Wings that obviously are cooked and then delivered are subjective because anyone that knows wings you have to eat them pretty much piping hot right from the fryer. Anyways the reason why I gave this 5 stars is the birds nest sauce. This is a unique taste in Buffalo sauce with a smoky and spicy kick. These wings are on the pricey side, but I think this is driven by the current economic situation. If you are in the area and love wings give this place a try. read more

A lot of wood paneling, A LOT of TV's, so viewing can be had from any location and any angle, a somewhat clean and level pool table, and an easy and relaxed vibe. On to food. Wings Advertised as "the best in Chicago", we had to sample. So 20 wings, 10 Signature hot and 10 Teriyaki. The best in Chicago? To we Funksters if these are the best in The Windy City, then Funkster logic dictates chicago has some mighty crappy wings. I mean they were good, but if these were the best in a city of 2.7 million people, and by extrapolation 10 million wing joints, then give me Buffalo! We added a very fine spinach salad to the mix of wings that was likely the highlight of the meal. At $12 maybe a bit overpriced but still delicious and enough for three of us to share! The food is 5 stars. The reason I give two stars is the service and payment process is a nightmare. When the check came, they had five full tables, and refused to split it. It was a football viewing party, and they put it under one ticket, and it was a complete nightmare. The worst part is that their system is so easy - handwritten checks and they could split the check incredibly easy. They refused. Food is great, but the business is run like it's only 1995. I came here on a Tuesday night around 8pm and it was a calm night with some pool players, basketball fans and us. I've driven past this place through the week and usually there are drunk people outside on the weekends but came because i heard the wings are good. The bar is very dark and reminiscent of a college bar which is not surprisingly since it's not too far from DePaul. We sat at the bar and ordered chili cheese nachos, mozzarella sticks and 20 wings. The food that we ordered was classic bar food and was good. I don't think the wings are the best I've tasted but they were decent size, juicy and the sauces were good. I recently moved to Chicago and I've been on the lookout for the best wings. I heard this place has some of the best so I decided to check it out. I ordered 10 of the hot sauce wings and fries with cheese sauce. The wings are well made. I love a good crispy wing that isn't battered. The downfall was the sauce. They don't really have a "buffalo" option, which was what I was looking for. The options are a hot sauce, three kinds of BBQ and two kids of teriyaki. I was hoping the hot sauce was like a buffalo flavor but it wasn't. It's almost like the wings are tossed in Valentina. My husband had the teriyaki and he wasn't a fan of his sauce either but we both agreed the crispiness was good. The French fries were simple and we liked them, they were $4 and big enough for the both of us. However, the cheese sauce was $6. WHAT?! Six doll-hairs?! More than the French fries?! Craziness. But I got it because I thought maybe it was a magical cheese sauce and I'd been craving cheese fries. It was a big regret. They have some mean buffalo sauce, the wings are great, and the curly fries were amazing and crispy. Great wings. We really enjoyed the buffalo and honey BBQ sauce. Garlic fries and onion rings is a must try. We also had the chicken club, the Don, and the drunken buffalo sandwich. There was a man who was delivering food orders from the kitchen, but he also ignored us. After a total of 25 minutes of being ignored we simply got up and left. The entire staff didn't even bother saying "Good night!" or "Good bye!". What is going on over there!? I want to give you my money!! Why will no one happily take my money!? Bird's Nest was the best bar food I've had so far in Chicago. We got a full Thanksgiving meal of food. Here we go... Absolutely delicious cheesy bread with marinara, BBQ pulled pork nachos with all the ingredients on the side (in case anyone is picky), and mozzarella sticks. We each got an entree as well! I got the Italian Beef sandwhich with curly fries and it definitely hit the spot. Great for leftovers too. They sat us immediately even though the bar was jam packed. For example many places just toss their wings in Franks Hot Sauce and out they go, which is not a bad thing. However since I am always looking for something different and unique these wings transported my taste buds into a happy world of deliciousness not experienced eating wings before. I must now proclaim Bird' Nest as having the best wings in Chicago. Yes I said it. Quite Incredible! The service was very good as I did not experience any of the service snaffus that are mentioned in the reviews. I'm an avid wing eater and have not had a homemade wing sauce that even competes with what Bird's Nest is putting out. The sauce has the perfect mix of heat and the traditional wing sauce taste that you long for when ordering traditional wings with buffalo sauce. The biggest downside to the restaurant is that the wait staff can be completely incompetent depending upon who your server is. This is the only reason that I simply cannot give 5/5. You would think that since we are dropping a ton of money of liquor and food, you would at least tone down your attitude. She got mad at us for ordering the food in 3 different waves. She got mad at us for ordering our drinks at different times. At one point, she started to ignore us. Something that is undeniable is the quality of their food. The wings are award winning, for real. They have bbq, buffalo, and hot. All three are highly recommended. Tip: Get the garlic fries. GET THE GARLIC FRIES. Get it...it tastes amazing. The bar itself is cool. They have a full bar, tvs in the little nooks and adoring the walls for all sporting events. They have a bar pool table, darts, and golden tee. What is different about their bar is that there are actually 2 different bars for the extra packed events. We usually come here after work parties, long stressful days at work, when vendors want to take us out, and Thursday wing nights. If I could give zero stars I would. I went to birds nest last night to watch March madness. We were having a wonderful time until a group of young men came up to my friend and called her the N word repeatedly. Instead of kicking that group out after we explained the situation to the buser, the server and the manager, WE were kicked out because we were a smaller party, spending less money however my tab was 300 dollars. When we left, they left and got into the car, and called my friend the N word again and again repeatedly while she was crying and the staff did nothing while I alerted them that we felt unsafe. It wasn't until an Uber driver pulled up that we were ok. I've been a loyal customer of birds nest for 10 years and I'm truly disgusted by this experience... which by the way is a hate crime and I could have and should have called the cops.
