F6. Fried Natural Chicken with Yuzu Pepper Sauce
    Tiffany S.

Ordered food to go and ate at home. The chicken wasn't worth it, I wish it was better. The spaghetti with crab butter was supposed to be with penne noodles but they did spaghetti. I should've checked the order before I left but I didn't enjoy my experience at the restaurant so I just wanted my food and go home. The crab butter spaghetti though was really good. Like I should've just gotten two ordered of that instead of getting the chicken. I just wish they got the noodles right. Also, I wish there had been more crab meat. You pay about $30 for the dish, you'd expect more than like three small pieces of crab. But like I said, it was actually good. I would probably order it again, if I ever decide to come back. The ambiance wasn't great. The place doesn't look like a place you'd call a bistro with their chicken wire fence and signage. Felt more of a skate park to me when entering and sitting down. I had higher expectations but I had originally came for another reason. I'll see if I give this place another try down the line.

We loved this place the last time we visited. This time I got the uni pasta and an appetizer order of fried lotus root. Delicious on the appetizer! I could eat a whole bowl of these. Service is attentive, ambiance modern. My uni pasta was delicious! Creamy umami flavor. My husband got spaghetti bolognese. This will be one of our go to places for pasta!

This is a very small operation, a small team working a big menu. It is mostly Japanese cuisine in an Italian format of dishes. I got the  squid ink pasta, which was very loaded squid ink in a good way. It was very unctuous and had a great seafood flavor with bits of well-cooked calamari.

We came here after work as a friend recommended since it's fairly hidden. He said it was a Japanese fusion Italian with good drinks. M Bistro Beaux in Torrance is a hidden gem that blends Japanese and Italian flavors beautifully. The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, perfect for a late-night dinner with drinks. Service is attentive, and the menu feels both creative and comforting. A great spot for something different in the South Bay.

Reopened now with pretty much the same menu, except new items on the daily special, such as Oden and Bolognese octopus balls. I think the octopus balls are fried, but nothing wrong with that. I also ordered my favorite sauteed brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar.

Great new find for me in old town Torrance. Have great top shelf alcohol. They have Whiskey samplers which were great to sit down with a friend for a leisurely conversation. It was a sampler of Ballentine's 12, 17 and 30 year. We had already eaten but wanted something to munch on with the whiskey so we ordered their calamari and fried potatoes in truffle oil. Both hit the spot. Buon Appetito

Did not know this little hidden gem was in old Torrance. Found it on Yelp, went it and was pleasantly surprised. Small and intimate, decor was the most interesting part with gates as little partitions. Forgot to snap photos of all the food we ate except for the first one which was nicely fried calamari, that was served very quickly and hot! The cocktail I had had a unique name and I wish I could recall but it was not too sweet, and all of the food we did order (and none of it is shown, we did a good sampling of a variety of things off the menu) was all served with just the right amount of heat, taste, quality, and attention to detail when serving to make sure it all came out at a good pace as you SHOULD expect. I definitely will be back and will catalog my experience next time with photos as it was truly a memorable time at this one delicious and delightful spot!

Such a variety of delicious eats, great to share with friends! Service is good! Not much for ambiance as it feels just like a restaurant bar. I would highly recommend the pizza with mochi and something else. And the mochi with prosciutto, yum! Must get!

This isn't Halloween decor. sign is flashing like a scene from a horror movie, door is boarded up, inside stench of rotten sewage.

The restaurant is spotlessly clean, well-organized, and welcoming--everything feels fresh and well cared for. The food quality is outstanding. Every dish is packed with flavor, clearly made with high-quality ingredients, and tastes authentic and thoughtfully prepared. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy--each bite showed consistency and care. Whether it was the meats, sides, or sauces, everything was on point. What really elevates the experience, though, is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They were happy to answer questions, made great recommendations, and made us feel comfortable the entire time. You can tell they truly care about their customers, not just the service. If you're looking for amazing Korean food, a clean and comfortable environment, and top-tier hospitality, this spot is a must-visit. We'll definitely be coming back--and bringing friends with us. Highly recommend

The main dining room has a decent amount of tables that are relatively close together, and felt like a busy izakaya to me. JEWEL BOX: 3/5. The tempura was definitely the star of the show, the sashimi was just okay, and the rice was not good. It was hard, like it was either stale and old, or there just was not enough enough water. SMALL TEMPURA BOWL: 4/5. The batter was soft. It wasn't bad, but I guess I definitely expected a little more from a place that specializes in tempura. SOBA: 5/5. The soba broth was very clean, light, and refreshing.

Today we decided to revisit the restaurant for old time's sake. Inside, the main wall was repainted with a new mural. The annual LA Marathon posters, pinned by the staff who participated in the events, were also gone. Nonetheless, it retained its traditional izakaya décor with its counter seating alongside some regular tables. The staff were all new but still very courteous and brought the menu and water right away. New items were added but the core dishes remained the same. For this visit, we ordered our regular items and they arrived in 10 minutes: Eboshi Mini Trio with Shio Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza: The fried rice was still top notch, with slightly firm texture, not too oily, and pleasantly seasoned. The Shio Ramen with its clear broth was nicely savory. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chashu pieces were tender. To complement the set, the gyozas with their delicate wraps had nicely burnt bottoms, and flavorful fillings. Champon Ramen: A complex ramen with an assortment of meat, veggies and seafood. There were sliced pork pieces, shrimps, squids, cabbage, onions, snow peas and many more. The clear broth was quite savory and enriched by oil from sauteed ingredients. The noodles had a very nice texture and were a tad al dente. We were amazed that after all these years, the restaurant retained its original taste and flavor. We found out the reason why while exiting the restaurant: The young cook from two decades ago is now running the open kitchen as head chef. Great food and still reasonable prices. It was totally worth revisiting.

The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan.
