Not sure why there are so many low reviews, we enjoy BJ's every time we visit. We had a great time during our most recent visit which was with 5 kids for my daughters 10th birthday. The food and service is always good. The restaurant is clean and the prices are fair. In fact the kids meals are a great deal (about $7 for a starter of fruit and oyster crackers, entree, a side and a drink). Both the main menu and kids menu have a great variety. The pizookies are delicious and while one may be too big if not sharing the mini's are perfect. Join the rewards program and get points for discounts. read more

I work for the Frederick DHS as a health inspector. While off duty. I witnessed an employee being harassed and touched inappropriately by an employee here and I will be making my complaint to the attorney general. I was speaking to the on duty manager Stephen. And he flat out walked away from me mid sentence. He was extremely dismissive. But if me or the victimized employee are retaliated against there will be an interesting turn of events. read more

The only reason there are any stars are because the food was decent so the kitchen didn't suck but the service was beyond slow. It took the server Angel so long in a very dead restaurant to get our food to our table, so long that it had started cooling already. She disappeared for a solid 10 minutes after we asked for our to-go box and then upon returning to the floor completely forgot for another 20 minutes while running the 6 other tables their food etc. Hopefully their BOH kitchen staff has better hygiene than the front of house staffs as their ONLY bartender kept pulling his mask down to RUB his RUNNY NOSE on his bare hands !!! He even touched his mouth with bare fingers and went right to making drinks, getting ice and pulling beer from the tap without once washing his hands! Hygiene is always important but clearly a COVID pandemic is not the time to flaunt poor hygiene. Update to include response to managers response Feb 3 2022: there were NOT ANY managers on the floor, being someone that's worked BOH and FOH a manager was the FIRST thing my table looked for, there was not a single manager around, and "table touches" were NOT preformed which was another issue all together, after an hour and a forty minutes for one pizza. The person that did "table touches" and CLEARED/bussed the tables was the bartender, which was disgusting because he had his fingers in his mouth and touching his face without washing his hands... no less during a pandemic where he could be KILLING people or making them very sick!!! Discovered this place a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with the food. We only got appetizers but it was enough to fill me and my boyfriend up nonetheless. The mozzarella sticks had such a nice seasoning which made it all crunchy and fresh. The boneless wings had a flavorful sauce and went well with the blue cheese. The conditions for COVID-19 are well enforced. The seating is adjusted for every other table and most customers are seated on separate sides of each row. Now, my absolutely favorite thing from here is the pizookie. It is basically a cookie mixed with the topping of ice cream and/or whipped cream. Sometimes, I only stop by just to get the dessert and leave. It is very delicious and works well with the ice cream addition. The portion is relatively large, sometimes I am not able to finish it after a meal, so keep that in mind if you plan to get a pizookie. read more

10/25/19 - the 4 of us decided to try this restaurant for dinner. We arrived around 6p was told it would be a 30min wait. We were good with that, and found seats in the waiting area. 50min later and still no indication that we were getting a table after seeing many patrons leave, I went to ask what happened. The host said they were now on a 45min wait. I asked what happened to "our" 30min wait? They tried to tell me it was 45min all along and the other three persons in my party said in unison no you said 30min! So we waited more, and finally after an hour wait, we were seated. Then it took 10min before any server addressed the table, did a quick drive-by what can I get you all to drink. Then disappeared for 5min. Look this place was not that busy at 7:15p and I am unclear why this was the case of not getting served quicker. Well we ordered, and now I know what the issue looked to be. Our Salads were all wrong, the chicken dish I ordered was cold and well under cooked (as in raw), the food actually came out in pieces not as whole table order. I noticed other tables having to send back food and the staff selling orders (not knowing what table the food went to and asking table after table did you order the burger) and looking overwhelmed. We paid the check, and all agreed that leaving 2.5hrs after arrival and getting poor customer service, and underwhelming and incorrect food was enough for us not to want to go back. read more

This was my first time at Bj's and the best part of the experience was our server Jonah. He was very friendly and courteous. He made sure to check on us often and kept our water glass full. I drink a lot of water during my meals so it is always nice to not have to keep asking for refills. The food was very tasty and the temperature of the food was perfect! Our table split an Ahi Poke Tacos & Crispy Calamari app, and for my entree I had the Piranha Pale Ale Chili. I love the chili at Pour House and so wanted to compare my level of enjoyment. It did not disappoint me. I accompanied my chili with a nice cold Jeremiah Red. Being that i'm Irish , it's based of Irish beer and it has a higher ABV then most I opted for this one. I'm all about bang for my buck! I made the right choice. My bestie had the Hickory Brisket And Bacon Burger. She really liked it. She is very picky about her meat needing to be well done and so she was very pleased that is was cooked to her preference at perfection. The burger had a good taste but they forgot to add the bacon, you could barely see the cheese and they didn't put the ranch. I've had this same type of burger from Red Robin and it was so much better. I told the waitress about the missing bacon and she asked if I wanted the bacon or a discount, I said discount. I ate at BJRB on 11-6-2021. Order: Small BJ Favorite (Supreme) deep dish pizza, fries and iced sweet tea. Quality of Food: The pizza and iced sweet tea were very good. The French fries were average for casual bar/restaurant. Quality of Service: Table service was very good. Waiter was friendly and responded to requests swiftly. The door staff didn't seem alert to taking the initiative to be ready to help someone in a wheelchair. ADA Note: This establishment does not have automatic doors by the wheelchair ramp. The server was very inattentive even though they were not busy at all. I ordered the hot ham and cheese grilled cheese. It was ridiculous with only one slice of ham on the entire sandwich. My husband ordered the tri-tips and shrimp. He ordered his tri-tips medium rare. They came out well done and he asked the server to fix it. She came back and said the manager said they have a really difficult time cooking them to order or cooking them medium rare. We asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was busy at the grill but that she would go get him. We gave up and walked out. Without eating I might add. Overstimulation! TVs, music, high ceiling! Fun good energy on a Friday night. We started off with a couple of drinks in the bar, and the flatbread nachos which were yummy and delicious. Probably enough for a meal. I tried the seared Ahi salad where there were tiny little squares of tuna in a big big giant bowl of greens. I don't think there was much value or protein in this meal. These jerks cancelled our order immediately upon receipt (4.5 hours prior to closing) with NO notice or explanation. Absolutely unacceptable. We waited a good portion of the predicted wait time until re-re-confirming that the order had been sent. Utter assholes. I hope the jerk that pulled the trigger on this decision has to spend 20+ years doing dialysis. Never again will I order delivery, let alone go to the restaurant again. The only recourse I have is to make sure everyone knows that they don't care about you. As restaurants are in the service business, when they lack service they are NOTHING. This place is filthy. It just opened up for Business for the day and the tables are dirty and the floor is filthy. The front of the bar looks like it has never been wiped down. Beautiful atmosphere, but dirty.Waitress is very slow. Some of the food on the menu is only available after 4:00, of course you don't know this until you try to order it. BJ's not only has a massive menu and delicious food; they have fantastic service and a great happy hour as well! My favorite thing about this place is that I can order something different every single time. Seriously, their menu reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory...endless choices! My most recent visit was on a Friday evening around 6:00. Their happy hour stretches from 3:00 to 7:00, and I was pleased to see their handcrafted beers were on special for $4. They also have select appetizers for $6 (I would recommend the spinach and artichoke dip). If you're looking for one of their craft brews, I would recommend their amber ale, the Jeremiah Red. I ordered the Lemon Thyme Chicken for $13.50, and boy was it amazing. It was seasoned wonderfully and the rice was flavorful and delicious. Finally, you HAVE to try their Pizookie dessert. They have a variety of options, but the s'mores is my favorite. I normally don't order dessert at restaurants, but I always save room for this dish. It has a chocolatey base topped with warm peanut butter, toasted marshmallows, and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. It is delicious! Finally, the service here is awesome. Our waiter, Mark, was funny, friendly, and attentive the entire time. There was a problem with my bill and he was apologetic and quick to fix it. You can't go wrong with BJ's. He was very personable and patient while we made our decisions on food/drinks/beer flights. He even made it a point without us asking to find out that the Yuengling Hershey's was on tap so we could get it on the beer flight. Thank you so so much for everything and making tonight such a nice night out! The waitress never checked on us, food took long to come, and we never got refills until we asked when it was time for the check and to leave. Every time we come here we say we won't come here again and then we do, for reasons I can't explain. Inertia? The food is incredibly overpriced for both the quality and quantity. Everything is drenched in salt. Service is consistently awful. Any request of a server-- such as "could we get some silverware?"-- takes much longer to complete than logic would dictate. BJ's has locations nationwide and we've been to some that are great. Not sure what is happening here. read more

Pre Covid we came here weekly. The past few months we've come every other week. They have vegetarian options my wife likes and I can get my Guinness draft. The past two times have been not enjoyable. From getting my wife's order wrong to not knowing how to draw a Guinness pint. Today was the pits. Order served wrong, pint drawn wrong...you don't pour the whole pint at one time you let it settle. Then we waited for the server to come back to order the $6 take out meals. Came back with the receipt but no meals. Waited 10 minutes and when still not returned we left. Deposited bill and payment with hostess and explained the issue. Won't be back for a while. read more

Poor managerial tactics. Presumably the manager was having a negative conference in the waiting area when we walked in and no one noticed that there were new customers waiting to be seated. Our waiter was a total space cadet. We had to repeat our orders three times because I don't think he was even listening. The calamari was served with ranch and marinara sauce instead of the requested tartar and cocktail sauce. I asked him to please bring tartar sauce--he just never brought it. He didn't clear plates from the appetizer and we didn't have room to move around, even after the entree was finally brought. We had to ask him to take the dirty plates from the table. My husband ordered the prime rib med-rare and it came out very, very rare. After trying to tell my husband that that "was, in fact, med-rare," the waiter took it back and the chef just stuck it under a warming lamp and sent it back as good. No-go. Luckily what my husband ordered afterwards was good, and luckily the prime rib was taken off the bill. We didn't come at a busy time and we've barely seen anyone removing dishes, asking about refills, or otherwise even checking in. I've been to BJ's in another location and it was great! This one lacked the restaurant basics. We won't be returning to this one. read more

If you like alcohol and modern decor, this could be the place for you! If you like something more laid back, maybe not. Great bar food if you are into that, but tends to be kind of pricy. I've only come here when out of other places to go, but remember having a salad, a pizza, and some fries which were good. I wish they had some more vegan options, though. Unbelievably bad food. We were a party of six, three of our orders were screwed up. Cold lentils, uncooked broccoli, we ordered a salad with no cheese, it came with cheese, sent it back, it came back with cheese still on it. Baked potato was cooked but cold, I guess precooked and microwaved. Burgers had toppings we didn't order. And of course when you complain you won't see your waitress again until it's time for the check, so no refills on drinks. The manager was apologetic and offered gift cards but why would we want to go through that again? For the prices they charge they really need to up their game. read more

It's a new place so I would expect long waiting on weekend evenings anyway. I enjoyed the Jeremiah Red, the Oasis amber and Nutty brunette beer. I will definitely go back and try the others. I'm not so hung up on them not brewing ON site like others have expressed in their review as it is their beer being shipped in anyway. I don't have a need to see the brewing process. I've frequented Barley and Hops for years (as well as other brewery type restaurants) and I work in Biotech Biopharm. I'm over seeing all the shiny tanks. Besides, Brewers Alley moved their brewery outside their restaurant and that helped expand the bar area tremendously. That place is STILL hopping without the tanks and I'm sure that's helped in bringing in more customers. The food was good. I had the hand tossed spicy meatball pizza. It was tasty and probably could have stayed in the oven a little longer. I like crispy bottoms. I tasted the deep dish. It was good too. Very airy and not so dense. The mini size was tiny but probably a good option if you loaded up on beer and appetizers beforehand. Could have used more cheese/toppings. Overall I would visit them again. Every new restaurant needs to shake out the kinks until they can get into a more consistent/efficient mode. Beer is good IMHO. Besides, taste IS subjective so don't base whether to try this place or not from someone else's opinion. Try it the craft beer out and judge the taste yourself. Ambiance is nice. This place was pretty solid on the casual sports bar vibe. A dozen or so homemade beers give one plenty to quaff with food. My friend and I got a sampler each to make sure we'd sampled a good portion of the brews. I was drawn to the bison burger and God love 'em, the waiters knew to recommend it cooked medium or medium rare so it doesn't get overcooked. I was not disappointed. A very juicy burger with skinny french fries (My companions are more potato wedge folks, but I opt for the typical boring fries over wedges). It was crowded and noisy, so not my ideal place to hang out with friends. I'm pretty sure it's the awesome beer that will bring me back. read more

We stopped in for an early dinner on Monday. It was one of the few (perhaps only) restaurant we've been to in recent memory where we didn't check any reviews prior to going in. The atmosphere is cool--very contemporary and sleek, with dark wood and marble table tops. There are tons of tables and a really large bar area. The beer menu is, in a word: extensive. The menu was pages (and I mean PAGES) long and at least 1/2 of it was filled with craft brews, in-house brews, and cocktails. It got to the point where I was thinking, "They do serve food here, right...?? Oh, there it is." We didn't drink. We were saving room for a nearby brewery tour/event we were attending. Next time! Onto the food. Hubby got a bacon turkey burger and seemed to like it. In the bite I took, I found the burger was moist and flavorful and the bun was tasty. I got a buffalo chicken grilled cheese with fries. The fries were crispy and yummy. The sandwich was OK. I mean, the flavors were decent (the bread was the star), but for some reason I was thinking it would be pulled buffalo chicken, but it was basically breaded boneless wings on toast. Heyyyoo carbs. Not the kind of meal you eat and then feel awesome after. I only ate half and still felt kind of blahhhh when I was done. I know this is nit-picky, but I also didn't like that my sandwich and hubby's burger were served on metal trays akin to a particular BBQ chain. BJ's felt a little classier than that, so the trays were out of place and kind of off-putting. Our waitress was extremely friendly, but a little too attentive. I liked that she gave us suggestions off the menu, but I didn't like how often she came over to our table. I think she stopped by the table 3 times during just our appetizer. An inattentive server would be worse, but there were times I felt a awkward by her presence. And then when we were paying, she stood near the table and before we were even done pulling money out asked if we were going to need change. I'm sure it was because it was early in her shift and she didn't have a lot of change, but c'mon. Be a little more tactful, girl! I'm sure SOMEONE could make you change if we would have needed it. Bottom line: I would come back. This seems like a good place to bring picky eaters or a large group because the menu is huge, so theoretically everyone should be able to find something they can eat. read more

An expansive American restaurant that also serves their own beer? It's not a new concept, but BJ's decor, menu and drink offerings are massive. Unfortunately their execution is average - meaning that there aren't that many "wow" moments. I tried their samplers (pick 4 beers in 5 oz) and found 3/4 to be eh (the winner was the nutty brewnette). Their crispy calamari portion size was also a bit small for the price and definitely taste like re-heated. It seems like an ideal place for work happy hour or a quick lunch spot. But I'd go elsewhere for dinner. read more

Told us all about the menu, gave us great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. He was friendly, super attentive, and eager to serve. Never made us wait for anything.
