Went in for a couple beers and was very happy to find Allagash White on tap! We had some calamari which was delicious and ordered a burger to go to bring home to our son. After a few hours on the road, my family and I decided to stop for a tank of gas and noticed the Bishop Hill Tavern and decided to grab lunch This turned out to be a fantastic decision! The menu is varied but still contains many traditional American favorites and the prices are 100% fair- considering the quality of the food and the huge portion sizes! By far the standouts were the burgers. The long list gives a lot of options as far as toppings. Each party had tender, flavorful, juicy meat. These were some of the best burgers we'd ever tasted. This has been on my mind, and after finding out she is the manager I thought I should share. So last week I am sitting at the bar with a person sitting to my left. We are both from out of town. But when I am in Johnston Rhode Island working I enjoy eating the food and the beer is always cold at Bishop Hill. As for the bartenders, you won't find a better bunch of gals. They make everyone feel like they belong. But when the lady behind the bar says out loud while talking to a customer to my right. Let me remind you. I was just told she is the manager. The man to my right says something about the news on TV. The managers reply was this. Fuck those niggers. The man to my left looks at me and as I look at him we both say no way. I say to her excuse me but did you just say that. Her reply was don't worry there are no nigger in scituate. That's my story. It's something I wanted to share. read more

Very pleasantly surprised with my recent visit. The beer selection was a let down, but the food coming out of the kitchen was a lot better than expected. The wings were very good and the burger great. Atmosphere was okay and the staff was very nice. Certainly worth stopping in. I would say the place seems pretty solid. read more

Great place to go with a group. Definitely a great selection of beer and two bars with lots of seating. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the Chicken Parm Sandwich... I get it every time I go there and it's always excellent! Curly fries are also a must with anything that you get! Just a great neighborhood bar/restaurant in a good convenient location. This is my neighborhood bar so maybe im biased, but good food, beer, and people. Good outside hangout where you can drink and watch a game on a big screen. Classic tavern/pub atmosphere. Visit on a sunday or monday for cheap wings and pitchers of the bishop brew are only like $7. read more

Its old! Cool log cabin ambience. Held my boyfriend's surprise party here and we all had a good time. They have karaoke on the last Saturday of the month, which is what drew us there. The karaoke guys were great. Our bartender Bonnie was super nice, although I think she was busier than usual. There were two parties going on. Its small and dim. I had my daughter's 1st Birthday Party in the back room of this restaurant today and EVERYTHING was PERFECT!!! The location was convenient for everyone, prices were great (per person), the food was EXCELLENT and completely exceeded my expectations!!! My guests were extremely impressed and were even asking how I found the restaurant and how accommodating the room was. We will DEFINITELY be using this venue again in the future! Been coming to Bishop Hill for years, thought I'd finally write a review. It's a neighborhood bar, owned by a local guy. The food is decent, the drinks are priced okay. In the summertime, there is a fun outside set-up with games, etc. Be warned, however, my girlfriends and I won't sit at the bar in the front; it's full of loud-mouthed construction-worker types who are often very obnoxious and make racist comments. I've heard some things I wish I hadn't here. Definitely not 'family friendly.' Also....I gotta say, the place often smells terrible. read more

A good local pub with cozy atmosphere. This place definitely has that old time tavern cozy and welcoming feel. The waitress and bartender were very nice and accommodating with good service. We had drinks and food which were both good. The food is a stepabove bar food. THe drinks are VERY generous. My girlfriends and I ordered Cosmos and we could really feel the alcohol! Not a bad thing! They still tasted good. It was a little loud for us but what do we expect on a weekend night I guess. Our bartender/waitress impressed all of us being able to take care of so many people at once, and she didn't mess anything up, and also we felt like we were taken care of and paid attention to. You don't always see that when the bartender is also waiting on tables. They have a firepit outside and games (like a giant Jenga set!) and if it wasn't so cold we would have loved to have sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere! read more

I like to come here for dinner. Not a bad place to grab a drink either. They have a very broad selection of food from traditional bar food (burgers, fries, sandwiches) to chicken entrees and Italian pasta dinners. I have enjoyed all the meals I have ordered here. Surprisingly, my favorite meal here is the spaghetti, sausage, meatballs, and peppers. The burgers and sandwiches are also really good, and have witty names, such as Fat Bastard, Broke Back Burger, and the Jersey Shore sandwich (steroid free chicken of course!). The also have a truly amazing sandwich called the '420' with fried chicken, jalapeno poppers, bacon, and macaroni and cheese. The service here is always good. They also have a cool outdoor area. They also occasionally have had live music while I was there. I would not recommend coming here if you are looking for some quiet. It is usually pretty loud in here between the music and the locals who drink at the bar. The only negative I can think of is some of the dinner prices (I think they recently went up). $16 for some of the entrees seems a little steep for this place. But other than that, the prices of the sandwiches and burgers are pretty standard. read more

Found myself in Scituate for a basketball tournament and afterwards stumbled upon the Bishop Hill Tavern for snacks and drinks. This place does not disappoint! Better than the food and drinks is the service from Heather. She was taking care of a full bar as well as the tables in the bar area and we never felt neglected! Her suggestions on the menu were spot on and we will definitely find our way back here again. True hidden gem. ASK FOR HEATHER! read more

This is my first time at this establishment and I'm thoroughly impressed. The late night food menu is great and comes with huge portions. The bar staff is awesome and attentive; Kayla made me feel super comfortable and never made me wait for a drink. This just might be my new Sunday night destination. read more

food is awful! takes forever to get your order and its usually not prepared right. bartenders are foul mouthed and sound like truckers on crack! prices have gone up while service and quality have gone down. i now go to BENTLEYS TAVERN wich is a quarter mile down the street. its clean well staffed and the quality of the food and drinks are consistant. read more

My girlfriend and I along with my family tried this place just out of curiosity. It's a nice cozy country style type pub but we were not impressed with the food at all. The service was good, the waitress was friendly. We were not really greeted when we walked through the front door, just told where we could sit. The first thing that bothered me was my father trying to order off the specials menu, the waitress did not inform us in the beginning that they were out of certain things. My dad wanted to get the french sirloin steak that was on the specials but she did not inform him until he ordered that they were out of sirloin. I really wanted a steak and cheese sandwhich, it sounded delicious and I had been craving one all day, but again we were not informed in the beginning that they were all out of sirloin. My dad got the lasagna, he said it tasted like it was frozen, I settled for a pizza with sausage, peppers and onions on it. I was not impressed by this pizza at all. It looked like absolute garbage, it tasted like they just opened a jar of prego and threw it on the pizza and the crust was very flat and chewy. I absoultely love pizza, I've had it from all over and their pizza gets a 1 out of 10 in my book. My girlfriend got the bbq chicken and bacon pizza and also was not impressed by it, she said the bbq sauce tasted like they poured it out of a plastic bottle on the pizza. My pizza was also the last to come out, I got my food about 15 mins after my family got their's. Overall my girlfriend and I both said when we got home that we would'nt be going back there. It looks like a nice place to maybe go grab a drink after work or just grab a drink with a friend or something. read more
