From the moment we sat down he was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever being overbearing. He made excellent menu recommendations, checked on us at just the right times, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was excellent as always -- we especially loved the deep dish pizza and the Pizookie for dessert. But what truly elevated the evening was Bryan's service. He has a natural ability to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Servers like him are the reason we keep coming back. First off, I feel like every time I come to this BJ's, which isn't often, I end up having some kind of issue. The last time I came, our server never came to our table, while people who arrived after us were already being served. I literally had to go find someone myself. It was just me and my daughter, and she was starving, so it was extremely frustrating. This time, my daughter and I got up to use the bathroom, and when we came back, our entire table had been cleared. I was livid and immediately let the hostess know that we were still dining there. They offered us a menu, but at that point, if they didn't already have my order, I wasn't going to reorder everything--I was ready to leave. A few minutes later, they brought out our food, only to have onions on my daughter's burger even though I had clearly requested it plain. Our waiter apologized, and I was told the manager would come by. He did come over, apologized as well, and offered me a gift card, which I appreciated. However, at this point, I honestly don't think I'll be coming back. The food isn't good enough to justify the long waits and repeated issues with the service. I just visited this location for the first time. If I had to give them an office review, I'm going to give them a five for customer service. From the initial walk up, the hostess greeted us with smiles, and were very polite and quick to sit us down. The waiter, very friendly, big smile, on top of it. When we walked out, random employees who were not the hostess, not our waiter, wished us a good night and thanked us for coming. What didn't work, the floors were extremely greasy to the point where I was afraid I was going to fall and I was in tennis shoes. That just made me think that the restaurant was dirty. Now I've been going to BJ's for a long time. Primarily the one in Cerritos, but I usually order the spaghetti dinner, or their pizza. We ordered the BJs combo pizza and I will take full responsibility for not speaking up, but when the pizza was brought out, you can tell it was overcooked. The pepperoni had lost color, it was all shriveled up, the sides of the deep dish were rock hard. It was so bad that I tried to cut it up in little pieces to take it down, but I still scraped the top of my mouth and I'm paying for it today. We didn't even take our pizza to go, we just left it behind. I wish I would've taken photos, but I hadn't seen my friend in a long time and we were deep in conversation and both felt like the pizza was disappointing. Cons - tried to sit us at a table by the host stand THAT WASNT EVEN CLEAN - requested to wait for another table or until that one was actually cleaned and wiped down, forgot about us and sat 3 other tables. When mentioned, "oh yeah huh. We'll sit you next" - got sat and my son slipped on napkins left under while trying to get in the booth. - my son ordered spaghetti with meatballs (meatballs came out mushy like magic sand texture) - ordered a flatbread pizza and protein was missing. This has been a go to spot for when we are not sure where to eat! I've been here ever since I was in high school. There's so many seating and we usually don't have to wait long to be seated! I like that there's many tv around with sports on to watch and music as well. It's a sports bar that I'd go to! We usually order appetizers and salads but this time we got steak and we usually don't order these here but we were like let's try! It was definitely cooked medium and not overcooked. It was actually delicious and we added mushroom and garlic butter which were fantastic. We also got the poke nachos but we ate it so fast without taking a picture. That surprising was good! My friend and I ate here yesterday and this was a really great place for lunch. Beautiful restaurant, fantastic waitress, Alicia, and great food. I am not sure why people leave lower reviews. This place has one of the most versatile menus around from great burgers, salads, ribs, seafood meals, Italian, and just really diverse. Our waitress was Alicia. She was outstanding and got us our drinks within minutes, and even helped us order. We got the Asian chopped salad with chicken, bell peppers, and lots of stuff and huge. 5/5. I ordered the guacamole burger with swiss, and made a few changes to what was on it. The burger was perfect, came with bottomless fries. Even our iced teas were brewed good. I just wanted to share this because my family and I went to BJ's restaurant in Montebello and I ordered a BJ's smokehouse burger. When my food was given to me, the girl did not inform me or let me know that the tray was hot. When I touched the tray to move it closer to me, I burned myself a little bit. It's not severe, but, still, I feel like the manager or owner needs to train their employees more for the safety of their customers. And to always inform their customers, if the tray is hot, to be careful. She just said "oh yeah" after I said "ouch! That's hot!" and then she walked off. Always inform your customers if their tray or plate is hot before giving it to them. read more

Pizookie Disaster.. Came here on a Friday night with a couple of gal pals and... whew. Quite a conflicting experience! We had an 8:15pm reservation but still waited almost an extra hour to be seated because they were running behind. Totally understandable on a busy night, but we were starving. Once we finally sat down, it took another 30 minutes just to get drinks and place our appetizer order. A couple of my friends ordered bar drinks that took forever to come out--twice! We really tried to be good sports about everything, but the final straw was dessert. We asked for our pizookies to go, and somehow our server came back and served them for dine-in. At that point everything had taken so long that we just ate what we could and asked for the check so we could escape. We ended up being there nearly 3 hours, which felt pretty outrageous. Now... the food itself? Delicious. Most of us got the 3-Course Weekend Special, everyone ordered the prime rib, and I had the pork chop. No complaints there! The pizookie situation was disappointing, but I did think the Dubai chocolate version was cute. We swapped the regular chocolate cookie for a chocolate chip cookie instead and it was yummy--solid 4/5. Probably wouldn't order it again, but glad I tried it since I consider myself a bit of a Dubai chocolate connoisseur. One friend even got the Dubai chocolate espresso martini, which looked adorable, but none of us liked it (maybe just too strong?). Just annoyed - I am part of the BJs membership (I know...but I love beer) and they notified me that I can only use one reward per visit- you get a pizza, pazooki, appetizer, bimonthly beer pack, and 3x6 discounted 6 packs- just annoyed because just to use these rewards I guess you have to come in at least 3 times for the food and another 3 times for the beer? Just annoyed might as well cancel the membership at this point. Oh! And another thing- when I was placing my order I kept getting interrupted by uber eats or door dash ppl- I was clearly in the middle of my transaction and she stopped and gave them their food. This was amazing. I couldn't believe how big my pizookie was. It was a very awesome experience. My cousin ate 3 bowls of chili. I ate 2 mini sliders and the amazing fries. overall, IBJ'S. - Collin (8) Our server, Angel, was on the ball. He started by getting us a bag of ice to help numb my son's injured hand and the great service continued throughout our delicious meal. I love BJ's! Definitely take advantage of their rewards app, I had $20 off because of points so our whole order was only $30! We went on a Thursday, which imo has one of the better daily deals. We got a full rack of baby back ribs for only $25 and that included 2 sides AND a pizookie. We upgraded to premium sides so it was a bit more expensive. We also took advantage of the $13 pizookie meal deal and got the American smash burger w/ fries and a personal strawberry shortcake pizookie. Salted caramel pizookie was so yummy! Very pricey, mid food, but good service. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was not too busy. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries, Alfredo pasta, and the seared tuna salad. The salad was very saucy and vinegary and the tuna was very salty. The salad was quite big tho, but I was not too surprised because it was lowk pricey. The sandwich and the pasta were also okay, nothing special. THE PIZOOKIES THO were so good. I always come to BJ's for their pizookies and I am always satisfied every visit. Appreciate their happy hour and daily specials. Sometimes music can be a hit or miss. Came in last time, during HH, games were playing, vibe was high, but whoever had the aux cord definitely was going thru a breakup. The music was so sad. Since my friend wasn't that hungry and I wasn't hungry, we decided to order to share. The options here were endless lol there were also specials going on. After they gave us the notification that our table is ready, they told us that they are cleaning the table, but it has been about 15-20 minutes already and we still did not have our table. FOOD: I usually enjoy the food at BJ's and today was no exception. I came here with a couple of girlfriends and we all had the $13 lunch deal. I had the wedge salad and clam chowder. You can get free refills on these. I only refilled the wedge salad and at that I got a half order. The soup and salad were both very good. The clam chowder is a thin soup with a very good taste and plenty of clams. The wedge was well put together and the dressing was delicious. My friends who had the Smashburger and fries lunch special both said they were very good. The burgers were well grilled and still juicy. My other friend had potstickers and she said they were good as well. I did try the fries and they were lightly coated. I had a glass of hopstorm IPA. I believe they have five dollar beers on Wednesdays. Two of my dining partners had piña colada's, which they enjoyed. The lunch special also comes with a small Pizookie that is served with ice cream. We had the chocolate chip. SERVICE: the service is spectacular. Shout out to Steven the manager. He was able to procure a half wedge salad for me. He is pleasant and professional. I would also like to shout out to Kelly, who was our server. She was very attentive, even though she had several tables. AMBIENCE: I always like the atmosphere at BJ's. My friend and I came specifically for their Friday/weekend special, the prime rib dinner. Parking wasn't bad because it is the malls parking lot. The wait wasn't bad either because we got there before 6pm. We were greeted right away and got sat soon after. Our main server took our order and brought us our drinks and salad order. Then someone else came to either break her or take her place. Our food came and it was good. I just wish my piece of steak wasn't so fatty. There were a bunch of games showing on their TV screens throughout the restaurant. So noise level was loud. We ordered our desserts to go which took a while. This is my go to BJ's which is why my recent visit left me disappointed. We went on a Wednesday night hoping to get a quick bite to eat but were left disappointed. We joined the waitlist at 8:34pm and understood it was going to take a while to be seated but once seated at 8:50pm, we waited 20 minutes and were never approached by a server. Not even to get drinks let alone food. A couple behind us were sat and served in a timely manner while me & a friend sat and watch as servers strolled by without offering even a glass of water. We decided to stand up and leave exactly at 9:20pm, 20 minutes later. It was our first time that the service was this bad. Front desk was amazing. Service was low. read more
