Have not been to BJ's in a several years and unlike some other restaurants the food still is really tasty and delicious. Decided to do a small family lunch celebration on a Sunday here. Was a bit bummed they no longer took reservations but was happy we were sat almost immediately upon arrival. For a Sunday at lunch hour they were pretty empty. The interior is huge with tons of seating options for a group of 2 up to massive party tables. Our server was friendly and prompt. We love Bj's, especially for happy hour food specials. Their pizza is one of our favorites. They have a new appetizer sampler which includes a soft pretzel with be cheese, it's bomb!!! I recently tied the deep dish ziti is to die for! I love the combo of Alfredo & spaghetti sauce together, though it is really greasy. It's a perfect date night! My only wish was that the happy hour wasn't only for if seated at the bar or patio. We don't drink alcohol & would prefer to not have to sit or children in the bar to get the special pricing. I'll be the first to admit it, I love BJ's. Every time my family and I are trying to come up with a destination for dinner, BJ's always wins if it's mentioned. The food is consistently good, the wide selection of international beers is enjoyable, and the restaurant is comfortable, accessible, and well-equipped with TV's and friendly staff. Wednesday night was no different. My wife checked in online before we drove over, and we were greeted by the hostesss and immediately taken to a rounded booth. Moments later our server Lupe introduced herself and suggested the Lightswitch lager to my dad, over a Bud Light (good choice!) while I decided to try the Delirium Noel by Brouwerij Huyghe (say that three times fast) just because it sounded different. My lovely wife selected one of the house IPA's, which she has always enjoyed. Our drinks were promptly delivered, at which time we were asked to make our orders. Dad and I shared a medium pizza and my wife chose the Smokehouse Burger. We also had some chips and guac as an appetizer, and it was terrific. The deepdish pizza was just as good as it always is, and I sampled my wife's Smokehouse burger. It was delightfully smoky and perfectly moist despite being "Well done" as requested by my better half. I remember when BJ's used to be THEE BOMB. Ah, the good ol' days. Our waiter seemed new and was friendly. Only forgot one thing. Did not provide coasters so the table was soaked from drink condensation. Didn't love it. The table had this weird gross sticker right in the middle that I kept trying to grab like a coaster on instinct. These should be removed. Soda was 100% FLAT for all three flavors we requested. Chili Nachos appetizer was ok, but lacked flavor and toppings. Too many chips, not enough of the dips. Burger was just ok. Fries were FIRE, amazing, epic, delicious. Didn't need any sauce for dipping. Honeycrisp Chicken Salad used to be my jam. Unfortunately, this time, it had zero flavor. The fried chicken strips did taste clean. Not like oil or grease. Loved that, but still no flavor. Honey mustard had a mucus consistency. Not a fan. We will skip this next time. Why do restaurants in Bakersfield tend to go downhill? read more

I took my wife here as a last attempt to save our marriage. I was told my my coworker Tam that the egg rolls were authentic, however I was greeted by a guacamole like sensation as if it were wrapped in a parchment paper film. My wife made me pay for the meal and I accidentally forgot a period in the tip so ended up tipping 500 on accident. My wife has left me and I come here often to reminisce about our last date. One of my go to places to grab a beer with friends and a delicious pizza. Their five meat pizza is amazing! It can be a bit pricey but once you take a bit you'll understand why! Today's experience was especially memorable due in large part to the excellent service provided by our server Kat. I have always loved coming to BJ's since they opened in Bakersfield however I have been recently disappointed by the removal of garlic knots from their menu. The garlic knots were our favorite menu item and they have replaced them with some horrible dry breadsticks that pale in comparison. Besides garlic knots, we love the prime rib weekend special and the chicken tortilla soup but we now visit BJ's much less because of the removal of garlic knots. read more

Very disappointed in my order tonight. Spent over $60 for Horrible food and customer service. Customer service was weird, and not professional. Came in at 11:15pm. No one greeted or said hello, then waited as someone finally decided to acknowledge we were there. Placed my simple order.. after repeating myself multiple times. After waiting 30 minutes I got my food. Got home.. no straw, forks, napkins or even dressings that I asked for. I open the food and what do you know, burnt Brussels sprouts, raw chicken, steak was not cooked the way I had asked and then was drenched In some sauce that did not smell good! What do you do in the middle of summer and there's a power outage in your neighborhood? You go out to eat of course . My aunt had never been to BJ's and I insisted that she try it . We love a good bargain and decided to try the happy hour. You have to sit in the bar area to get the happy hour deals . I had a house margarita and a mini deep dish pizza (they're 50% off) . My aunt did a well drink and mini deep dish . When we got the bill we couldn't believe it. With 4 drinks and 2 pizzas we spent less than 20 dollars per person. The service was great and even though the bar area was at some points standing room only , people were so kind and understanding that they'd share tables . BJs has super busy weekends but they always know how to make you feel prioritized and make sure you're taken care of. The servers were very polite & quick to get to us, as well as the hostess team. I tried the chicken parmigiana with pasta and it was delicious. The chicken was full of flavor and the texture was perfect! Big portions; there were 2 large sized chicken cutlets and a well plated amount of pasta. Of course I had to try the espresso martini! It was perfectly balanced and is my new favorite in town. We started off with avocado egg rolls, and I've had these before in Victorville, and their place the egg roll were delicious over here. Not enough topping of chicken, jalapeños or the guac and sour cream. I asked for the melted cheese on the side, and I'm glad I did because the chips were basically all cheese. I ordered the Margarita Flight, and I ranked them as such. #1 Strawberry, #2 Lemon Berry, #3 Peach, and #4 Hand Crafted. I really enjoyed them. My baby ordered the corn dogs with cheese mashed potatoes, and the potatoes were really good. My oldest ordered the Brewhouse Philly, which would taste so much better if they didn't add so much cheese! Also, there was a huge tough piece of meat that should've never made it on the sandwich. My other son ordered the Chicken BLT, and it was really good, but the bacon was in pieces instead of whole slices, so that was annoying. My girl and I ordered the Guacamole bacon burger, and it too fell flat compared to the one we had in Victorville. Idk how to feel about the fries. They didn't look appetizing, and they were freshly hot they seemed to be sitting out. I never knew Bj's doesn't carry onion rings lol but dude, the ranch they serve SUCKS! The food was pretty good except for the fact that I ordered a medium rare steak and got a well done. Asked for a new one, and the waitress came back with a barely cooked steak. Shame on the cooks for being petty and just sending it out like that. On top of that, the waitress we had, handed us our checks and said "a tip would be greatly appreciated". It was like they put bread in an oven, let it bake and then added sauce, cheese and pepperonis and bake it a little more.
