Note: I got this delivered. I got back from a lake day with my family and had a very specific craving for a Italian sandwich. I pulled up uber eats and this was the highest rated sandwich option. I got the "mama mia" and subbed the pesto with aioli. The sandwich was incredible and extremely flavorful. It was a little messy to eat but that's on me. The meat paired with the bread and vegetables excellently. It definitely sated the craving I had. I also got the potato salad which was not to my taste as it was a little sweet. Wow. Just. Wow. I came to this little shop after studying the menu online. First thing I noticed was just how small this little shop was! When I entered, we were promptly greeted with a lot of energy. Awesome vibes leaves me happy. I love Gouda, and got the Gouda good. Which was amazing. They give a good amount of meat, sauce, and veggies, all in a perfectly toasted Dutch Crunch. They have a pretty extensive menu for such a small shop. I would give this place a 4.5, but I rounded up because of how good the sandwich was. Why the minus half star? Well... with a sandwich that good... I just want to sit down and eat it right away. There is no seating there, so you gotta take it to go! Boooo There's a small counter on the side, good for one maybe two people tops, but there were three of us, which was definitely a no go. Update: since the owner has thankfully explained to his staff, I haven't had a wrong order since. I still love the firecracker + jalapeños. I also recently tried the Caribbean + jalapeños on sourdough as another reviewer recommended, which was SO GOOD. It's a little too easy to order bite now that they deliver on Ubereats and I find myself getting their Cobb salad all the time now. Very good Deli. Not cheap, but hi-quality. Open Late. Good wraps salads and and sandwiches of course. Most of the staff are great (but it can vary shift to shift) It can get pretty busy at lunch and dinner esp now with all the delivery services. Gross and disappointing. Ordered a roast beef with lettuce tomato sprouts extra onions extra mustard and mayo on sourdough. What I got? NOT that! Burnt bread and I did not request it toasted. No sprouts and soggy lettuce ( I hate my sandwiches toasted because of the wilted lettuce that results). A couple little pieces of onion.. this thing looks nothing like the amazing looking sandwiches on the other yelp reviews. I wont be back. Read the owner/ manager reply and I'm disappointed. This is literally the best tuna sandwich I've had in the entire city. I'm pescetarian so I have a whole lot of tuna sandwiches. I'm not saying I've tasted every darn tuna sandwich in SF but this is by FAR the BEST one I've had yet. Let's start with the dutch crunch bread: OMG. SO delicious. Amazingly soft, tasty but with some crunch to it. And then the tuna: SO TASTY...the perfect tuna salad. I don't know what they did there, but it's freaking great. Talking about it right now.... I just literally want one asap. Get in my mouth nowwww. I forget the name of the sandwich but it's your basic tuna salad sandich with lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese on dutch crunch bread. They didn't have onions which is my fave. I got the Caribbean and it was a tuna salad sandwich and oh my god it was SO dry. It didn't help that it didn't have onions and it could have used a lot more sauce. I also got the Kitchen Sink and that was better than the tuna sandwich as it was moist and packed with several types of sandwich meats. The portions are huge! You could share one sandwich between 2 people. I was full off of one half. I also got a potato salad, which didn't taste much different from your average grocery's potato salad. When they called for my order, they forgot I ordered a potato salad and I had to remind them. I also asked for jalapeños and they didn't put it on either of my sandwiches. I also didn't realize till I got to the car that they didn't give me pickles :-( (my favorite). I honestly would not come here again but I'm glad I could to try it for myself. read more

Substantial, delicious sandwicb. No frills walk-in joint. This is a small restaurant. We waited in line for about 5 minutes. You place your order on an order sheet - or at least we did because we ordered three sandwiches. We got the sandwiches - Firecracker, Cubabo, and make your own with ham, salami, and cheddar. We also got chips and root beers. The sandwiches are made fresh so there will be a short wait. My kids loved their sandwiches so extra points for the thumbs up from both kids. There is seating outside but it's limited. We were able to sit but we went in late afternoon. We really enjoyed this unpretentious gem in San Francisco. The sandwiches were fabulous. read more

I ordered a petit Robert which is composed of basically ham and cheese! and what I got is turkey and cheese! I'm allergic to turkey and when I confronted the guy about their mistake he basically said that it was ham and that I was lying and told me to get out??? what? really bad service. Choose bread, meat, cheese, dressing and other options. *Bread: Sourdough Roll *Dressings / Spreads: Spicy Sauce *Meats: Chicken (+$1) *Cheese: Fresh Mozzarella (+$1) *Produce: Button Mushrooms, Sprouts, Artichoke Hearts *Other Options: Pickles, Jalapeno I like a lot of stuff on my sandwiches, so I was wishing they let us pick more than one option per category. (The only exception was the produce and other options. Not sure if this is a Forkable constraint or a Bite one though.) I was debating between the Gobbler and the Gouda Good, but both sandwiches had ingredients I didn't really want, so I decided to make my own sandwich. I really wanted either turkey or chicken AND bacon, but I settled on just the chicken since I could only pick one meat. The chicken was a touch dry, but the sandwich itself was super saucey, so that gave it a little moisture. I did find the spicy sauce a little one note. Kinda wished I could also get the pepperhouse sauce to give it a little dimension. The veggies didn't help much as they were drenched in spicy sauce. The sandwich itself was huge! I don't really eat much bread, so I took about two bites with the bread and just ate the rest of the filling. Even without the bread, I was stuffed! Great place if you like big heavy sandwiches. Love this place so much when in need of a good meaty sandwich! I only live a block away so it is also very convenient. The service is amazing and they are always very helpful to get your order correct! I always get the gobbler exactly how it is made and each time it is delicious. I did however order, for the first time, a build it yourself sandwich and I was very disappointed. I ordered it through Yelp and the process was very simple and straight forward. But little did I know I would have to type in the "more comments" section of the ordering menu to include condiments and lettuce, mayo, etc. which did not come on my sandwich as expected. The sandwich was also very dry and bland (probably because of the no condiments or sauces on it.) The build it yourself experience I had will not have me think twice about going to Bite. Bite is my go-to late night (big) bite spot in the Tendernob. This little sandwich shop is always packed, open late, and offers a great variety of sandwiches and salads at decent prices. I live right in the area so whenever I am hungry late I know I can always come here and get something that I enjoy and will fill me right up. Bite offers everything from turkey, roast beef, ham, chicken, veggie, and even peanut butter & Jelly for the kiddies. For sides they have Kettle Potato chips, and various juices/water. Service here is always friendly and quick. It can get pretty busy around dinner time and there is usually only one guy making the food so be patient. I usually go for the veggie sandwich which is full of hummus, mushrooms, peppers, avocado and red onions. My fiancé has gotten a lot of the meat varieties and the sandwich is always packed full of ingredients you defiantly get your money's worth.
