Get your hair cut somewhere else. Trust me. This was the first time I went to Bishops. Giselle Medina cut my hair and it was the single worst haircut that I have had in at least 20 years. I am convinced that she never actually went to cosmetology school: it was like watching a child cut hair based on how they thought it should be done. She did not listen to me and cut 2X as much off as I asked, but only in some spots. The cut was totally inconsistent: the hair around my ears and neck is literally longer than the hair on the top of my head. Had to pay another salon to fix it and they were amazed that my hair was this bad. Never again. read more

I've been a fan of Bishops haircut ever since I first wrote that review about a year ago, but last night I had just a really bad experience so I guess it depends on which stylist you get. Mostly my experiences have been good with the bishops in Campbell as well as Cupertino but last night I was running a little late for my appointment, called two times, no one answered, when I got there everyone seemed weird and flurried, there wasn't the usual polite greeting and being offered a drink, and then I got such a terrible haircut I literally went home and cried. They gave me 10 bucks off but that haircut should've been free, and they did not respond to my subsequent messages. I guess the moral of the story is that if you find someone good at bishops, stick with them, because they aren't all good. read more

Didnt even ask before cutting my sideburns and now they are super short and uneven from left vs right. You could have asked, like most hairdressers do?!!! Just went straight ahead with that clipper! Highly unprofessional, considering this is a high-end salon. Top was cut unevenly and there are edges left uncut. Feel cheated for the $40 I paid! Gates did an awesome job! He gave me a full face shave by razor blade. Also a hair wash - it was awesome cuz he gave a head/ scalp massage too! Then he blew -dry and styled my hair a bit. When I told her that I had sensitive scalp and would avoid using any chemicals or cream, she heard to my requests and took all necessary precautions and did an amazing job. This is a great place for anyone looking to clean up their look or go for a totally different one. It's completely inclusive for everyone, and I felt very welcome. Serena did a great job with my hair and listened to what I wanted as far as styling, and was able to be a little creative to fill in any gaps. My hair (on the left) when I came in was an absolute mess - I had previously been to a subpar salon and the dye wasn't high quality. My hair felt like straw and looked like it too :( fortunately for me, America is an expert with hair. In under three hours she had my hair dyed, shampooed, dried, and styled and omigoodness it looked gorgeous!! I absolutely loved getting it done as we chatted about our fav tv shows to pass the time. She was very sweet and easy to talk to!! Second time back to this place for coloring. Not so impress by my color person. Definitely not same as the first person. They also raised the price for touch up. Now at least $70. I mentioned to my stylist that I have an event later in the day. Meaning try to keep the skin from staining. We'll, I think she did the opposite. Didn't use skin protectant. And got so much color on my skin. Even when I do a touch up at home, I couldn't stain my skin as much as this person did. I had told some people to go here after a great first experience with color and cut. After this experience, told my them not to go. Definitely not going back. I think you'll get a better color service at Super Cut. read more

This is a fairly new hair salon and I thought I would check it out because they had a grand opening promo a while ago. The prices here are reasonable, but the service at the price and the experience level they bring is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT! This review is about the experience I had and may not reflect the salon on a different day with different stylists. I dropped by on a weekday afternoon without an appointment because they take walk-ins. There was no one else there and after I sat down and they were getting started...it was very obvious why nobody else was there. I'm not super picky about my haircut, but I would like the person who cuts my hair to have had some practice before. During the consultation period, I said I wanted a trim, but also wanted to hear her suggestions. She said nothing and proceeded to start cutting my hair. With her bizarre "bedside manner" I asked her about her experience and she said she was a receptionist before trying to get into a training program when the store shut down and this role at this new store opened up. This means she may have had unofficial training and has been on the job since the store opened...5 weeks ago. I get that everyone has to start somewhere...but at larger salons, they will usually tell you if the person is new or if they just graduated from beauty school. When I found out, she already started cutting my hair. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and let her to her thing. She had me standing she she cut my hair, which is fine, I don't mind standing. But she had me facing away from the mirror the whole time and didn't let look as she was cutting. She was cutting it straight across in the back and I wanted something with a curve. I mentioned that and she said that everyone cuts hair differently. It was pretty obvious that she was starting to get frustrated, as was I. I stopped talking at that point. I was still facing away from the mirror and when she was combing my hair, she was tugging on it and what felt like intentionally pulling too hard. At that point, the more experienced stylist, who could see her tugging on my hair and me wincing silently in pain, told her to take a break and that she would finish up. The new stylist spent about 2 minutes cleaning it up and calling it a day. She did ask if I wanted framing bangs. I said yes and she hastily cut it. She didn't offer for me to see the back of my hair. I had to ask if I could see it and she pointed to the handheld mirror. I grabbed it myself and checked out the back of my hair. It was still straight and not the way I wanted it, but I was done giving this place a shot. I got rung up and got out of there. This was a waste of time and money. I will be going to my usual place to get it fixed. read more

I really wanted to like this place as it seems to be getting quite a few good reviews. The staff themselves are super friendly and the facility itself is very nice. However, all that I truly care for is a good cut and unfortunately I did not get that. The staff informed me that they cater more towards women styling and it definitely showed in the hair cut quality that I got. Poorly faded sides and uneven cuts at the top are things I came out with. It's extremely likely I will need to get this cut redone in a week or two by someone who is able to do men's cuts properly. I absolutely hate giving reviews like this, but based on my experience, I cannot see myself going back. read more

She's meticulous with the clippers and always pays attention to the details- I've come out looking clean and have been satisfied every time. Jazz is also a pleasure to speak with and makes me feel at ease, and I've had no problems communicating what I want out of a particular haircut. I was desperate for a haircut, and my regular stylist will be gone for awhile. Danielle cut my hair, and did a great job cleaning up all the damaged ends and layering it. I think this location does cater more to guys cuts, so for women's cut I would go to Danielle or other stylist who does more women's styling. I booked online for an appointment, but unfortunately there was a mix up on who was going to actually cut my hair, and they already had a client they were working with. However, they made it right by telling me when to come back later, and gave me discount for the error.
