Tart, But Not Too Sweet - A Lovely Surprise from Birdie's Pie Shop I finally got around to trying my triple berry pie from Birdie's--two days after purchasing it, straight from the fridge and into the microwave--and to my surprise, it was still so good. I expected it to be overly sweet like most American pies, but it turned out to be beautifully tart and balanced, with just enough sweetness to complement the berries. The filling was packed with berry flavor and had a nice hint of lemon that made it bright and refreshing. The crust was also a win: buttery without being greasy, and held up well even after a couple of days. I personally would've loved it to be even more sour, but that's just me--I have a rare love for extreme tartness, so I won't dock a point for that. I actually think the flavor is very well-balanced for a general palate. The only downside is the price increase--it used to be around $5, but now it's closer to $7 for a small pie, which feels steep. Still, the quality is undeniable. I might just try baking pies myself at this point thanks to inflation, but if I'm craving a dependable, not-too-sweet dessert, I'd definitely consider coming back to Birdie's. Service was nice and ambience was decent even though the shop was very small.

Ambiance: 10/10 so cute inside. Great lighting. Such a cute space. Service: 8/10 they were super kind and friendly Food: 7/10 the key lime pie was delicious, the scratch made whip cream, with orange zest was tasty and beautiful. The best part was the graham cracker crust. Absolutely delicious. 1/4 thick was perfect and the texture was awesome. The filling was good and perfectly acidic. I purchased 5 personal sized pies: Raspberry Cream was FABULOUS! Chocolate was also great! Not too sweet. Strawberry Basil was really good but not enough filling in the small size. Trio Berry also had good flavor but again way too little filling and the crust was waaay too thick although very tasty. Key Lime didn't hold over to the next day very well. Flavor was just okay. The Strawberry Basil & Trio Berry would probably be much better in the full size version. Very friendly service too!

Still fantastic. I keep going back again and again. My favorite sweet pies are the eclair and chocolate caramel pecan (I love the flaky crust as a base), and my favorite savory is the roasted vegetable pot pie. Mama Bird is a true gem and her staff are very kind, too!

My family and I will typically come to this location for our sweet pastry pie needs. Generally, they're never lacking in business despite their unique business hours but manage to for the greater part of the time customer friendly. Usually, every time the taste and the flavor of the pies- here are spot-on! This time around the quad apple and dreamsicle pies were lacking in overall quality and flavor. Unfortunately, the inside of the freshly baked apple pie was raw and undercooked while the crust was overcooked. The dreamsicle tasted mostly cream cheese (maybe) and cinnamon. Not anything super exciting. The service itself was decent and the aesthetics of the building are super cute. I'd recommend as long as you can get them on a good pie day to jet over to grab some pies and set out in the backyard dining area.

Such a cute hidden gem in Post Falls! They also have another location in Hayden Lake. This location is small and doesn't offer much seating (a few bar height seats). I would say this is more of a pick-up/take out type of place. PARKING: Free in the lot it's located, however there's not many right in front (maybe 5ish spots max). There are more spots around the right corner! They offer 4 different sizes for their pies: ----Large: Huge pies that are not only your typical width, but are pretty high in height. ---Personal: Just bigger than a slice, more like a little bigger than a hockey puck. ------Quads: When you feel like sharing or can't pick just one personal pie flavor, they have a special to choose 4 personal sized pies. ---Bites: Sold only by the dozen. Literally a bite size taste of each pie. Great to sample a dozen flavors, but honestly they are too small for my own preference. (I need more than a couple of bites haha!) The staff was really helpful in terms of helping me navigate what to try. I also appreciate how they give out a card with reheat/storage instructions. Here's what I ended up getting: ---APPLE PIE ($4.95 for personal size): This was my favorite of the three I tried! It is full of locally sourced apples that are cut fresh, tossed in spices, and put into the crust within 24 hours. They don't come from bottled or canned apples, so the apples are not mushy or soft. Hands down would get this one again or a large size for gatherings! ---CHICKEN POT PIE ($6.75 for personal size): This savory favorite has chicken, potatoes, carrots, peas and leeks. This was good and tasted as I expected to. ---KEY LIME PIE ($4.95 for personal size): This is made with a gluten free, buttery vanilla cookie crust with our signature key lime filling. This was good, but it's tough to beat my all time favorite from Joe's Stone Crab. Next time, I'm going to try the Triple Berry! Can't wait!

Local gem alert! All six of us were wowed by the pies here. On the regular, they have one savory: chicken pot pie and four sweet: apple, chocolate cream, and key lime. Daily, they have one additional savory and two sweet. Quads are available for those who would like maximize their tasting experience. The quad price of $19.50 is for the sweet, but for a slight up-charge you can swap some savory ones in (savory are bigger). I was going to mix up the quad for just the two of us and then the bf said he wanted six total! Can you tell he likes pie? Anyway, great decision since we got to try the taco pie and chicken pot pie. Both has a fantastic flaky crust and were loaded with meat and veggies. Dessert pies were awesome too. Loved the raspberry lemon. If you like Reese's, get the peanut butter chocolate! The triple berry was very berry and wasn't seedy like some berry pies can be. The key lime was good too, but wasn't anything extraordinary like the others. The girls were very hospitable here! They also have a cute patio area in the back where we enjoyed our pies.

I was not a big pie person but now I am hooked on these pies! My favorites are the apple, German Chocolate and pumpkin pies. I don't know how they do it but the crust of the pie is always perfect. The staff are so helpful and friendly another reason I love supporting this family owned pie shop. Just try it once and you too will be hooked on these pies. 10/10 would recommend. The pie flavors are very unique but also include both sweet and savory so you can get dinner and dessert all in one stop. Go on Wednesday for $10 sweet and savory combo! All amazing pies. When visiting my mom who lives in Spokane we try to come out here to pick up some pies. You can't go wrong with any flavor. Take a chance and get a pie, you won't regret it. I have never been much of a pie person. I won't scoff at it or refuse if I get a piece put in front of me, but I am a cake gal. That being said, when hubby gave me an eye full of pie at Birdie's I could not resist. We got some mini pies-chocolate, peanut butter, pumpkin, key lime, and triple berry. Holy pie! These were so freakin' good! The pumpkin was both of our favorites. This is coming from 2 people who aren't pie fans so can you imagine if you love pie all the goodness you are missing out on?? Pie oh pie My oh my?! Been following along on Instagram since before the brick and mortar. So excited to finally see and step into this warm sweet shop. We were met with friendly greetings and attentive service. The ambiance is fun. Nice set up with the pie and Merch area and a connected pie and paint secondary area of the building. I had my adult daughter and granddaughter along. She was fawned over and treated to a chocolate cream pie bite which was a lifesaver for the rest of our car ride. Tiny bites all the way home! Each flavor of pie, all my questions about dairy free, and different size choices and combinations were explained. We chose a full size triple berry, which happens to be dairy free. This is no ordinary sized or flavor of pie. You can tell before one bite that much care was taken in this tasteful creation. M-M-M Good! I was able to cut the pie into 10 generous slices. What an amazing small business. I do hold them accountable though for the added waistline over the past six months.... We stop and get them on random occasions, on the way to the boat or to give as gifts to friends. These pies are so amazing, sooooo good. Plus knowing you're supporting a small business, those added pounds are worth it. You won't regret stopping here. read more

ADV Rider. :{) Wow, now Post Falls has officially been placed on the countries PIE map! Birdies is the place to go for fresh home made style pies. I visited there shortly after they opened and again yesterday. My first try was an assortment of three of their personal sized pies. Wow, too bad I shared them with friends as they were so delicious. This trip I enjoyed one of their Chicken Pot pies for lunch and I special ordered a large "Black Berry" pie. All I have to say is WoW! I made the trek from Spokane to Post Falls just to try this pie shop and I am so glad I did!! I got 4 personal size pies and every single one was delicious! My favorite, by far, was the key lime pie with a sprinkle of coconut in the crust. Yum! They were making the pies right there in the open air kitchen. Very cute shop. They even host nights out/classes on site where you can make one of those wooden signs with a stenciled saying on it. Can't wait to try their seasonal pies too! Birdies is very specialized in that they sell, as the name would suggest, pies. They are very expensive pies and they are super good pies. If they weren't close to $30 for a pie we would probably be in there on a very regular basis, but the costs prohibit this from being anything more than a special occasion place for us. That's probably a good thing, as I think I could eat two of their pies every week! read more

There was extra small slices of potatoes, a ton of peas and very little chicken. We actually threw away the remaining pieces. Very expensive and actually tasteless. Not at all what we thought it would be. read more

First let me start by saying that I REALLY really want this place to be successful. We need a good dessert place around here, the people working seemed nice enough, and the inside is cute, clean, and inviting. Now, it is my understanding that they had sold out on pies and had to bring their baker back in... so maybe that's why our pies weren't wonderful? We tried a pecan?? It had a top crust, chocolate, and whip topping. The crust is GOOD, the balance of pecan and chocolate was off, it was too rich in chocolate. Whip cream is good!! And should be offered with each pie. The other pie we had is where there were more issues, it was a mixed berry and it was under baked by about 4-5 minutes, the center was not set, and the balance of berries was very tart, and then something strange... huge shreds of orange peel??? I scraped the filling out and tossed it, smeared some sour cream on and sprinkled some sugar over the crust and ate that. Please, please switch to using a micro plane zester, the huge chunks was not pleasant and it was a bit bitter. We will wait another month for them to get the swing of things and hopefully they read reviews... and then we will retry them! Will update review when we do. read more

They are located in the same shopping center as Super 1 and Ace Hardware. I like their coffee bakery shop is to the left of the parking lot and has ample spaces to park. The shop itself is very big and spacious. It includes lots of room for seating for different party sizes. The selection of pastries, breads and drinks make this an excellent place to visit. The prices are also very reasonable. I did also take the beginner sourdough class and had a great time. It was a small group and the instructor (owner) really took the time to answer questions, discuss methods and helped us perfect the techniques. Class took us through every step of the process and we got to go home with a starter and a loaf we cut. Since then I have made my own loaf using what I learned and it came out perfect. This is one of the best hands on classes in the area.
