My daughter and her boyfriend went to have dinner this evening around 10:30pm. Their server Rayaun gave the worst service that we had ever had as long as we have been going to the restaurant. He came to the table didn't great them, he just said "Do you want a drink?" He took the drink and food order. He came back with the food and he didn't come back. They had to flag down the manager to place another order for the second round of soup and salad. The food was delicious as usual, upon finishing their food they asked about the Dubai chocolate pizookie he told them that they didn't have anymore. He also told them that they didn't have any of the specialty pizookies. They asked could they order another one and he told them that you can only order vanilla and strawberry caramel, everything is closed and put away. When he brought over the pizookie he dropped it off and did not clear the tables of the dishes from the unlimited soup and salad, left the menus on the table. Honestly I'd only come for the $13 meal deal because other than that, the food is overpriced and just ok. The mediterranean chicken bowl on that meal deal was pretty filling. On a Monday night, the wait for two people was around 30-40 minutes but that may be just because it's summer. The other times I've went on weekday nights, there was no wait (during the school year). I normally wouldn't wait that long for a place like this but it's at Del Amo so it's easy to kill time while you wait. We came in on 1/4 at 4PM with a party of 10 and asked how long the wait would be. The restaurant was mostly empty, so we reasonably expected maybe a 20-30 minute wait. Instead, we were told it would be an hour and a half. That alone didn't make sense. What made it worse was that when another person from our group spoke to the host shortly after, we were seated immediately. This gave us a very bad first impression and honestly felt misleading, like the initial wait time was intentionally exaggerated to deter us from eating there. To top it off, the service ended on an extremely sour note. After we paid our bill online, our waitress came up to us and said--very rudely, with a sassy and snarky tone--"We received your payment, all that's left is the tip." This was completely inappropriate, especially since we had already placed a $40 cash tip on the table for a $200 tab, which is more than the 18% gratuity usually added for large parties. The comment was unprofessional, disrespectful, and honestly insulting. No server should ever speak to guests that way, especially when they've already tipped generously. Noticed they have a really cheap Woodford reserve old fashioned on their menu. Now food wise we got the calamari and Brussel sprouts. Calamari was good. Crispy, not too salty. Sauces were good. Now I liked their take on the brussel sprouts tho! That Sriracha sauce I believe, was pretty good. I got their super cheap rib eye. And some veggies and loaded mashed potatoes. Mashed kinda sucked, veggies were ehhhh but the rib eye was not bad at all for the price. Definitely worth it. Not a bad experience after all. If I could give you guys zero stars, I absolutely would. This was the worst experience I've ever had at BJ's. I visited on Friday, June 5, 2026, and the service and food were significantly better than what I experienced today, June 9, 2026. We had a reservation for 10 people for my cousin's graduation lunch. Upon entering, the host, Steven, was incredibly rude for no apparent reason. He informed us that we would have to be split into two groups of five. Which was fine, the host then apologized and walked us to our booths. One booth was ready, but the other was dirty. He promised to find someone to clean it so we could sit down. We waited for about 10 minutes until our server arrived and informed us that she could seat us at a long table in the corner. We suggested that this might be too tight, but she responded with a nasty and snarky, "Well then, you're going to have to wait." We ordered our drinks and food. Our appetizers and Caesar salads arrived about 6 minutes before our drinks. Shortly after, the wings that two people in our party ordered came out. They were burnt and lacked flavor. We sent both orders back and decided that we didn't want one of them. My cousin then decided to replace them with the Santa Fe Salad. The replacement wings arrived along with my food, the Brewhouse sampler, and my wings were still burnt and tasted disgusting. The guacamole was also nasty, no matter how much salt was added. The replacement wings were still unpleasant, and we ended up sending all of the food back. We are deeply disappointed and will not be returning to BJ's. The quality of service and food has drastically declined. The waitress even admitted that the kitchen was a mess, indicating that the restaurant clearly needs help everywhere. read more

While everyone posts about the mains, for this Yelp review I'm going focusing on appetizers and desserts - two areas where BJ's really excels. For BJ's appetizers I really like their Avocado Egg Rolls and their Chicken Wings. Their Avocado Egg Rolls has a good spicy filling of sun dried tomatoes, red onions, chipotle peppers, cilantros, avocado and cream cheese. It also comes with sweet tamarind dipping sauce. I loved how the avocado flavor really pops out! This is a great starter. For their chicken wings, BJ's offers a variety of different flavors. I chose to get their Bacon Jam Wings. These wings come smothered with their peppercorn bbq sauce and bacon onion jam. It's one messy but delightful appetizer. It is a bit on the sweet side because of the bbq and so if you don't like sweet, I would recommend you get the plain wings instead. Aside from smothering it won't the sweet peppercorn bbq sauce, they also sprinkle lots of chunks of bacon on top. For dessert, I can't help but write about BJ's fabulous pizookie. They've got nine different flavors but my personal favorite is their White Chocolate Macademia Nut Pizookie. I love the white chocolate chunks and macadamia nuts in the soft buttery sugar cookie. I am an absolute fan of how warm the cookie is when served. BJ's appetizers and desserts can easily be the stars of the table versus the mains and I'm all for it! ;) read more

I've been coming to BJ's in Torrance for a while and it's usually a solid experience. The staff is generally polite and the food is consistent, which is why I've kept coming back. Tonight was a different story. I paid using the QR code on the receipt. As we were leaving, our server stopped us and told us we hadn't paid. It wasn't approached as a question or a quick check, it came across as an accusation. I immediately pulled up my email receipt and showed proof of payment, but by that point the situation had already been handled poorly. It was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and honestly disrespectful. I understand mistakes happen, but there's a professional way to handle them, and this wasn't it. A simple verification before confronting a table would have avoided this completely. Because of this experience, I'll be more cautious about returning and will definitely be rethinking how I tip going forward. read more

We were seated immediately on 8/1/26 around lunchtime by a friendly hostess. And we sat there.... Overall the food tasted decent, the portion size was laughable (but I'm on a diet so it works out well actually), and the service was average. Every BJ's I've eaten at has always had very busy services where the waiters and waitresses seem to be running everywhere. So we never see our waiter/tress more than 2-3 times max to refill our water or get our check -- hence me saying the service is average. The food actually tastes decent! I'm happy about that and they always have some sort of deal depending on the day of the week. The beer and drinks are surprisingly affordable. Very reasonably priced. I remember looking at them and thought 'wow these are the prices despite all the inflation these past several years?' I also don't mind getting refills on the beers. The ambiance is very family friendly. It's also a good place for a casual date as well. Now the only issue I have is the food portions LOL. If I wasn't on a diet, then this would be a 1 star review. We started with appetizers, and I was especially impressed with the children's snack. It typically comes with Goldfish and fruit, but they had run out of Goldfish. Instead, they substituted with clam chowder crackers, which turned out to be a clever and thoughtful replacement. That, along with the kids' activity book, kept my daughter happily distracted while we waited for our food. For my entrée, I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a side of corn--my go-to meal at BJ's. I first discovered it when I lived in Houston and have been ordering the same dish ever since, even now that I live in California . The gravy is especially delicious--whatever they put in it, I'm hooked! As for appetizers, we ordered the avocado egg rolls, though I didn't get a chance to try them because I was completely focused on the lemon pepper wings. They reminded me of the smoked wings from Hooters, which I love. Even though BJ's version is fried, they still had that smoky flavor. You've got to try them! My daughter chose the mini corn dogs. She wasn't a huge fan, but she asked for them, and I thought they were pretty good--even though I'm not usually a corn dog person. They also came with happy face french fries, which she thought were adorable and made her giggle. Overall, the experience was wonderful. Our waitress, Anaya, was absolutely fantastic--especially with an energetic toddler in tow. She was attentive, hospitable, and genuinely sweet. She even managed to capture my daughter's attention, which any parent knows is no small feat. She definitely deserves recognition for her excellent service. We only saw our server once when she took our order and then never saw her again while dining. She didn't check in on our table once. We had to ask different servers attending other tables for help. Comes with 2 sliders, moz stix, boneless wings, and a dip choose between queso or spinach artichoke + chips. The sliders were super dry no cheese just buns and a side of lettuce and 2 pickles. It tasted and looked like a big piece of jack links jerky in between the bun. But i improvised and slapped some dip to make it better.
