This place is a waste of time and $. Super food power breakfast? Why then do thy feel the need to use imitation maple syrup and make their 'heart healthy' steal cut oatmeal with heavy cream. My strawberries had mold on them and my muffin tasted as though it was recently purchased in a vending machine. Except for the view, I won't recommend this place for breakfast. We went because we had a room with breakfast at the Westin...we should have skipped it. First you're "welcome" by a rude hostess who roughly estimate your waiting time to 20 minutes and ask you to stay close by. Then you're seated to one of the many available tables. You need to wait another 10 minutes to order beverages and 10 minutes to receive tasteless coffees and hot chocolate made out of water. I love the look of the restaurant with the multicolored chairs and it has a great view of the ocean. The food and drinks were also really good. My husband and I both got dishes that came with their mac and cheese. Oh man there is something in their cheese mix that gives it a very different but delicious flavor. I wish we had time to try this place for breakfast or lunch. I probably would've liked it even more. I guess I wished the menu was a little more casual but maybe that's just dinner. With the fun look from the outside it put me in the mood for something fun and laid back like lobster rolls and a margarita instead of fish and steak but the food was good nonetheless. read more

You get a view of the ocean and a nice view of sunset, but the food and service are average so we probably won't go back. The hostess at the beginning was unhelpful and didn't seat us even though a sign said "Please wait to be seated." We ended up seating ourselves and the server was pretty nice. He didn't come by very often though, and given that there was really no one there, they should've been more attentive. The drinks were pretty good - pina colada and key lime koolada. Strong and sweet, so maybe come here for cocktails. Crab cake appetizer was not bad... Except one was cold inside. The mixed platter was okay, but the lobster, shrimp, and fish had literally no seasoning. It's not fun to eat bland seafood. Overall, come for the view and cocktails, but consider skipping dinner service. read more

During our trip to Key West, we wanted to have a good new years' eve dinner with a view. After some intensive research online, we decided on Bistro 245 because of its view of the ocean and sunset. We made a reservation and I confirmed twice to make sure that we'd be able to see the sunset as we ate. When we arrived, there was a cruise ship blocking the view. It was upsetting but the manager proposed that we watch the sunset and then come back for dinner and we'd still be able to see the last of the sunset. Note that cruise ship docks in every Thursday and every other Sunday, I believe. On Sundays, the cruise ship departs at 5pm, however, on NYE, it departs at 6pm. The food at Bistro 245 was good but nothing too special. We ordered the tuna tataki, lobster quesadilla, and the shrimp flatbread. The tuna tataki was my favourite as I really liked the ginger soy vinagrette. Someone in my party said she thought the shrimp in the shrimp flatbread was a bit overcooked. I ordered the Bistro 245 Mixed Grill - I really like the lobster and shrimp, but I found the grouper to be a bit bland and dry, and the potatoes were a bit too salty. Note that certain fish are sourced locally so I'd confirm before ordering if fresh seafood is what you're looking for. Also, note that the menu we got at the restaurant was more extensive than the one online. I also ordered a pina colada and it was very strong. Someone else in my party ordered a sangria, and she also agreed that her drink was too strong. I was pleasantly surprised by their service and it's what I'd come back to Bistro 245 for. We had 2 small dogs and they were allowed to join us in the outdoor dining area. The servers even brought each dog a bowl of water, without us even having to ask. I later learned that restaurants in the southern Florida area are extremely welcoming to dogs, so I'm not sure if this treatment is the norm in this area. Our server, Mike, was very patient with our party of six and because our stay exceeded the 2 hours for free parking in The Westin parking lot, the manager extended our parking session. I would recommend Bistro 245 to those who want to enjoy a meal with a good view or with a special occasion to celebrate, but I'd be wary of cruise ship docking and I'd confirm the cruise ship docking times beforehand. read more

Great location and atmosphere, service is phenomenal and every single person my family and I have met staff wise, has exceeded our expectations every single time. We occasionally go to the Sunday brunch and it has always been an outstanding experience. The food is absolutely delicious and there are tons of options for everyone to enjoy. Disappointed! Walked up at 4:16 because we wanted a bite before our second experience at the peer. We walked up and had to look for someone to tell us they were closed, we decided to have a seat where the bartender proceeded to tell us they were closed and we needed to go to the bar if we wanted anything we said we would walk up shortly. 4:19 comes and two additional families walk up and have a seat then same guy that came up to us offered to get a server for them where they got served and ate. Disappointing I'm still sitting here as I am writing this and another family sat down and catered , we have yet to even be followed up with.. not sure if we're being discriminated against or not but something feels odd about it all . Had this place picked out for my birthday dinner, booked weeks ago. Unfortunately our beautiful outdoor sunset dinner got stormed out. And they couldn't guarantee us a spot inside I was told. We had a great dinner on Mother's Day. My grouper and my wife's steak were both excellent. The great sunset view a bonus.

We stopped down here for thanksgiving, had to make a reservation the only time available was at 8:30. When we called to verify they stated they were running a little behind, and we were seated at 8:45. The waiter stated they were closing in 15 minutes. However, they allowed us to order and treated us like anyone else giving us the time and courtesy as everyone else. The food was delivered fast and it was delicious. I was blown away by the food. I have eaten fish across the country and I fell in love with the preparation of the yellowtail stuffed with crab. My mom tried the mahi preparation and finished her plate until there was nothing left! The restaurant is right on the water where you can get an incredible view of the Key sunset. You should call in for a reservation or like us eat an earlier dinner or you may be turned away. It is a little on the pricey side, but the food will not disappoint you. Have been here a few times before for sunset cocktails, so I was excited when friends asked us to join them for Easter Brunch. Wonderful setting that was very well organized with attentive yet unobtrusive servers. There was an omelette and carving station, a rather substantial offering of raw bar fare, fresh fruits and veggies, hot pastas and sides, and quite a selection of pastries and desserts. I did think it was a tad expensive, but being a veg head, there are many things I don't eat. The never ending mimosas and the dessert bar more than made up for that. Hmm, this little gem is a bit hidden. If you are in Mallory Square follow the waterfront walkway to get to the cruise ship dock and along the way you will find what I consider to be the most beautiful dining experience in Key West. I went for lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon and was seated outside so that I had a spectacular view of the ocean! Our waiter, though not perfect, was very friendly, forthright when he committed an error, and eager to please. Our wine and glasses were perfectly chilled! I had the crabcake appetizer with avocado salad and was on my way to heaven! The perfectly ripe avocados were a creamy accompaniment to perfectly fried meaty crabcakes! Heaven was reached when I my lobster po'boy was served! The lobster tail was flattenned and fried in a coconut batter and lightly covered with a remoulade. The hot & tangy banana peppers provided a wonderfully pleasing pop of flavor. Equally tasty, and arguably much healthier, was my husband's blackened grouper sandwich. As is the case in much of Key West, the fresh was fresh , flaky & delicious! I ended up trading half of my po'boy for half of the grouper! *note* Do not order the mango slaw unless you are a big fan of cumin! I highly recommend this location for it's quality of food, scenic views (which must be killer at sunset!), and good service. read more

We ate here twice, and the experiences were polar opposites. We walked in one morning around 11am for brunch, and we were seated outside and served immediately. We are staying in a suite at the Opal Key Resort, so it was nice and convenient. The server was nice, helpful, and generally everything you want out of a server. We had a lovely and tasty brunch (the blueberry pancakes were reeeeeally good), and we went on with our day. The next day, we decided to run by for coffee and dessert around 7:30pm, which is about 1.5hr before closing. Despite the patio being only 1/2 full, we were told they could only accommodate us indoors because we didn't have a reservation. We've been on our feet running around for hours, so the idea of being inside in the cool air didn't bother us much. There were quite a few empty tables, but they put us in the one right next to the kitchen, so it was LOUD. Our server literally threw our menus on the table (it was so hard it made everything on the table jump) and seemed really annoyed when we said we just wanted dessert. He went to get the dessert menus and practically threw those at us as well. He brought my coffee, and it was almost cold. We were there about 40min, and watched ONE family seated on the patio, while it remained at least 1/2 empty. Meanwhile, we were forgotten next to the clattering kitchen. I finally asked someone who worked there if we could get our check, and he said he would have to find our server. It took at least another 10min to get him. We're very easygoing people, but this whole thing was pretty ridiculous. We were treated like a burden, and we are paying A LOT of money to stay here. The only redeeming quality of the whole experience was that the crème brûlée was delicious. My husband said the key lime pie was good, but nothing great. The nicest the server was to us was when he saw us writing the room number on our check and asked if we were staying here. This is our last night in Key West, so it's a shame it was a little tainted by such a terrible experience. Brunch is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. If it were based on tonight alone, I can't see giving more than 2. read more

We were visiting the Keys and two of my kids went out to eat there since it was close to our stay. It was empty which was understandable during the current situation. But what upset me the most is that both of them got food poisoning within hours of coming home. The leftovers that they brought home, I trashed it: just to be safe.
