Nothing less than a single star. So here it is. The guy who takes the order is the front line of defense for both the Customer and his Kitchen. I ordered a takeout over the phone. Specifically requested the mildest of their mild spice for my 3 year old twin. The surprise when we went home, The kids were hungry so we fed them first. The kids nearly chocked. We fed them half a gallon yogurt that night and put them to bed. We love spicy food. As adults we couldn't handle it. For 2 days we only took yogurt and water. A coworker and I tried this place last week, as the name suggest, they sell Biryani here. We order the Chicken Biryani and Mutton Biryani. There are three styles, Hydrobadi, Vijayawada and Amaravathi, I'm not sure which Chicken Biryani my coworker ordered, but it was pretty spicy. So you might want to confirm which style is right for you if you prefer mild. My Mutton Biryani, took a while to make, but it was hot when they brought it. And it was delicious. Ok the reviews live up and I'm adding up to it. So we ordered catering for about 40 people and we needed the food in the early like before noon and they made it happen with super fresh finger licking food ( Indian palate with spice please !) The spice level of the food lives upto an Indian's expectation. On the order - Veg Biryani - super good with loads of veggies and panner ! It was a hit and the whole tray was scraped clean by our guests Gobi Manchurian - right amount of tang and spice ! Veg kadai - had a very butter masala flavor good but not sure if the kadai has cream in usual recipe. Naans - butter and garlic were really good Chicken 65 - yup Chicken Biryani --- absolutely yeah ! It was really good right balance of spices and tasted so fresh ! This is surely their go to signature dish. My husband and I happened to visit Biryaniz a couple weeks back since we were looking for some late night grub! The uncle at the counter was super sweet and helpful in suggesting the right kind of biryani as per our tastes. We eventually settled for the VIJAYAWADA PANEER BIRYANI and it was simply delicious! The rice was flavorful and the curry on the side had just the right amount of spice, heat and flavor. The portion size was great too - we couldn't even fish one entire plate between the too of us! We also got the GOBI MANCHURIAN as an appetizer (forgot to mention that earlier). It did have some heat and was quite different from the ones I've had so far, but it was tasty nevertheless. The new owners did a great job remodeling the restaurant. They painted most of the walls white. They removed the dusty, dark and heavy valances, replacing them with white shades. They also added more light fixtures. I'm not sure since I don't really remember the old flooring, but I believe they also replaced it with new linoleum. The space looks and feels sleek and so much lighter and brighter. I can't decide about the ordering process. You order at the cashier, receive a number and find a table. The cashier, who is also the server, brings out the food but everything else is self serve. They have a couple of stations where you can pick up disposable plates and flatware. They also have airpots of masala tea. It is basically like Indian fast food. OK if you are familiar with the names of your favorite Indian foods. However, the menu on the wall has limited descriptions. I recognized tandoori, samosa, paneer, biryani, naan and curry. They do label and identify what was chicken, shrimp, goat, etc. but don't indicate the heat level. According to the cashier's explanation, I think I ordered the mildest chicken biryani. Now i like spice but if i ordered correctly, then their mild is plenty hot enough for me. Except for the spiciness of the dish, I really enjoyed the flavor. They didn't pull their punches here either. It was robust, full throttle flavor. They certainly didn't tone it down for the American palate. I was sweating bullets, which wasn't helped by the fact that they didn't seem to have the air conditioner on. I kept on eating anyway. Service was definitely not professional. She was sincere about helping, I just didn't appreciate her handling and packing my leftover naan with her bare hands. Her English was sufficient but not proficient. That is why I cannot say with definitive authority that what I really ordered was the mild biryani. Another minor annoyance, everthing was a la carte. I wish they had lunch combos with smaller portions on the menu. They had tandoori chicken that didn't come with anything, no rice or naan. It was the same with the curries. I can't eat a curry without rice or bread. Ordering the curry along with the biryani and naan would have been enough food to feed an army, let alone 1 person. As it was, I had enough leftovers for dinner and a midnight snack that night as well as lunch the next day. This is a great place for groups to order a variety of items and dine family-style. When I first walked in, the people at the counter were a bit rude. My friend and I were looking at the menu for awhile since we didn't know what to order, and the people were a bit aggressive about hurrying up to order. Later, however, service got a lot better. They gave us free bottled water instead of tap water when we asked for water! We ordered the Samosa, garlic naan, and gobi Manchurian. We were both not super hungry but portions were perfect enough so that the two of us were able to finish all of our food. The samosa was pretty basic and had a spicy flavor to it. The garlic naan was definitely the best because it was perfectly crispy and you could definitely taste the garlic. The gobi manchurian is what made me rate this place 3 stars because it was a bit of a disappointment. I order 1) Hyderabadi dum veg biryani 2) Hyderabadi dum goat biryani 3) Baby corn Manchuria Both biryani's were stale, on top of it the veg dum biryani had paneer in it . The goat biryani's meat was burnt at places I am born and raised in Hyderabad and all through have had Biryanis from Hyderabad's Paradise / Bawarchi / Cafe Bahar back home in India , never did I see this in veg dum biryani nor in Goat dum Biryani. The goat biryani was very bland and tasted as if it's not cooked fresh. The counter argument could be that everything is made fresh but in all fairness I wouldn't have been writing this review nor be interested in wasting my time over trivia had that been the case I placed an order at 8:04 PM reached there after 30 mins as per the instructions given to me over phone Every time I checked for status while being in the store the front desk mentioned it will take 1 min. The order was delivered to me at 8:45 I am unsure of the laws during COVID but I think it's human more than any to exercise caution. Adding more to the frustration there was one customer who came in without mask , sat down for a while and then coughed.
