**Update below** I said I wouldn't come back after a negative service experience and review- but the manager reached out so we decided to give it one more shot. I'm currently sitting here at 8pm on a Thursday, and there is a light crowd with plenty of staff- we've been sitting here for 10 minutes and many waiters have passed us and looked at us...no one has taken our drink order, said hello, or acknowledged our existence. We will be walking out and never coming back in 5 minutes. **Update**after posting this review the manager kindly introduced himself, acknowledged our wait, apologized, and offered to take care of our meal. The food was delicious as usual (I only ever had service complaints) and our waitress was as delightful. My husband and I are visiting here from Chicago for the weekend. We had just finished walking through the mall when my husband suggested we try the brewery for dinner. We sat at the bar, and server Allison greeted us. She let us try 4 different beer samples before we choose the DELICIOUS berry cider to drink. I love their appetizer-calamari!!! I love their bursts cider! The staff and servers are friendly and the inside looks very classy! It is a fine in place that you would take someone on a date or for celebratory dinner! Price isn't that bad! And my food has always been served very well! Their steak cooks the way I want it to be! The chipotle salmon is my best salmon in town! It is cold on the inside however. Bring a little jacket/sweater! The brownie is amazing! Everyone should try it once at least!!! I was there with a large group. Mondays, pizzas are half off. I asked if the pizzas were half price and waitress said yes. I ordered a small (mini) deep dish pizza, sweet potato fries and an iced tea. The pizza wasn't a deep dish at all. It was very doughy and seriously tasted like a frozen Kroger thick crust pizza that I can make at home. The fries were very cold and I didn't eat many. I was never offered a refill of the iced tea. She was very busy with the large group, and I didn't want to call attention to myself and be embarrassed by complaining. Then the bill came. it was over $30 including the 18% tip that was automatically added. The $3.75 iced tea is the most expensive I've seen around. $15 for a tiny frozen pizza is ridiculous (turns out the 'small' pizzas aren't half price), and $7 for cold fries was just wrong. Some in our group ordered a Sangria. They were so shocked to see a $14 charge for that little drink. read more

Always an excellent experience. HUGE menu...almost too big, folks. Pick a venue...stick with a Few awesome things not hundreds of good things. Service is always good, food always tastes fine, atmosphere/ambience is great but the ONLY reason I didn't give five stars is because of the Heat...or Lack of it! The last few times we have been in there we had to keep our coats on! Sure the place is enormous for a restaurant and I understand that your heating/air bills must be through the roof...but you will lose customers if they feel they must keep their coats on for lunch/dinner in the winter! We've been coming here once a month for girls night but tonight was the last straw. They act like every little thing is a major inconvenience to them. Our waitress tonight was rude for some reason- we were a group of women happy to be out and away from the kids, we were all in a happy mood and this woman seemed to hate us for it. The girl at the front desk ACTUALLY rolled her eyes at us at one point. We've put up with the attitudes of BJ's workers for too long now. Very cool restaurant on the inside. Service was great and the food was very good as well. And plenty of amazing beers and drinks. I got shrimp scampi over zucchini noodles and the wife got the ribeye. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics, the food was good The only minor complaint I had was they left the tails on the shrimp so you have to use your hands in a pasta dish covered in cheese and butter to take the tail off. I've been going to this restaurant for a while now and the food and service has always been wonderful. I love their beer selection and they have great house made sodas. Last night I had an experience so wonderful that I just had to leave a review. My sister has a lot of food allergies and Elise was so friendly and accommodating to ensure that she could eat well. It is honestly normally very difficult for her to go out to eat and the fact that she not only had options but our server was kind about it was so refreshing. The whole table just absolutely adored her. She was so wonderful and I truly hope BJ's is aware of how lucky they are to have her. read more

After having three uninspiring meals here it was time to write this. The staff at this location seems to always be disorganized and unaware. The hostesses are seldom personable,  remind me is it a hostess responsibility to greet guests?....... Nor do they seem to have a handle on the incoming guests no matter the traffic level. Anyway, we came in to dine at 3:15 on a Saturday. The server took a good 15 min to approach the table after the hostess tried to seat us at a barely 5 person booth with 5 people and a baby. Our drinks took a while and the food took even longer.  Once the food came out, it was not appetizing.  The avavado egg rolls had been under the heat lamp too long, the honey chicken tender salad was slimy and had little to no romaine in it as was advertized. The pizza had burn spots on it as well and toppings only in the center. Basically, I would skip this location all together. If you really have a craving for this brew house, go to Springdale.  This location has lost us as customers because they just basically don't care. read more

"Sleek gastropub". Those are the exact words that slid across my lips as we entered the BJ's just outside of the Florence Mall. It really was just a random pick for some grub, but the inside just blew me away. Very nice theme, trendy interior, all leading up to a large bar that claimed the main stage of this restaurant. We took our seat in the back, far from the drunken howling of a few guys drinking and watching the game. We were greeted and handed menus, while I asked what they specialized in. I was told pizza and that was what I had my heart set on. And both me and my companion decided on a small pizza with half-and-half toppings. The menu though... that menu was the writing on the wall and I knew it from the second I looked through it. There must've been 13+ pages (going from memory), 3-4 of which were devoted solely to drinks, but still!!! That many things on a menu is almost always an omen for a disaster and well... You know when you try to do too many things at once then just end up doing nothing right? Well, this was that same scenario playing out in my mouth and probably everyone else's. The pizza's crust was then only redeemable quality, crisp and perfectly done. Then comes the clearly low-quality, trucked in cheese and toppings. Go to Kroger and just figure out the crust; it would be the same thing. The sauce... oh, wait.... well, they pretty much didn't use any. Maybe that's how they get the crust right... Dissatisfied with my pizza, I ended up having to order an appetizer of barbecue ribs, which were much more digestible than the abomination I split with my friend; and they were somewhat decent. I began to think that we were supposed to be drunk at the bar to actually enjoy this. I'm still shaking my head about this place... Simply pick a few of your best menu items, use quality ingredients, and do a few things well; trying to do everything only makes everything bad. Where's Chef Ramsay? My husband and I just had dinner at BJ's in Florence. He ordered the jambalaya, which he enjoyed. I ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich. I took one bite and realized something was wrong. I asked my husband to taste it and before he did he smelled it and it was spoiled meat. We called our server back and told her and she said she would send the manager over. That never happened (he was too busy flirting with a table of young girls). I ended up just ordering a personal pizza. When that finally arrived it was not done. The dough was very underbacked and very doughy. When we received our bill, the server took off half of the price of the pizza. Not too mention our server disappeared for very long periods of time. Went to BJ's in Florence, Ky to celebrate my Granddaughter's adoption. One of our party ordered a hamburger and fries with no mayo and one change to the normal hamburger. The 1st hamburger they served was far different than what was ordered so it was sent back. The 2nd hamburger had only meat and bun and NOTHING else. Not even close to what was ordered. We gave up on BJ's getting a simple order correct and changed the order to pork chops. The order NEVER CAME. Everyone else was through with their meal and one diner was NEVER SERVED ANY FOOD. We attempted to talk to the manager to no avail. He could not have cared less that our order never came. He even refused to apologize for not getting our order correct. He acted like somehow this was our fault. To say he was unconcerned is an understatement. I will NEVER GO BACK to BJ's in Florence, Ky as their uncaring attitude is unacceptable. BJ's provides a decent experience. I've always wanted to come in but there are normally other options. I now see how they fill a niche for classier beer bar chain. Tons of options on tap. I mm skeptical of the BJ's brand beer but I love all the local craft options. The deep dish pizza was pretty tasty. Maybe a little over priced for what it is. Worst dining experience to date. I had the gumbo, way over spiced and all you taste is pepper. I've had gumbo a lot and this was not good. My wife ordered the seared ahi salad. The tuna was not fresh, chewy and not edible. We didn't finish our dinners. No refills on water, no return to ask how things were going. First time here and was disappointed for a few reasons. My mom and I went here for lunch. We started with their salsa and chips for an appetizer because the menu said that the chips were refillable for free. The salsa was very good. We ate through the chips very fast and when our waitress came by she started to take the salsa away and not offer any more chips. A little odd, but easily corrected. So BJ's does have a nice lunch menu with a variety of options but I opted to order pasta from their dinner menu. Their menu, by the way, is overwhelmingly huge. Anyways, I got the baked ziti since our waitress recommended it. When it came to the table, it looked appetizing but I was disappointed by how small it was!! I mean it was a dinner option...and it cost me a whopping $15 for pasta! I should've avoided that cost. It tasted fine but I could tell that the meats used inside where precooked pizza toppings and there was a pool of grease under the noodles. Last, my mom and I decided to try their pizookie. Let me say that the picture on the menu (and on yelp) is very deceiving. They depict this dessert as a deep dish cookie with ice cream on it. In reality, it's just a large cookie, and again it's over priced. It tasted fine but could easily be made at home for a fraction of the cost (same with my pasta). Overall this experience left me with a taste for something more. Basically if you want pasta, go to a pasta place. If you want a burger, go to a burger place. You get the point. Pleasantly surprised by a recent dinner experience here. It's a brew house so think pub food and beer and you'll be happy. I got a burger with wedge fries and a craft beer sampler. The burger was well cooked, diner-style on a flat top with lots of flavor. The wedge fries were crisp on the outside, well-seasoned, and soft potato inside. I tried several housemade beers which were enjoyable and there was a wide range to choose from. Hubby went outside the pizza and burger pages and thought his was just OK (fish tacos). Service was pretty prompt, no problem getting to our movie on time. 2 tips: --no reservations, but they do take call ahead seating, which I would recommend for weekends (reduced our wait to 10 min) --they offer discounted movie tickets for Rave next door ($8), but you might want to inquire in advance if that's important to you because they ran out when we were there. read more

Unfortunately every time we come here we have silly wait times. The first time was when it had recently opened and was super busy. Hand full of other time same hint, too long of a wait to get a table the, for food, and for the check. I don't know where the problem is bc it seems the staff is running around in a hustle. This time we found it odd that we had to wait 30-40 mins to be seated only to seat about 8 empty tables in the area which we sat. The waitress didn't bother to let us know what the specials were, so good thing we already looked online and saw it was free pizookie day. We had never had a pizookie before and they are awesome!!! Had a Mahi Mahi beach something or the other. I appctd the calories on the menu items, helpful. It was tasty and pretty damn healthy. Had the House Porter and that shit is smooth! Great tasting mellow malty etc. I see the comments about service. I sat at the bar and the poor bartender even he admitted was getting his ass kicked. He needed more help, manager tried to support but it was obvious they are understaffed. My meal surprised me, I expected the beer to be good but it was exceptional. My wife and I have gone to this location quite a few times through the years and the reason why is that they actually do have really good food. The restaurant is always very clean but I wish that they would fix some of the tables because the are really wobbly. The main reason for the 3 star is the staff, they are not the friendliest bunch I've ever met. They seem genuinely annoyed if you ask questions or want to change something on your order and they tend to disappear for extended periods of time. So if you don't mind a not so friendly staff but love good food then this place I would recommend. read more

Decided to try this place on the fly while visiting the area for a football game. Wise decision! Both of us ordered the Ribeye and the result was a huge thumbs up. Cooked exactly to order. ..flame - grilled juicy goodness. Pepperoni dip appetizer was good and convinced us that when we come back we should give their pizza a try. If I could make a recommendation to this chain, I would suggest rolls or bread of some sort to accompany the salad (which was also very good) and the meal. The bar drinks are refreshingly original but expensive. The waitress was okay but I sort of felt like we might be keeping her from socializing with a friend who was in the bar. read more
