Super disappointing experience at Birdies. Was really looking forward to trying this place as it's new to the neighborhood, super cute, and has lots of tables and parking. I will preface by saying that we went at 5 o'clock on a Friday, and expected it to be busy. The wait was one hour to sit on the patio and we were able to get seated immediately inside. It was one of the most chaotic dinners I have been to in my life. Even though we were seated inside, we were adjacent to a patio, and there were children running, absolutely everywhere. We are not at all opposed to children, have a newborn of our own, but this was absolutely wild and so in unenjoyable. It was so loud, my husband and I could not have a single conversation. Overall, the food was pretty bland. The best thing that we had was the deviled eggs and mac & cheese. My fried chicken sandwich was nothing to write home about. Thankfully, the waiter that we had was very nice and served us quickly, so we could get in and out. We went to birdies and it was freezing. We chose to sit outside because the inside had too long of a wait. The waiter was very nice and moved multiple heaters closer to us but we were still very cold. Our waiter was nice and recommended food for us that turned out to be incredible! All of the entrees were very tasty and one of our friends is a vegetarian and they were able to accommodate her! I only give it four stars because it was so cold outside. The hostess started to seat us in a sunnier location but asked to be seated in the shade. No problem we were moved. Once our party arrived we ordered food: wings, birriria sliders, Asian chicken salad, queso & chips, kid's pizza, steak & eggs, and loaded fries. It all looked good. I personally ate the loaded fries (YUM) and the Asian chicken salad. The salad was small for the serving. It was just ok. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The steak and eggs looked particularly delicious. The environment here is great. We says outside in the shade. There are multiple umbrellas everywhere as well as a patio cover. TV's are viewable from about any direction. It's great to watch a game. Outside is dog & kid friendly. There's plenty of space for the kiddos to stretch their legs. Birdies has become a staple for me and my boyfriend over the last year. Always has amazingly quick and friendly service, great ambiance with lots of seating options (indoor tables/booths/ bar seats, and outdoor bar, tables, casual heated seating), and yummy food! Their menu is not enormous which has its pros and cons but I will say that we have not been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Our favorites are the brisket tacos, shrimp and grits, spinach and artichoke dip, and the birria sliders. Their drink selection is great as well and we love their margaritas! It features a huge dining space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, covered patio, full service bar, and several TVs. Admittedly, when my family originally went after it first opened, we felt disappointed with the atmosphere and service. More specifically, other patrons and their inability to watch their own children ruined our first experience. A preteen age child running around the restaurant knocked into our table. We heard lots of screaming, etc. It felt like eating at a playground and not a nice new restaurant. One parent even brought a football to throw around on the patio. We felt bad for the staff because they needed to act like babysitters rather than servers. After a few months, we gave Birdie's Eastside a second chance and we feel glad that we did! It appears they mostly got the unsupervised children situation under control. Plus, they created an adults only area. Overall, we enjoyed good food as well as attentive and friendly service the second time we went. I feel that Birdie's Eastside can be an excellent choice for brunch, dinner, happy hour, etc. with family and friends. Note: It gets popular on week nights and weekends. We have come to this restaurant three times hoping each time that it will get better because we love the other restaurants that the owner owns. Today we went in, and the waiter told us that it was happy hour, and that these were the specific items on the happy hour menu yet when the bill came, it was not given the discount. First of all, I will begin with the fact that I am an empty nester. To anyone wanting to eat out with kids aged tween and younger, including the stroller army, this restaurant is your wet dream. It's loud, and tons of patio seating that features tower heaters sprinkled around "the lawn." You can see by the double-sided menu that Birdie's has high regard for their offerings and are more than happy to accommodate any request to a food item (e.g., Brussels sprouts in lieu of fries) , for an up charge. Mixed drinks are hit or miss - lots of mixer but less than the price warrants. There's a great sign at the entrance reading the riot act towards parents to keep their kids under control. Nice reach but not enforced because they're making too much money off their clientele. May be a different story after 10pm, but we won't be back to confirm. PS - Neighbors have to be pissed about evening traffic just to get to their homes! TIP: Get there for dinner before 4:30 or just step into the bar to the left'cause you ain't gettin' in for at least an hour! read more

He gave us ample time to decide and the drinks came back almost immediately! Almost too fast. The food was good and I'd rate it a solid 8.5/10.
