Written: Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking out for a well rounded dining experience. Customer service is great, workers are very nice and always looking where they can be helpful. Food is great and ambiance isn't half bad, just the California air that messes the joint up a bit. Just about everyone cleared their plates, and we had a big group! Number rating: Food: 8/10 Customer service: 9.5/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Overall: 8.5-9/10

I honestly don't know why this restaurant was chosen for us to eat at. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The girl at the front desk had a very rude attitude and acted as if customers were bothering her. Every time someone walked in, she would roll her eyes and seem annoyed to even do her job. Customer service sets the tone for a restaurant, and unfortunately this was not welcoming at all. There was also another lady next to her, possibly a manager, and instead of staying professional they were openly talking badly about situations while customers were around. It just created an uncomfortable environment overall. As for the food, it was just okay. We waited about an hour for our meals, and when the food finally came out, it was cold and had to be taken back. Between the poor service, long wait, and cold food, the experience was not worth it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back.

More than enough parking was available. Cool vibes. They had sports games on all of the TVs. Was able to sit at a booth in the bar area. Great service from our waitress. She was really nice and attentive at her best with being busy with other tables. The Crispy Calamari was really good. Was the main reason for our visit last night lol. It also came out fast. Ordered it soon as we sat down. Spinach and artichoke dip was good too. I ordered 2 orders of the sliders. Both orders were exceptional. I could've swore the last time I ordered sliders from BJ's it was only 3 burgers lol. These came with 4. Get enough from the 1st round so I had to order another. Forgot to take pics of the sliders tho.

BJ's is becoming my new favorite restaurant to dine in. They have a huge selection of food to choose from and I like sitting at the bar and they have a huge beer and mixed drinks selection as well. I like sitting at the bar because the service is way faster than sitting at a table. The bartenders usually take care of you quick so every time my beer is almost done they ask me and fill me up quick.

Stopped by last weekend . Was seated quickly. Our server was Chelsea she was nice, attentive and helped with our requests. The food came out fairly quick and it was delicious. It was nice and fresh inside with music and games on the tv. We had a good time. By the time we left the place was full and people waiting to be seated.

Stopped by for my fiancée's birthday with her parents and loved it per usual. I've been coming to this BJ's location since years and it's always consistent. Servers are great. Parking is great. Food is great. Love of TVs to watch good sports and our specific server this day was kind enough to even offer to take a pic of our table! Only strange thing was why was the scientology channel on tv? lol Can't wait to come back and get more pizookies!

Took about 15mins to bring just waters and no alcohol drinks... Short staffed but the servers that were there seemed to just like to hangout by the bar standing around or chit chatting and not taking care of the tables. Definitely not coming back here unless they have plenty servers to take care of the customers.

I went here for lunch with my wife. As usual, this place was packed, but we were lucky enough to get a booth in the bar area. The waitress was overwhelmed with tables, but managed to get us our menus and drinks. Before ordering our food, we saw another couple across from us receive theirs, and it looked really good. The woman had ordered the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad, and the man had ordered the All-American Smash Burger with fries. Both of these items were on their $13 lunch special. The salad had a large amount of chicken and looked amazing. When the waitress asked for our orders, we told her that we would like the exact same thing as they had. Our orders arrived, and for some reason, my salad had half as much chicken as the woman across from us and looked more like a side salad. I asked the waitress why my salad seemed to have much less chicken than the woman's, and she did have an answer. Moments later, the restaurant manager showed up at our table and asked if everything was fine. I addressed the lack of chicken on my salad, and the manager agreed and had the chef cook an extra chicken breast for my salad. I really appreciated the manager recognizing the mishap with my salad and ordering the extra chicken at no charge. Overall, our experience was good. The waitress was very attentive, the food was good, and the manager was very attentive to her customers. I would recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Service!!! 15 Minute Wait Time!!! Almost all the time!!! Food was excellent & service was above average! The waiters checked in at least twice times within our visit. We were also greeted by the manager as they made their rounds, very polite & friendly. We had gone to the Cerritos BJs but they had a wait time of over 90 minutes, then I called Downey and they had no wait time. We walked in and were sat down in less than 15 minutes. Restaurant was full but they were on point which made the restaurant run very smooth.

I love BJ's is because Monday through Friday. They have a deal where I can get a burger with any side as a lettuce wrap or with gluten-free bread. I also get a gluten-free Pazooki with vanilla ice cream for $13. The burger had perfect flavor and wasn't too salty! I always add buffalo wings sauce with ranch, which makes it delicious! The Pazooki is gluten-free, but it does not taste gluten-free! It's the best gluten-free chocolate chip warm cookie I have ever had! If you are sensitive to salt like me they accommodate, and don't add salt to the burger. My waitress Laura was very sweet and patient with me. The ambience is really chill so you could go with a friend or even a date!

We came around 3:45-4 when it was slow, although our waitress was nice she was very slow and kept forgetting things, like the condiments and refills.. I ordered soup with my burger but they brought fries, when I mentioned it she took a good while to bring the soup, broccoli cheddar.. was the worst thing I've ever tried! It seemed like it was just cheese dip from a can The salad we got was the southwestern chicken type of salad, and it was drenched in dressing .. way too much! My burger tasted good, I substituted the beef for a chicken patty It was pretty satisfying! I understand everybody has a bad day once in a while , maybe she had something on her mind or new The experience could have been better , I will definitely order dressing on the side from now on. And never order that "soup" again read more

Came here last night for dinner. The wait was about 20-25 minutes long. The hostess had her back turned to the customers and was leaning over her booth. My friend and I waited for a few minutes in front of her without being acknowledged. Finally another server brought it to her attention. We were finally seated. After 5-6 minutes our server came & took our order. We ordered the spinach & artichoke dip, a clam chowder bread bowl, & a BJ's favorite mini pizza. The appetizer was ok: plenty of chips, not enough dip, and it was not very warm. My friend was happy with her bread bowl. It appeared to be hot enough, no complaints. My pizza was COLD to touch, did not look appetizing either. I sent it back to be redone. After another 10-15 the manager brought out a 2nd pizza. He wanted to endure it was hot enough. This one was but the pizza looked undercooked. The crust was soft, not what I'm used to from BJ's. Eventually, we wrapped up & asked for the check. Surprisingly, they charged us full price. Overall, I was unimpressed. Maybe it was a bad night, or perhaps BJ's quality has declined. read more

Ordered through delivery, pizza came cold but that's not bjs fault. My order was missing ice cream and I called spoke to Karla who was very helpful and replaced the whole pizookie for me. When I got to the restaurant Juan the manager was very attentive and made sure to make up for the mistake that was made earlier that day. Woooow usually come here for happy hour because of course who doesn't love discounted appetizers and alcohol however we booked the 5 course beer pairing and let me tell you. It is the most amazing experience! Food is delicious! Jen and Caleb are super cool and attentive! Loved how often they came by our table and refilled our drinks. Caleb even going into detail about our courses paired with our drinks. Jen coming by and chatting with us. Makes the experience so much memorable! Will definitely book this again!! Our server Gerardo was EXCELLENT! He provided great suggestions for our lunch experience. He was patient with our questions and checked on us several times. We ordered off the lunch special and , y'all, that is the way to go: mini Sweet Pig pizza, dinner salad and a mini pizookie!! 1000/10 experience. No, but ehh, order something, enjoy and leave the grammar at the door. In the mood for pizza? They make some good ones at the personal-pizza-for-one size on up to the group-gonna-grub level. The menu covers a wide selection of options and they carry a scope of beers to please all beer loving taste buds. Love the burgers and the Parmesan crusted chicken (separate orders on separate visits). Did I mention the Fish 'N Chips? Yeah, they're good. There, they're, their (I used the correct one). The employee who answered the phone, Aaron, was unprofessional, and when we asked to speak with the manager, Muriel, she refused to come to the drive-thru window or speak with us. This wasn't about getting free food. I simply wanted the meal I paid for to be remade correctly so it was safe for me to eat. Instead, my allergy was treated as if it didn't matter, and we were met with rude and dismissive customer service. Food allergies are serious. Restaurants have a responsibility to take them seriously and respond appropriately when they make a mistake. I hope management addresses this incident, provides proper food allergy training to its employees, and improves the way customers are treated. No one should have to leave a restaurant feeling ignored and unsafe after reporting a food allergy concern.

I came to this location to celebrate my grandmothers birthday and for having two servers for a party of 12 I was surprised at the lack of service. We were already upset that our wait of 30 minutes turned into a wait of 70 minutes. We ordered drinks and they took around 40 minutes to bring out all the drinks. All the food took a long time to come out as well and to top it off the servers were giving attitude towards the end of our meal. I also decided to place a takeout order and to my surprise it wasn't until I went to pay for my order 20 minutes after I had placed it that they decided to start making the food. There's a reason I placed my order on the phone so I wouldn't have to waste time waiting for my food to be prepared and yet 35 minutes have passed since I ordered my food and it still hasn't come out. we really needed this place in Downey. I've been three times already and all three times it was packed. although im a real people person and enjoy seeing my community having a good time, the wait is long to seat and the food takes a while. Fine if you are on a date and want to spend time together, not a favorite if you are starving and with your buddies. The beer is really tasty. I have aquired a palate for the fuller bodied beers and go with the Tatonka Stout. you all have tried that one right?? Be careful it has the most alchohol content at 8.5%. And the food is pretty good. i like the pizza and a salad. Being only open for a month now, in the future, the staff hopefully will work together better and the food will start getting on the table sooner. Investors this place is a gold mine. We absolutely adore this restaurant - it's become a family favorite! The food is nothing short of amazing. The ribs were so tender; the meat practically fell off the bones, and the mashed potatoes were hands down the best we've ever had. To top it all off, we indulged in the pie-zookies, which were so delicious that we couldn't resist ordering some to go. The service was top-notch, and our server was on point throughout the entire meal. We never had to ask for anything; she was always there with a smile, efficiently helping not only us but also her fellow teammates and the whole restaurant. So it took me a while to write this as I wanted to give myself the opportunity to see if I had one bad experience or if the service was just horrible. So my boss and I go for lunch this past Friday and what do you know same bad service. You walk in no one smiles or is friendly. Greeters well they tell you stand right here will take you to your seats but they make you stand their as they finish their conversations. The waitress we had her shirt was do dirty. I mean it seriously looked like she had not washed it in days. It was so disgusting that my boss noticed. They are horrible about filling your drink or checking on you. Again customer service needs to be their priority. It's always the same type of service. I just don't understand especially when you give a suggestion to the managers. the host on night shift last night was so rude with us . i used to work at bjs so i know how hosting works, seems like she just didn't want to do her job, had my table waiting for an hour, and when we asked the manager how long the wait was he said 45 minutes , we were like really? ontop of the hour we already waited? then suddenly a table opened up and "they already pinged us" not true. never got a text that our table was ready. the whole time we were eating the host was staring at our table and walking by looking at us it was so weird . food was also cold when served and took awhile to get to our table so im assuming they left it under the lamps for awhile before getting served to us, i saw people who sat down after we did getting their food . place is really going down hill. read more

Had a really enjoyable visit to BJ's Restaurant! The chicken fettuccine egg rolls and avocado rolls were absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. They were definitely the highlight of the meal! We also tried one of their pizzas. It was good overall, though the pepperoni was a bit on the salty side for my taste. Still, it had a nice crust and plenty of cheese. What really stood out, though, was the service friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a good meal. BJ's continues to be a solid choice for great appetizers, reliable food, and top-notch service. Terrible Experience at BJ's Restaurant We were told the wait would be an hour, which we were fine with initially. However, things quickly went downhill. We checked in with the host several times and were told we were third in line, then second, and finally that we were next. But after waiting an additional 20 minutes with no update, we checked back again only to be told, "Oh no, you're not next. We don't know who told you that--you still have another 30 minutes to wait." In total, we waited an hour and a half with constant misinformation before deciding to leave. This was completely unacceptable, and the lack of communication and organization from the staff was extremely disappointing. We won't be coming back. read more

We had an excellent dinner at BJ's and the highlight of our experience was the outstanding service from Cynthia Arroyo. She was friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Cynthia checked on us regularly, made sure everything was perfect, and went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. The food was great, but her positive attitude and attention to detail truly made the evening memorable. It's rare to come across service this good, and Cynthia is a huge asset to the restaurant. I've been going here for about 10 years (whenever they opened) and my experiences here are usually mediocre but the food is always consistent (unless you order takeout especially the cookie with ice cream! Not cooked the same as ordering in and usually a smaller portion). Staff is generally mixed (some extremely nice some very irritated). I ran into both today but the person working the takeout was such a breath of fresh air! I believe his name was Oshay but I forgot to ask just overheard a woman call out to him. Oh sever Hayley was absolutely amazing. Her energy was wonderful from the moment we arrived, and she came ready to work. She handled our party of 12 with professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude the entire time. She never hesitated to make things right for us, even comping some of our food when needed. What stood out the most was her dedication...she stayed 20 minutes past closing to make sure our party was fully taken care of and had everything we needed. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The food was terrible--bland, poorly prepared, and served at the wrong temperature. It was obvious that little care went into the quality of the meal. The service was just as bad. The staff seemed uninterested, slow to respond, and inattentive throughout our visit. We had to wait far too long for our food and struggled to get anyone's attention when we needed assistance. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Between the poor food and terrible service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely not be returning. read more

Like all restaurant food chains out there, BJ's isn't safe from the decline in food quality. I get it, food is becoming more expensive so the quality has to go down for the same price. Maybe because my expectations were low or I was extremely lucky. Probably both. But I had a great piece of salmon. Juicy and seasoned awesomely. Kudos to the chef. Nicolette was our server tonight and she was absolutely amazing! The vibes were immaculate, and next time I'm back, sitting in her section is a must. Thank you for suggesting the Brussels sprouts--I probably never would have tried them otherwise, and they were so good! BJs BJs...you know, for a spot that is the in middle of Downey with very little to choose from to satisfy the seasoned foodie..you don't do a bad job. It provides what you would expect from a typical BJ's menu, but what I was impressed with the most was the take-out service. They had a spot where you can walk-in, make the transaction, and peace out! Back to your oh-so-lovely 9-5 routine. It is also a lot faster and more clean-cut than the other take out 'chain' like options (Elephant Bar/Chili's). read more
