This place has sandwiches for like 8 bucks which is very solid. The sandwiches are definitely better than Subway. It is quite filling, but it does like like 5 minutes to make a sandwich. They ran out of rotisserie chicken for sandwiches when I was there at 10 pm, but they still sold the chicken whole. That was a little disappointing, but I couldn't complain about the sandwich. Pretty decent little sandwich shop in Nob Hill. I've only ever gotten the Gooda Good sandwich, but it's always delivered. Bite is such a solid spot for sandwiches. I find myself there more often than actually making other choices locally for lunch and sometimes dinner. I'm commonly a Gigolo fan w/o the roasted tomatoes. Pretty much my go to but at this point... I've had probably 80% of the sandwich menu and I haven't been let down yet. My GF loves the salads too. Couldn't hope for more in a sandwich shop! I came here with my sister on a Sunday afternoon. We were roaming the low nob for a place to pick up a sandwich and then head to a park to sit and eat since it was a beautiful sunny day in the city! The food rocked! I got the vegetarian bite and my sister got the last night's turkey dinner. Both were awesome. Mine however had hummus, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, pickles, onions, marinated mushrooms...oh man, what a treat. After we walked up some hills to get to the park we were stopped by another group on a park bench wondering where we got the excellent looking sandwiches :) we directed them your way. Nice neighborhood deli! The first time I went in, the kid at the counter was a bit off-putting but service since has been great. I love the make-your-own sandwich forms. I love just telling them what I want, without the weird looks, repeated orders, and judgment (real or imagined!). Last time we were in, we were waiting for our sandwiches and talking about how we should try the horseradish cheddar next time we came in. DELICIOUS sandwiches. The only reason I take one star off is because they're pretty slow, despite never being all that busy and usually having 3 people working in a pretty small shop. I've never ordered anything but the Day After Thanksgiving sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like. Add jalapeños to your sandwich for some extra spice and you won't be let down. We needed something quick bite between HH and comedy show, so we pre-ordered some sandwiches to pick up. (Good thing cuz place is just an order counter) - Gouda Good: Rotisserie Chicken (they subbed in Turkey since their chicken had run out), Gouda Cheese, Pepperhouse Sauce on Dutch Crunch. --- really really good. sandwich was huge too. I think with rotisserie chicken it would have been even better. - Tree Sitter: Sprouts, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Avocado, Eggs, Fresh Mozzarella, Honey Mustard on Rye Bread. --- we rarely eat just veggie sandwiches but this version is so loaded full of stuff you don't miss the meat. the honey mustard gives it a touch of sweetness that is a nice surprise. Bite is like "the one that got away". Reasons being that I don't eat there anymore because of our long-distance relationship and the fact that she never wanted to open a sister Bite in NYC. So now I forever think about that creamy Gouda drizzling down the flanks of rotisserary chicken with seasoned sliced tomatoes blanketing from on top. Or the way the avocado melted into the Dutch crunch crust leaving me feeling full and happy. My mouth is seriously watering right now. I literally ate a sandwich from here at least 4 times a week. I'm no sandwhich connoisseur, but this is definitely one of the best sandwhichs i have ever had. This place gets constant business and it is very busy, i reccomend calling in- which iknow sounds strange for a sandwhich but it beats waiting for 20-30min. It looks like a hidden gem but trust, it's a gem that for some reason basically everyone knows about. It's small, more seating outside than inside which isn't saying much. This place is literally right next to where i've been living for the past year and i have never been in but always wanted to- glad i went. Got the Gouda Good. Sandwhichs are bigger than they look. Could use more gouda as you cannot really taste it and it's named after it so you should. The pepper sauce has a really nice spice in it and the dutch roll is very nice as well. I ended up at Bite, since it was one of the only places open at 1 a.m. on a Sunday night. While there were a few other groups of people congregating in the small space, I was pretty much able to order right away. The employees were nice and joked around a bit with me, which added to the "late night" feel. I got the Gouda Good Sandwich with extra Aioli and Spicy Sauce on the side. The sandwich came with gouda and freshly roasted chicken and was baked à la Ike's. While the combo was good, I found the bread a bit thick and tough and had to douse it in the (garlic) aioli. (Perhaps I came in too late?) That said, it was pretty satisfying and I'll probably be back next time I find myself in SF late at night. Best sandwich shop in town, hands down. It's only two blocks up from my apartment which is mega convenient, but they honestly just make insanely delicious sandwiches. I also ways get the Vinny Bag of Donuts, while the boyfriend explores a bit more and tries other varieties. But legit, whenever we have someone in town visiting or have a friend in the neighborhood, we grab a bite from here. They also make whole rotisserie chickens, which I have to admit I haven't tried yet, but they look and smell amazing from just beyond the counter, and they're less than $12. They don't deliver, and there is only some limited room to sit and eat outside, but grabbing something from this place is never a bad decision. read more

Definitely one of the better sub sandwiches I've had in town, but I never seem to go back because -- at least during normal hours -- there are just much better sandwich options in the neighborhood. Bite has limited seating, only a few beverage options (mostly bottled), and probably more choices than they can credibly juggle in such a small kitchen. How fresh can your BBQ be when it's one of over twenty options? They also only seem to offer "to go" even for their own tables (which are outside), so you can be stuck having your "plate" blow around. But, more than any other reason, I just think there are better neighborhood options. read more

My favorite sandwich place to order sandwiches to pick up in SF that is open late until 2am. Order time is 10 minutes to make a sandwich. The names for the sandwich options are comical. If you are on a gluten free diet, request the sandwich to be made on sourdough bread. Each sandwich is nicely wrapped and cut in half. Any one of the sandwiches are nicely made and you can randomly pick anything off menu and expect a good sandwich. read more

Hit or miss. I noticed that it depends on whether or not the boss lady is working. My Cobb salad, when she's not there, has a ton of white meat chicken. The portions are amazing the prices are reasonable and the staff is helpful. Plus they are open till like 3am and willing serve you no matter how bad the decision is that you are making after the club or the bar. The wraps are bomb and you have to keep going back to try the different sandwiches on the big board. I love the ones with cracked pepper turkey or Gouda cheese. You can also make your own sandwiches if theirs don't fit your taste. In a city that is mostly devoid of great sandwiches, Bite is a standout. The tiny shop is easy to miss, but for those that persevere it's well worth the walk from Union Square. The New York New York sandwich with pastrami, bacon, and Swiss cheese on sourdough was perfect. The meat was cooked to the right level of doneness, the toppings were delicious without being so voluminous as to squirt out the sides of the sandwich, and the bread was toasted so that it was crunchy, but not burned. The Rotisserie chicken sandwich was tender and tasty. Stacked almost a mile high, the seven meat layered was large enough to be easily shared by two. Great sandwiches on toasty fresh bread with straight-from-the-market ingredient at a fair price and a lolly pop for dessert. How great is that?! read more

I went with my husband on vacation to San Francisco and wanted to experience the best food. Not the fanciest but the best tasting and it didn't matter where we had to travel to. After searching on Yelp for a lunch spot the other day I came across this gem of a place. I read many reviews and realized the Gouda Good was the most popular choice and most raved about. Boy, they weren't kidding. The sauce and chicken along with the specialty bread made this sandwich to die for. The chicken was not dry at all and that Gouda, wow! I only wish there was a spot like this in LA. But I will be coming back next year, and making a stop here. The spot is really small and only has outside seating. We sat outside and ate half of the sandwich. When we got back to the hotel room and finished the other half, I didn't even have to warm it up and still tasted amazing. Great Sandwich! read more

I was initially drawn to this place by the pictures. A lot of times the food doesn't look like the pictures, however I was not disappointed. I am very picky about my sandwiches and I like a lot of meat. Most places are a lot of bread. The kitchen sink has 7 kinds of meat and this delicious peppercorn dressing on Dutch crunch bread. It also had horseradish cheddar which I've never had. Delicious!!! Easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and worth every penny of the $14.99 price, especially since it was so big I made 2 meals out of it. I'm already planning my next order! This place makes some of the best sandwiches on Nob Hill. "The gobbler" is a must with turkey, bacon, avocado, and crumbled bleu cheese. I also highly recommend the "Kitchen Sink" with 7 meats.
