    Cheese Naan
    Chad M.

The curry was thin and lacked flavor. The palak paneer was just straight up creamed spinach. Garlic Cheese naan was incredibly good and so was the garlic fried rice. Overall hard to say I would do it again but I probably would and hope I got a better curry dish.

    Chicken Tikka Masala Lunch Special

The lunch specials are back as of about a year ago, but I've only eaten here maybe 2-3 times in the last year. Decent size lunch for $13-$14. Not overly filling but it will hold you over until dinner time. It took about 10 min for my food to be ready and in the meantime, I just sat at a table a scrolled on my phone The lunch is pictured and is very tasty. Really can't mess up a staple of a dish that chicken tikki masala is, and they're spot on with the flavor. My only wish is that they put more than 3 cubes of chicken in the lunch. It almost looks like a plastic cup of soup, but there were 3 small cubes of chicken in there. I could have given this a 3 star but the naan was good and of regular size.

I've walked by this place many times and decided to give it a try. They offer a lunch special for $13.99. I had the lamb curry to go, which came with nann, rice and salad. The curry had a rich flavor with a nice kick of spice, and the lamb was cookeduntil tender and juicy. I enjoyed every bite! I will come back to trymore of their dishes.

Ordered through DoorDash, called to request it extra spicy, not as spicy as I like it, but pretty close to it. Naan was soft. Nice consistency with the curry not too oily. Rice is rice I would order again

We come here at least 1x /week for the lunch special. $13.99 The meats in the curries are always tender and the sauces are flavorful. Vegetarian curries have generous varieties of veggies. You can adjust the spice level to your taste buds. The naan! ... soft chewy and crunchy on the edges. Best of all - complementary chai tea! The owner and his staff are sweet and friendly. The restaurant and the restroom are immaculately clean!

The service was amazing. The young lady took our order and listened to any requests we had with patience. The ambience during tonight was very quiet since it wasn't super busy and the decor was quite basic. No music or television provided. The food was great and just as I remembered from long ago when I first had it. The garlic naan isn't super strong on the garlic which I appreciate and the tenderness of the naan is truly a representation of fresh made. The same goes for the cheese honey naan which was sweet, tender and stringy cheesy goodness. The tandoori chicken leg took the longest to cook; I think it took about half an hour or a bit more. Personally, I think it tasted great and I'm somewhere in the middle of if it was worth the wait for not. The chicken meat was tender, moist and nicely marinated. The vegetable samosa w/ garbanzo beans were delicious. Stuffed with a spiced potato, garbanzo and beans, it tasted great alone and with the sauce that came with the chick peas. The chicken makhami and chicken tikka were near identical in terms of taste (or maybe I'm just unseasoned). The chicken in the makhami was slightly different as it had a little more spice/kick to it. And yes, the spiciness of the sauce is adjustable (just ask nicely). Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I will definitely consider coming back and recommending others to try it.

My favorite biryanis restaurant in Oakland! Looks like a simple hole-in-the-wall but the food is freshly made to order and absolutely delicious! On this trip I asked for a lamb kheema biryani and they said they could do it. In other places, this would be the biryani rice with kheema curry layered in between. Here, the lamb kheema is actually fried together with the rice which is fantastic! The aroma and delightfulness in each spoonful was heavenly! This is my new favorite for when I get to visit this restaurant. My dinner was topped with a hot cup of chai. Totally satisfied!

When I approached the front counter, the lady present was very standoffish with me. I informed her of why I was there and she asked my name for the order. Upon giving her my name she then glared at me and literally asked me to recite my entire order lol! I showed her my online receipt in which she then insisted I still tell her my order. She brushed away my receipt and let another customer cut in front of me. Interestingly, the customer told her his name and she retrieved his order with no issue and was very friendly with him. To note, I was the only Black person present at that time. When I inquired as to why that customer wasn't asked to recite his entire order, she grinned and said that he's a "regular" and that I was "new." She went on to let a few other customers cut in front of me. I then asked for my money back in which she refused to return. Even when I asked for the manager, she said he was very busy. I made several requests for this resulting in her saying no and refusing to return my money. I then noted to her I'm calling the authorities in which I did. Furthermore, while servicing some of the other patrons, she would speak in another language with them while they looked at me and start laughing and staring me down. Eventually, the manager came out. He presented himself professionally and upon explaining what occurred he apologized and said it was unacceptable. He even offered me a drink with my meal and asked that I please accept the order instead and wanted to make things right. I took him at face value and said fine. While the situation was remedied, I definitely will not be returning to this restaurant. I researched some of the other reviews and came across several where other Black patrons have had similar racially motivated experiences here. That tells me there's a common practice of racism here. I refuse to support a business where this kind of behavior is tolerated. I have zero tolerance for bigots of any kind. Overall, the experience was a waste of my time and very dehumanizing. To hate someone you don't even know simply because of their skin pigmentation and ethnicity is irrational at best and bad for business especially in a place like Oakland where it's multicultural. My advice would be to not support this establishment. I especially advise any Black patrons not to come here as they clearly have issue with anyone who is simply Black, despite not knowing them as a person. Don't give your money, nor your valuable time, to hateful individuals who dehumanize others. All in all, this place gets a thumbs down.

The other thing I noticed is the add ons really raised the price. The guacamole, etc are all extra charges on the the super burrito which in my eye makes no sense. Either it's a super or regular. Not super needing to have a ton of add ons to make it a super. But how was the burrito? Overall I thought the taste was good. Burrito was on the small side. But the ingredients seemed to be solid, and blended together nicely. Decent quality but for the price and wait time, I won't be rushing back.

YUM. Ordered:…read moreShrimp taco, fish taco, chicken quesadilla, chips Highlights: honestly everything. The seasoning on both were great, the tortilla was a bit on the crunchy or thick side but I liked it bc it didn't get soggy while I was eating. Their salsas were all delish (the hot is spicy but also flavorful). Fish was a little crispy and tacos were pretty full. Notes: we came on a Monday at 7 but they ran at of tortas. Will be back to try though. Parking was pretty easy and there are two small tables under their awning. We were able to sit and eat while it was drizzling out.

If you're looking for authentic Pakistani & Indian food that tastes exactly like home, this place…read moreis an absolute MASHALLAH. This is not just a restauran - it is an experience filled with hospitality and the comforting feeling of being with family. Mr. Waqar & Mrs. Rabia are most humble people you will ever meet. From the moment you walk in, they welcome you with such sincerity and affection that you instantly feel at home. Mrs. Rabia has a remarkable way of making every guest feel special. She treats everyone with the same care & love a mother would show her own children. The food is outstanding, with generous portions and authentic flavors that transport you straight back to Pakistan/India. For breakfast lovers, the Halwa Puri with cholay is among the best I have had (available any time of the day, 7 days a week, is a huge bonus. The homemade parathas remind me of my mother's cooking, my absolute favorite & something I crave regularly. Chicken Biryani with Shami Kabab bring back memories of home with every bite. The Chapli Kabab paired with fresh paratha is simply irresistible-I can never get enough of it. The Beef Haleem is rich, authentic, & prepared exactly the way it should be. The Lamb Shank served with biryani rice is another exceptional dish that showcases the quality and authenticity of their cooking. Our first visit was only a month ago & since then we have already returned around 10 times. That alone speaks volumes. If you want delicious food, authentic flavors, generous portions, and hospitality that makes you feel like family, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

There was maybe one other customer when we reached and I guess that helped with getting the food quicker. I think , most of their curries / entrees are pre made . They also mentioned that they use frozen naans ( probably the ones sold at Indian stores ) but make the parathas fresh. Which was true. It came out piping hot and it's huge in size. We decided to get 2 different combos , so as to try more options. Got Paneer tikka masala, chana masala, palak paneer and daal makhani. The Daal makhani was not as creamy / buttery as it's supposed to be. All tasted decent , and on the milder side I would say. I feel all of them could have used a little more salt. It's reasonably priced . They also had back patio kind of area, which would be nice on a warm day.
