House Blonde
Justin L.

This visit at BJs stood out thanks to Thaly's excellent service! Came in with my wife and brother for a late night meal, and the $13 Pizookie meal deals delivered! We ordered 2 Pizookie meal deals, 1 with a Smashburger and another with the Chicken Parmigiana. Both entrees were yummy and came out at a good time. For drinks, I enjoyed a $5 pint of their house blonde and my wife had a glass of La Crema and Meiomi Pinot Noir. The beer is definitely an above average Blonde! Biggest highlight of the night was the service from Thaly. Her attentiveness and quick greeting once we were sat really set the tone for an awesome meal! She was very kind and accommodated all of our modifications. Thank you Thaly and BJ's Oxnard!

The food and service keeps getting better. Favorite servers: Jordan, Muriel, and Deja! Favorite new dishes: Mediterranean Chicken bowl and Salmon Protein bowl. Still love their cups and guacamole, their steak, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes and salads. My family loves the wings, Mac n cheese and pizza. Everyone's happy when we go! I feel bad for the staff on big game days. People sit at the tables a long time without ordering and those young people rely on their tips to pay rent. But thank you BJs for having allll of the games on all of the time!

Fish night! Enjoying a red and a blonde while we wait for food.

David was a great server and helped make our dinner a fun experience. The tri-tip dinner was great and a good deal on Thursday. We got the mashed potatoes and asparagus, and it was all heavenly.

It was ok food was cold and things didn't tastes as good as you would want. Service was ok but I did tell her the food was cold and took a long time to come back. The place good well kept clean and spacious.i wouldn't go back to this particular location thumbs down

One of the best spots in town for drinks and great food. I come here multiple times a week, and there's a reason for that. Jojo always provides amazing service, and her cheerful personality makes everyone feel welcome the moment they walk in. She truly helps create the kind of atmosphere that keeps people coming back. I also want to give credit to Lisa, the manager. If there's ever an issue, she handles it right away with no questions asked and genuinely wants everyone to have a great experience. Talking with her feels like talking to family. The food is consistently delicious, and the beer selection is honestly better than some of the breweries in town. Their beer club is also one of the best around. Don't let a few negative reviews sway you -- this place is solid, welcoming, and absolutely worth checking out.

Very delicious dessert Pizookie triple chocolate

My server Sierra was excellent in every way. Every one of my requests was handled professionally and with kindness and done immediately. I rarely go to restaurants these days due to poor service and terrible quality of food. This was my first time visiting BJs and I was very pleasantly surprised. Both the quality and service were top notch. The chowder was fresh and tasty and the bread bowl was delicious. The dessert was fresh out of the oven and piping hot and soooo chocolaty. I asked if there was a military discount and Sierra said yes! Then took my receipt immediately to lower the bill. I felt like there was indeed sincere care and proactive effort to support my needs as a customer. I will definitely return and recommend to all my friends.

Came to BJs to try out their $13 Pizookie deal and decided to go with the pepperoni pizza and salad combo. We came on a Friday night and it was busy. We decided to seat ourselves by the bar since it's open seating. It did take a while for a server to give us some menus. The server got our drink order wrong but it wasn't too big of an issue. However, when the server brought my drink order she did spill it and I did not realize it stained. If you are stopping by I suggest you check out their deals they have good ones right now. My favorite appetizer is their loaded nachos def give those a try.

Chicken club sandwich with no chicken because they forgot to put the chicken in it

Never ever getting BJ's We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a baked potato with sour cream and butter and chives. We got no bacon cheeseburger, but we did get frozen fries so I could dip my fries and butter and sour cream. Who does that ?Ordered a chicken club sandwich sandwich came with no chicken in it. The worst service that anyone can imagine. Supposed to be delivered by DoorDash at 5:30 we ordered at 4 :30 o'clock. didn't get our dinner till 6:20 PM. supposed to get refund and still haven't got it.

Had a fantastic Dinner here with my brother at BJ's in Oxnard, CA. Natalie was our server, she was very sweet, nice, funny and just overall fantastic. She was very attentive and handled me and my brother with great patience as we can be very hard to deal with. She catered to our every whim.

Shane was amazing, he provided great service for my bday celebration. He helped me decide on getting a cookies n cream pizookie and it was so good. will come back again

If you're looking for a nice place with some good bar food to watch some sports, BJ's is the spot. We've been coming to BJ's for years and we will keep coming back. The service is awesome and the food is great as they have a nice variety of things for everyone.

I am not about to stroll into Oxnard and pretend I am some linen-shirted coastal ethnographer with…read morea tote bag full of artisanal certainty. I had never been here before. I was merely a road-battered pilgrim, six hours removed from Oakland, washed ashore near the freeway at the velvet fringe of Ventura County, in that glossy new development called The Collection, where every building looks as though it was approved by a committee whose mission statement was: Let there be ambient lighting and retail optimism. My dinner choices arrived like mildly desperate contestants in a televised pageant. Cheesecake Factory told me the wait would be twenty-five minutes and that they would text me. Reader, I assume that text is now trapped in a ravine somewhere, being nursed back to health by quail. Then there was some steak place whose name dissolved from memory before I finished looking at it. So into Lazy Dog I wandered, hungry, tired, spiritually fragile, and very open to persuasion. And I have to admit: the place has a certain charm. From the back at night, Lazy Dog is weirdly enchanting. The warm lights, the patio glow, the bottles shining through the bar, the whole thing looks like a lodge designed by someone who wanted to seduce exhausted motorists into believing life is still full of promise. Yet the actual entrance is oddly easy to miss. The restaurant is basically playing hard to get. A chain restaurant with mystery. A flirt. A woodland princess in practical shoes. Inside, the vibe is part upscale sports bar, part polished suburban den, part "let's make everyone from picky teenagers to diet-conscious moms to semi-hungover road warriors feel included." Buffalo Wild Wings, but after therapy, better lighting, and a semester abroad. The seating is not what I would call voluptuous. You are not sinking into a cloud of velvet mercy here. But the room is lively, social, and good-humored. It hums in that specific modern way that says yes, you may order tacos, noodles, a burger, or a cocktail with fruit in it, and no one will judge your lack of culinary allegiance. The cocktail situation was fun. I had the raspberry sangria, which tasted less like old-world wine-country sophistication and more like Hawaiian Punch got hired by a vineyard. It was bright, sweet, cheerful, and only slightly ridiculous. A prom queen in a stemmed glass. I did not hate it. I also did not see God. 3/5. Service was reliable, friendly, and sincere, which in today's dead-eyed hospitality landscape feels almost mystical. No fake grandeur, no attitude, no emotional frostbite. Just kind, competent people doing their jobs without making me feel like an interruption in their evening. That deserves respect. The menu is broad enough to make you nervous. Burgers, Italian-ish things, Thai-ish things, tacos, bowls, pizza, noodles, probably a diplomatic treaty if you ask politely. Usually a menu this sprawling suggests culinary panic. But Lazy Dog somehow lands on the right side of chaos. Not transcendent, not revolutionary, but steady in a way that is more useful than many trendier places would like to admit. The fried hard-boiled deviled eggs were the surprise star. In theory, this is the kind of appetizer that sounds like America whispering, "What if we made the picnic more reckless?" In practice: very good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, faintly absurd, and impossible not to admire. 4.5/5. The shrimp tacos were also solid. Bright, fresh, avocado doing its usual California diplomacy, pickled onions bringing color and sass, and the whole plate looking just photogenic enough to make younger foodie civilians feel seen by the algorithm. 4.3/5. The shrimp Thai noodles were decent too. Not an oracle, not a revelation, not the kind of dish that makes monks ring bells in the mountains, but flavorful and more than respectable after a long drive. 3.8/5. That may be Lazy Dog's real strength. It is not trying to be a sacred culinary temple guarded by tattooed sommeliers and fermented foams. It is trying to be open late, fun, dependable, and welcoming enough to make a tired traveler feel the night still has one last good chapter in it. And after six hours in the car, that is not nothing. That is grace with parking. So no, this is not the hidden gastronomic throne of Oxnard. But it is a lively, late-night, good-energy landing pad with charming exterior glow, sincere service, fun drinks, and better food than a cynic might expect. Would I come back? Absolutely. Mostly because Lazy Dog fed me, comforted me, and acknowledged the passage of time, which is more than I can say for Cheesecake Factory. Also, points for being open until midnight, because some places close early as if adulthood itself should have a curfew. Lazy Dog, by contrast, understands the nocturnal needs of the weary, the under-caffeinated, the gossip-prone, and the mildly glamorized freeway drifter still chasing one last decent meal before surrendering to hotel-sheet oblivion.

The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.
