Have had lunch, dinner and drinks here at the bar. Have had some very good service, some times a little slow but the servers are knowledgeable. I enjoy the food here, especially the cherry Chipotle salmon and the pizookie dessert is to die for. They have excellent beers that they make and also great florida breweries on tap. Plenty of TVs at the bar to watch the games. I've also seen governor Rick Scott here one time (yes in Lutz!). They have a very comprehensive menu so you might need some time to look through it. I recommend this BJ's, parking can be challenging in the lot but it's at a large outlet mall so there are other places to park. It is a chain restaurant so you do know what to expect. read more

So here we are, we're back at BJ's and we're hoping for a better experience than the last one although the "Hello" from Jen, our server has already earned a second star. The manager, James, came over and spoke to us and wanted to ensure that our experience was better than what we got the last time we were here... it was. We made it past the drinks this time and we were able to actually place an order. The Bacon Bomb buffalo wings were out of this world... GOOD... I've never really need a second chance person, not with people, relationships and definitely not with restaurants, you burn me or the experience sucks and you're a memory to me, a forgettable one at that. BJ's is one of my favorite places to eat, and their early hiccups in getting started have been more than made up for in the days since my first review. High quality food, consistently excellent service, and a clean, inviting restaurant. In fact, this location has become the favorite not just for me and my husband, but my theatre students have become huge fans as well. It is our go-to restaurant for an after-show meal, and if you see a large table of dramatic young people, those are probably my theatre majors. But one thing I have taught them is how to recognize good food when they see it, and they come back even when I'm not around. Started out badly when our waitress didn't return after drinks for almost 30 minutes. Let's get to the food. The " star" of the meal was several orders of baby back ribs, like none I've ever tasted. What was served , in fairness, resembled Buffalo Wild Wings crispy wings with dry seasoning. This was in no way a "dry rub". They were dry, overcooked , crispy and did I say dry? When I asked how they were cooked, our server said " slow cooked for 6 hours, then into our pizza ovens". Why , in God's name, would you put "slow cooked ribs" into a high temperature pizza oven? Their menu also has plenty of options from apps all the way through to dessert. We ordered the avocado egg rolls, which came with 6 eggs rolls and this delicious dipping sauce, and 2 orders of wings. The egg rolls were a 5/5; I would definitely would recommend them! The wings were good but my fiancé found a black hair in his. Oh BJ's Brewhouse, how I love your food at every location I've been at before this one. Too bad the service and quality at this Lutz location was subpar to say the least. My best friend was married 2 weeks ago today. The Thursday night before the wedding, the bridal party (bride+5 ladies) came to BJ's for dinner while having a girls night. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival despite our cited 20 minute wait time (great!) but then came the trouble.. we sat down and asked for waters all around while we looked over the drink menu. When we went to order drinks, the waitress informed us that "someone" (the groom) had called ahead and ordered us a bottle of champagne that she would bring out in case we wanted to wait on the bottle before ordering more drinks. Then the waters came out - only 5 of them for the 6 of us. The waitress didn't even notice she didn't bring a 6th and we had to request it when she brought the wine - again bringing only 5 glasses for 6 of us despite having said out loud "okay 6 waters and 6 glasses" before she came by. After bringing us the wine glasses she comes back to inform us that they're out of bubbly - and gave a choice of white wine or rose (I feel like this was information they should have told the groom when he called as we were waiting to be seated and paid for the bottle - or to us when she came by and told us that a bottle had been purchased for our table). We got our waters and wine glasses after a bit of a wait - all of this would've been fine and we would've let it go but the night didn't really get better from there. The bride ordered a large steak - cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, more than 1/4 of the steak was completely raw - seared lightly on the outside and raw on the inside. The rest of our meals came out correctly (a pizza, two orders of the Parmesan crusted chicken, an order of calamari, an order of potato skins, a flatbread, and a salad). And again... only 5 sets of silverware. The waitress brought our food before bringing the silverware and then zoomed by with it after we asked for it - and forgot one - and zoomed away before we could say anything and only came back nearly 10 minutes later. The whole dinner experience took nearly 2 hours despite us ordering as soon as the wine came out (getting the waters and wine alone took 20 minutes). And then, we felt like we were being rushed out so they could turn the table over when it came time to pay despite the service having been so mediocre and slowed down the whole meal all night. The waitress acted like she was doing us a favor just showing up to work the whole night. Onto some things I generally like about BJ's: BJ's is like Applebee's or Chili's in that every restaurant has the same layout and general aesthetic: BJ's has huge TVs and a sports bar vibe with darker lighting and significantly better food. The portions are always spot on and you can't go wrong with the Parmesan crusted chicken and a pizookie. They're famous for these pizookies: cookies baked in personal sized pizza pans and topped with ice cream. Can't decide what flavor you want? Get a mini pizookie trio and try out 3 flavors. Hopefully others catch them on a better night than we did. If you want good, fast, accurate service, this BJs may not be the place for you. If you're more patient and can deal with the service for the great food, enjoy! read more

One meal was at least 20 minutes behind the others. The food was not hot but given the time we invested we ate it and left. I come here all the time.. they have an awesome menu that literally has something for everyone, plus they have an awesome selection of beers which are decently priced! HONEY SRIRACHA BRUSSELS SPROUTS - 5 stars These are probably my favorite item on the menu.. I get them EVERY TIME I come! I always get extra honey sriracha sauce with mine because I actually don't like Brussels sprouts.... But the sauce makes the dish and this is the only way I will eat them! They are slightly crunchy and very filling! CHIPS & SALSA - 3 stars Now I didn't mind the salsa but my partner hated it.. the salsa comes out room temperature and she really didn't like that... it's not the best but it's not the worst... for the price I would skip and order something else. HICORY BRISKET & BACON BURGER - 4 stars This burger is delicious, but I gave it 4 stars because it's SUPER messy... definitely don't order this if you're wearing something nice because dripples of BBQ sauce are likely! Besides that it's an awesome burger... the brisket has a yummy Smokey taste that you can only get from a good ole BBQ grill/ smoker! It's very hardy and very filling! SPICY PEANUT CHICKEN WITH SOBA NOODLES - 4 stars Again this menu item was delicious, it was very flavorful & filling but this got 4 stars because it didn't come with enough chicken... there was less than half a breast in my dish... I also expected the chicken to come in a whole breast sliced and nicely laid on top of the bed of noodles (that's how I personally would have served it if it was my restaurant) but alas.. the chicken was diced and sprinkled in the dish.. the chicken was clearly diced before cooking because it was rather dry despite being in a pool of the peanut sauce.. again I think cooking the breast whole then slicing and serving would make the chicken juicier- and the star of the dish.. the way it was served made the soba noodles the star (which would have been fine if the menu item was a bowl of spicy peanut noodles with a chicken add on but it was not) if a menu item is $15 I expect a full Breast... after mentioning this to the waitress she brought out extra chicken for me right away.. (like I said they ALWAYS have the BEST customer service!) overall this item was yummy, great flavor- not too spicy at all- it's a mild heat, and definitely not too peanut-y (for me at least!) and I would totally order it again! read more

Ordinarily the baby back ribs are thick with meat that are so tender and delicious. This time the rack was smaller and thinner. There were less meaty. They were more bony and difficult to cut and separate. So disappointed. I should have sent them back, but we were pressed for time. I ordered an Atlantic salmon with rice and broccoli that automatically comes on it and the fish was cooked blackened style. After having a few bites, unfortunately the broccoli was bland the the rice was overcooked which was weird because when I order pasta it's usually under. And there happened to be a bone in my food ( a physical contamination ). The staff was also 50/50 with some being very dismissive and others being very welcoming. They have the big board indicated the brewery on the tap when you walk in. Some beer is interesting from other states. BJ has been open for business not long ago. I have their food at Gainesville before. Now they are close to my neighborhood. We have ordered the pan seared salmon with quinoa and seared tuna salad. Their R and D did a good job to come out the menu. It is very likable. The tuna is seasoning and seared outward. The salad has good dressing and good selection of ingredients. Crispy wonton skin and pickle ginger add the flavor to the salad. The salmon is almost like blacken outside with good spice. The quinoa is well cook. I like this dish the most. At the end we added the monkey bread with ice cream. Like cinnamon roll top with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Call ahead for putting your name in the wait list will cut down wait time by half. We arrived around 9pm, and it was super packed inside. Luckily, we got a seat right away (it was only 2 of us). And unlike some of the reviews I read here, the food came out super quick! We did not wait long at all. And our waitress came by often to check up on us. So the service was good. For the drinks: I got their Pineapple Twist Margarita. I was expecting something really fruity. But it basically tasted like straight tequila, as if there wasn't any juice added at all. Appetizer: we had the cheese dip with chips - delicious! The food: My fiance got their top house sirloin. He liked it but thought it could use a little more seasoning. I ordered the cheery chipotle sauce salmon. I liked the glaze. It was a little hot for me, although I am super sensitive to any spice so that's probably just me. I liked the salmon but I wasn't huge on the couscous that came with it - but if I order again I might just ask for rice pilaf that comes with the other salmon instead. Dessert: we got the fudge brownie sundae - yummy of course. The ice cream was delicious. The pecans is also a nice touch. So I haven't been to a BJs since covid, but still expected same good food and service. I usually go to another location, but we decided this one 1. Saturday night the wait was about 1.5 hrs, but a lot of the tables weren't sat even though they were socially distances. They also have outdoor seating 2. Drinks: Fortunately, you can't go wrong with beers. We love their cider. We also ordered mixed drinks which were lacking. I expect if I pay over $9.50 for a drink it should at least taste well. We were all disappointed. 3. Service: we had a great server, but the kitchen was backed up I guess and our dinner came out before alllllllllll the apps were ordered which caused a problem because there was no room on the table. Honestly, it was a hot mess. The manager did come and apologize and took only 2 of the apps off. We didn't even eat the rest of them because we ate our meals. **** to say this, I normally go to another location during lunch so I feel it is more put together. The food was great, I noticed they are doing are doing their best given the covid-19 situation: They have clear barriers in between each table, the menus are available via the QR code from your personal device, and checkout is also from your phone. The food took a while before it came to our table but our server delivered a small croissant and a few fruit pieces to hold the kids over until the entrees arrived. That was unexpected and a very kind gesture. Our server seemed a bit shy or nervous but she did a good job with handling our requests and the order was correct. I ordered a strawberry lemonade for my beverage with the chicken barbacoa. It was a good combination and would order that again. My kids ordered a deep dish pizza and chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and they liked it all in all. The pizza was true to taste deep dish style and the tenders and fries were average in taste and flavor. (I only have 1 picture of the drink as my other pictures of the entrees did not save properly so unfortunately I have nothing else to show). My friend and I are went to BJ's Brewhouse for there all you can eat soup and salad lunch today. All of the staff were wearing masks, there was hand sanitizer for customer use and they had QR codes for safe menu reading. Every other table was closed so there was safe social distancing amongst diners. Our server came over immediately after we sat down and took our drink order. We also ordered our soup and salad at that time since we knew what we wanted... I started with the wedge salad and broccoli cheddar soup, my friend also had the wedge salad with clam chowder. Our server asked what we wanted to come out first and we both chose our salad. It was nice and refreshing, very crispy and fresh. Our soups came out hot with no shortage of cheese, talk about a win-win! Our server was never far behind to make sure everything was great with us and always offered soup/ salad refills. I changed things up and tried the chicken tortilla soup and the Piranha Pale Ale chili. They were both tasty but not a soup or chili I would order again. The chicken tortilla soup had a little too much cilantro and the chili had too much cumin. Although they were not right for my taste, they were very fresh and flavorful. During my visit, we ordered meatballs and chicken potstickers-fried. The potstickers were GREAT for even my pickiest eater. The meatballs tasted like really bad meatloaf. Unfortunately the garlic knots we ordered were recalled so they couldn't serve them. But I felt like it was nice that the manager came and explained the situations to us. (Especially since we didn't even know we wouldn't be receiving them) Their sliders and fries were and excellent choice for someone who isn't super hungry.
