I haven't been to Birdys in a few years, but I saw they were doing a $5 early bird breakfast special. There are 4 things to choose from and we got 3 of them. I was pleasantly surprised by the portions once everything came out. The eggs were very fluffy (you can only get them scrambled). The avocado toast had good integrity and wasn't messy to eat. We dined on a Wednesday morning so the service was prompt and the restaurant space is very well decorated and organized. The patio is also well covered so might not be too bad to sit there even in the summer.

The atmosphere here is amazing! We came for the breakfast board and were not disappointed. We sat outside in the middle of June, and it was hot but they have tons of fans and our waters were always full. Our server was great, and super helpful when guiding us through the menu.

Made my way back ... again lol. Can't get over how cute this place is, but the food and service is also a plus. Menu items were nearly the same as last time, so I opted for an avocado toast this go-round. We also ordered a matcha latte and a breakfast plate. The avocado toast description was a little deceptive but it was still pretty decent. Everything else was A1. See y'all soon!

Don't miss this place for breakfast! A cute sit-down restaurant that has a homey vibe. Options to sit inside or outside (covered patio). Server was friendly and prompt. Iced latte was good. Classic breakfast of eggs, bacon and biscuit was well prepared. However, the rib eye on a homemade bagel should not be missed! Was a 10 minute walk from our hotel in the warehouse district. Consider reservations for peak times.

I come here fairly often because they change the menu seasonally. Today we got 3 items we've never had before and they were great! We particularly loved the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the butchers hash

Flew into Birdy's for a quick lunch. I was delighted they still had some brunch items on the menu and my wonderful server gave me the scoop. I liked the upbeat yet casual vibe with the Nola charm . Then there was the food: I opted for the traditional eggs Benedict while my colleague chose the Salmon . Both were stellar and I will certainly be back to try more of the delicious eats !! This Birdy actually hit an Eagle !!

We went to Birdie's behind the Bower looking to have a good time--and let me tell you, a good time was had! We were lucky enough to sit in the iconic pink booth with the Birdie sign, which is always a bonus. Our server, Noah, was an absolute blast and added so much fun to our experience--shoutout to you, Noah! Everything we ordered was amazing--from the breakfast board to the Benedicts and avocado toast, every bite was spot-on. The glass they use for the bottomless mimosas is huge, which means they don't have to refill as often (unlike the usual tiny champagne flutes most places use). We also tried a few other drinks like the Bellini and, of course, the espresso martini--and if you've read my previous reviews, you know the espresso martinis kept flowing as they were perfection! If you're looking for a fun, flavorful brunch spot to enjoy with friends, Birdie's behind the Bower is definitely the place. Great food, great vibes, and even better company.

We had reservations. I love the decor and neon sign. We were greeted by the host and seated right away. It took a bit for our server to come. We decided to get an appetizer. I'm a sucker for any board or tower. We ordered the brunch board to split. It was an experience! The waffles were my favorite, but I absolutely loved everything on there. We also split the cochon de lait. I love a good spicy dish, but for brunch/breakfast, I thought it was too spicy. To each their own! The staff were friendly and helpful.

This place gets it right! It's cute and the service is quick. Though the menu isn't large, it's seems sufficient for a breakfast stop. I've been a few times for brunch and am pleased each time. The huevos rancheros and Birdy's burger were absolutely delicious.

Amazing service and yummy food! Our server was on top of things and checked on us frequently. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. I had the fried chicken biscuit with gravy and my friend had the Elvis French toast. I don't like the "split check" policy but will be prepared the next time we visit by bringing cash. (They will only split the check evenly and only one credit card.) There is outside and inside seating. No stairs to enter the restaurant. I would definitely come back to try out another item off of the huge brunch menu. (Or get the same again!)

Cute brunch spot for the gals! ‍‍‍ Love the indoor and outdoor seating option! There's fans outside so you don't have to worry about the summer heat. The wait was about 10 mins for our iced matcha latte (6/10) but the food was pretty good! My traditional breakfast (8/10) had some apple hickory bacon, eggs, roasted potatoes (the BEST part hands down), toast and some jam to put on top. Their chicken and biscuits were great too! (7.5/10)

Alright food. Wasn't the worse food I've ever had but some entrees weren't what we were expecting. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

There are three options, but we stuck with their original. Want to sample all three then order their flight of Pimm's. The muffuletta is served warm and can be ordered whole, half, or quarter. This is a classic sandwich stuffed with all your favorite cold cuts, provolone cheese, and of course their homemade Italian olive salad. Do not sleep on their hot pastrami sandwich served with creole mustard. Of course, their gumbo and red beans and rice is to die for. I am trying to stay hydrated while on vacation. I wanted to sample multiple items from the menu. I requested sausage, some rice and beans, and half of a mufaleta sandwich. My wife requested a chicken sandwich and potato salad. I hesitated as I was ordering and the server walked away while I was ordering. When he returned, he was surprised to learn that I wanted to order more food. Then he told another worker that I put my appetizer in late, so all the food came out at once. That was fine with me, but the tables were small, so not a lot of room. The sausage was tasty, but didn't hold itself together well. The red beans and rice were very tasty. I'd get those again. My first mufaleta sandwich was very tasty. Half of a sandwich is a big serving. I really enjoyed it and it makes me want to try more of them. My wife really liked her chicken sammich and potato salad. Overall, very good meal and friendly service. Good stuff!

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

Saint Claire is a truly unique restaurant located at 1300 Richland Road in Algiers. It is…read moreimpossible to appreciate the restaurant fully without mentioning the property itself, which is arguably the older and more remarkable part of the story. The historic building sits on nearly four acres beneath a magnificent grove of live oaks. The property was originally associated with a quarantine station serving ships and crews traveling upriver toward New Orleans, and the building that now houses the restaurant was reportedly the residence of physicians connected with that facility. During World War II, the site became Camp Algiers, an internment facility. The property subsequently served various federal purposes, including use by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security, before eventually falling into disrepair and later undergoing renovation. Today, Saint Claire occupies what is believed to be the last surviving medical-officer residence of the former New Orleans quarantine station--a property that subsequently became part of a controversial World War II internment camp and has now been given a remarkable new life as one of New Orleans' most distinctive dining destinations. The setting itself is lovely, and one of the restaurant's greatest practical advantages is the remarkably easy parking, something that should never be taken for granted in New Orleans. The ambiance is warm and inviting, while the service is prompt and polished. The servers are knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly familiar with the food and its preparation. The cuisine can best be described as French country cooking with a distinctly Louisiana twist. The menu manages to combine French technique and elegance with the flavors and ingredients of South Louisiana. The duck-andouille gumbo, for example, is a particularly imaginative interpretation, made with a chocolate roux that adds an intriguing depth and complexity. The jumbo lump crab gnocchi is considerably more delicate, served with lemon butter and fresh chives, allowing the sweetness of the crab to remain the star of the dish. I am genuinely rooting for Saint Claire's success, which I judge by what I call the Triple A's of a successful restaurant: Availability, Affability, and Ability--in that order. Saint Claire unquestionably scores high on the latter two. The staff is affable and knowledgeable, and the kitchen clearly has considerable ability. My concern, however, is availability. Making a reservation can feel remarkably similar to doing business with a health insurance company. The restaurant does not answer its telephone calls, although it will apparently return a call the following day. Reservations can be made through the website, but there is an additional wrinkle: the system defaults to a reservation on the patio rather than in the main dining room. For a restaurant of this caliber, the reservation process should be as seamless and welcoming as the dining experience itself. Saint Claire has many of the ingredients necessary to become a destination restaurant. The property is extraordinary, the setting is beautiful, the service is personable and capable, and the cuisine has both character and ambition. If the restaurant can improve its availability--making it easier for guests to reach the restaurant and, more importantly, to secure a table in the main dining room--it may well have the three A's in perfect order.
