You can never go wrong with a BJ's. Stopped in here for a late lunch with some out of town guests. We were looking for a cold beer and a good meal. BJ's as always delivered on both. Our waitress was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I had the chicken tacos, and they were very tasty. Some of the other dishes at the table were parmesan encrusted chicken and broccoli and burgers. The broccoli was super disappointing and had no flavor not even salt. So I am starting a whole new set of reviews based on TO GO services. This whole Covid19 thing has limited dining..but it should not limit quality. I was grateful for BJs being open later than most other restaurants. However I was greatly disturbed by some of the I consistences. The most important problem I had was Frozen Chicken/super cold chicken. I ordered a chicken over rice pilaf dish, and the chicken was stone cold ( must have been ore frozen) after a long night I didn't feel like complaining since the other food was edible. I specifically asked for no spicy items or spices on my sides , my veggies were laced with a spicy seasoning I can not identify. The ribs were cooked well not great but he'll for this pandemic I'll take it. I am giving this place a 3 (should be a two ) only because the person who helped me was so nice and accommodating, and everything was clean, and peaceful. Support them but do complain if something is incorrect. I realized that as a supportive customer in a pandemic, the we shouldn't accept a lower quality of food. read more

I think BJ's on Mopac has the best deep dish pizza around... it has become our favorite place to get pizza especially when they have Half priced large pizza. And BJ's favorite is our first choice ... atmosphere is nice, service is good , and servers are friendly read more

I have a weekly event that ends around 9pm on a weekday and this place is close by. They're open until 12am, so we've been coming here for the past 3 months on a weekly basis. Food is fine, no complaints there. The service is consistently the absolute worst. We always order drinks (2-4 people in the party every time) and more times than not, our food is brought out before our drinks. We mostly order beer, but a pizza will come out before our beers. I've noticed that the drinks are at the bar sitting while we wait for them. Recently, after about 10 minutes of seeing them there and watching our server just hang out, I went and asked if I could take them. They asked what table, I pointed and told them and they let me take our drinks to our table. We would also order more drinks, but when it takes 20 minutes to get a beer, we give up and don't want to stay hoping we get the beer before the check. Again, the food is fine. No complaints. But the table service is the absolute worst. We came in and waited to see if the server we had the past 3 weeks was there, we saw him and ate at the bar. The bar service was great. He was attentive, friendly and we got all of our drinks and food within a reasonable amount of time. Every time we have a server, it's just miserable. The most recent time, we ordered pot stickers and entrées. We received our meals and they gave us the pot stickers after we finished our main dishes. They claimed that it just took awhile. At that point we didn't even want them anymore. We still paid and tipped 20%, but it's been a consistently terrible experience. Again, bar service has been great the few times we've opted for that. But, we'd like to sit at a table and just get relatively normal service. I get one offs, but this had been about 3 months running. If something else were open close by, we'd go there. It also has never been overly busy, maybe 10 tables at most. We just want our food and drinks delivered within a reasonable amount of time. read more

Some friends and I went to this location this past Sunday for brunch/lunch. After we were seated the waitress took our drink orders. We all ordered bloody marys. She returned to our table a few minutes later and said that it would be about 30 minutes for the bar to make these drinks. This seemed odd, but we said ok. After 30 minutes I went to the bar and asked about the drink order. He looked at me like I was an alien! I mean we are talking something as basic as a bloody mary on a Sunday afternoon. I find it extremely disrespectful how our waitress (Faith F) treated my table! we were trying to be as respectful as we could, and she went out of her way to ruin our night. She interrupted one of my buddies in the middle of his order and left our table shooing her hand at us in a very inpatient way. Staff is rude, management is less than accommodating, staff will punish you if they feel your request is a bother to them.(cold food, tainted food, forgetting drinks) Ticket times are faked on app orders to meet their metrics.. there is no compensation or consideration for customers who experience bad service. Staff can be seen and heard laughing loudly about personal life conversations and in my case, they were bragging about how they handled a group of customers they did not like... the Arborwalk location is definitely not a customer service based location. Family took me here last night for dinner. I learned that BJ's is a western-state chain that originated in California. The big draw was that have their own beers.....so I was down for trying some new brews. The menu is extensive and it's pretty hard to choose! (Hey! That rhymed!) Lots of heavier fare that are calorie-laden but they also have lighter choices. I opted for the thin crust pizza with pineapple and jalapeño. The thin crust version is new to the menu and there are only a few choices - one was with bacon,ham, pineapple and jalapeño...I just asked to hold the meat on that one. Came out light, crispy, savory and a little sweet/tart/hot with the pineapple and jalapeño. We started by sharing the brussels sprouts - served crispy with a creamy sriracha sauce. Yum. My dining companions had the loaded burger and the chicken parmesan. Fries are really good. (I stole several). Dark beers all around - I had the bourbon barrel stout...delicious and strong. Nope...wasn't driving. Yep - had two. Almost forgot about the dessert! Maybe it's because I was in a beer/food-coma after this meal. We ordered 3 "mini" pizookies (get it? pizza and cookie makes a new word...): 1 monkey bread, one triple chocolate and one salted caramel. All were super sweet, decadent and....like I said...coma inducing. High calorie treat for sure but if you're going for it...go for it. They have "regular" sized pizookies as well. This was my first time at this location. I didn't realize how expensive BJ's is. Customer service is good. It wasn't busy when I went on a Friday night. I was seated quickly and my server was nice and helpful. I ordered the ribs and chicken meal along with garlic knots bread. My meal came out fairly quickly. 5 stars for the delicious deal they have on Wednesday and for an amazing waiter. Came late night to get their $10 burger deal on Wednesday. Stayed a couple hours for bottomless fries and even got a free pizookie because it was my birthday! Waiter was very kind, efficient, and amazing towards all of our requests. Also the food was 10/10. Delicious brisket burger, amazing fries, and pizookie was absolutely divine which is a given. Don't go to bjs often but his experience really got me hooked! read more

Had a terrible experience with the Uber eats driver last night. Really old guy in his 70's should not be doing this job. He was late with our order and then only delivered 2 of our 4 meals. When we immediately got in touch with him he realized two more boxes (our food) was still in the back seat! He said he would turn around and bring it back to us. One and one half hours later he finally brings the food and says the food was cold so he went back to the restaurant to have it recooked . Total Bull! This reflects poorly on BJ's and we gave a thumbs down of course on the Uber eats app. The crazy thing is you can only review a driver on the Uber eat right after the order and my wife did but I'm still irritated this morning. Really more of a review for Uber eats but the driver complained that BJ's told him our address order was 'in the bag ' when clearly he later admitted he had also picked up two boxes of flatbread pizza . Driver wanted to blame BJ's for telling him our Order was in the bag even though he had our entire order in his car. Did he thing that was for another family. We ordered the food for a business meeting and we're just starting to share the 2 meals w 4 people when 1.5 hrs later he shows up finally with the 2 meals he had all along in his car. read more

Yes, I know it's a chain. Yes, I know there are plenty of other awesome places to represent austin. Yes, I know they didn't brew onsite. Yes, I am aware I'm giving this place a 4/5 stars. I like this particular BJ's mostly because it reminds me of a similar family bar chain based out of Georgia called Taco Mac. I also like this place because of the bartender Joe. Poor Joe has seen us in there a multitude of times and it kills me that he still has to follow the corporate "script" of up selling and whatnot. We know he has to. I worked my way through Chili's for goodness sakes and they'd send out secret shoppers to ensure we were even offering the Presidente Margarita to every effing lunch patron, otherwise we'd be written up. But I digress. I've always been there for lunch hours where their beers are on happy hour lunch prices. Joe has always been the bartender and he remembers us and knows my adoration for their Nutty Brewnette, which is a poor man's version of my favoritism beer on the plant, Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar. He is always accommodating and can suggest the yummiest foods. Looking for something unique, opt for the bruschetta bites as a tasty palate driver before your meal. Their chicken tortilla soup is the jam with a fabulous presentation. They may go a bit overboard with the cheese, which, let's face it, I'm totally cool with. I'm waiting to try some of their more gluttonous options, but I know Joe will always steer us in the right direction. read more

However, when I'm looking for a high protein low calorie option, I will usually go to BJ's if my friends insist on going out when I'm trying to "behave". Their enLIGHTened menu suits my purpose. Today I tried the cherry chipotle glazed salmon. Holy crap was it good. I substituted veggies for the cous cous. It comes with asparagus, which I love. But the asparagus was really dry. That's a crime. The veggies were a bit undercooked, but still ok. What I liked about this lunch was that they have a secret list (if you ask for it) that shows the calorie, fat, sat fat, sodium, carbs, fiber & protein content of all their menu items. I was considering the lemon thyme chicken, but omg way way way too much sodium. That's a shame. I've eaten here on several occasions and their veggies are usually pretty good. Today was an off day. When I'm not behaving, their pizookies are sooooo good. But I'm still mad that they discontinued the red velvet pizookie. It was divine. read more

I have been a fan of BJ's just had not been back in a few years. So I was excited to return for a birthday celebration but sadly we did not have a good restaurant experience. Beginning with the server [Kelby] who was not engaging or attentive. We ordered the ahi tuna appetizer which half was inedible and we had to return it. We informed the server and she took away the plate but did not bother to offer a replacement or comp the appetizer which caused confusion and as a result we had to address the issue with the manager. Once management stepped in they addressed the appetizer problem as well as the issue with the beer being served room temp. When we received the check the appetizer was comped but not the replacement beer which should have been comped as well. I believe the problem starts with management and the staff is only as good as the management. Unfortunately I will not be a return customer and I will not recommend this restaurant. Lesson learned BJ's - Starting from the manager, to the head chef and to the server, ensure great food prep and presentation in addition to great customer service. And to ensure a great dining experience, the goal should be to treat your customers exactly how you would expect to be treated as a customer. P.S. The bill was over $90. Never again. read more
