This is my first stay in Anchorage, and I asked the concierge at my hotel where he would recommend for breakfast. His immediate response was, "Biscuit Club". Apparently, pre-pandemic, they also did karaoke. You'll notice that their menu items are named after songs. The service and food are top-notch and reasonably priced. If I could give more than five stars I would. They even catered to my dietary restrictions, which was great. Also, since this is my first time in Anchorage, I asked what restaurants would they recommend given my dietary restrictions, and Jen, gladly wrote multiple restaurants down on a note card for me. This place is a little odd, and its clear they have outgrown the kitchen but the food was honestly excellent, and fresh tasting, My party of three all ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. I like the variety of choices many of which have a little shall I say kick to them. My only beef and the only reason its not a five star is portions. I have been excited to try this place. Finally made it and it was this little tiny place that you order in and eat out in the hall. Different, but ok it works. We ordered the Benny and the Loco Mocotion. They were good. The biscuit is buttery and dense. The gravy was good, could have used maybe a little more but that's just my preference. I chose bacon and I can't believe I'm saying this but it was so much bacon crumble that it actually took over the whole dish and was too much. I mean who says too much bacon right!? Unfortunately, it just drowned all the other flavors out. I'll try something else next time. The loco motion was spicy and great according to my husband. They serve it in the same type of cups that you would get self-serve frozen yogurt in and maybe I'm being picky it just felt like something was missing. I love this place so much. It's the first place I stumbled into when I made it to Anchorage. With the construction on 4th(better to get there from 3rd), it was hard to find but I'm so glad I did. The food is just so good. It's counter service with picnic tables outside, and cozy tables inside. But the food! This place was delicious. Took us a minute to find it... if you're looking it's around back of the building on the ground floor. Once inside we were greeted by the ladies behind the counter. They asked if we had been there before and since we hadn't they gave us the run down. The coffees were perfect, the service friendly, but most importantly the food was perfectly splendid. So just know you're going to have to wait a bit for your food, but that's okay. It's totally worth it. The two women running the shop were solid busting their ass to keep up with demand and I don't see how they could have gotten us our food and coffee any faster, and it's not like there is any room in such a small space for a third employee to speed up the process. So just sit back, enjoy the music, relax and prepare yourself for those crispy, buttery biscuit edges, which are to die for. Keep working your magic, ladies. If/when we're ever back in Anchorage, we will definitely be back again. (I got the Sammy with bacon and added a side of gravy, and got the Jammin' with strawberry jam for the road. My family can't get enough of this place. It's a small little hole in the wall restaurant. There is usually a bit of a wait but totally worth it. It's not fast food it's delicious food. The wait has never been anything to complain about as 100% with it. I always modify my order a bit and so do my kids. They still always cook it perfect and correct. The owner and her small crew so friendly making you feel welcome. We live in South Anchorage and still make the drive downtown even with all the amazing food options. If your visiting make it a AK food memory and if live here make yourself a regular you won't be disappointed. That biscuit was sooooooo good. I got a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich with some sautéed onions, and my girlfriend got the same minus the onions, and it was delicious. I usually don't think that breakfast carry out holds up in the packaging as well, but this was an exception. The biscuit was so soft and delicate but still supported the sandwiches structural integrity. Also love the decor in there, the sticker bombed surfaces makes it feel local while avoiding looking cluttered. Cool pop-culture references all over the place. Lastly, the music was great. I was only picking up, but the few minutes I waited in line to pay were spent happily moving to the music. My only downside has nothing to do with the business, and that's the parking lot being a pay to park can be a hassle especially if you are just popping in to pick something up real quick, but again that has nothing to do with business and is more just about that part of town in all. My husband and I had planned to go to another local breakfast spot but the wait was just too long so we walked down here instead. So glad we did! First, the gals were so nice. Super pleasant to walk into. We both ordered a biscuit sandwich. Think flaky buttery biscuit with eggs the way you like and your choice of meat. Don't forget full service coffee bar.
