What a cute Kansas City gem!!! I got their grilled smores latte off their autumn menu and a chocolate croissant. The baristas were so nice and the ambiance was lovely. I was obsessed with decor both inside and out!

Super cute hidden gem in KC. This coffee shop has a European style with a short, curated menu. Highly recommend getting the chocolate croissant heated up. Note it is credit card only.

Absolutely lovely. Friendly staff. Coffee was perfect. Pastries delicious. You are transported as you step through the gate. Sweet outdoor tables and inside the decor is as if you've wandered in from the Rive Gauche.

Great coffee shop if you are looking for a cool vibe in KC. The service is fast and friendly! We didn't have the food this time but for sure coming back to have some!

*not* a cardamom bun. But very pretty.

The good: LOVE the music! I was bopping to the 70s disco/funk for the 2+ hours I worked there. Good times! I also really liked my "Prada colada" espresso, which is one of their summer specials. The not so good: I asked if the yummy looking cardamom bun I saw was in fact, a cardamom bun. Yes! I was told. Alas, two bites confirmed for me that there was zero cardamom in the bun. When I took it back to the counter she told me that it was a cardamom bun, and asked if I wanted a box for it. I think a refund or a replacement treat would have been the right move, but really people- there was NO cardamom in the bun. I declined the box and the treat went to waste. It's just not what I was in the mood for. Also I told her that I'd prefer a glass for my drink since I'm avoiding single use plastic... she gave me a glass, and also a plastic straw. This place is upscale, I have to think they can do better than plastic straws here. I think this place has potential, I may try again some day.

Okay, needing a sexy coffee shop with a French twist AND they have drink-drinks!! I took my laptop, grabbed a croissant and cup of coffee and enjoyed the hustle around me in the cute coffee shop. Definitely put this on your list of must-stops!

What a vibe and hidden gem of KC! My friend and I went over the weekend for a Saturday brunch and absolutely loved the environment. The weather was nice enough we could sit on the patio :) Coffee was incredible and they have alternative milks. The snacks were good, I just wish they had some larger dishes. Staff was very friendly! Thanks Bisou!

An adorable coffee shop off the beaten path in the westside neighborhood off southwest boulevard, located on Jefferson street tucked away from busy traffic. The outside is charming with pretty pink flowers and a black and white color scheme. The inside is even cuter with Parisian fashion elements everywhere and adorable bistro tables. The menu changes with the seasons and when I was there they were in between summer and fall so, of course, I opted for a fall pastry and a summer drink. The drink I chose sounded so unique and tasted even better than it read on the menu, the drinks are all themed after designers so, mine was aptly named the Prada Colada Latte and had notes of pineapple and coconut. The actual description was espresso, pineapple juice and coconut cream and it tasted like a tropical vacation, the sweet notes of pineapple and coconut balanced out the deep bitter espresso, I was utterly in shock how well these flavors worked together. The scone I went with was a pumpkin one that wasn't too sweet and instead took the earthy notes of pumpkin with a touch of warm spice, the best part of the scone was the texture that came from the pumpkin seeds (or pepitas) that were sprinkled throughout. There is no doubt in mind I will be back to Bisou and if you are a coffee shop connoisseur and haven't been here you are truly missing out!

On the Westside near La Bodega, a cafe sous le pont, it's got stylish Parisian artsy vibe including the music. You could definitely relax, work, take up a good book here. You wouldn't know it was there unless you sought it out! My croissant was flaky, crispy with the drizzle of chocolate.. heavenly! All pastries were made this morning! My family enjoyed their selection quiche which blended fillings capture your tastebuds and cheddar biscuits that was crisp yet moist and tender. Service was extremely personable, speedy and pleasant! Loved the personal touch of a seahorse on the hot chocolate too!

Bisou is still a somewhat new face in a bustling coffee space in KC, but I really appreciate how they set themselves apart with a real Parisian atmosphere. When I stopped in for a coffee and pastry, while I knew sort of where Bisou was located, I was a little surprised to find it in an area near the entrance ramp to I-35 that is often overlooked. In some ways it's really nice to find that part of town being utilized, and in other ways - like how overflow parking leads you under the interstate, it's not so great, as even on a well lit summer morning parking my car there did give me a bit of a pause. All of that aside Bisou delivers on atmosphere, coffee, and pastries (provided by the iconic Blackhole). I really enjoyed my time there, and I'm sure I'll be back as it's a solid place to visit with folks or take a business meeting. Though, I would caution that the patio gets full sun in the morning so in the summer seating indoors would be at a premium.

Such a fun European inspired coffee shop with the best strawberry matcha I've had in the area! They have outdoor and indoor seating to meet up with friends, coworkers, and family. There were a few people working as they offer free WiFi also. The strawberry croissant was flaky and delicious! The matcha was made fresh and tasted great. They have a few different sweet and savory treats on the menu. Parking is located on the street or across the street under the bridge.

As others have accurately pointed out, the vibes are on point here. It's got a slightly upscale yet relaxed Parisian feel, and I feel like it adds another option to the Westside area. I really appreciate the effort on the big outdoor patio, but it just so happens to be positioned on a frontage road to I-35 highway, so it's quite loud if you choose to sit out there. Fortunately the inside has lots of seats in both a front and back room. I would call it cozy, but it was frigidly cold with A/C blasting on the day I was there. I got a simple drip coffee and had to pause at the $5.50 price tag for a cup of coffee, however it turned out to 1) taste incredible and 2) have a free refill offered when I asked, so it's ultimately worth it for a caffeine fiend like myself. They also have one of my favorites: Blackhole Bakery pastries. While I skipped them this time, I wouldn't pass them up if I were you. I work remote and like to bounce around to various spots to try them out, so the likelihood of me being a regular here is quite low. However, I enjoyed seeing what it's all about and love to have more quality options in town.

Stopped in this morning with a friend to Bisou - and wow! What a cute cute cuuute atmosphere. Very creative. They had just the right amount of options on the menu, service was quick and drinks were perfectly made. I had a pumpkin donut with a hot chai latte. Will definitely remember this place for other dates!

The reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the lack of customer service. Both the cashier and barista were not very friendly. They were brisk. I tried to engage in a converation about their pastries and they seemed disinterested and just wanted to move on to taking orders and making drinks. They weren't even busy. I arrived an hour after they opend and the place was 10% full. The food was good. I got the avocado toast and with a littl more salt and hot sauce; it was delicious. The place also smelled amazing. I was engulfed in the aroma of cinnamon, sugar and butter and roasted coffee. I could not have been happier except for the lack of warmth and feeling of connection and a sense of community one often gets in an independent coffee shop. The hot latte I got was good. Oat-milk was $1.25 extra which I thought was a bit steep for Kansas City. But I guess prices/inflation affects us all. The ham and cheese croissant I got was super delicious. It was better than the avocado toast. I would get the croissant again. The rooftop area was a vibe. There were more people up there talking so it had better energy. I think on the first and second floor, most people were just working and on their laptops, so it was overall very quiet.

Eclectic decor in the older building with exposed brick walls and a fair amount of plants up front. It's a large space with a variety of seating options - maybe 4 or 5 two-tops along the windows in the front, a few large booths that could sit six each if you're cozy, 3 or 4 nooks with a mix of couches and stereotypical coffee shop seating, a larger table in the back, and some bar seating as well. The traditional coffeeshop style seating is a nice touch, and feels like a throwback to a different era, when coffee shops weren't just a ton of people on laptops. That being said, they're clearly trying to draw in remote workers and their ilk, with plentiful outlets (i.e. four outlets at the booth I sat at and I can see 4 under counter outlets for every 2 or 3 bar stools. They've also got signage at the tables encouraging sharing the larger spaces/inviting others to sit with you. Was probably a little quieter than normal since it was Memorial Day, so the sign to share the space didn't come in to play, but I appreciate the vibe and community they're trying to create. Decaf americano was fine, but it was in a paper cup which felt like a bit of a miss. They didn't ask if I wanted it for here or not, but I do see some mugs on top of the large Rancilio espresso machine (so the purists may balk it's not a La Marzocco).
