I recently moved to a senior community. I did not want to spend my spare time doing yard work nor hire a gardener. I am also very conscious about water conservation. I had a couple of spots that needed patch work done, Braulio came on time & did the patch work so well I could not tell it had been patched. Could not see seams or any difference in the turf. I chose not to contract with Easy Turf for the following reasons. Their contract provides no details regarding the service that they offer. The contract simply states that they will install the turf, square footage and name of the turf. There are no details in the contract as to the underlayment (e.g., Is it dirt or decomposed granite? How deep is the underlayment?), details of how it is staked down (e.g., What size stakes? Are stakes used at all?), or details of what is added on top (e.g., Is silica sand added? What type? How much per sq. ft.?). I contacted the CEO and head of sales, Cobb Street, and he also refused to put any of these details in the contract. Yet he said they guarantee their work. Hmmm. Legally, the buyer can only hold them accountable to the details of the service specified in the contract. But buyer beware! We scheduled our appointment on a Monday for the following Thursday, 4:30-5. At 4:55 we called, the woman looked our appointment up, she told us we still had 5 minutes and she was sure he'd be there any minute. When he still wasn't there at 5:05 we called back. The woman stated that he was only 5 minutes late and that he was probably stuck in traffic. After putting me on hold, she said she was unable to get ahold of him and that traffic can sometimes be unpredictable. I was again told he'd be here soon. At 5:20 she calls back to tell me that my appointment was next week and not this week and that he is at another appointment. Not sure if that's true, or not, but either way she could have told me that 30 minutes ago when she looked my appointment up. I'm not impressed. read more

BTW we live here in San Marcos. After 2 years and close to $9,000. Our Pet friendly turf looks like the commercial of what not to buy! For comparison We have two pieces of product ( from our old house) Tuff Turf! that is walked on everyday! Why is that important? Because after weeks of trying to get a response, their guy looked at the pics ( they requested) and said as far as he is concerned it looks normal! When i asked how that could be he stated "You must be walking on it!!!!!!" Half of our lawn looks fine! half is a crappy matted mess! The presentation by the sales rep, Paul, was top notch, so was the installation. However, the day after the easy turf was installed, we noticed that the sprinkler system was totally shut off. The plants and trees on the wise of the wall did not get any water for five days it took to get Easy Turf to send their service tech. He was not well versed in the operation of the controller and timer and had hard time to figure out what had happened and how to fix it. In the future, I would highly recommend that the property owner make absolutely sure that everything is working well and that there are no issues after the installation crew has left. read more

I originally had my lawn replaced in the front and back by these folks five years ago. They were awesome and the product is great. Subsequently a huge tree oroot grew underneath the grass in the front and erosion caused depressions under the grass. I called and initially spoke to their extremely competent and friendly scheduler. My father bought this product from Easy Turf. The installation is terrible. There is a dip where there used to be a tree. It looks like a large round depression in the center of the front yard. There are weeks growing around the edges of the "lawn." The weeds are not a bonus. Dad cannot complain, as he passed away this past spring. It took Easy Turf over a week to call me back and schedule an appointment. The guy on the phone needs to humble himself. Talking about how great their product is and the competitors are crap. He quoted me over the phone $11-$13 a sq ft. He did not seem eager to come out and give me a quote but he eventually gave me date to come out. Then, he never showed up for his appointment. I got my EasyTurf about a year ago. It looks great, buy as other reviews on Yelp have written, the service is horrible. Service and communication within the company and to at least me no existing. They had an individual come out to "spruce" it up. Yea OK the metal stakes where up I believe 3 of them. Did this guy check no. I hate to give poor reviews, but want to ensure others who are considering synthetic turf are fully knowledgeable about this company. First off the consultation was great--Michael was knowledgable and quoted a price for our backyard turf install. I asked specific questions including about any heat-resistant technologies and how the turf fared in direct sun, as our backyard gets very hot with a lot of direct sun exposure. He insisted the turf was great, never once mentioning the chance that our window facing the lawn could possibly burn the turf, something I came to find out is not uncommon, and a complaint they have definitely had before. I was furious they didn't mention the chance of that happening; and the men who installed the turf also did not mention this possibility. Their english was poor and they told me they would have the manager call me later, which he never did. Though the installers were polite and worked hard, dirty finger prints were left onto the screen of the window, and a black tarp was hung up over the window (they weren't able to explain why) and I only found out later that the tarp was to protect the turf (i.e. as soon as the turf was removed, a strip of black tar and melted synthetic grass occurred almost immediately. For over $2000 for a small area covered, I was disappointed and felt taken advantage of, and was subsequently unable to reach Michael for several days by phone or email. After almost a month, I was able to get someone to come out and cut away the burned portion. The burned/melted area has grown as the reflection off the window continues, and spreads out as the days change/sun hits different spots, so we spent a lot of money blocking the reflection with large ceramic pots and large succulent plants directly in front of the lower portion of the window. I only give 2 stars because they did remove the burned portion for us, though it is not professional to not only omit vital information and warnings, remain difficult to contact, and not respect the homeowners' yard by leaving dirt, smudges on windows and screens and plastic tarps duct-taped to the window with no explanation. I recommend them only if there are NO windows anywhere near the area you'd like the turf; then it would be a great, easy solution if you are thinking of a low maintenance way to maintain a pristine yard. read more

I give the turf product 5 stars. There is nothing better in San Diego. However the price for install I would give 1 star. We ended up not using Easy Turf for install and instead used another contrator (Rich Giglio ) to install. Easy Turf wanted $4800 to take up ivy and river rock and then install their turf. We ended up buying the same turf at their parking lot sale, which they have a few times a year, and having Rich install. We saved thousands of dollars and got the same quality product. We love the pet grass. It is working out great with our pack of dogs and looks beautiful. My only complaint is with the company itself. Installers were good but during the sales process we were "sold" on the rebates that would be coming up in our area so to make sure we keep an eye out so we can apply. Of course we understand that rebate money runs out and that we could have lived with, however we discovered that you have to apply for the rebate BEFORE the work is done because the water dept/rebate agency has to come out and take pictures and measure etc before your yard is removed and it has to be pre-approved. When I asked my sales rep about it later she simply said there isn't that much money available for the rebates anyways. It would have been preferable to be able to apply and get what we get versus being stripped of our option to even try. I tried calling the corporate office to see if they would like to try to help correct this but only ever get a voicemail. Maybe EasyTurf would like to contact us and pay us our rebate directly! As in other reviews we do have weeds growing around the edges but that isn't really a concern to us. Weeds have a way of getting into everything so we just pull them when we are doing work on the surrounding planters. Weeds are going to happen. If you are considering doing this to get the rebates, make sure you visit your local water agency website to find out the conditions for applying. I feel duped on that aspect. read more

We had the sales rep back over to the house with little help. He gave us a bottle of EasyTurf ET-ENVIROZYME Enviro-Zyme Urive Neutralizer. The stuff does nothing. . If we knew how bad the Easy Turf would stink from our dogs Urine we would have stayed with real grass. The cost of using EasyTurf ET-ENVIROZYME Enviro-Zyme Urive Neutralizer over the period of a year if used as described on the package would be more than watering a real lawn. read more

There's no option for zero stars or that's what I would of given Easy Turf. If you have a dog or live where the temperature gets above 70 degrees DO NOT waste your money and a lot of money at that on this terrible product. Not only is the product horrible Easy Turf will stop returning your calls after the product is installed and will do nothing to work with you to resolve problems. Almost immediately after having what was sold as pet friendly turf in our backyard installed it started smelling like urine from ONE dog! No matter what product we attempt to use that's supposed to help eliminate the smell my back yard constantly smells like pet urine. And if having your yard smell of urine isn't bad enough, don't attempt to walk on the turf if the temperature outside gets above 70 degrees. It gets so hot you must wear shoes and my dog hates walking on it. When I repetitively asked Rose the sales person about the turf getting hot her answer was to just spray it with water to cool it off. Well let me tell you that does nothing but make the urine smell worse and then I have wet smelly turf. We are so disappointed with our turf and are out 14,000 dollars because we feel there's no other option at this point besides to rip it out and go back to real grass. Wonderful and professional that's my experience with EasyTurf. Their consultant Paul Villarreal was very professional and call me to confirm our scheduled appointment and to let me know he was running a few minutes behind due to LA traffic. He right away provided me with a samples of the kind of turf I was looking to have installed the Pet Friendly turf. He did a layout and designed and took measurements to provide with a total cost of the installation, in addition he gave a tips on how to maintain the turf from smelling during the summer months. At no time during the estimate meeting did I feel pressure to sign a contact with EasyTurf.
