Not many choices on the menu compared to other restaurants but the food is good as always. I've been to this restaurant for over 10 years. They only accept cash.

    Goat udder
    Noba N.

My friend had searched all of California as she was craving goat udder and found it in a local restaurant in Artesia and flew in from SF for her bday to eat here She wanted to show me that there's more to Vietnamese food than bahn mi and pho and boy did she order a lot of new tastes for me! The menu is mostly Vietnamese bar food. You look inside and what the restaurant assumes the general public doesn't care for is listed only in Vietnamese and the common foods had English translations on it so it may be good to take a friend who can read Vietnamese. The goat udder was nice and chewy. I surprisingly liked it. Fried frog tasted like chicken but when chewed it felt like I was eating fish. Goat salad tasted like the inside of a spring roll where there was peanuts some citrus and lots of fresh herbs. Goat curry tasted like oxtail to me but was Delicious. Extra bread is $3 Clams were sweat broth with spice chopped in with super delicious herbs. The quail reminded me of Peking duck I appreciate having access to such variety of food!

Food is so good and the price? OMG extremely affordable I'm sad that I didn't this place sooner

    Tiếc canh vịt

This place has a lot of "do nhau" (drinking) food; which I love. Tiếc canh, dê xào lăn, and Vú dê nướng are among the popular dishes here. It's difficult finding unique Vietnamese dishes like these in SD; but OC have plentiful. I was recently introduced to this place by my sister and will make it a stop for some to-go every time I'm up in OC.

    Gia cay heo

This place reminds me of being in Vietnam. The location is more of a hole in the wall place, not the most glamorous and definitely not the most cleanest, lol. Most of the dishes they serve are Viet drinking food. You have your 'tiet canh' (ducks blood) and many types of clams. Try these if you are feeling adventurous! I have also had their goat hot pot which was huge! I recommend getting this only if you have 3 or more in your party as we couldn't finish it between 2 people. We also tried the 7 courses of goat which was all delicious! My favorite were the goat curry (cari de)- so tender and well seasoned! The grilled goat meat was also super tasty. Another dish I had was the heo gia cay. It is a this pork soup served with rice noodles on the side. The broth is so flavorful and chock full of chopped up herbs and spices like lemon grass and galangal. Very fragrant! I would recommend coming here if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese drinking food! It is much different from your typical Viet meals like pho, bun bo hue, banh xeo, etc. Come here only if you are feeling ADVENTUROUS!

This place has the best Tiet Canh (duck's or goat's blood pizza) in town. It's a small restaurant that holds about 25 people at capacity, so it's not recommended for big parties. If you have a couple of people who's down to eat good food and have some cold beers in the early afternoon, this is the place to go. They have a lot of nhau (drinking/finger) food to choose from, as well as rice and noodle dishes. They're known for their goat dishes, but everything I have tried here is good. Be warned that it's cash only here and the place close around 7pm. It's a small family owned restaurant with no AC and the owner may look grumpy, but the food is exceptional and once in awhile you'll catch a glimpse of his smile. Try it if you're in the area.

The tiet canh was awesome. Be Thui not so much

The only place to go for Tiet Canh in OC. If you don't know what it is.. google it. It's not for everyone but I love it.

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

It also came with their dipping sauce, red rice and a fried egg. They also give you a side of broth. I was not a fan of their rice. Not sure if it was just that night or if it's how their rice is always cooked, but the rice was on the drier side so I had pour soup on my rice or else it was too dry. Service was okay. I would give them another try. Maybe for their noodle soup dishes.

If that bit of consistency doesn't speak volumes I don't know what will. Oc & Lau specializes in Vietnamese street food and essentially works in family style dining. Everything is brought out in platters & large bowls where food is shared amongst the table. The menu is filled with Vietnamese salads, snails, assortment of seafoods, rice, noodles, and hotpot. Vegetarian options are available. As if the menu isn't extensive enough, there is a whole section of drinks- alcoholic & non alcoholic. Must haves: *COCONUT ESCARGOT w/ BASIL LEAVES *GRILLED GARLIC BUTTER ESCARGOT *GRILLED RAZOR CLAMS IN GARLIC BUTTER & PEPPERCORNS *GRILLED RAZOR CLAMS IN TAMARIND SAUCE *SALT & PEPPER SQUID *SPICY GRILLED CHICKEN FEET *RARE BEEF SALAD *DEEP FRIED QUAIL IN BUTTER HOUSE SAUCE *GARLIC BUTTER QUEEN CLAMS The food is authentic and genuinely great! Ingredients are always fresh and the quality is on point. My complaints stem from the restaurant ALWAYS being "sold out" of the razor clams and the stir fried basil clams coming out soupy and off tasting to what they normally should taste like. Not too big of a deal once you factor in all the other great qualities Oc & Lau has. The pricing is costly and the portions can be small depending on what you are ordering. Things add up quite quickly since my family and I eat to get stuffed. Lmao. 5/5 stars because a trip to LA isn't a trip to LA without visiting O&L!!! I'll forever be a fan!!
