Delicious good and a great atmosphere. I've gone a couple of times and the staff is always friendly and quick. Great menu and a nice place for family meals or work dinners. It's convenient near my job so I can go with my coworkers to relax and just enjoy the food. The first time I went, I had the Poisson Acadian which is one of my favorite cajun dishes and they did it so well. I would recommend trying all the dishes and try the bar. read more

We came here for Valentine's Day dinner. We made a 7:30 reservation and arrived about 10 mins early. They were able to seat us when we got there. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. The host was very friendly. I loved how the tables were lighted by candles. And they didn't crowd the tables together. Our waiter greeted us and was very friendly as well. I was undecided between the creole pot roast and the catfish. So I asked the waiter his opinion and he told me the pot roast was very good and one of the more popular items. So I went with that. It looks like a big mess when it arrives, but it was delicious! The pot roast was so tender and smothered in a creole gravy. It also came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were good. I wasn't a fan of the green beans though. My boyfriend got the seared tuna. It came with broccoli. It looked very pretty. We were satisfied with our food. For dessert we both got the cookie crumble parfait. So good! It was vanilla ice cream with cookie crumbles, fudge and caramel sauce! We left full and happy! read more

Came for lunch with a friend on a Friday. Super cute bustling, bistro atmosphere. Very laid back but wonderful service. Justin was our waiter and recommended everything we ordered. We skipped the appetizers bc of time and went straight to the entrees. I had the cassoulet- white beans, Tasso ham and chicken and duck sausage- which I devoured. The white beans were creamy and the ham and sausage added so much flavor and a little spice. My friend had the Poisson Acadiana, which was featured on the Food Network show, Burgers, Brew & Que. it's a classic Cajun dish of catfish filets , rice and crawfish ettouffe. She enjoyed it and even had a small to go box. The dessert I would go back just to get a double dish of the king cake bread pudding. It was everything. Followed that up with beaucoup burger substituting mashed potatoes for frites (at no up charge!). I ordered the burger medium rare and it came out well. Not even medium, well. Even so the burger was good and well seasoned. The bun was horrible. It was so dry pieces just crumbled off of it. I liked the mashed potatoes and gravy but they were a bit gluey. I kind of like my potatoes like that but not sure others would appreciate the texture. I'm starting to hate the Yelp! star rankings. Can not say enough about Bistro Byronz 's Perkins! We recently had a baby shower in two of their party rooms! We went in not knowing what to serve our guest, but after a meeting with Tanya, viewing the space, and listening to her recommendations, we were set. The day of the event they made us feel so welcome. The food was spot on and absolutely delicious! Our in room waiter! Thomas, was so sweet and accommodating! He keep the event going, from popping champagne and serving mimosas to busing tables and keeping the flow of the party going! So I went to lunch with my BFF who drove down from New Orleans. I suggested Bistro Byronz because I heard great things about this place. It was a solid place and the meal was great. I will say that I loved the decor and the drinks were strong and good. I had the fried catfish with Etoufee and we shared the Spinach and Artichoke dip. Went eat here today after almost a year. I come for the carrot soufflé because it's amazing. Today I decided on hummus and then the hamburger steak with creamed spinach and carrot soufflé. The soufflé lime always was delicious, the creamed spinach (btw it has artichokes in it) was unseasoned and okay, nothing special. The let down was the hamburger steak, it was severely over cooked, chewy and had no flavor what so ever, the only good thing was the onion and gravy on top. After 3 bites I scrapped the top and just ate the onions and gravy. I'm only giving a 3 star bc The server was amazing and the soufflé was great. Hummus was also good, nothing too special about it but it was good. The place should really make sure the food is good and presentable. Although I heard so many good reviews, this experience was very eh. Let's start with the pros: nice ambience, no wait time and great menu offerings with affordable prices. Cons: Our waitress was very slow attending to our table even though there was barely anyone in the place, we order an appetizer and it never came. I ordered the Creole Shrimp Pasta and it was very oily. I literally got a stomach ache after eating it. Also, I specifically asked for no tomatoes and still had tomatoes in both my salad and pasta. Seriously fantastic lunch! I've always like the other location fine. The food is solidly good, but nothing exceptional. I don't know if it's because of this location or what we ordered, but they were on fire on Friday. The seafood salad was large and flavorful. The thin cut fried catfish gives Middendorf's a run for their money . However the star of the show and all meals out this summer is their creamed spinach! I could just live my life only eating that and be a happy girl. It was actually better than Ruth's Chris' creamed spinach and I didn't think that was possible. DO NOT ORDER FRIED FRENCH DIP. I love a good French dip sandwich. They deep fried the whole sandwich. It was terrible. Two of us got it. The other person sent it back for a cup of gumbo. I tried to eat mine. 1/4 of the way I gave up. The manager came and asked if the gumbo was ok, which it was, but when I told him the sandwich was awful, he just walked away. So I paid full price for 1/4 of an awful sandwich. Another at our table ordered the Parmesan fried chicken and dumplings, which has always been good. This time it was barely edible. I don't know what's going on there, but I won't be back. I'll go to the one on Government and hope it stays as good as always been. read more

My first time to eat here so did not know what to expect. Menu and wine list offer a large variety at moderate prices. The signature Byronz salad was great and came with meal at no charge. My meal was the Sesame Seared Tuna. I ordered it rare and it came out beautiful and had a cool center as rare tuna should be. The portion was quite large and came with a broccoli side and garnished with ginger and Wasabi. The taste of the Byronz salad was great and the tuna dish was even better. My review is based on only one meal, but I will certainly return for more. Nice antique decor and not too noisy. Would not describe as intimate. Staff and service was great. I don't know what took me so long to try Bistro Byronz! I went for brunch yesterday and enjoyed everything. The atmosphere is extremely inviting and I especially love the jazz music playing through the speakers. The menu is full of great options and the prices are very reasonable. Started the meal off with a frozen mimosa which was refreshing. I had the Pousson Acadiana and my friend had the Creole Pot Roast. The Poisson Acadiana was crawfish etoufee with fried fish. It was so good, the etoufee was perfect. My friend enjoyed her pot roast but had to add a little salt. We ended our meal by sharing dessert, the mini Heavenly Chocolate Supreme. It was the best balanced dessert, they were out of ice cream so replaced it with whipped cream but that was fine because it complimented the dessert. My wife and I come here once every couple of months since this location opened and have had mixed results. The food is nearly always good, service is hit or miss, and ambiance is much better during non-peak hours. Overall, closer to a 3.5 than a 3. My favorite dish is the steak frites, which is an excellent cut of meat cooked perfectly to order with thin cut fries for only $18. You'll get a five star meal if you order this! The chicken avocado BLT is my second favorite... it is an awesome option if you're looking for a lighter option. I've also ordered the blue cheese chips several times with wildly inconsistent results. Sometimes they're delicious but other times the chips feel a bit stale and the cheese is sparse. I've tried each of the poboys (shrimp is good, the rest are so-so). The "back of the stove" chicken is pretty dry, certainly not something I'd order again. The sesame encrusted tuna salad is tasty but you don't get very much tuna for the price. I've ordered dessert a few times and the results have been meh. I have a massive sweet tooth so that's probably not a good sign for RT average dessert eater. They had a seasonal Blueberry Bread Pudding once that was excellent thigh! I recommend trying this place during non-peak hours so your drinks and food will likely come out at a more reasonable pace. If you have to come during peak hours, make a reservation so you don't have to wait. read more

UPDATE: I had previous reviewed this location higher than this, but my last experience there was so disappointing and I'm saddened by it. I had a friend in town from Michigan and I wanted to impress her with some great local cuisine, I automatically thought Bistro Byronz for Saturday lunch. Upon arrival, the hostess seated us at a table near the bathroom. There was a foul smell near our table and we never had a server come greet us during the five minutes we sat there. I understand the bathroom was right there, so we took it upon ourselves to walk to the hostess to as if we could move. We explained why and we were very nice and apologized that we didn't want her to think we were being "those people" and that we understood it was the bathroom. She just kind of looked at us when we asked her if we could move and responded "ummm". It wasn't busy at all. There were plenty of open tables, so we just proceeded to sit at the bar and relocate ourselves. There were three other people currently sitting at the bar and it took the bartender several minutes to come over and greet us. When she did, she didn't even say anything. She put menus in front of us and walked off. She eventually came back and I asked her if they currently had Frosé. She replied saying they didn't and she told me which frozen drinks they did have. I ordered one. My friend with me needed an extra minute so when she came back with my drink, my friend ordered a mimosa. Several minutes went by and the mimosa was not there, the bartender was busy stocking wine and doing something at the register. I finally flagged her down and asked her for the mimosa. She then brought it. We asked if we could order and we ordered the tuna wrap and shrimp salad with feta on the side. The salad came out with feta on it and we had to send it back. Not a huge deal, but the experience was unpleasant to begin with. The food wasn't as stellar per usual. Just average. We asked for our check and she brought it and didn't say thank you or apologize for the food being incorrect. The bartenders name was "Jasmine" or "Jasamine" according to the receipt. Overall, I was embarrassed to have talked up the establishment in a huge way and then have a bad experience with my out of town guest. It pains me to write this because I have always loved this spot.
