I came here to buy a gift for a friend of mine upon entering the store. The sales associate was already bothered. I told her I'm looking for a small gift nothing huge and I gave her my price range and she told me that it's limited after looking at a couple of things which was a bother for her when I would ask her a question her answer would be I don't know and shrugged me off and kind of moved on . Customer service is essential if you want customers to buy things from you. when I would ask for her opinion or what she would recommend her response would be a blank I don't know. She just wanted me to purchase something and get out of the store. I picked a ring and I asked her if it was 22 karat gold and she replied yes I'm stupid enough to trust her without even looking at it. I really could not see it in the store because it was so small. I trusted her word on it guess what it's actually 10 carats! it was too late to go back because I needed to give this to somebody, but that was the first and last time that I'm ever coming here again the older lady gave me the worst customer service possible didn't even know how to take a Zelle payment made me feel very uncomfortable even walking in there felt very sleazy. My family recommended this place to me, and now they have lost mine and my family's business going forward not an honest business. read more

Their prices are reasonable unlike some other Indian jewelers in Berkeley where they sell very similar products for twice the price. I like Bismillah's family; they are honest and very nice people. I met the dad, mom, and their 4 kids. They all are very nice, always smiling and happy to conduct business with me even though I am a difficult customer and ask a lot of questions and ask to try many of their products. They never showed me any unhappiness about my behavior. Their eldest son didn't mind me trying multiple necklaces, bracelets before deciding what to purchase. This is a warning to everyone! I came to this place twice in the past. The second time was when I went to have my mom's broken gold necklace fixed. Yes they fixed it but they also cut the length short! . It was a genuine 18k heavier link that measured 24 inches but when they returned it to us after waiting for prob 15-30 minutes, it was prob only 18 inches long. We tried to argue and complain but they insisted that that was the original length and they asked us to leave. Looking at my poor mom who was both upset and scared, I ushered her out to our car. They have a gated store and they could do anything to us inside without anybody else knowing. If they cheat you on repairs, they also cheat you on the authenticity of their merchandise! never knew this place existed til a coworker told me about it. Came here to get a nose ring, since the original ring i got my nose pierced with is giving me trouble. first came at 12n, and saw that they don't open til 130pm. Was fine cus i lived literally 5 mins away. Came back at 140pm, and store was not open yet. Another car parked there was waiting for the store also and said they should be coming soon. no one came until 2pm. Anyways, decent size jewelry store and they also sell makeup cream and the indian suits. So nice. the store became quite busy after opening and there was only 2 people. The girl helped me pick out a nose ring, but said her sister was on her way and that she could help me remove my old one and put the new one on. Her sister didn't come until almost 30 mins later. I don't mind waiting, but don't say she will be here in 10mins unless it's 10 mins. But i was able to look around until she arrived. when she arrived, she was apologetic and was very nice so i didn't mind. She helped me remove my old ring and placed the new one. She was very gentle because i was even scared of her removing the old one. she was very hygienic about cleaning the new jewelry and old one also. would def come back again for new jewelry or maybe an indian suit. My ring was resized. Now my ring fits. I was so happy that I ended up bringing my other ring also. And they did the resize while I was looking at their fabulous Indian outfits. Each of the clothing design was a different piece. And to top it off they actually had many children's outfits that were different not just your typical blue and pink suits but dresses with nice colors and different sizes to all kid types not just skinny Indians! They re-sized a couple of my rings and they ended up ruining majority of the ring...I dont knw how, it is a simple sizing procedure. When you point it out, they say "oh, it looks just fine." I wonder what their eyes are showing them?? I had to re-sell it back to them because it was horrid. Also, the ring does not even have a finish and you can still see where the cut was made. I got some repairs and was charged $110 for a ruby stone to be fixed in a bangle and resize 3 rings. I requested to add gold and resize my rings, but no gold was added. Due to my suspicion, the second time, I requested to weigh my two rings and asked them to resize by adding gold to the rings. My wedding band was increased by 0.3 gram of gold and the other ring was the same weight when I received after resizing. However, I was charged $200 for this second repair. Basically, all my rings were made thinner and resized except for the wedding band. The ring which weighed the same after supposedly adding gold was cut and used the same gold in the ring to resize and is not level inside. The owner said that it's okay if the inside of the ring is not level and said it's fine as long as it doesn't give discomfort to my finger. I'm very upset that my rings were ruined, their value is now gone. I spent $310 at Bismillah Jewelers to ruin my valuable jewellery which I purchased in another country.
