Came here for lunch while staying at the Westin. The only good thing about this place is the view. The food was decent and overpriced. Had the Southernmost Crab Cakes and the Ahi Tuna for appetizers. The tuna was just ok. The crab cakes were better. Then had the Caribbean Seafood salad and it wasn't what I expected. Very bland. Had no "caribbean" flavor in it (menu mentioned it came with a ginger mango dressing). The waiter also wasn't very friendly. Most likely wouldn't go back. read more

The best thing this place has going for it is the water view eating outside. The service is begrudging and questions are answered with dismissiveness. The food is fine. It's not bad. But it's not great. I had the garlic mahi, and, it was... fine. Not nearly enough flavor and I couldn't taste the garlic or any of the other flavors promised, but the fish was cooked well. This place is coasting on its location to be the main draw. But in Key West, that's a big draw, so go to enjoy the view, which is truly lovely. Just keep your expectations in check for the food and the service. read more

I got a draft beer and the two bartenders, a guy with a combover and a squat blonde girl, kept looking over at me and my son and laughing at me, as if they gave me a dirty glass or spat in the beer or something. Arrived ar 5:42 for a 5:45 reservation . Seated on time. DId not order an appy but did order 2 beers for us. Took an bretty long time to get the beers although we we seated next to the bar. At that point we orrded our entrees. In the mean time a party of 6 was seated and 2 teens came in after us. Needless to say the teens recieved their food before us. At tahat point the waiter cane over and said our food would be out in a minute. Another 10 minutes passed and no food. Be mindful that the restaurant had many empty tables. At that point my wife asked how much longer. She was told a few more minutes. We were now waiting over 40 minutes and nothing. We called the waiter and told him to cancel the order. At that point the manager came over and said please wait that our order would be out soon. We refused and left. Upon further reflection , I wonder if our age had anything to do with it? We were clearly the oldest in the restaurant. Who knows but we will never return here. read more

I'm not a hard butt when deciding on a review rating, but I do have categories or bullet points; Service, Food, Value and Atmosphere and in that order. With a 5 star, a restaurant for me has to hit all 4 out of the park. Bistro 245 did that for us, twice. This is the second time we have had brunch here. And again, could not have had a better experience. Service (Baris) made us feel as if we were the only ones there and trust me, that was not the case. Food... in a word....Awesome. If you can imagine upscale island fare, this Brunch had it...from Tuna tartar to Swordfish to basic brunch items lIke Eggs Benedict with a great Hollandaise. An omelette station that also carved some of the best Prime Rib I have ever cut with a fork to deserts that melted in your mouth. I had a Spicy Bloody Mary and being from the south my spice levels are bit higher than others and this drink made my taste buds smile. My wife's mimosa glass never got half empty. The atmosphere on the water with views of the amazing cruise ships docked and the sparkling blue waters of the Keys. Just an amazing brunch that did not disappoint. You will definitely need to make reservations in advance. I suggest you start at the 90day mark. This is not an experience you will want to miss. Worth every minute you have to drive, fly or paddle your way to it. Thank You Bistro 245, you did it again. I am still full from ya, but thinking about that Swordfish has my mouth watering again. Definitely in the Top spots for dining in the keys. On the outside it looks casual but beware it is on the pricey side! The food was excellent though especially my coffee dessert lol and the portion size was enough for leftovers. Service was attentive and FYI go when you can see the sunset .. it was beautiful. read more

Delicious!! Such a beautiful view. Make a reservation because you never know how busy they'll be. They serve delicious complimentary bread. We enjoyed the chopped salad and very authentic Caesar salad. The truffle lobster Mac n cheese is our favorite on the island. The surf and turf was delicious and a perfect portion for 2. Way overpriced and bland. I had the Lemon Garlic mahi. For $29, it was a dried out 5oz piece of Mahi cut in two and stacked on a bed of flavorless, dried out Mac n cheese and 5 pieces of steamed asparagus. My wife had crab cakes. She loves crab cakes. She loves GW Fins crab cakes in New Orleans for reference. They were almost complete filler with little crab for $15 and way over cooked. Two ominous signs. 1) No one in our group had spoken aloud about their food and did not share their entree. You only share with friends or spouses if you're enjoying it. It is a tell tale sign that nobody cared for their meal. 2) it was dead on a Friday night. Service was spot on. Sadly, Bonefish does a better and fresher take on seafood then this place and that's not saying much. read more

We stayed at Margaritaville resort and marina and this restaurant is part of the resort. We had dinner here at 7:30 pm on a Friday evening to coincide w the sunset. People gather at the water edge to watch the sunset so we thought it would be a great key west experience. There were not many ppl for a evening and when people stand at the rail, it's difficult to see the sun sitting at the restaurant. We sat outdoors and had a slew of dishes: Caesar salad, seafood cocktail, seared tuna for appetizers and mains were mahi fish, grouper, grilled seafood and grilled chicken. Food was disappointing for the location and from a name like Margaritaville. Flavours were not there, they were bland and my grouper crust was super salty. Seafood was bland and lack the sweetness of freshness. We liked the side dishes like the gruyere Mac and cheese and my lobster hash, and grilled green beans and asparagus were fine. Oh the frozen rum runner was good, key lime frozen drink wasn't. Bill came to be $250! Red lobster tasted better and we don't love red lobster either. Don't come here for dinner, sit, have drinks eat appetizers and watch the sunset. You would have had all the best the place has to offer. read more

Very disappointed. Be warned to call ahead. They should post a warning online when making reservations that a cruise ship has docked blocking the entire waterfront view. I was not willing to spend $44 for Sunday brunch by the water and not be able to see any water out to sunset key. We were very disappointed about this and the wait staff didn't seem to care that they should somehow warn people. read more

This place was just terrible. We went expecting a wonderful date night and it was not what we expected. Way over priced. I ordered a caesar salad and it was served with anchovies. I had not read that on the menu. Made the whole salad terrible and the waiter simply replied "it was on the menu". We shared the lobster pasta and it was cold, to the tune of $38! Mine is definitely better at home. The salad was $14 and it had lettuce and that's pretty much it. PLEASE don't waste your time or money. This wasn't fine dining, not by a long shot! read more

I can't rave enough about our experience here. We made reservations before our trip after reading some very positive TripAdvisor reviews. We had 6 pm reservations which allowed for a view of the entire sunset. (Don't forget to apply sunscreen before you go, you are in direct sunlight). There was excellent people watching as well. We had the crab cakes for appetizer- highly recommend next we split the Caesar salad, also delicious. The drinks were fresh and promptly made and delivered to our table. My husband and I both ordered the grouper dinner with lobster hash and we both loved it. Dinner was so filling we took our key lime pie to-go. Perhaps the best pet of this experience was our friendly, knowledgeable Turkish waiter. He offered excellent insight on menu items and made many recommendations on local activities. This was not a cheap dinner by any means but if are looking for a great dining experience, do not hesitate to make reservations here. read more

FINALLY tried this place! I had been hearing such amazing things and this past weekend my coworkers and I went for their Sunday brunch. We've been going around the town trying all of the brunches and this one is BY far the best. Hot tin comes in close second honestly. The ONLY critique I have is that the food be a little hotter next time. It's buffet style so it's under heat lamps but maybe make the heat lamps a little hotter? I'm not really sure how that works. They had so many options to choose from! Breakfast, lunch AND dessert options. The desserts are like a tiered tower of so many delicious things! I really enjoyed the chimichurri steak bites as well as the sushi! Who would have though sushi and mimosas go together!? Not me! We've been coming to this place for years. The food is always very high quality and the view is fantastic. The reason for my subpar review is that they always seem to be severely understaffed. We were seated right away this morning but sat there for over 10 minutes and never saw a single server. Like nowhere to be found. Lemon pepper mayo for my sister. She lived it. Came with perfectly cooked asparagus and gruyere Mac and cheese - yummy - I finished it for her! VERY Slow service both by wait staff and bar staff. Took almost 15 minutes for our server to great us. Had to clean the bird crap of our own table after ask employees 3 times to please wipe and disinfect the table. Brought food to us that was meant for the table next to us. Once we finally ordered we still did not see our appetizers or salad. after 45 minutes we had enough and expressed to management our displeasure as we walked by him on the way out. If you want to grab dinner by the water in Key West, this is one of the places to do it. I went on my most recent trip and we had a pretty enjoyable dinner! They have a ton of tables so we didn't have to wait, and it was a gorgeous spot to watch the sunset. It is a little pricey, so just be aware of that before you visit. I had the grouper sandwich which was so good, and my friend had the lobster quesadilla... This sucker was loaded with lobster, tomato, caramelized onions, manchego cheese, mango salsa, and cumin sour cream. It was the clear winner of the evening, for sure. A couple of mudslides added to the equation, and it was quite an enjoyable meal! Give it a try if you're craving good food & a stellar sunset view. read more
