An vat OC, I've been here many times and keep coming back. The food is consistently good and well-balanced ,not too salty, and the rice paper is just right. Service is okay, though not especially friendly. The shop itself is small but clean and well organized. Prices are pretty standard compared to other rice paper spots. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5

An OG place for some authentic Vietnamese snacks if you're in OC! So many new places opened but I always going back to this one because of their foods Foods came out pretty fast and you also have a place to sit down

Food 4/5: Snacks, bite size rice paper with several different add ons. Overall, sweet, spicy, salty. Overall very good snack. Service 4/5: Great nice quick staff. Ambiance 3/5: A bit small and tiny tables. Get ready for some low bends at the knees.

I love an vat OC but I don't know why they keep making small mistakes :( I drive an hour to get this but come back home with missing item - Mắm me the soul of banh trang cuon Last time same order and came home, missing mango and veggie. Though there are some strong competitors, I still choose An Vat OC since it's my hotspot. But the same small mistakes keep happening PS: there was no one there when I pick up my order so it wasn't that packed to get it right

We always enjoy coming here. There's always something new to try and this time we were lucky to find they had the sweet and savory cake I like so much. The label called it a BONG LAN TRUNG MUOI. we got other favorites but my husband ordered in Vietnamese so no idea what he got -- I just know it's delicious. The ambience is great, the food and drinks even more so. Always a pleasure.

Cute shop, delicious Vietnamese snacks that you can hardly find at a normal Vietnamese restaurant/super market. Prices are reasonable, But service could be a little faster. Overall a good experience, will come back ;)

Finally got to check out this snack shop in OC! The decor is super cute and reminded me of Vietnam. They specialize in rice paper snacks with different sauces, and they also sell packaged options so you can recreate everything at home. Since it was my first visit, I was overwhelmed trying to decide what to order. We ended up getting the banh trang tron, banh trang cuon bo, cuon bo trung lac top mo, and banh trang cuong top mo cham. For drinks, we tried the house milk tea and the mango passion green tea. I loved the balance of sweet, spicy, and salty flavors with the rice paper - everything was unique and flavorful. After a while, it did start to feel a bit overwhelming with so many flavors. My favorite was the banh trang tron. The rice paper was perfectly shredded and not too chewy, plus the portion was huge for the price! I'd order that again. If you're craving a little taste of Vietnam in OC, check out A Vat!

I would only give 2 stars for nice and clean packaging, and top mo We ordered 7 boxes yesterday of their new item Bánh Tráng Cuốn lòng đào $15.73 with added tóp mỡ $1.5. Bills came out as $16/order. All I can say is it was not worth it, Sauce is meh, and their roll is all green onion with thin slides of quail eggs. Was super chewy , and all we tasted was just green onion and super chewy rice paper... It was so mediocre that we felt like it was a scam. SAVE YOUR MONEY, May be other reviews here are for different items. But to us this is so not worth our trip to get banh trang cuon from them.

I have been coming here for about a year or two now but today i had the worst experience ever. They recently change the menu and up their prices. The menu from before was really easy to read and understand as there were pictures next to it. I want to order the banh tranh cuon but with their new menu I have no clue what to order. The cashier was the rudest person ever, like i'm sorry for not able to speak good vietnamese. I was trying to explain what was in the roll I want and she just did not understand. I end up getting the BT cuon bo dac biet for 10.99 which was 7.99. I get the same amount of pieces for another 2-3 dollar more. Never coming back here. Do not come here if you can't speck good vietnamese because they will treat you like trash. Cause if they are treating someone who is vietnamese but can't really speck the language so badly, imagine how they treat everyone else who isn't vietnamese.

My family and I didn't really want real real food but more of snack foods, so we came here. The place is small and cute! Kind of reminded me of being in Vietnam with the small chairs and table. Staff is super sweet. We ordered the banh trang tron with and the corn. The food was full of flavor and delicious!! It really hits the spot. The banh trang tron was simple, but full of umami, a hint of citrus, tangy, salty, and refreshing with the quail eggs and mint. My mom loved their corn and kept eating it. She loves how it's sweet and salty. Overall, wonderful place with great food!

*** Review on food only *** An Vat OC is one of more unique milk tea spots that specializes in truly authentic Vietnamese street food. You won't find many other places in Southern California that sell the unique street food they serve here. We are talking about some next-level and nostalgic Vietnamese street food here. [Parking]: Has a private plaza parking lot with plenty of available spots - no issues with parking. [Atmosphere]: Cute decor with tiny tables and benches that's similar to street setups in Vietnam. There's one unisex restroom inside. [Menu]: The menu can feel a bit overwhelming if customers are not familiar with Vietnamese street food. The top highlights include their bánh tráng (rice paper) dishes. All of their 10 special rice paper dishes come with peanuts, mango, quail eggs, and Vietnamese cilantro. The most popular item is #9 Bánh Tráng Trộn (rice paper "salad" with beef sauce, beef & squid) and the second popular item is #2 Bánh Tráng Cuốn Bò (butter rice paper rolls with fried onion and beef). Other Yelp highlights include Trứng Cút Rim Me/Sa Tế (quail eggs with tamarind or sate sauce) and Sâm Dứa Sữa (pandan milk drink). *** #2 Banh Trang Cuon Bo (butter rice paper roll, fried onion, and beef - $7.99): Honestly I have never had rice paper rolls quite like this before. It came with a side of tamarind dipping sauce. The rice paper was a little tough to chew. The sauce may not be everyone's cup of tea. It also included quail eggs. Unique and interesting, but certainly not my favorite item. #9 Banh Trang Tron (aka rice paper 'salad' - traditional rice paper with beef sauce, beef & squid - $7.99): I ordered takeout and it came in a bag, so I had to assemble and mix it myself at home. This item is ready-to-eat for dine-in customers. Flavorwise it was solid with chewy rice paper (almost like eating dried shredded squid). While it tasted savory, it was also a bit greasy. It was not your typical salad by any means and definitely more of a snack than a main entree dish. Worth give it a try. *** This is a great spot for anyone who wants to try different Vietnamese street food that's a bit outside the usual comfort zone. Please note that this is not a place for a real sit-down meal. Personally, the snacks were hit-or-miss and I am not sure if I would go out of my way to revisit.

We ordered a good amount of food: Chilean seabass hotpot, mango escargot salad, razor clams, snails in tamarind sauce, snails in coconut (Ốc len xào dừa), chicken wings, and soda chanh dây. Most of the food was really good. The favorites were the mango escargot salad, the razor clams, and the snails in tamarind sauce. All of those dishes were amazing and I recommend. Of those, the snails in tamarind were my favorite, as the tamarind sauce was amazing and paired nicely with the snails. The soda chanh dây (passionfruit soda) was amazing as well, and I recommend getting a jug (or two) if you have a big party. The Chilean seabass hotpot was just alright. The fish was great, however, the broth was a little too sweet for mine and my party's taste. Also, the snails in coconut were alright, as I've had better from other places. Service was great overall and food came out quickly and the staff was attentive. Parking was pretty easy, as it is located in a plaza with a big parking lot. Overall, probably my go to spot for snails when I am craving them. The wait time can get long, so recommend going before 6:30 if going for dinner.

The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls.
