This used to be my favorite restaurant. I quietly sit at the bar and eat, don't bother anyone and tip well. Tonight I ordered the Trout Almandine. If you eat with your eyes first, it looked terrible when it arrived. The fish is folded over and plopped on top of the sides. All the almandine just falls into the mashed potatoes and gets embedded there. I asked for an extra plate please and it was brought. The bartender asked if I wanted the dish re-made and I said no and was eating. All of the sudden I was completely embarrassed by a manager so had to get up and leave my dinner on the bar. I didn't complain, I didn't make a fuss, but a fuss was made anyway. READ THE ROOM PEOPLE. And serve the trout almandine open with the almonds on it, with out the bones running down the center. read more

Really fancy place and was really impressed with the service and the attire of all the staff. I really try not to give bad ratings, but this place was somewhat a disappointment. It looks super fancy from outside or even first glance inside. However, there was a weird smell to the place that kind of smelt like a wet rag, also, the food was just not my taste. I got the Tagliatelle and it was very bland. My friend got the French pizza and it smelled a lot like the wet rag I described earlier, so I'm wondering if it was cheese, unsure, but overall the meal was not in line with my taste. The reason for my poor rating is also the fact that there was a fly flying around my table and it landed in my food (see picture), so that along with the taste of the food, it was simply not worth the expensive price of the meal. read more

Came here for dinner with a friend and there was such a nice Parisian feel to the restaurant. The waitress was so great and gave us incredible recommendations. They also provide complimentary bread and butter which was sooo good. We had the tartar and truffle mushroom tarte as an appetizer. The flavors were so fresh and memorable. I wasn't expecting Bistro Niko to be such a vibe during the holidays. We had lunch reservations on Christmas Eve and it was gloriously festive and decorated throughout. The service was lovely and the ambiance was mid-level of loud and lively. We ordered the Maine scallops with mashed potatoes and steak frites. I really enjoyed both dishes, the scallops were delicious and the steak frites cooked medium were tender and served with a side of pate and crisp french fries. He enjoyed the dishes as well but mentioned the mashed potatoes were too salty. We finished off the lunch with a warm apple tarte and scoop of cinnamon ice cream. Melt in your mouth deliciousness! Came here for a birthday brunch last weekend, as a backup and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was live music playing. We asked the waiter for recommendations, per usual. I went with the crispy duck confit with potatoes and salad and my friend went with the petit filet mignon benedict. We had wine and aperol spritz to pair with our brunch meals. The warm bread on the table was definitely the highlight for me. Bistro Niko is a pretty awesome high end French restaurant in the middle of Buckhead. It's easy to find and has validated two hour parking in the deck. We came for a birthday dinner as well as for the super cute Christmas decorations and festive pop up bar, and were not disappointed! They have quite a few options for their pop up and I got the spiked egg nog. It could have been a little stronger, but was still great to sip on. For my entree I had the duck cooked medium over red cabbage, and potatoes, topped with mandarins. The duck was super tender, flavorful, and I loved the sauce that came with it. The cabbage was pretty good too, and the potatoes were nice and crisp. For dessert, the complimentary birthday dessert cream puffs were as good as the rest of the meal. Overall, the food was great! Went to bistro niko yesterday to meet one of my partners family members! The service and the food was outstanding. For drink i got the nouvelle vie which was a fresh gin cocktail, not too sweet not too acidic. It was so refreshing! For food, my partner is gluten free and he had sooo many options to choose from. Both him and his aunt got the fresh trout from a georgia which came with potatoes and green beans! They both absolutely devoured it. I got the chicken bourgeoisie! everything was delicious! The only reason giving 4 stars and not 5 is because we were sat near a window and we were incredibly hot during the whole dinner. Also i wish they had better bathrooms. I've dined here several times for lunch and dinner and I always have a positive experience. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the food is always tasty. The outdoor patio definitely gives Parisian vibes when the weather is nice. My go-tos are the escargot for starters, and the croque monsieur (may not be on the menu but they will make it for you). I also like the roasted chicken and the burger is divine! I recently had the french onion soup and wasn't a fan, way too much cheese! The service here is phenomenal! Every server is attentive and tuned in to your needs. It makes the experience pleasant and comforting! I also like the open kitchen aspect and being able to see what's being made. Having dinner here at about 6pm on a Saturday was busy but having a reservation makes it a breeze! We started with the lump crab cake as suggested but our waitress and it was so good! Buttery yet light. No bready bits, truly just crab. I like the french style roasted chicken but could have used a bit more salt to me. Other than that the I loved the crunchy veggies on top and the succulent mushrooms. We just had an excellent dinner at Bistro Niko. Their steak and frites we're absolutely top-notch. I had the Prime NY Sirloin Strip & Frites with béarnaise sauce and both my kids had the Ribeye Steak Maitre d'Hotel Butter & Frites. The steak was exceptionally tender and juicy and the fries were made just right. My wife also greatly enjoyed the Mountain Trout Almondine. For appetizers we ordered the Mushroom & Truffle Essence Tarte, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, and the Crisp Duck Leg Confit. They were all wonderful, specially the duck confit. To top it off, for dessert we ordered the Profiteroles and the Crème Brulée. Both were divine! We also appreciated the courteous service and inviting ambiance. We'll be returning soon! I have dined at Bistro Niko about a dozen times, including twice during the pandemic. The quality of the food is generally strong, and I really enjoy the ambiance - both inside and out. It seems to be the only Buckhead Life restaurant within direct proximity of Lenox Square; the rest are generally southwest - closer to the Shops at Buckhead area. The food during this most recent visit was again strong, though I'll acknowledge that, to an extent, reality deviated expectations. We were told about a special dish...a ratatouille...that caught my interest. However, it should have been explicitly described as a pizza...because that's what it is. The "ratatouille" topping (essentially just tomatoes) was somewhat scarce. For the trout dish, we asked in advance to remove the butter, but the server told us it doesn't have any butter anyway. When the dish came out, it was blatantly obvious that the trout was doused in abnormal amounts of butter, so when we brought this up to the server, she went to consult with the kitchen, who informed her that there is indeed butter in the trout. She then proceeded to get us a new order of the trout without butter...which we appreciated. We also appreciated that they were able to replace side portion of that dish to our liking (substituted green beans for quinoa). The chilled gazpacho was excellent. Really enjoyed it...though $12 seems a bit on the pricy side. I enjoyed it regardless. Given the summer backdrop, we tried out their trio of sorbets. While the flavors were certainly interesting to us, they had just way too much sugar. I know that the sugar content for sorbet can be high...but this was overkill. We were unable to finish even half of that sorbet trio. I felt like I was about to suddenly contract Type 2 diabetes in a matter of minutes. All in all...I do recommend Bistro Niko, and many of the dishes are exquisite. But make sure you go in knowing (as is typically the case with French food) that this won't be a healthy meal unless you deliberately structure it as such. read more

Overall food was good. My favorite was the appetizer. I also really enjoyed ÎLE FLOTANTE dessert. It is definitely unique and haven't tried anywhere else before. I could taste the French culture cuisine in both the appetizers & desert. However the Burger taste like any other Burger. Seafood pasta was good however it had a little strong fishy aftertaste. The environment was very pretty. My friend got proposed here during Christmas time so I wanted to go try it out. During Christmas time they have holiday lights wrap around the restaurant. The drinks can be over price spent $19 for a margarita. The service was quick and easy. I had the pork cutlet today and it was terrible. It was supposed to come with a breading and lemon caper sauce, sounded amazing. I got a dry sauce free breaded cutlet that took several glasses of water to consume but became inedible. I was with a birthday group so I couldn't complain. That's disappointment #1. Then I ordered the creme brûlée for desert and it had the consistency of scrambled eggs. I couldn't even finish it, it was so disappointing. Bistro Niko was less than okay for me. Excellent service, nice ambiance, but the menu selection was just okay. My shrimp pasta had a taste of dish liquid. Not saying there was dish liquid in the pasta, but it just didn't taste right and could have used more seasoning for certain. They were extra hospitable and offered a few times to make something different, but I was okay didn't feel drawn to anything else on the menu. Nonetheless, my husband thought his food was decent and finished his dish. When asked if he would return, his words were "it's not on the top of my list, but if I had too, I might try them one more time." So I always pass by this place and when my bestie and I were trying to figure out a spot for brunch and we ended up here. Ok first off the decor and vibes totally made us both feel like we were in Europe! It was such a nice change especially since I've been itching to travel! Totally gave me Paris cafe vibes! I loved it! The food was also really good! I had the Minute Hanger Steak and Scrambled Eggs which was good. The meat was a tad burnt but it wasn't terrible. My friend got the French Onion Soup which I tried and it was so yummy! Totally hit the spot on a cold morning. We shared the Seasonal Mushroom Tarte (pizza) and OMG this was DELICIOUS!!! Navigating the menu wasn't very hard, a few dishes I was unfamiliar with, but who isn't a fan of Google anyways?! Settled on the Bronzino and was a little let down. According to the photos I saw here on yelp, most people received a larger portion than I. The fish was cooked perfection with a nice crispy skin. It was laid a top a bed of wilted spinach which I personally felt was saturated in too much butter. Flavor was good and accompanied with three small fingerling potatoes. the portion was pretty small overall. Overall, our party seemed pleased with their food choices. Ambience was 10/10. Such a big restaurant and so well decorated for Christmas. The escargot and tuna tartare are very good appetizers to start with. We had a party of 5 and ordered 5 different entrees to share. The skate wing was sub par, the steak is what you'd expect out of a good steak, the duck breast was okay, the sea bass was absolutely delicious so was the side of creamed spinach. The chicken fell off the bone and the skin was crispy and delicious. The French onion soup was also amazing and me and my partner shared it as an appetizer. It had a lot of cheese! The cheese puffs tasted like gourmet cheezits with a soft pillowy texture. The chocolate mousse was amazing and we also got another desert called Île flottante that I didn't get a picture of but it was soooo good it tasted like a toasted marshmallow with a sweet cream sauce topped with crunch almond flakes. My partner got the au poivre burger and the brandied pepper aioli sauce that comes on it was to die for. Super crunchy and had a deep flavor. The ambience was also very romantic and felt very well put together. I asked for an extra spoon and the waiter presented it to me on a silver platter (I'm not joking!). Bathrooms were super clean and they aren't gendered it's just 3 private bathrooms with locks. Overall bistro Niko was an amazing night out with my partner for less than $100. I enjoyed everything about Bistro Niko when I was there for dinner recently. The food was delicious! I had the cajun chicken with fries...excellent! The service was great (although the hostess ignored us for about five minutes while she spoke with someone on the phone. She didn't acknowledge us, not even to say she would be with us soon. I came here for lunch on a Thursday. First piece of advice, make sure you Valet (especially if you're already hungry). The parking garage is always full. After going through the hunger games to find a parking space. I found one, went inside and was greeted by the manager (I'm assuming). Very pleasant. I was seated immediately. There were a lot of business meetings happening over lunch. It was pretty noisy but not too loud. Seating is pretty standard; no 6 ft rule. The one thing I didn't care for is that quite a few people weren't wearing masks on the staff. But... that's the environment we live in. My waiter was honest, new, and also pleasant. He suggested the scallops as you see in the photo. Excellent choice. Also the appetizer, the smoked salmon spread was an EXCELLENT choice. Loved it. The scallops are the best I have ever had I think. When I first walked in I remember thinking the interior was very red (the booths are all red). Great bread. The Coq au Vin was the best I had in recent memory and the crème brûlée was superb.
