Truly organic nail salon! They carry vegan nail line Zoya whom I truly adore. I like being nail salon's first client. I just feel like everything is fresh. The place itself is gorgeous. The chairs and pillows are very bohemian style and I absolutely loved it! So services are waterless, you don't soak your feet or hands in a basin or bowl. I am used to the soak but the hot towels made up for that. My manicure was done by Sonny. She was very gentle and shaped my nails in their natural growth direction. The hot towel wrapped around my hands helped with my cuticles. I received a shine and buff and she let me keep the little buffer to maintain the shine. Thank you Sonny! Now on to the pedicure done by Maria. Both technicians use these amazing smelling oils for Manis and Pedis. Maria was very thorough and gentle filing and massaging during the pedicure. She did a wonderful job polishing my toes, no smears. The owner arrived shortly and offered me some honey lemon ginger tea in which I happily obliged. One of the main reasons I chose Can Can Nail Salon was because of their use of organic products, which was a big plus for me. The salon had a pleasant ambiance and the staff was friendly. However, my excitement quickly faded the very next day when I noticed that my nails didn't look as good as they did when I left the salon. In fact, they looked like there was chronic dirt under them. I contacted Can Can Nail Salon to address the issue, but unfortunately, they were unable to offer a satisfactory solution. They insisted that I come back to the salon, which was impossible for me as I was traveling. No other alternatives were offered, and I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. As a customer, I believe that a salon should take responsibility for their services and offer appropriate solutions when issues arise. In this case, I found the lack of options and flexibility in addressing the problem to be disappointing. Despite their claim of using organic products, I was disappointed with the outcome of my nails and the lack of satisfactory customer service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Can Can Nail Salon based on my experience. I hope that they take customer feedback seriously and make improvements to their service in the future. read more

The ladies that work here are very lovely and the ambiance is cute. They also have a great assortment of polish colors and options. Otherwise, that's about the only positive aspects for me. I made an appointment for 5pm for an 1hr 30min- 1hr 45min treatment. Needed to be out by 7p. Major pet peeve of mine is to have an appointment accepted and then having to wait for close to 30 mins after my appointment start time to actually start the service. Ultimately had to cut my service short, which I was so disappointed about. I really wanted to enjoy the benefits of the full service I booked time for. For clarity - in a two hour period they were able to do the following: remove my gel polish, cut my nails, cut cuticles, scrub callus and foot, paint nails. No reason this should have taken 2 hours. If I did the full service it probably would have been 2.5-2.45. I also had to remind my technician to cut the nails on one of my feet. She did so on one but not the other. I really shouldn't have to pay attention to this type of thing as I'm trying to relax. I really didn't like the fact they don't use water. They only use a single hot towel per foot. I really don't like hot towels left on my feet for about 30-45 mins as they turn incredibly cold. Once it's removed she continued to use the same wet cold towels on my feet for "rinsing." It was incredibly unpleasant. Parking is also an issue if you go here during the week between 4-7p as the parking outside on La Brea is a no stopping zone between those hours. Overall, I so needed some R&R and felt this pedicure and experience actually worsened my mood. Will sadly have to get another pedicure in 2 weeks or so as she also wasn't able to address my ingrown's. I won't be returning, which I'm sad to say! Really wanted to like this place. read more

Mail Rescue! Barbie rescued my natural nails from being completely lost. I went to a nail salon to try dip powder for the first time, I had been told that it would be better than acrylic. The nail salon claimed to have put dip powder to protect my natural nails- they actually used MMA. Barbie was able to not only save my natural nails but she did it so quickly. The ladies here saved the day!! Some context - I got my first gel manicure in years at another spot in Hollywood. It was a crowded, chaotic space but I didn't think twice of the experience until a week later when my gel started peeling off. That was 2 days ago. I'm pretty nail-ignorant, so I didn't know what to do and did the worst possible thing which is pick at them. I wish the folks at the previous salon warned me about the dangers of this. Last night I decided to call Can Can Pearleur because of all its great reviews but also its use of organic products. I explained my situation - that I had picked off some gel leaving really uneven natural nails but left others alone - and they invited me in the next morning. I walked in and instantly loved how quiet and cozy the space was. They take COVID protocols really seriously, only allowing a few clients at a time. I appreciated the precaution and also the intimacy. Maria was so lovely, easy and fun to talk to, and did an amazing job taking off the VERY poorly applied gel manicure from the last place. It took extra time and work but she buffed my nails back to their proper shape and glory. I was looking to do a basic solid color, and after Connie started painting it on she asked if it might look too sheer for me, and we decided on a whim to try some nail art. I've never done that before, and was a little shy to ask, but everyone on staff was so open and helpful that I thought what the hell? Connie was open, collaborative, even looking up ideas on her phone. We settled on a pretty design and she executed perfectly, meticulously and creatively. I'll definitely be back and will bring my friends! I especially love that this place uses medical grade formulas for their nail products, which means their salon is accessible for vulnerable people who need to keep an extra eye on their health. In this time of worry about healthcare, Can Can stands out as a gem. The most sanitary nail salon I've ever been to, coronavirus or not. No foot baths so no risk of infection, all chairs are distant from each other, the staff and premises are super clean, and I've never felt worried here. More importantly, they are excellent with nails and make me feel right at home. I'm treated like family, they are so skilled at what they do, and it's all top quality. I personally have trouble choosing nail colors, designs, etc and they are always happy to lend a professional opinion. My nails have never been stronger! This is the second time they tried to switch the nail tech conveniently. I worked around my schedule to make an appointment with Ima because she only works one day a week. When I scheduled an appointment with Ima the last time, the owner informed me that she had called in sick last minute so I had to have my nails done by another lady. I just let it go and decided to make another appointment with Ima again. A worker at the salon told me the exact same thing that the owner said Ima called in sick last minute. What a strange coincidence. The salon employee informed me that Ima had another appointment at 5pm the same day and mine was 11am. I guess they just switch their nail techs conveniently when there aren't enough appointments. Connie, I want to make sure that you don't charge me $30 because this is your second time changing nail techs without informing me. I called to make an appointment, and after speaking with the owner about the non toxic options they offer, I made an appointment for the same day. When I got to the salon, I was so taken aback with the decor! It is soooo cute in there, a very french vibe with details in every corner. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, asking if I wanted water, a warm neck roll, and bringing a pillow for back support. I spoke with the owner a bit more once I was there about my options and she explained to me what Bio Sculpture was. Apparently it's a non toxic gel that is medical grade, meaning that it is safe enough for people with serious medical conditions. Long story short, the nail tech used the electric filer and filed off the top of my ACTUAL nail bed thinking it was dip powder, which was painful. Not only did she not apologize for doing so, she yelled at me, "you didn't tell me that was your actual nail!" ???? Then they charged me $115. 1. I said multiple times "ow, that is my nail." 2. Aren't you supposed to be the nail expert here? I sat down and told my nail tech that my previous manicure was dip powder and her eyes got wide. Then she started using the electric filer to file down my nails. I was texting when I jumped because I felt pain. I said "that's my nail." She kept saying no I have to file down the powder. This happened a total of 3 times before I showed her a nail in my other hand that had cracked and said, "look the dip is all pink, the white is my actual nail." She responded, "Oh! Why didn't you tell me." Then proceeded to tell a woman who I am presuming was her boss that she filed into my actual nail, but that I didn't tell her. Which is untrue. She never apologized which is wild and then they charged me full price. They fucked up my nails, made it seem like it was MY FAULT and then charged me $115. The one star is for the angel of a nail tech who took over and finished my nails who did an amazing job. The place is cool to look at, but actual don't go here there are places who will give you better results with MUCH better customer service. If you do go, ask for Alegra and no one else. read more

I love that the salon is vegan and very eco friendly - you can tell they really try to minimize plastic etc. It seems like they have a family vibe with a lot of their clients, and its definitely worth paying a bit more for a pleasant, environmentally friendly experience where the employees are treated well!
