If you're unfamiliar with Indian food, this is a good place to start because of the variety of entrées and food quality. However, you'll have to Google absolutely every item on the buffet because nothing is described and the scribbled item names tell little about what are in the pans. Curry is a principle spice mixture in Indian foods but can be mild or spicy hot. None of the foods were noted as to which were mild and which were hot. Getting a mouthful of hot curry could be not only be an unpleasant surprise, but also a painful experience for some diners. This is a buffet; we were not offered menus for item ordering. I decided to visit Biryani Boyz for a lunch break after hearing about it from others in Ofallon, upon entering staff pointed to the bar area without greeting, I was then seated after a moment at the bar, after sitting down I was not given a menu and had to grab one from the bar top, after looking over the menu it took 10 minutes to flag down someone to order. I ordered Chicken Tikka Kebab, Lamb Saag, Chicken Vindaloo, Roti, Cheese Naan, and buffet service, the buffet had a selection of chutney rice, naan, dosa, curry, biryani, palak, and makhani, mostly chicken for protein with an option with paneer and an option with lamb. The buffet came with complimentary masala chai and lemonade. Most of the buffet options were middling and blandly seasoned at best, except for the the establishments namesake, the biryani, which was well seasoned and flavorful, the chutney selection was average, to note a few of the chutney's were watered down, especially the Tamarind, the peanut chutney was their highlight. None of the buffet dishes were packing any spice heat, however they did have a red chili paste alongside the chutneys. The masala chai was solid and not too sweet, to note they had sweeteners on the side for those who have a sweet tooth, the lemonade on the other hand, was way too sweet for my taste, so I stuck to the masala chai. The chicken tikka kebab came out piping hot and smelled great, however upon trying the dish the seasoning was a bit underwhelming, the roti and cheese naan were perfectly cooked, not to crispy and not to doughy, the lamb saag was rich and creamy, well seasoned, and the lamb fell apart in the mouth, the vindaloo had barely any spicy heat, which I had asked for them to make it as spicy as possible, it just didn't have that good kick, there was very little chicken, and even less potatoes, at first I wasn't sure if they had added the potatoes. Overall most of the food was mediocre and lacked spice and heat, the service was sub par(except for the chef; he was a pleasant and friendly fellow), and to note while there, it was extremely hot and I was dripping sweat from the moment I walked in, I'm not sure if the AC broke, but it was cooler outside, and the temperature outside at the time was 81f, the thermalizers for the buffet didn't help as it was likely contributing to humidity in the air. I'd personally say stick to the menu and pass on the buffet and make sure you don't have anything time sensitive to worry about. read more

Followup, decided to give it another try and had take out. Whole family got sick, like bad food poisoning level, have had that happen twice in my life, it was terrible. Honestly sad, love Indian food but will never go back or recommend. read more

This is a wonderful Indian restaurant. We had the lunch buffet and it was absolutely terrific. Everything tasted and looked great. The place is very pretty. We didn't have cocktails, but they have a great-looking bar. Will definitely be going back soon. read more

I appreciate expats who initiate restaurant/food businesses and make us feel home away from home. Nevertheless, it is crucial to maintain standards in food restaurants serve. We had a takeout last night - Tandoori chicken and Gongura Biryani. Gongura biryani was oily and there was some Gongura gravy and chicken pieces in a bed of ghee/oil rice. Coming to Tandoori, it definitely did not look or tasted like chicken from tandoor. And also meat was not fresh at all. Zero for this one. Being an Indian I understand that our food is complex for a restaurant setting and is not easy to replicate same taste every business day given that the chefs work on shift basis. But freshness of the meat served is nonnegotiable. read more

I stopped by this evening with a friend for dinner and it was fantastic! Everything on the buffet was excellent. It's a great way to try Indian food, especially if you're new to the cuisine. You can sample a little bit of everything to see what you like and what you don't. They will have their liquor license soon, and the bar is currently not operational. Every table had bottled water next to the settings, and you could also order a soda, which I believe is either bottled or canned. The buffet is only temporary in the evenings but will be available seven days a week for lunch. Right now, it's only $15.99, which I think is a very reasonable price. Absolutely phenomenal. I grew up in East Africa and I've struggled to find Indian Food that is authentic. This took me back to my childhood. Everything is well spiced and well balanced. I'll definitely be back. The staff were so nice and welcoming, even though I walked in 30 minutes to closing time. The space was okay. I'll be back to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Went to dinner here with my sister and her two boys (7 and 10). The food was so good the boys asked to talk to the Chef to tell him themselves. The youngest decided this was his favorite place to get butter chicken and will no longer go to the other place. The older one told the Chef how the flavors and spices were well balanced.
