    Cajun pasta with prime rib
    Becky B.

I ate in the lounge but they have the full restaurant menu available in there. The lounge is large and is comfortable, plenty of space to hang out with your party. Shout out to Patty, she was an amazing waitress and the meal she recommended was right on point. I had the Cajun pasta with prime rib on top, it was SO good!!! I also ate the buffet breakfast in the restaurant side. service was very good and the biscuits and gravy were much better than your typical hotel buffet fare!

    Thank you Dan!!!

Great food! Menu is a perfect selection of comfort and sustenance. Desert, put your seatbelt on! Thank you Dan for Creme Brûlée Cheesecake. Thank you Heather for making it all happen. You are the best secret in Grand Junction!!!

Buffet breakfast: burnt sausage, cold eggs, potatoes just warmed through, yesterdays rolls not worth the price.

BBQ sounded amazing and I've never had a platter like this before. I couldn't turn down the 3 meat platter to try everything that peaked my interest. Starting with the hush puppies, fried, sweet, and savory. Yum! The brisket was so tender and juicy. The ribs were also tender and fell off the bone. The andouille sausage had cheese throughout it and I felt like it was too oily and fatty from that, but that ended up being my husband's favorite. We devoured the sides too. The beans and mac and cheese were a must. If I had more stomach space I'd eat a dozen more hush puppies. Outdoor seating allows your furiends. Order at the counter and enjoy! And don't forget to try their house bbq sauce.

I really wanted ribs but at 7pm they were all out. Kind of surprising to not be able to get this at a BBQ place but, got the pulled pork meal instead. The pork itself was very well done, and delicious. And really liked that they put all sauces on the side for you to pick and add as much or as little as you want. They have different sides to pick from... mac-n-cheese is usually a must at BBQ restaurants, but I would recommend skipping it here. Not hot, cheesy enough and lacking flavor. The coleslaw, on the other hand, was a great side.

We enjoyed probably the best calamari we've ever had. it was just perfectly cooked!!! For dinner we had the fillet, baked potato and the seventh Street salad..., the fillet was perfectly cooked... and so tender... They actually butcher thrir own meat and it shows,.,,the cut was just perfect and it was worth every penny... the baked potato was so good and and the salad was absolutely delightful enough so that we wanted to do an extra "to go" and bring it home... I also enjoyed a lemon drop martini probably one of the best ones I've ever had. It was just so smooth and I believe that they used fresh lemon juice... It was absolutely perfect as well... Our server was Robert and he was so kind and so interesting. The service was absolutely delightful... They took my cell number in case of any cancellations or other issues. We showed up early for the show, hung around for about 45 minutes, the theatre was dark and we later found out the show was cancelled. My wife looked on Lance Burton's Facebook page, in which he stated in effect " he wasn't sure why he show was cancelled in Grand Junction, but he was here twice before and was disappointed the show was postponed. And if you bought tickets, you can get a refund at the point of purchase." He would be appearing the next night in Santa Fe New Mexico. I responded to the Avalon on Monday August 14th, but the box office was closed. I went back on August 17th and spoke with the woman who was working the box office, explained my situation and concerns, she said she would have to speak with her boss. She later returned and advised me that it was not cancelled, but postponed and I could not ask for a refund until it is rescheduled, then I could come back for a refund. I told her that is unacceptable, get your boss. Another woman, who later identified herself as Heather Velasco, Box Office Manager, she said a similar story, that I would have to come back after the show is rescheduled. I advised her of what Lance Burton said on his Facebook page, and she said "he was supposed to change that." I replied that's not my problem. I want a refund and I want it today! Heather already had my information along with my phone number and said she would get me a refund that day or the next day. I tried contacting her on Friday August 18th, with the phone number she supplied on her business card, which went to voicemail. And as of this review I haven't heard from anyone at the Avalon. So I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company. So I won't be doing business with the Avalon Theater again, why would I want the aggravation of dealing with people who can't or won't do the jobs they were hired to do.
