This review is my coronavirus edition. Thankfully, the food, service, and price (relative to what you get) is still excellent and consistent every time I go, and this included my visit today to BJ's. Like every other restaurant during SIP, the dining room is closed. The restaurant is open for take out or delivery (I am not sure who does their deliveries). For take out, you can order online or in the restaurant. For pickup, you can pick it up at the door or they will take it out to your car. I ordered online and picked it up in front of the restaurant. They have a bunch of specials going on now, my favorite is half off pizzas! The food and the service was great, thank you BJs! read more

This was my first time here however my daughter's and husband have been here before. This will be my last time. We ordered 2 apps before our dinner and received 1- they had to reorder 1 as ours had been given to another customer. We didn't get it until AFTER we received our entrees. Half of our table (of 6) had issues with our orders. My husband's jambalaya was missing shrimp, 1 chopped salad didnt receive dressing until our 3rd request for it and my sweet potato fries were ice cold- the plate was warmer than the fries. I imagine this place must lose a lot of money, comping food when simple things could've been done to correct the problems. Half our table ended up getting comped which was fine but if this is an indication of how they operate, I certainly won't be back, comped or not. All of the reviews about service are misleading. I was at BJ's today. I've always had delicious meals there I go on Thursdays because they have a rib special and I always get the full rack it comes with two sides and I always get the clam chowder and the mashed potatoes. It also comes with a pazookie with ice cream. There's so much food I usually end up taking some to go. But today was the first time I've ever had terrible service there. My waitress had an attitude from the very beginning. I don't know if she thought we weren't going to tip because I mentioned that the special we were getting was cheap? I've been in the food, cocktail and bartending business for 45 years and I know when someone has an attitude. I mentioned this to the hostess because I wanted her to bring me a bag and I didn't want to "bother" my waitress for a second bag. The clam chowder was barely warm and the mashed potatoes were barely warm and this is the first time that's ever happened to me. I had to send them both back which didn't help the attitude that the waitress had already. I know that the food is not her fault unless she waits to bring it out but the ribs were hot. Then they got my order wrong on the pizookies to go, so I had to wait longer for the right order. Having mentioned this issue to the hostess she felt it her duty to inform the manager which then already talked to the waitress while we were still there and then she comes over to our table and says "I gave you good service and I asked you this and asked you that and took good care of you". What am I supposed to say to that? Everybody at the table already knew she had an attitude toward us. She never asked if we wanted a refill on our special vanilla cream soda And she didn't even inquire about our meal. We asked for water with lemon which she failed to give us lemon and we had to ask her to bring lemon back. All these things that happened was not our fault. But one thing piled on top of another didn't help her attitude any. I still left her a $10 tip and believe me she didn't deserve that, but I've never stiffed a waitress in my life and never will. The last time we were there then the waiter got a 25% tip because he was all about the service. But I certainly do love this BJ's and I will go back again I'll just make sure that I never have that waitress wait on me. On a normal visit there the place is very comfortable and relaxed but this time I didn't enjoy myself much. I usually don't leave reviews for chain restaurants but this place was exceptional and what made it so was our server Marina. She was so sweet and friendly I felt like I was at local brewery (because they're beer list was awesome). This was the first time I went out of my way to speak to a manager (bad or good) because of the service Marina provided. The service needs some improvement. all the servers look unenthusiastic and like they just want to go home. Our waitress was very rude and tried taking the bill before we were ready. felt as if they were rushing us out. Also found a hair in my pizookie which is the whole reason i came tonight. When i let the manager know about it he said he'd do something about it immediately. Went back and sat at my table and waited about 15 minutes for the manager to come back to the table. they ended up taking it off the bill but he never communicated it to me. Horrible at Curbside Pickup! I ordered 2 pizzas, and they called 10 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready to confirm the toppings on my pizza. I didn't get my order until 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, and there was no offer for compensation or apology for being so late. The service was awful. The server ended up taking my ID inside and he took a long time to come back with it and when he came back he was talking to another team member and he was flicking and bending my ID. He finally came back and gave it to me and then he was super awkward and super slow with everything that we ordered. He didn't even write our orders down and you were supposedly out of avocado egg rolls so we ended up ordering something else. My friend ordered the Mac and cheese and she didn't even end up getting her food. Not happy with this place what so ever this is the second time we had terrible service probably never going back. I love this place. I'm a night owl and BJ's stays open late. I always sit in the bar, which is open seating. The staff is always friendly. They are a brewhouse so they have their own line of beers and they make craft sodas too. My husband likes their beers and I like their sodas, the orange cream and cream soda are my favorites. My favorite thing on the menu is the parmesan crusted chicken, mmm makes my mouth water just writing about it. The deep dish pizza is also great and so are the pizzookie desserts. Terrible service. MARINA was awful. Never asked if we wanted refills. Only Checked in with us once. Waited over 15 minutes for the check bad enough waited 35+ for the food. The manager said it was normal for the food to take that long on a Sunday night despite the restaurant being half empty. We come here at least once a month and order drinks and a selection of small plates -appetizers. Tonight my wife tried a Paloma. No where on the menu did it mention that the glass comes rimmed with salt. She does not like salt on drinks and asked if one could be made without salt (she is also on a low salt diet). The waitress was very polite but the male waiter, her trainer I presume, started arguing with us that it was our fault we did not ask for no salt. He was very rude and condescending. We left without eating due to his attitude and very likely will never return. In fairness, the manager did offer to change servers but the damage was done and we did not feel comfortable or safe staying. Stay away from this place!! Ordered the jalapeño Burger that was delivered to my table cold with raw uncooked bits of hamburger meat inside. This place has the potential to make someone very ill if they have not done so already. I am honestly shocked that food would be allowed to leave the kitchen and delivered to table in such horrid condition. Our Waitress was very nice and sympathetic but how embarrassing for her. The manager came over and apologized but quickly made an excuse stating that my order had been crossed up with a customer who ordered their hamburger extremely rare....hmmm I guess that customer also likes their hamburgers served cold with a greasy stale bun. What a disaster! I am honestly not one to complain and I seriously have to feel very inspired to write a review but I think it's important that people know my experience. BJ's seriously! We went to BJ's the other day for lunch with my son and his best friend I have to say the food was prepared perfectly however our waitress was very rude and abrasive. She forgot things that we asked for right up front and continuously rolled her eyes when we called for her to come help us. it was very upsetting to the point I wanted to move sections but my son said we were almost finished and just to let it be. Needless to say I did not leave her a tip because of how rude she was and that is actually upsetting for me because I put myself threw college being a server, and if you're going to roll your eyes when your customers want service, don't be in the service industry! get a different job read more

Not going for drinks or ordering pizza here! We ordered drinks and I felt it was watered down drinks! I asked if I could replace my lemon drops, because it was tasteless, nothing like what I had before, did not want to drink this period. The waitress said yes, but I had to pay for the lemon drops and my cranberry with vodka( which was ok about the Vodka with Cranberry, it was not bad- but I did not feel it was right to pay for a drink that was tasteless and I did not drink except a sip. Talked to the manager and said I don't like this lemon drop, and I will not pay for it but he did not except my reason. Even-though I did replace my lemon for cranberry with Voka. He would not give me a credit. Service was awful after that requests. I would not recommend getting their pan pizza, it feels like your eating dough, not much taste. Nothing like Chicago pizza. Sever was only nice when she handed the check, of course it was because she wanted to be tipped!! We were told our soup is still frozen so we were asked if we wanted something else. I said I'll have a salad. My salad came and I was given a bottle of balsamic vinegar to go with it. Later I was brought yet another bottle of vinegar to have with my salad. By the time I am done with my salad, they brought me olive oil. I didn't know that I was to make my own dressing. I ordered the Holiday Rib-eye steak, medium rare and double on the asparagus since I don't want mashed potato. My steak was almost well done and I got mashed potato. I told the server who brought my steak out what I ordered and he said no problem, he will get another order of asparagus. Never got the order of asparagus. All in all... the services was very lacking tonight. Will stay clear of this place for awhile. Will see how the rest of the night goes. read more

My friend and I made an online order to dine in because our lunch was 45 minutes We ordered two ahi salads and called after making the order to make sure they received order. Checked in when we arrived and sat at the bar. A waitress approached as for our drink order. 10 minutes later the waitress informed us that we are supposed to be on the restaurant part and not at the bar. I replied we can move if you like but she said it was fine. 10 more minutes go by and waitress asks how we made the order. I replied I went on the BJs app and made my order. When the waitress returned half hour later with no food she asked us if we would like to place our order because they didn't do it yet. Are you kidding me? Definitely won't be coming back to this Bjs. I ordered an online meal with 2 burgers and a steak. I asked for them to be well done and I literally got them raw. I called the restaurant about 3 times to issue a refund and they kept hanging up on me. I went in person and the manager said that he couldn't issue me a refund because it was through apple pay which is connected to my amex card. " can't issue refund on a third party" he did try offering me a card but at that point i was fed up. Definitely wont go back!! read more

For a "chain" restaurant, this place is way above average. They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. Their jambalaya is excellent for a non-Cajun restaurant. They have a lot of beer on tap, but I always try their own. I'm a big fan of their Jeremiah Red. Their Blond, Stout, Porter, and Nut Brown Ale are also good. About the only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the drink/seating wait times. If there are empty tables all over the place, why do I have to wait 15 minutes before I'm seated? Also, good luck trying to get a drink at the bar when all the bar seats are taken. They need a better system for ordering/delivering drinks. Even when we were finally seated at our table, our drink orders took way too long to arrive. read more

I always dread whenever anyone I know suggests we go to BJ's. This place has had the worst service for YEARS and the food is very mediocre for a big price tag. The only thing worth getting is the pizookie if you can actually get a waiter to your table to take your order. Even though there are about 30 members of staff on the dining room floor at any given time, you'd be hard pressed to actually get them to acknowledge you or tend to your table. The food takes forever to get to your table as well. And then the waiters never come back to check on you. Once I waited nearly an hour for a pizookie, which I was informed takes only 3 minutes to make. They claimed they "lost" my order. Another time I arrived during mid day and there were only two other tables. No one came to check on us for 25 minutes. We left and no one noticed. Save your money and go to Johnny Carino's or Buckhorn BBQ. read more

I've never had a server introduce themselves while walking from behind me and seeming impatient before even getting to the table. I've also never had a server take the check from me before I even had the chance to look at it, return it and tell me to sign it before taking it again. Also, after I complained about the wait we asked for avocados because it was missing from our salad and the avocado was covered with wasabi, which it shouldn't be.
