanding food.
