Came 9 am Saturday. Pretty busy and packed, and all parking spots are full. Got a mediterranean skillet and biscuit and gravy. The skillet was ok, not amazing. Eggs cooked to my liking. Majority is potato (carbohydrate), smaller is rest of ingredients (vegetables, feta, chicken). They do not allow substitutions. The highlight to our surprise is biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was so soft and airy. I could eat it without anything. The gravy was delicious. Not overly salty or overwhelming in flavor. Not too greasy. I slathered it on my skillet without too much guilt ;). Next time I might get the gravy and omelette combo. The gravy is where it's at folks. Ambiance is busy. I think maybe my expectations were set too high. Biscuits and gravy are tricky to serve. You have to keep the gravy warm and the biscuits fresh AND warm. My order of biscuits and gravy were not hot, neither the biscuits nor the gravy. The biscuits weren't the flaky kind they were the cakey kind. Not my favorite, but other reviewers have commented on this so it was not a surprise. Again, it's hard to serve these items when you're serving so many and have them stay fresh and hot. Do yourselves and your patrons a favor; have your gravy held at a higher temperature and have the servers portion it on the biscuits right before they take to the table. If your going to call your restaurant Biscuits and Gravy, the you need to up your game. My omelette was a simple folded griddle omelette that was flat and unseasoned, not a terribly pleasant omelette experience. The coffee was hot and fresh so that's a plus. The service was terrific so that's another plus. The ambience was good, but the value was so-so. So-So seems to apply here. read more

This place is so cute! First, the outside of the building has a big chicken on top. And the inside is clean and has cute diner vibes. They do have a small parking lot right next door. Staff was really friendly and good came out quickly. I did go on a weekday so it wasn't too busy, but I've heard it's packed on the weekends. Got the classic breakfast- eggs, bacon (was good and crispy), and yummy potatoes and the best part- a biscuit and put honey on it and it was so good! Fluffy and so tasty - highly recommend. We've been to this place several times since opening and every time, our experience has gotten worse and worse. We went yesterday for my Mother's Day and that was the last straw and won't be coming to dine in again. I've never had such a horrible experience going out to restaurant in my life. Although the food is good. We may only stick with carry out from now on if we even decide to come back again. First off, we were first to come in and was immediately seated. Cool. As the restaurant slowly filled, our server didn't greet us basically until the whole place was filled which wasn't quick to begin with. When she finally came by (knowing we already knew what we wanted cuz it took so long to be greeted plus we were repeat customers) she took off so quickly after placing our drink order, we didn't get a chance to order. She gave us such an attitude right off the bat when we just ordered one coffee and 5 waters for a party of 5!! Several minutes later, she finally brings our water and again took off without taking our order. By the time we placed our order, it felt like the entire restaurant (that was a full house at this point) had had their orders in. We didn't get straws with our water (which isn't a big deal but wanted to note it). We were waiting and noticed all the tables that came after us get their food. We (and I'm not exaggerating at all) were the last table to get our food and three of the five meals were wrong! I ordered the country Benedict with grits. She gave me potato's. Again not a big deal but when she took it back, they just scraped the potatoes on to my husband's plate leaving me with barely any gravy because it was all slid onto his!. Again, we were frequent customers so I know they give you a lot of gravy. My daughter ordered raspberry stuffed French toast and surprise! She was given coconut. Thank goodness she wasn't allergic! This entire time we didn't check on us or apologize for the waits or mistakes in our meals. I work in the restaurant industry so I know how hard they work, and am generous with our tip even it wasn't a great experience. It was extremely hard for me to be generous with this server. And I'm not saying this to be mean because I don't know her name but this server is the dark brown hair that's on the bigger side. Again, I'm not describing her to be mean but to have y'all aware to request a different server if you get her! I tried so hard to give her the benefit of a doubt but crap after crap, attitude and neglect? it's like this experience wasn't believable ! This was a really lousy start to my Mother's Day! Our party of 4 dined here over the weekend, and they've set up a good process. You put your name down with a phone number. The staff will text you when the table is ready. This makes it easy to wait in your car or just walk up and down the street. There's definitely not much space to wait inside the restaurant. Everything sounded delicious, almost every type of brunch items were listed on the menu. I decided on the veggie skillet and the amount of veggies were generous. I haven't had biscuits and gravy in forever and this place is legit for it. The flavor of the gravy was delicious, lightly smoked, but not overly. Not sure how they make their biscuits, but they were lightly crispy, yet flaky. This definitely paired well with the gravy. Service was great. Not sure how the staff were able to switch among the tables with different needs, but they did it gracefully and quickly. Criminally forgot to snap a photo before digging in but these biscuits were outrageous! Contrary to your typical KFC, these were buttery melt in your mouth dense (but not try) slabs of cake-like goodness. My over easy eggs were perfectly cooked and bacon was not bad - biscuits were the real star though!! Really exceeded my expectations as a Clawson visitor! read more

Firs things first- the biscuits and gravy. This is what I was most excited to try as it's *the name* and I love b&g. Answer = it did not disappoint. The biscuit is flavorful & the texture is unique. Not a very big place, and you may need to wait during popular hours. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is fast. I enjoyed the veggie benedict a lot. The Tiramisu pancake is a great idea, though the pancake is dry. Not sure if we catch them on an off day for the pancake or if their pancake is always this dry. The biscuit is interesting. It is so rich but somehow really light. It's not thick and heavy like most. The biscuits are soft, fluffy, and way too easy to eat. This is a small gem on the edge of Clawson with the best food at very reasonable prices! I ordered the B&G omelette with cheesy grits and biscuit which all only cost $11 and it was so filling! The fire marshall sign on the wall says only 55 people can occupy the restaurant if that is any indication of how small the space is. Definitely expect a wait to be seated and you will most likely struggle finding parking if you visit on a weekend. They have a private lot to the right of the building but not many spaces. My friend and I got over-medium eggs with sausage, along with cheesy grits and biscuit. Since the name of this diner is called "Biscuits And Gravy", we knew we had to get a side of sausage gravy (+4) to go with our biscuit. The eggs were pretty typical, nothing special -- seasoned lightly with a slightly runny yolk. I ate them with the sausage, which were pretty thin and well-seasoned. I enjoyed the two together. The cheesy grits were very bland, but they were perfect after putting a bit of salt on them. I liked the texture and the creaminess. The biscuit was pretty big and dense, and the sausage gravy was the perfect complement. We thought the sausage gravy was too salty (otherwise, it was good!), so we only lightly drizzled our biscuit with it. Very filling, great option and would recommend. RASPBERRY CREAM STUFFED FRENCH TOAST - 9 After a savory option, we knew we had to get a sweet one, too. Our server said this french toast wasn't as sweet as others, so we went with it. The raspberry cream was tart and not too sweet, which I liked. The french toast were pretty thin, but so fluffy. A lot of cream, so I scraped some off. This was good. The locations rather small, but really well decorated. Staff greeted me quickly and handed me a menu to review. They have tons of good food here, but I went with the Huervos Rancheros. While it wasn't the best that I've had, I got a ton of food for $10. Unfortunately, I don't eat Chorizo, and they said a meat substitution would be an upcharge. Boo Hiss. 100% recommend this place for a great breakfast/brunch in Clawson. The food was made to perfection. My friend and I came hungry so we ordered a lot. I got the Classic Breakfast (two eggs over medium, bacon, cheesy grits and a biscuit). Everything was cooked correctly EVEN the bacon was extra crispy as ordered. The side of avocado I ordered was pretty much the whole avocado which was amazing. I also got the Sweet Cream Pancakes which for me didn't even need syrup to be delicious. I was only able to eat one of three but took the other two home which were great reheated the next day. My friend got the Breakfast Tacos and the Raspberry Cream Stuffed French Toast which she loved both. All food coming out looked delicious - I wanted to eat it all. The guy next to us said it was his second day in a row eating there. Portions were great - not too big not too small and the prices were very fair for what you got. Please don't change anything. Best biscuits and gravy ever! Seriously. Know how you go to some other restaurants for biscuits and gravy and biscuit is this flat hockey puck and the gravy is starchy slop? This is not it. The biscuits are fantastic and the sausage gravy is even better. It is not starchy, it is not slop, it is just delicious. Does this place have its weaknesses? Sure. I ordered two eggs over easy. One egg was over easy, the other one was over hard. Clearly, the grill has a hotspot. Also, the coffee is rather weak and watery. But I can easily overlook that. The server I had was fantastic. My son ordered the southern expended act which was eggs Benedict on a biscuit with sausage gravy on top he absolutely loved it. It came with potatoes or grits. He chose the grits and really enjoyed them. I absolutely love shrimp and grits so I had to try it. It was not disappointing at all so delicious and savory with the chunks of sausage in the delicious red sauce on top of creamy grits. I highly recommend it. The ambiance was perfect small cafe setting felt as if I was in Amsterdam, service was outstanding from our waiting staff. IYKYK... and that place's biscuits and gravy own. As for the biscuit, meh. It's more roll-like in texture. Gravy needs more flavor, and seems heavy on the flour. Some Calders or Guerneys heavy cream would make that divine. Interior is alright. It's nice, but it's also nice in a Home Goods/Kohls kind of way. Meaning, a little forgettable. Staff was friendly, restaurant is new so it's clean. But for the price? Worth it. The Benny plate was $10. With potatoes. If you go to Toast that would cost you probably $14-16. Biscuits and Gravy opened its doors to the public less than a week ago and is a refreshing new restaurant for downtown Clawson. Located a short jog from the intersection of 14 mile road and Main lies a small white building with a giant chicken on top. Inside that building lies a newly renovated breakfast/brunch diner spot. The inside is small but still holds maybe 10 to 15 tables. I arrived on a rainy Tuesday afternoon, a little after noon, and every table was full. There were a couple groups of patrons ahead of me waiting for a table and I also obliged to wait for the dine-in seating. It didn't take too long until the guests in front of me were seated and a table of my own was bussed and ready to go. A few moments after I was seated, a friendly waitress comes by to take my beverage order and leaves me with a menu full of choices. I'd been researching this breakfast spot and I'd studied their menu before on their social media page, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to order. I went with the shrimp & grits but I also wanted to try their namesake item, so I also ordered a single biscuit and gravy. And I couldn't refuse a couple eggs, so I added those onto the biscuit combo. A little while later, my first couple of dishes had arrived. The shrimp & grits and my side of eggs. I was impressed with the size of the shrimp. I couldn't tell you the exact shrimp per pound number, but these were at least large sized. A hefty portion of shrimp for a reasonable price indeed. The shrimp sat on a bed of cheesy grits, topped with halved cherry tomatoes, some chopped sausage, and a sprig of parsley. The dish was served in a mini-skillet, seasoned well, and said crustaceans were not overcooked. Great job on this dish. My biscuits and gravy weren't too far behind. First thing I noticed was the size and texture of the biscuit. The biscuit was huge and cake-like. I'm more used to the traditional biscuit that usually have the same consistency as a rock. Yep, very light, fluffy and cake-like. This biscuits and gravy side also came in the mini skillet and was covered in a decent amount of sausage gravy. The gravy was pretty decent. I could have gone for more errant chunks of sausage in the gravy, but to each their own. I intentionally over-ordered to begin with wanting to try as many different options as possible and after finishing my shrimp & grits I was really struggling to finish the side of biscuits and gravy, as well as the additional two scrambled eggs I ordered. I threw in the towel, asked for the check, and a box for the remainder of my late breakfast. Biscuits and Gravy was great. For a diner still on it's first week, the staff did a great job. This is our favorite place to get brunch on the weekends! The parking lot is pretty small, so you might have to park nearby if it's full. There's usually a wait if you go after 11, but it's definitely worth waiting for. The food is always good and the prices are great to match! We're always impressed by how consistent and efficient they are. I'm gluten free, so I can't have the potatoes or toast, and they've always been great at allowing me to sub some fruit. We popped in for lunch at about 1:00 pm one weekday recently. Parking, as others have mention, is a real rate-limiter because there are more customers usually than available spaces. Inside we got a nice table by the window. I noticed the floor was littered with salad and random food droppings that hadn't been addressed. The seating was quite worn and even beginning to tear too. Table tops were clean though. The server was friendly and attentive. Water was served immediately. She returned pronto with ordered beverages and took our orders. Everything came out in a timely fashion, hot and fresh too. My little cup of soup, a tasty cream of broccoli was served with a HUGE biscuit! It was excellent. I enjoyed the Reuben sandwich too, though had to take half home. Noice level moderate. Prices reasonable. All in all, a good experience. read more
